Summary: "Damaged people are dangerous, they know they can survive."

~~~~~~~~Damien is a sophomore and an apparent nuisance to his senior buddy, Harvey, who would rather spend his final year at William's beck and call than with some "Sophty" who doesn't know his left hand from his right. Damien knows he's unwanted, but is trying his best to get through his last years with decent grades and some inkling of his remaining sanity. After his mother's third miscarriage and his father being absent most of the time, there's not much more dysfunction he can take without offing himself.So this is his plan: utilize his "buddy" to keep his grades up to par, try to be more invisible to Marshall, the school hoodlum, than he was last year, and tell his parents whatever they want to hear when they ask their Teddy "How was school today?", until that diploma is safely in his grasp.That's the plan. But not William's.Or should I sayMr. Teller.
Reviewer's Remarks: 'Teller' is a contemporary ongoing novel classified under Teen Fiction. Teller discusses the life of Damien - a sophomore in high-school - attempting to get through the concluding years of high school. Damien comes from a dysfunctional family - his mother struggled with unfortunate pregnancies and his father is withdrawn.
Damien, in attempt to cope with these struggles composes a vague plan to keep up his grades, evade Marshall - the brooding rogue who causes him trouble - and conceal his angst and melancholy.
This work is a beautiful coming of age tale which discusses friendship, teen angst, the struggles of adolescence, sexuality and abuse. It does not shy away from mature and dark themes in the pubescent male's teenage life.
I devoured this story - it consumed me - until I realized that there were no more chapters left to read. The author's style of writing is very distinct and beautifully composed - apart from the usual minor misconceptions.
Rating (out of five): 4
A note to the author: Your work was a satisfying read which I found enjoyable. I just wished you would have offered a brief introduction to the character's or a vague reference to their backgrounds in the beginning because I was a little scattered. But, as I mentioned I really did enjoy reading this work.
