milani loved sunday's. they were the perfect day to relax and enjoy yourself before the school day. she made it a statement for sunday's to belong to her.

the girl woke up at around ten o'clock and wasn't surprised she was the only one home, or at least awake. milani was sure silas was still asleep, his snores could be heard from outside his door. but she had no idea where monique was.

monique's suspicious behavior had been going on for a while, the sneaking out late, not telling milani where she was going, even getting a lock on her door.

the girl assumed maybe her older sister had a new boyfriend, but it didn't make sense for her to go to such great lengths when she already knew her sister's history of "lovers."

still, everytime she pushed, monique brushed it off. she decided she'd do something about it sooner or later.

not long after waking up, milani got a text from a certain someone.

elliot: hey :)
milani: what ?
elliot: so rude. wanna hang?
milani: ..with jules and rue?
elliot: no, just me and you

the girl frowned. she'd never hung out with him alone before. he sends another text.

elliot: send me your address
milani: i never said yes 🤨
elliot: too bad

she resists the urge to smile and finds herself actually sending him her address. she's scared, though. would it be awkward? knowing elliot, probably not.

milani decides she'll get put together. although it was a sunday, her usual day of rest, she didn't want elliot to see her in her early morning crust.

the boy arrives about five minutes after milani's done getting ready and she wonders how far he lives. with him knocking on the door, she finally leaves her room to answer.

milani spots silas at the table eating lucky charms, "why didn't you answer the door?"

he just shrugged and continued chewing.

opening the door, milani sees elliot for the first time in about a day and yet still finds herself giddy over his appearance.

in all honesty, his outfit wasn't anything special. but there was something about the way he carried himself that made him look so much better. milani was very intrigued and also very annoyed at how easily elliot could look so good wearing the simplest outfit.

milani doesn't greet him but pulls him through the doorway in hopes of staying out of silas' line of vision.

she fails.

"ooh, milani has a boy over," silas teased.

milani continued dragging elliot, "hey man!" elliot said before being pushed into her room with the door slammed shut. "that was rude, you know?"

"not even," it's the first thing she says to him.

"what? you want me all to yourself?" elliot does fake kissy faces and milani gives him a light shove.

the girl plopped onto her bed, "so why'd you wanna come over?"

elliot is still standing, observing her room. he stops in front of a red guitar that looks like what he would think of if he could create his dream instrument.

he ignored her question, "you play?"

"no, elliot, it's there for show." she says in a 'duh' tone. "yes. i play."

her sarcasm doesn't effect him, "you any good?" he teases.

she shrugs, "i'm sure you'll find out some day."

elliot continues to peer around her room. he notices some vinyls as well as a record player. he's sure his cousin has some.

"you like vinyls?"

"yeah, kind of. my dad got me on them when i was young."

he hums and he writes a mental note to steal some of his cousin's and give them to her on monday.

looking some more, he finds a wall of trophies and school awards. the seriousness ranges from honor roll to middle school valedictorian.

elliot feels like he's invading. but as milani watches him with no complaints, he feels comfortable asking "what are the trophies for?"

milani already knew what he was talking about, besides the fact that she was watching his every move.

"oh uhm, i used to do gymnastics." she tries not to give too much emotion when answering.

elliot decides he won't push her further with the question and takes a spot on the floor, letting his back lay against the foot of her bed.

"you can sit on the bed, you know."

elliot turns to her but shakes his head, "nah, it's okay. you sure your parents won't mind me being here?" he noticed the lack of people in the house and didn't want to seem like an intruder.

milani shakes her head, "no parents for them to mind,"

elliot winces a bit but doesn't want to push. milani has been a seemingly private person and the last time someone opened up to him was when him and rue were on drugs. he didn't want her to feel obligated to go further unless she wanted to.

"you're telling me you don't like cheese?" elliot gasped dramatically.

the girl giggles beside him, both of them sitting side by side on the ground now, "fuck no, it's sickening."

"i don't understand how i could trust you," he shakes his head.

"well it's true, elly." milani comes up with the name off top.

"elly?"

"yeah, like for elliot."

he rolled his eyes, "i know what it's for."

