Like, How about her mom left her to go to WORK.

(By the way, Her parents divorced. So her Dad got custody of Henry and her Mom got custody of her.)

And then Iris waited, and waited, And waited.. Until one year. That year on the news. Her mother was found dead after an apparent Suicide. (Dark, I know.)

Iris then moved back with her Dad, to Derry again. At the young age of 4.
