❝ I'm in a situation, where, neither i can cry, nor i can smile.❞

🍃

The boy ran towards his room and locked the door. Tears were nowhere found in his eyes like a river forgot to flow or you could say the extreme heat of the sun had absorbed the water.

He kept his flute on the table and changed himself into a clean t-shirt. He put on his semi-rimless spectacle and adjusted his clothes.

The sound of pitar patar could be heard from outside indicating heavy rainfalls.

He recalled today's incident, from the girl informed him about today's competition, him went there, Ra-One members were waiting for him, he could be able to understand their intention but didn't stop them, playing flute, them playing guitar, him being insulted in front of everyone, they used abusive words against him, they bullied him, he fell on the ground, them throwing mud, a girl approached towards him for help.

He didn't know why but remembering the girl's face his lips tugged up a little.

Thinking about something he reached for his cupboard and opened it. Searching for something in that and after some moments he took out an old diary, lamented with brown velvet cover.

Sitting at his study table, he opened the diary. An old smell with slight yellow pages welcomed him. The appearance of it seemed like for so many years no one dared to touch it.

Flipping through the pages, some memories flashed in his mind and his eyes became watery.

It was a time when he was just 10 years old, his parents died in a car accident. Their relatives refused to take him. So he had to work in a tea stall to satisfy his stomach. He always dreamt to be a doctor since childhood but in the cruel irony of fate, his dream was shattered that day unless one day Mr. Agarwal came to have a cup of tea in their stall.

He noticed the little boy was serving tea. Seeing him he felt a sort of pain in his heart. Being childless, he decided to take the boy with him and took care of him as his child. Though he became a good father day by day but his wife, Mrs. Agarwal couldn't accept the boy. She always treated him like a servant, but he never disobeyed her orders. He always did what his new mother ordered; happily without any objection. But somewhere in his heart, he felt very lonely. He missed his mother a lot, craving for the motherly touch.

When he returned from school he saw many mothers used come to pick up their children. He felt bad but didn't show it in front of the world. Sometimes at night, he would sit in a corner of his room and cried. Mr. Agarwal tried in many ways to comfort him but no one was able to understand his inner pain.

That's how days were passing. When he became 17, Mr. Agarwal admitted him to his hostel to take medical coaching.

Since then he was there. Studying now in the 2nd year.

As the whole campus knew the fact that Mr. Agarwal adopted him and saw his love for him, they used to mock him by calling him 'Professor's lullaby'.

Though he was a Greek God on the campus but being a nerd he rejected many proposals, which was the main reason everyone hated him. But none could deny the fact that he was a great flutist.

The diary was gifted by Mr. Agarwal. As he loved him the most, he took the diary as a blessing from him. So he kept it safe always with him. In it, he used to write the special moments in his life, though they were not much but whenever he felt good he wrote about them in his diary. Most people write diaries to express their saddest moments in life, for example as Siya did, but he was completely different from others.

Maybe he didn't want to waste his time thinking about it or maybe it gave him more pain to write about it. Who knows!

Hey, Champ!

24th July, 2021

Shocked right? I know. It's been 3 years since I didn't catch up with you. I know your question will be, 'then why now?' Okay, today I felt a little good, actually very good. I thought when they informed me about the competition, it would be one more worst day like others. But unfortunately or fortunately if it wouldn't have this much worst, this can't be such a better one. I may sound like a creep but since you're witnessing my good times, I just want to share it with you.

Today I saw a girl. I admit that she's very sweet. I saw her in this hostel before. Maybe she's a fresher. In those days whenever Ra-One team members bullied me or beat me, no one, not a single one came up to help me. The girls who want to talk with me most of them come to me with bad intentions. So I just simply ignore them all the time. I'm kinda afraid of girls since Riya tried to touch me inappropriately. Huff... I just fade up with them.

But today, I don't know why, I didn't find any type of cunning in her eyes. Her doe-like soft eyes filled with the utmost innocence I've ever seen. I couldn't help but admire those for some second. Her black bumblebee-like hair danced effortlessly over her waist. Her face holds a different glow, unlike others. I don't know why but my eyes got moist after seeing her. Like, I know her for decades, but how can it be possible?! She extended her hands towards me for help. My heart signaled me to accept it instantly but I abruptly stopped myself as my subconscious was screaming at me that maybe she too was one of those attention seekers who come for my looks.

I didn't turn to her, nor utter a single word. God knows what she's thinking about me, but I know who am I, so both of us should stay away. I didn't want to meet her again or maybe...want. I don't know.

He closed his dairy and after putting it in the right place he again sit down at his study table and peeped through the window.

A cool yet calm breeze passed by his face making his eyes close. He opened his eyes only to meet with his books, as they waited for a long to get his touch. He adjusted his spectacle with his index finger and started reading attentively.

After a few hours,

"Raghav!" Mr. Agarwal stamped onto his room and started checking him from top to bottom.

"Mr. Agarwal, what happen? You, here, this time, is everything fine?" Raghav asked him while standing from the chair.

"That's the question I want to ask you, my child, I heard Ra-One members bully you again!" Mr. Agarwal asked him being tensed.

"Mr. Agarwal-" he was cut off by him.

"Don't be so formal Raghav, I'm in your room, not on the campus." Mr. Agarwal chuckled along with Raghav.

"Okay, actually Dad, you shouldn't be worried about me, I'm fine. It's not their fault actually, I agreed to their propos-" Mr. Agarwal again interrupted.

"You always speak up for those who harass you over and over again. Why Raghav? How many times have I warned you that stay away from them? They will not miss a chance to insult you!" He scolded him to which Raghav simply nodded.

"Okay, take care of yourself. And yes, try to say no, Okay? Good boy." Mr. Agarwal bid goodbye and left from there. He sighed and turned to study again.

Here Siya was in deep thoughts about today's incident. She tried to forget it and concentrate on her studies as soon as possible, but whenever she opened her books, her mind again roamed toward the morning incident.

Being frustrated she opened her diary and started writing,

Dear Diary,

24th July, 2021

Today I met with a boy, greenish-grey hazel orbs, maggie hairs, semi-rimless spectacle, and most importantly the flute! To be honest, I never heard such a beautiful tune before. For a while, It felt like I know this tune for decades, but this can never be possible! I don't know the guy, nor have I met with him before, but still, his aura felt familiar. But actually, he's an egoistic jerk, seriously! I've never seen such an ungrateful human! Chameleon eyed Khadoos! I hope we never meet again.

She closed the diary furiously and kept it in her bag. Taking in a deep breath she started her study to not spoil her first impression in class.

The green leaves were looking very fresh. The croaking of frogs, seemed like they were mocking her.

'Though she's stubborn to admit that she has not any interest in him, somewhere in her heart she knows that she will meet with him again!'

🍃

Raghav too is depressed.
What do you think, will they meet again?
