Melaina has milk chocolate colored hair which is curly and ends her mid bacm, with dark sleepy eyes. Her face is slightly ovalish with a slightly sharp jaw and chin. She has a medium sized roman nose with light freckles peppered around her face and body. Melaina has strong legs and and arms, her body shape is sort of ovalish. She has some burn scars on her neck and the left side of her body, but they're not that bad. She also has some scars from fighting answered fixing cars. She has long eye lashes as well. She has semi-large lips.

Melaina likes to help people and do the hard stuff. She has to do everything right and do the good things. She doesn't do anything for herself or else she would feel selfish, she likes protecting people who can't protect themselves. She grew up in a tough environment so she can be tough herself without realizing. Melaina doesn't like getting mad or yelling but she hates getting sad more. She feels like that she can't be sad because more people have it worse than she does.

Melaina and Dominic were born on December 24, or to some people, Christmas Eve. Their mother was named Riley, but they didn't know their father. But, they're mother did, well partly. She always had her powers but didn't tell anyone, she just assumed they were from her father. After a year of living in Romania their mother met a man named Damien Riles, who she quickly married and moved to Rio with. Their life was okay for a bit but Damien wasn't the nicest of guys, and he really wasn't nice when he lost his construction business when they were five.
Still, even with Damien's cruelties and abuse they pretended not to care. They acted like they were a normal family just enjoying life in Rio. That is until Dominic had enough of their step father, packed up his things with Melaina and went to their grandparents who also lived two cities away from Rio. One day their house caught on fire, burning Melaina but no one was killed. She felt scared, she didn't know her grandparents and now she had been burned, badly. So when her parents requested to have their kids back, Melaina jumped at the chance, even if they weren't the stablest or families. Dominic didn't come back home to their parents, instead choosing to stay with their grandparents. For a whole that was the end of their relationship. Until, one really bad night when Melaina ran away from home once more. Dominic and her weren't quite on speaking terms but it was better. After a few years she decided to do something with her life, after a two odd choices she ended up working with Shield. At first not a big role but after a few good years of hard work she somehow made it pretty far.
