look up, the sun is shining down,
it makes you want to embrace,
the nearest tree,
does it not?

look down, the grass plays beneath your feet,
the dew kissing them softly,
you want to rest your head,
do you not?

look to your right, a flower blooms slowly,
bursting with promise and colour,
you think about braiding your hair with them,
do you not?

look to your left, a bunny hops lazily by,
flinging caution to the wind,
it makes you wonder,
does it not?

you see, the directions are not,
north, south, east or west,
they lie in the beauty around you,
to your right and left, up and down.

chase your heart no matter where,
towards the grapevines or into a cornfield,
there is beauty waiting all around,
and yet we choose to ignore them.
