Fubuki: "Y/N. I brought some documents for the new recruits for the Raging Bulls."

Y/N: "Thank you, Fubuki. Leave them on the desk."

Fubuki nodded and left it on her desk, he glanced to the side to see the photo sitting there. Fubuki quickly left the office and closed the door slowly and gave one last glance at her and left her alone.

Y/N sighed, placing her pen down. She looked over at the picture and picked it up. She still couldn't get over the accident. The photo has of her and Shu. Don't get them wrong, both of them were friends. Shu was originally the Raging Bulls Boss but passed away and she became the Boss since she was his assistant.

~ A FEW MONTHS AGO~

Shu: "So, what are you planning to do after today? You've got plans?"

Y/N: "I do, but it'll be real quick anyways. I have a blind date."

Shu froze at the word blind date and a small shadow cast over him, but quickly shook that aside and tried to change her schedule. Shu cleared his throat and placed a hand on her shoulder smiling at her, nervously.

Shu: "You think you can cancel your date?"

Y/N: "I can't. This girl is really persistent, actually."

Shu: "Okay⎯ Wait it's a girl?"

Y/N: "Yeah. I'm not really into girls but I don't think she will actually give up. Since she became a fan of mine because I'm your assistant."

Shu: "Why go on a date with you, though?"

Y/N: "I thought so too. I thought it was because she wanted some advice to woo you but apparently, she only came to me to confess."

Shu: "Um... okay."

Y/N: "This isn't the first time I rejected a girl. But, we can meet up at the usual. How does that sound?"

Shu sighed and nodded at her and both parted ways.

[R/G/N]: "W-What? Can you not consider my confession a few more days?"

Y/N: "I'm sorry, I can't. I've only just met you and I even a few dates won't help develop my feelings for you. So, have a nice rest of the day. I'll be taking my leave."

[R/G/N]: "W-Wait!"

Y/N got up, left some money on the table, and left the cafe, leaving the girl alone.

Walking her way to the usual spot at a beypark and waited for Shu to come. Minutes, and hours passed and the sky turned dark. Y/N called his number quite a lot but no answer.

Y/N: "Where is Shu? Why hasn't come yet? He also didn't answer his phone either. It's not like him to be late."

Just then, her phone rang. She quickly pulled her phone out to see Valt's name pop up on the screen.

Y/N: "Valt? Why is he calling?"

She answered the phone and the first she heard was a distorted voice from him.

Valt: "Y/N..."

Y/N: "Valt? What's going on? Why are you calling me?"

Valt: "Um... It's about Shu..."

Y/N: "Shu? Oh yeah, what happened to him? I'm waiting for him at our usual hangout but he hadn't come yet. Do you know where he is?"

Valt: "About that... Shu's..."

Now, Y/N had changed after Shu's death. Not all of herself changed herself. She becomes a real pain in the butt to people but not to her friends. She takes transport than taxis and busses because Shu died from a hit-and-run. A drunk driver was driving his car while drunkenly talking with his friends and didn't watch the road and that was when Shu got killed.

She held a grudge against those people for what they did to Shu. They paid compensation but that wasn't enough. She shook her head thinking of killing those people. She placed her hand on her head and got up to get a drink.

Y/N: 'What's gotten into me? Shu wouldn't like it if I got revenge just for my own sake and for him to rest peacefully.'

Once Y/N left the room, a white figure slowly appeared in the office holding something in its hand.

???: "Haaa... Y/N's spirit is going down. I need to brighten her up."

The figure struggling in his hand started to scratch him trying to escape his grasp but his grip was too strong.

Evil Spirit: "Shu Kurenai... you let go of me, right this instant!"

The white figure holding the dark figure was Shu Kurenai's spirit. After his death, he watched his friends let out their tears, especially Y/N. Before his life ended, he wanted to confess his love to Y/N on the day she went on the blind date. He didn't think he was going to get run over by a drunk driver and drove off leaving his cold body in the middle of the road.

Shu sighed, not wanting to remember the incident. Glaring his cold, red eyes at the spirit. He tightened his hand around its neck making it choke and scratch Shu's hand and arm even more.

Shu: "Shut up, you're annoying my friend quite a lot lately. I've warned you once. And I wasn't lying when I said I wasn't going to eradicate you to ashes. You won't be coming back again and appearing around Y/N again."

The evil spirit screeched in frustration and screamed in pain as Shu started burning it and watched it disappear in the air. Shu lifted his hand that burned that thing and turned it into a fist and disappeared to the location where Y/N was.

After Shu's death held a huge grief on Y/N, and her aura went down making many evil spirits suddenly stick to her like glue. Appearing left and right, Shu wanted to help Y/N, but unfortunately, Y/N is a human and didn't know Shu was acting as her guardian angel as his spirit was hanging around her.

Shu appeared in the training room to see Y/N training Fubuki and had Aiger, Valt and Ranjiro over. He stood next to them as he watched along with them and listened in on their conversation.

Aiger: "Is Y/N okay? It's been months since... you know."

Valt: "She's handling it left and right. She told me there's been a misfortune happening around her and went to therapy a couple of times, visited a monk and a church."

Ranjiro: "Wow, she must have it rough. Hey, didn't she get a letter from Shu?"

Valt: "Yeah. I gave her that letter after the funeral was coming to a close. But, I don't she read it yet."

Aiger: "Do you know what Shu had written for her?"

Valt stayed silent and looked at Y/N who was giving instructions to Fubuki and looked at Aiger with a hint of a smile.

Valt: "I have a hunch he said something he wanted. He wanted to give a letter to her and tell her something he wanted in the letter."

