I'm so sorry if I get any personalities wrong

Evie Shine grinned at her sister, Lou Ellen. "Just like that, Lou! You conjured that Mist perfectly!"

Lou smiled back at her. "Took me quite a bit of practice. And by that I mean I spent hours on it."

"Even better!" Evie encouraged. "Practice makes--"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah." Lou Ellen rolled her eyes as she crushed the Mist into water vapour. "Practice makes perfect. Whatever."

"I know I say it a lot and it gets very annoying, but it's also true." Evie said, forming her hand into a claw shape and swiping it upwards. The water vapour moved with the hand, flinging itself into the air and exploding when it was about fifty feet high, reflecting the midday sun off it and creating a rainbow.

"Whoa," Lou Ellen breathed. "How'd you do that? I thought I completely turned it into water!"

"There were still small traces of Mist in it, if that makes sense," Evie explained, their emerald eyes shining with pride. "It takes years of practice to be able to do that, though. I think you're definitely powerfu--Oh, hold on a moment." She turned around to face a projected image of her friend Onyx. "Everything okay there?" They motioned for Lou Ellen to leave the otherwise empty training grounds and she reluctantly did so.

Their eyes...those shadows around them are much darker than usual, Evie thought.

Onyx shook their head. Their hazel eyes were full of worry. "There's a big problem."

Shoot, Evie thought. Onyx travelled to the Underworld often. Being the only mortal child of Nyx, they were tasked with making sure their mother and godly siblings didn't go crazy and start a war against the gods for whatever reason they came up for that month. They were currently staying in Hades's palace with two more of Evie's friends, Kari Dale and Angel di Nicollo. They were both children of Hades who wanted to help Onyx with their job.

"What is it?" Evie asked, fearing the worst. "Are Kari and Angel okay?"

"They're fine," Onyx promised. It made Evie feel a bit better until they added under their breath, "for now."

"What do you mean?" Evie frowned and moved a strand of their black hair dyed purple at the tips out of their face.

The child of Nyx hesitated for a moment. "I think it'd be better if you came here, actually."

Evie's eyes widened. Onyx would never ask for others to come to the Underworld with them unless it was really serious. They'd spent weeks arguing with Angel and Kari when they offered to go with them to the Underworld, and they were both children of the god of the Underworld.

I guess I'm also the daughter of an Underworld goddess, though, Evie realized. Hecate was technically an Underworld Titan.

"You, Ellie, Feyre, Presleigh, Elena, Arlo, Azrail, and Kate," Onyx continued.

Evie blinked. "All of them? Our entire friend group?"

"Well, the Hunters are visiting right now, correct?" Onyx waited for Evie to nod before continuing. "Then Kate should be able to come. Everyone else is at camp right now, so we're good." Seeing the look on Evie's face, their eyes softened for a moment. "Look, I know this isn't normal. And I promise I wouldn't do this if it wasn't 100% necessary. Please, Eve, I really need all of your guys' help."

Seeing the desperate look in their best friend's eye, Evie nodded. "I'll do my best," she promised. "You really can't tell us here, though?"

Onyx shook their head. "I have to go. Please hurry. I'm--we're--counting on you."

So no pressure, then, Evie thought as Onyx broke the connection, ending the strangest yet most worrying Iris Message they'd ever been a part of. Just gotta convince all of my friends to come with me to the freaking Underworld, ignoring my better judgement in the process. Just a regular Saturday. They turned and sprinted towards the cabins. Just a regular Saturday.

Short prologue lol.

Sorry most ppl didn't get in it; I didn't feel like doing that many introductions all at once. I think that'll happen next chapter.

I still need to make an outline for this...

Oops.

ANYWAYS, what'd y'all think? I don't really like this so far, but I have a lot of decent-ish ideas for the next chapter, so I'll hopefully be able to save the fic before it dies.

QOTD: Dragons or unicorns?

A: Dragons. I love unicorns, but D R A G O N S.
