September 4th 1939

Robert was a turkish pilot that immigrated to America with his mom, brothers, and father. The great depression had ended a while ago but had affected lots of people.

What had affected Robert the most was Gerald dying. He'd been crushed to death by a train. He was still grieving his death.

When he heard about the army needing pilots, he decided to join. So he could fight for Gerald.

Robert looks at the commander as he'd instructed what to do. "Pilot Robert, you need to fly north and keep watch on any tanks or soldier 's" The commander says.

Robert nods, climbing into his plane. He turns to the commander as he was in the plane."Er, sir what if someone shoots my plane down?" Robert asks the commander .

"In case that does and you manage to survive, we'll bring backup. Call us on this small radio" the commander gives him a small radio.

Robert saluted to the commander and took off, flying to the north. As he was flying, he noticed a few french planes flying around.

"Interesting. But I need to keep going though" Robert says. He keeps heading north and looked down as he was flying.

He grabs the radio. "Sir, I don't see any enemy tanks or planes. Do you think it's possible they are hiding?" He asks.

"Hmm..I suppose so pilot. Keep heading north and keep safe" the commander says. Robert nods and puts it away.

A tank took notice of his plane. It moves the main gun up.

Boom

It shot at the plane. One hits his plane, hitting the engine. He panicked as his plane starts falling. He pulls the radio out.

"A tank hit my engine!. I repeat a tank hit my engine!. Im going down!" Robert yelled into the radio. It was falling closer and closer to the ground.

He closed his eyes and thought about seeing Gerald.

"At least i'll be able to see you, my love.." Robert says softly. Tears formed as his plane hits the ground causing the plane to explode from a fuel explosion, his body being completely destroyed.
