Van turned off the news and checked their gun. Wendy walked in, carrying her weapon as well.

"Ness, er, Van. Sorry it's still hard with the name change. When's the next shipment of food coming through?" Wendy asked.

"I told them not to bring anymore."

"What? Why?"

Van set their gun down and faced Wendy. "We got lucky enough to be in Zedra Labs with Emi did all this. We can make food or something. Imagine being one of the poor souls in Oak Park."

Wendy looked down. "I didn't want to remember that..."

"It's okay. We'll get through this. We have to believe that. You designed the weapons that are getting shipped all over the world. That has to count for something." Van smiled halfheartedly and turned the news back on.
