Summary: After a terrible act of evil, the small island of Acadia has built a towering black wall, closing the city off from the mainland. For seven long years, Wielders are feared and hunted inside the impenetrable walls for the incredible gifts that they possess.

Now, three young wielders hold the power to change everything.

Marina, determined to save her brother can't rein in the ice she manipulates. Adira, only discovering her overwhelming abilities, is fighting for freedom. Soren, still connected to the girl whose life he helped tear apart is struggling to unearth a silver of the humanity that was stolen from him.

Set in a modern era fantasy world, these three intertwining stories culminate into a tale of strength, discovery, and doing anything to save the ones you love.

Reviewer's Remarks: Shadows of Stars is a young adult fantasy work which interweaves the tale of three youths. When depicting such stories which lace the accounts of multiple protagonists authors must always be aware of is to keep the reader's engaged while alternating point of views.

I really enjoyed the multiple lead characters and their various narratives. The reader (myself in this case) is always privy to what to what the character experiences, perceives and considers. It makes the story personal. It allows the reader to envisage themselves in the character's shoes and empathise with said character.

I must admit, I was a little reluctant to read a story in which there were alternating point of views with three lead characters - but the author really surprised me by delivering such a beautiful and heart wrenching debut.

I adored the author's style of writing and became attached to the characters. I had planned on reading through three or four chapters since I must review other works too, but I managed to go through all the published chapters and was a little shattered when I realised there were no chapters remaining.

The ability of the author to produce such a well-composed fantasy work is truly astounding. However I wish I was offered more detail of the fantastical world the author had created - so that I would've been able to depict a clear illustration in my mind.

Overall, this was such a beautiful read and I would recommend it to readers who enjoy fantasy works and strong heroes/heroines.

Rating (out of five): 4

A note to the author: This work has a lot of potential and you managed to offer the readers such a beautiful story.
