ENEWS: LYDIA SIMMONS TO JOIN THE MCU, APPEAR IN NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA MOVIE AS COMIC CHARACTER- NYX?

Rumors are swirling around Hollywood that Lydia Simmons, the rising starlet of the moment, has landed a major role in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film, "Captain America: Civil War."

According to insiders close to the project, Simmons is in talks to play the role of Nyx, the night goddess. Fans of the MCU are excited about the prospect of seeing Simmons bring this iconic character to life on the big screen.

But that's not the only thing that has tongues wagging. Fans are also ecstatic thinking of the reunion of a lifetime of this set, if the rumors are true.

It is often said that, "people who were meant to be together will always find their way back to each other. They make detours in life but they are never lost."

It seems as though Lydia Simmons and Chris Evans make the perfect example for such a situation. For those living under a rock, Lydia Simmons and Chris Evans were one of the most renowned Hollywood couples back in their love-sick days.

The former couple met in 2009, at the party of mutual friend- Scarlett Johansson and immediately hit it off. In 2010, the two made their relationship red carpet official at the premiere of Chris' movie- The Losers. From then onwards, #Lydris took Hollywood by storm, with all their candids on Lydia's social media, trips around the world, supporting each other through their careers and whatnot.

When Chris signed onto the MCU as Captain America, Lydia too soon became good friends with most costars on set. Even now, two years after the couples separation, Lydia remains good friends with most of the MCU cast, often sharing pictures with Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and so on.

Yes, you heard us right. #Lydris was short-lived as the couple announced their split on Twitter in October, 2012 and Lydia cleared out all pictures with Chris off of her profile as well. Although the entire story remains unknown, when Chris was asked, his words were: "we both have clashing values right now. You know, we just need or want different things from our lives right now and we thought that instead of holding each other back, it was a better decision for us to go our separate ways."

Lydia, however, chose to remain completely mum about the manner and soon shifted to UK after the split, settling down there on her own. It was here that her companionship with Tom Hiddleston grew as the two began to perform at theatre together and became best friends over time.

Lydia and Chris have nearly crossed paths multiple times, whether at Chris Hemsworth's NYE party or during the birth of Scarlett Johansson's daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, back in 2014.

"They were this close but never quite there..." a #Lydris fanpage recently tweeted when rumors of the two potentially reuniting on an MCU set began to circulate.

Neither Simmons nor Evans have commented on the rumors, but that hasn't stopped fans from buzzing with excitement about the potential pairing. They are wondering if the two might be reuniting on set, and are eagerly speculating on the possibility of a romantic reunion, as well. With the film set to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, all eyes will be on the pair to see if their on-screen chemistry translates into something more.
