Life was different for everyone. It always gave a sense of happiness or sorrow depending on what events it held. For certain people, it went seemingly right: nothing bad ever happened to them. For others, the exact opposite. And like always, there were the people who rode the line between the two.

Elise found herself constantly riding that line, trying to find a balance of the crazy things she had thrown at her. She tried in vain to slip over to the side of happiness and tried to have the  perfect life, yet she could never hop off the line that she stood on. Her life was always balanced between right and wrong, happiness and sorrow. It would never tip in one direction. The one thing that truly knocked her over to the side opposite of what she wanted was the death of her uncle, a man she truly admired and looked up to.

He's what left her feeling like a painting flower: acting as if she was a real one, all pretty and unique in her own way. Just not real. And Harry was able to see right past that.
