Ongoing loud hammering woke Finn, who had unwittingly dozed off and abided asleep through what some may call a night. What pounded was for once not his heart, but instead the hollow front door which was being knocked at. After realizing so, Finn stood up to stop the hammering and preserved Lena's still lasting slumber, by opening the door.

"Who are you?" asked a hunter, perplexed to see a boy in place of his young female friend.

This man had twice Finn's mass but was at least two heads shorter. His calf-warming boots added little to his height. His shoulders were covered by fur, the rest of his body squeezed into a leather armor and rustling chains. On his back, he carried a quiver with arrows, and in his hairy hand the matching crossbow.

"Who are you?" asked Finn back, returning an equal confusion.

"I'm Pacu of Payden, where is Yurie?"

His voice was deep, and that of Finn; raspy. He stretched his tired muscles as he twisted his upper body to face it towards Yurie's bedroom. "I think she's already at work."

"What do you mean; already?" The man pushed Finn aside to enter the house, his snow-covered boots leaving a trail behind him. "She should have been home hours ago! What's going on here? And who is that?"

"That is a she, and her name is Lena," said Finn in a natural volume after having recognized how shatterproof her sleep was. "Look, we're friends with Yurie. She offered us to stay for a few days until we move on."

"You're not from here," said the man, noticing Finn's foreign appearance. "A few days are really long on Boreas, you know that, right?"

"Yes. Of course, I knew that. I meant to say for a short period of time."

"So let me guess. Yurie has known you for a short period of time."

"Sort of," said Finn, intimidated by Pacu's Yeti-like characteristics, such as his build and the white frosting that decorated his shaggy black beard and the long mane on his head.

"Oy no," his fingers pinched the bridge of his knobby nose as he shook his head. "She has two strangers sleeping on her couch. That girl's heart is too gracious for this poor world. One day it'll get her killed."

"We are not here to do any harm."

"Yeah, good," he lifted his crossbow and aimed it at Finn. It was not loaded with an arrow, but it served as a warning. "Because if it were any other way, I would easily—"

"Pacu?" said Yurie, standing behind him at the door. "What are you doing here?"

With one quick, large step, he created a distance to Finn, followed by a pitiful attempt to present his soft and harmless self. His voice took over a higher pitch as he explained, "I was looking for you, I was worried. I went to your shop before coming here, but it was closed."

"I wasn't at work." She looked downhearted. "I was out on the sea, looking for my brother."

"That's what I came here to tell you. They found him."

The heavy equipment in Yurie's hands hit the floor as a result of her shock. That clatter woke even Lena.

"Is he—" Yurie said, too frightened to complete her thought.

"He's alive."

"Oh thank the goddess! Where is he?"

"He's in the healing lodge. Come on, I'll take you."

"Thank you, Pacu," she picked the empty fishing net off the ground and bothered not to untie it. It ended up being shoved into the corner next to the door. "Guys," she said to Finn and Lena, "I have to go again, I'm sorry. I'll explain everything when I'm back. Don't be shy to eat some of the food I have stored. I'll be fast."

"And then there were two," Finn said to Lena.

They were too bemused to question what had just happened. Yurie had been expecting a visit by her brother, though he never arrived, and that's all Finn knew from the little time he had known her.

"Do you have any idea what time it is?" asked Lena.

"Not even slightly." He placed his folded blanket on the rounded armrest of the sofa.

"Can I ask you something?"

"So early already?" He cast a smile. "What's your question?"

"What exactly did you find on the hard drive?"

He looked as if he was caught stealing, and tinkered a sentence with chopped words. "It, um—there were—I mean, it had the lost ship's location. Most likely. It was—it had some location. But probably that of the ship."

"It's on Boreas, right?"

"Yes. That's at least where the coordinates lead to."

"Are we going to go there?"

"We'll try to get there. It's supposedly in the mountains."

Finn grabbed a folded piece of large paper that lay on one of the shelves. He flattened it out on the floor and pointed at the corner of the map it presented.

"This is where we are." A village named Payden built at the coast and moderately beyond. His finger drove to the center of the map, the mountain range with nothing shown or noted, except for the lone word Thrake. "This is approximately where the coordinates will lead us. I hope you like snow."

"Hold on. How can an entire ship be somewhere on a mountain? Don't they need a flat surface to land, and fitting weather conditions?"

"You're correct. I'm not certain how it's possible, but the location was withheld by a hard drive entitled A154, which is the lost ship's name after all."

"I see," unsure why she coule not feel happy for Finn, she pursued to say, "That's good."

"It really is. Today I'll ask Yurie to help me find the right technology to contact my father."

"D—did you just say——Yurie?" Lena's eyebrows sprang up, her jaw dropped down. She shook him by his shoulders before he could answer. "Her name is Yurie? Is it, Finn?"

"Yes," he tore himself away from her very physical reaction. "So?"

"Arrakis was friends with a Yurie! Could it be the same person?" She looked at the photograph hanging above the fireplace. Earlier she had found it adorable, but now that she realized that the boy in the picture may be Arrakis, her stomach felt like a black hole. "Does Yurie own a shop?"

"Yes, she sells fish. You knew that, didn't you?"

"No, Finn, how could I've known that? I didn't know anything about that woman when you brought me here." Lena puffed hysterically. "We have to get out of here."

"What?"

"Finn! Arrakis is Yurie's brother!"

"I thought you said he's dead."

"Clearly, I was wrong."

"How—"

Lena nearly ripped his arm out of his shoulder to draw him to the door. "There is no time to review the facts! Let's go!" She pulled his body with imposing energy. "Come on!"

"Wait a second," he breathed but got hauled by reckless anxiety. "Lena, calm down for a moment. Let's think about this in a collected manner. Yurie is a noble and highly charitable person, there must be another one with the same name on this island."

"She owns a shop! She was expecting his arrival! I'm not mistaken! Come on!"

"There must be an explanation," Finn said, hoping to be in the right, not to win the discussion, but to be in safety. "Yurie is so kind, maybe—"

"No! Do you hear yourself? Have you forgotten what he's done to me? And you. He didn't hesitate to shoot you and came here to hunt you down! His family consists of psychos! We are his meal and Yurie is serving!"

"Yurie saved me when I had no food and no place to sleep. And may I remind you that she saved your life, too?"

"Yes, probably to give Arrakis the pleasure of finishing us! Psychos!"

"I find that very hard to believe."

Lena stomped her foot and threw her fists as if playing the snare drums. "You either come with me, or you stay. Either way, I'm leaving."

"Fine. Okay, alright, we'll go."

It was the fear of losing Lena again that had persuaded him, he still believed in the good heart of Yurie. Finn grabbed a blanket to protect him when they would enter the cold.

"Hurry!" she urged.

The door opened before Finn and Lena reached for it. Arrakis hobbled inside with his left arm spread over his sister's shoulder for support. Lena stumbled backward. Her falling was prevented by Finn, standing right behind her. She let out a squeal. Consequently, Arrakis took note of her first. His eyes sniped a charged scowl at her, so intense, it appeared to be painful for them both.

"What is she doing here?" Arrakis scoffed with scornful detestation and animosity, and by the looks, it was clear that Lena would have been shot already if a gun would have been handed to Arrakis.
