     𝕿𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐔𝐒𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐒𝐎 𝐌𝐔𝐂𝐇 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐎 𝐄𝐋𝐆𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍. Happiness was visible to her in every leaf of emerald green trees. She saw warmth in the yellow rays of the sun and love in the soft pink clouds of the evening sky. But that was before the Last Alliance of Men and Elves marched out to fight the Dark Lord Sauron. Before her father Gil-Galad, High King of the Elves of Ñoldor, was slain at the hands of Sauron himself. Now, the world seemed to grow darker with each passing day. Elgarain was left heir to a slaughtered people and daughter of a defeated king.

     At her mother's wishes the young Queen is sent to Rivendell to prepare her to take her father's crown. With her loyal guard Gyda by her side she sets out towards the hidden valley. And it was in Imladris, that she first met Aragorn, son of Arathorn. A banished king, heir to a kingdom in ruin, who shares her pain and her burdens. And it is with him that she first learns of peace and her heart finds rest between the wild storms of her history. But the weight of their bloodlines hangs over their young love like a thunderstorm and releases its fury far too soon. The two are ripped apart and left to wonder if their souls will ever find each other again.

     It is only when the darkness that her father died trying to extiniguish returns, that the two are reunited once again. In a hopeless attempt to destroy the Ring of Power and defeat Sauron once and for all, Elgarain sets out with ten companions and pledges to use her skills as a healer to help them in any way she can. Accompanied by Gyda, she tries to honor the legacy of her father. 

     Before she leaves, however, Lord Elrond gifts her with a family heirloom that might just determine the fate of their Fellowship. But the heir of Ñolder still has a lot of lessons to learn, a fact that Gyda won't stop trying to remind her of. One of them being how to face the man she had spend years trying to forget, years trying to convince herself that Aragorn no longer held a place in her heart. But elves only fall in love once and she had given her entire heart and soul to the crownless king. 

     And not even a ring of power could heal a broken heart.

     ELGARAIN is born in the second age, in the year 3390. She was 40 years old when her father died. Since ELVES age differently from HUMANS this age translates to 11 years old in human years. She is 3001 years old when she first met ARAGORN, who was 19 at the time. Elgarain is 3069 years old at the start of FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING.

°∴,*⋅✲✦ III. LORE

     VERY little is known about the use of the other rings of power in the established lore by TOLKIEN. In this story one of the three rings given to the elves, called VILYA, will be heavily featured. VILYA is also known as the RING OF SAPPHIRE, the BLUE RING, or the RING OF AIR. Though the exact powers of VILYA are not specified, it may have provided the ability to HEAL AND PRESERVE. I have given my OWN INTERPRETATION as to how this ring might work. Please note that I have also given MY OWN interpretation on the ÑOLDOR ELVES and GIL-GALAD'S FAMILY LINE. I have decided to stick to Tolkien's earliest versions, meaning GIL-GALAD will be FINGON'S SON in this fic. The same goes for some of the ELVISH spoken by the characters. Some writings are MADE BY FANS. Not everything will be accurate to TOLKIEN'S WRITINGS. So, please bear that in mind. This is, after all, A FANFICTION.

     I am so very excited to finally publish this book. I've wanted to write a Lord of the Rings fanfiction forever and I'm very proud of this plot and character. It's also been an absolute blast to create this series with -voidlegends and I'm so thankful for her support and imput on this project.      Honestly I've been in love with Aragorn since I first saw the movies and then when I read the books my crush only became worse lol. It was inevitable that I would write a story about him and I am so happy that I'm finally doing it. But I also wanted to give a shoutout to Meg95W for her amazing fanfiction Rain On The Mountain.
