LOS ANGELES
bath time & bad words

Lavvie walked around her home, peaking into each room in hopes to find her husband and daughter. She could feel herself growing annoyed, having been searching for almost ten minutes now. She was surprised they'd kept quiet for this long, usually they'd lose merely seconds in. Then she heard them, Rory's adorable high pitched giggles and Dylan's quiet 'shushes' coming from the kitchen pantry.

Quietly walking over to the pantry, she swung it open, arms crossing over her chest as they both whined. "I win, bath time." Lavvie said, taking her daughter from her husband and carrying her to the bathroom, ignoring the immediate cries from the toddler. "Aurora, it is eight o'clock, you should already be in bed." Lavvie told her daughter, the child only crying out louder.

"Babe, babe- I've got her." Dylan said, walking into the bathroom, noticing his wife's growing irritation. Dylan kissed Lavvie's temple as she handed Rory over, leaving the bathroom to lay on the comfortable couch.

As Lavvie laid down, her phone began to ring from her pocket.

Without checking caller ID she answered, "what?"

"Lavender, it's Jamie." Lavvie immediately sat up, wishing she hadn't answered so harshly as she heard her managers voice.

"Jamie, I'm sorry, I was just trying to give Rory a bath and she was just being impossible." Lavvie apologized, her index and thumb squeezing the bridge of her nose—now upset with herself.

"That's understandable, my little ones never want to bathe either." Jamie laughed from the other end, Lavvie allowing herself to breathe at her new manager's understanding behavior.

"So, what'd you need?"

"Just wanted to remind you that filming for Hawkeye starts up next week, you've got your scripts right?" Jamie asked, Lavvie mentally cursed herself, realizing she'd be leaving her family for a few months.

"Yeah-yeah, I've got the scripts." Lavvie mumbled, feeling the tears of frustration hitting her eyes.

"Okay, just message me if anything comes up and we'll work around it! Dylan and Aurora are able to join as well since you have an apartment in New York during filming."

"Really? They never offered that before." Lavvie said, a small smile appearing on her face when she realized she could bring her family.

"Yeah, there will be a full time nanny on the job, so you can even bring her to set."

"That's awesome, thank you so much! I'm sure Dyl will be thrilled to know, usually marvel doesn't allow anyone on set." Lavvie said, standing from the couch and walking towards the bathroom. When she looked inside, she let out a short laugh, Dylan now completely drenched, his shirt thrown on the floor.

"I'm glad you and your family can be together, I got to go! I'll message you in the morning!" Jamie said before the line went dead. Lavvie shoved her phone back into her pocket, her irritable mood now gone as she admired her husband.

"Hey, baby, who was on the phone?" Dylan asked, Rory splashing him with the small pink cup she had.

"It was Jamie, she-" Lavvie cupped her mouth, laughing out as Dylan took the large cup he used for rinsing her hair and dumped it on her head. "Dylan! What the fuck?" Lavvie laughed, walking into the bathroom to make sure her daughter was okay—though she found it completely hilarious.

"Fawk!" Now Dylan was the one wheezing, his body falling back onto the floor at his daughter's attempt to swear.

"Aurora! No, no, we don't say that, thats a bad word." Lavvie rushed to say, lightly kicking her husband's side as he laid on the floor, laughing uncontrollably.

"Mommy says fawk." Rory pouted, looking from Dylan tgen pointing to her mother.

"Mommy says a lot of things she shouldn't." Lavvie responded, taking the soft pink, cat eared towel from the rack and wrapping it around the child.

"Daddy says poopy." Rory mumbled, now pointing to Dylan who was staring up at them from the floor.

"Daddy smells like poopy." Lavvie whispered to her daughter, sticking her tongue out to Dylan and leaving the bathroom.

"I heard that!" Dylan yelled out, Lavvie sneaking a quick middle finger to him as she walked into Rorys room. She quickly got Rory changed into her footies, Dylan already getting her sippy cup from the kitchen.

"Where sheppy and baba?" Rory asked sleepily, Lavvie quick to go into a panic when she'd realized the sheep wasn't in her room.

"I've got your sheppy and baba." Dylan sang as he walked in, Lavvie letting out a sigh of relief as he set them down into her bed.

It didn't take long for Rory to fall asleep, Dylan and Lavvie sneaking out of her room. They went right to the kitchen, taking out the pint of ice cream from the freezer and grabbing spoons. They did this most nights, put Rory to sleep, snuck ice cream and watched a film—it was part of their routine at that point.

"I want another." Dylan mumbled, his head laying on Lavvie's lap with the ice cream in his arms so they could both get it.

"There's mint chocolate in the freezer." Lavvie told him, sticking the spoon in her mouth and scrolling through Netflix.

"Not ice cream, Lav. I want another baby." She practically choked on her spoon at his words, her attention now falling to him. "Rory's almost two and if we start now we could-"

"Dylan, I love you and I love our child but we can't have another for at least a year. I have filming and I don't think they'd be too happy if I suddenly bloated like a fucking watermelon." Lavvie told him, his face falling to a frown but he nodded.

"Fuck, I forgot about that." Dylan mumbled, taking a big scoop from the ice cream and putting it in his mouth with a sad huff.

"Jamie said you can stay with me in New York while we're filming." Lavvie said, running her fingers through his hair. Dylan rolled to stare up at her, a wide smile appearing, only to fall again.

"I can't stay the whole time, I have to start filming in August." He told her, August only being a month away.

"And Rory?"

"I'm filming in LA so she can stay with me, but on the long day's she'll have to get a nanny or something." He answered, Lavvie nodding slowly with a frown.

"This sucks."