Ranjiro: "Well, what is it? Come on, tell us!"

Valt: "Not happening!"

Valt crossed his arms, holding his face high as Ranjiro and Aiger persisted with him. Shu smiled at his friends and looked at Y/N to see her looking at the group with a smile of her own. He was glad that she still has some humour in her.

Valt and Y/N waved goodbye to Ranjiro, Fubuki and Aiger and left the Raging Bulls to go back home.

Valt: "You're heading back home aren't cha? Want me to walk you back home?"

Y/N turned to Valt with a turned smile and nodded gratefully for his offer.

Y/N: "So, you noticed it, huh? But, I'd like that. Thanks, Valt."

Valt smiled and both walked off. Shu walked beside Y/N, even with Valt around protecting Y/N someone else is going to have to protect her from other things.

Valt: "So have you read it yet?"

Y/N: "... No. I have to say I'm... still not ready, yet. I still wish we could have hung out one last time."

Valt: "Hmm... I know what you mean. I feel the same way. But, you should really read that letter. I'm sure Shu wants you to read it."

Y/N looked at Valt and back down at the street. She heard Valt stop, making her stop and look over at him.

Valt: "We're already at your place. Want me to keep you company a little longer or are you fine by yourself?"

Y/N thought about it and shook her head and smiled at Valt.

Y/N: "Thanks, but I'll be okay and... I'll consider reading that letter. Shu might scold me for not reading his letter. He's always worried that I never reply to him."

Valt nodded and waved goodbye to her and walked towards his home. Y/N took her keys out, unlocked her door and headed inside.

Y/N was on her knees in her bedroom, holding a letter in her hand. She bit her lip and slowly opened the letter and started reading it in her head. Shu was kneeling behind her looking over her shoulder.

Shu smiled at his letter to Y/N to see how cringe he had written.

Shu: 'Maybe I should have written less.'

He looked up to see Y/N and let a gasp to see her face, tears streaming down her face. She bit her lip and quickly wiped her tears and her eyes looked around her room and back at her letter. Shu looked at her sadly and grabbed her hand despite her not feeling it, then suddenly Y/N jumped a bit as she felt something cold on her hand and wrapped it in her other hand to try and warm it up.

Shu: "Ah right!"

Shu removed it immediately and left Y/N to sit there questionably and looked back at the letter and smiled at it. She suddenly got up and left her house on quick footing. Shu quickly followed after her as she continued running out on the streets.

Footsteps stopped running on the soft ground as Y/N was breathing heavily on how fast she ran towards Shu's gravestone and slowly knelt down in front of it. She placed her hand, running her hand across his stoned name and weakly smiled as a small tear fell from her eye and took back her hand placing it on her lap. She opened her mouth but couldn't get a word out.

The last time she visited was at the funeral and when she visited with Valt. She didn't have the guts to face him or even read the letter.

Y/N: "... Shu... I'm sorry I didn't visit you when I had the time. I... I always thought that it was my fault that... you left. If I had declined the date and hung out with you instead things would have been different and you would still be here. And maybe... maybe we would have gone out. As you said you're the observer... I'm the actor."

Shu listened in on her words, hearing how sad she sounded.

Y/N: "I'm surprised you could even get shy. Heh, the cool-headed Shu Kurenai could even be shy. I would have loved to see you all flustered. I bet you look adorable. I would let you live through that."

Shu chuckled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

Shu: "Yeah, you definitely wouldn't let me live it down."

Y/N's head perked up and looked to her side where she heard a whisper. Shu looked surprised himself.

Shu: "Y/N?"

Y/N: "... Shu...?"

The two just stared at each other, or that's what they think. Y/N looked back at the ground and shook her head.

Y/N: "Who am I kidding? There's no way, Shu would be here. I must be going insane after closing myself in."

Y/N hugged herself and closed her eyes and took in a shaky breath and exhaled. She got up but not before giving a respectful bow to Shu and left the graveyard to her home. Shu watched her walk away and closed his eyes, facing his gravestone. Opening his eyes, eyes flashing red, he turned around to face the tree.

Shu: "Come out. I know you're there. There's no point in hiding anymore."

A black smoke came out from there, it held a sinister smile. Shu narrowed his eyes and his fist lit up bright red.

Shu: "This is getting really annoying."

Y/N stared at her room ceiling, her swollen eyes only looking into the darkness. She couldn't sleep now as she thought she heard Shu or even seen him.

Y/N: 'Was I going insane just now? Or was that really Shu...'

She turned in her bed, her mind thinking about earlier in the graveyard. She sighed in frustration and went to her kitchen to get a drink.

Y/N: "I need to get rid of that thought. Shu might get upset."

Shu was leaning against her kitchen wall as she got herself a hot chocolate/coffee/tea/water. Once she had gotten her drink she turned around to leave for the living room. She lifted her head up and widen her eyes up and let out a scream, making her drop her cup, shattering all over the kitchen floor. Shu suddenly stood up and walked over to Y/N, who suddenly took a step back. Shu lifted his hand towards her slowly.

Shu: "Y/N? Can you... can you see me? Hear me?"

Y/N: "I... I can't believe..."

Y/N's legs dropped to the floor as Shu rushed to her, kneeling by her side. Placing both his hands on her shoulders, made Y/N shiver. Did she really feel Shu hug her just now? She then slowly placed her hand on his face. This time it even sent shivers down his spine. He removed his hand from her shoulder, placing it over her hand that was placed on his cheek.

Y/N: "Shu...? Is that... really you?"