"then why'd you ask?"

"why can't i get a name like eli? it's more masculine."

she rolls her eyes in return, "because your name is pronounced elly-it not eli-it."

"i'm sure you have a few nicknames yourself,"

milani shrugged, "just ask jules, she'll tell you."

"so like," elliot paused thinking of if he should ask the question, "are they like, your best friends?"

"they who?"

"jules and rue,"

"rue is my cousin,"

elliot looks surprised and hums, "that didn't answer my question, though."

milani doesn't say anything for a second and elliot begins to regret pushing her before she shrugs her shoulders.

"i wouldn't say so, no."

he frowned, "why not?"

"i don't know. i just feel like," she breathed out, "like nobody really knows me, it's just like i'm in the shadows most of the time."

"but you're with them all the time."

milani doesn't think before trying to put her thoughts into words, "yeah, but i still don't feel like they notice me how i notice them. that's all i do, notice people and pay attention to them. i just feel like nobody pays attention to me, or even cares about me."

"i highly doubt that," elliot didn't want to invalidate her feelings but couldn't stop himself.

"and why is that?"

"because you're one of the most beautiful people i've ever met, inside and out. it'd be impossible not to notice you," he answered truthfully.

butterflies erupt in milani's stomach and she isn't sure if she wants to make a move or not. she can see his eyes flicking between hers and her lips.

her thought process is interrupted when someone busts through the door.

"hey lani, just wanted to tell you i'm—" both of their heads snap forward, "oh."

it's monique.

"hey, mo."

"hi milani, and, friend."

the girl turns to "friend" before speaking, "this is elly."

he rolls his eyes and sticks his hand out for her older sister, to which she shakes.

"i'm elliot, nice to meet you."

"monique. nice to meet you, too." she turns to milani, "can we talk real quick?"

milani nods and stands up, the two closing the door slightly to stand in the hallway.

"so who is he?" monique teased suggestively.

milani groans, "just a friend,"

"mhm, that's what they all say."

"where were you, mo?"

the question isn't surprising but she knows monique won't give her an acceptable answer.

"out," she huffed. "i needed to take care of a few things."

milani rolled her eyes, "i just don't understand. why don't you trust me?"

monique looked at her younger sister solemnly before giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"i'm sorry, kay?" and walked off.

milani groaned inwardly and outwardly, but tried not to think about it when pushing her door open.

as she opened the door, she noticed elliot was now on his feet. she wasn't ready for him to go.

milani walked up to him and he looked suspicious or guilty of something, "i should, start heading out."

"is it because of my sister? i promise you, she doesn't mind."

elliot shook his head, "no, it's just getting late and i haven't really been home all day, so."

with his eyes peering down at her, she felt upset and undetermined about what today meant for them.

"i'll walk you out,"

walking out the room, it could be noticed that monique was getting started on dinner and silas was doing homework in front of the t.v.

"is elliot staying for dinner?" monique called out.

"oh, no, i'm just walking him out." milani assured and monique shook her head in understanding.

"bye," elliot called out and monique waved, "bye to you, too, little man."

silas smiled, "see you!"

the two walked out the door and milani found herself under elliot's gaze again.

he wasn't much taller than her, but under his gaze, she felt small.

"so, i'll see you tomorrow?" she asked quietly.

his gaze didn't falter, "you can count on it."

she resisted the urge to smile but elliot did it for her.

leaning down, he pressed a quick kiss to her forehead before muttering "bye."

and again, for another time that day, butterflies erupted in her stomach. and they flew and fluttered as she watched him leave, without her.

AUTHOR'S NOTE:
omg crazy idea but like.. y'all should get me to like 200?!

but anyway this is saurrr long omg and i think elliot might be a little shit fr.

ufouria has really been stressing me out but ima keep up with this book, for now.

i want to do more chapters like this, that disregard some of the episodes and include stuff i like or want to explore. but there's a lot more to be said so next chapter will probably focus on elliot's internal feelings.

also, i be reading euphoria leaks and streets are saying elliot won't be explored so i might just make some stuff for him that i see fitting.

anyway, vote and interact please and thank you <3
