𝓢atou wasn't sure if she should look down the alleyway.

She could hear coughing and sniffling, along with the occasional sneeze coming from there. Whatever was there likely couldn't hurt her, but she wasn't sure she wanted to confirm that.

Satou heard the sound of wheezing, what she assumed was a coughing fit. A loud boom startled her slightly, and she took a step back. The sound echoed slightly. Satou no longer heard the sounds of coughing or sneezing.

Out of curiosity, Satou took a step forward, and then another, until she was at the front of an alleyway. Her cherry-colored eyes trailed over the place. A particularly foul-smelling dumpster was placed nearby the back. Satou didn't want to know what exactly was in the dumpster. At all.

She started to walk down the alley, towards the end. Nearby the dumpster, she saw the cause of the noise.

And then a raindrop landed on her head.

Satou didn't seem to notice even as the sprinkles of rain fell faster, slowly evening to a steady flow of water. Her eyes were locked onto the person who had caused the noises in surprise.

Satou could see it was a girl. A girl with (h/l), messy (h/c) hair. She had dirt and mud on her face, and was wrapped in the thinnest and dirtiest wool blanket that Satou had ever seen. The girl seemed to be the same age as Satou, and her eyes were shut. Her head was angled uncomfortably against the wall in a way that suggested she hadn't meant to fall asleep. Satou noticed the girl's (s/c) skin seemed to be tingled with slight blue-ish and purple and (whatever color your skin would turn on the verge of death-), and her wrists were thin, as if she was malnourished. Satou guessed that the strange girl was sick.

As the rain fell, Satou couldn't tear her eyes away from the stranger.
The stranger was cute in an almost helpless way, like...a squirrel. No matter the flaws that were so evident, like scrawniness, a squirrel always seemed cute. And that's the same way this sick girl seemed to Satou.

Then it occurred to Satou she should probably do something. Her shoes splashed lightly in the puddles as she stepped forward until she was right in front of the girl, rain blurring her vision slightly. Satou wasn't sure if she was strong enough to lift someone the same size as her, but she wanted to try. She...wanted to help this stranger. And that feeling alone was strange to her.

".......you're going to be okay." Satou whispered even though the unconscious girl couldn't hear her. As Satou reached out to brush a strand of hair off the girl's face, a spark shot through her, a sort of happy feeling she could not understand.
