Rocky Byers

The summer of 85' was one to remember.

After his little brother went missing, battling things that weren't suppose to exist, and finally getting things to fall into place again, this summer was suppose to be normal. Rocky didn't expect that running to the chiefs house, after Joyce forgot to pay the water bill and Rocky was in need of rinsing his dyed hair, would wrap him up in another horror story. He didn't expect to be right back where they started, he didn't expect to finally bond with Max Mayfield after the constant bickering they did the year prior.

Rocky was Lonny's second son, him and Joyce on a break when he met a beautiful woman that he got pregnant the first night they spent together. She passed in child birth, leaving his son with him to run back to Joyce and Jonathan, the happy family life being played out for as long as they could manage. A year later, Will was born, and they really had the ability to be happy, they had the ability to be a family. But, with Lonny Byers, that was nearly impossible.

Joyce managed to get custody of Rocky after the divorce, the only mom he'd ever had, the only parent really. After Lonny, a form of anger built up in Rocky. Jonathan and Will were gentle, easy, they expressed their hurt from their dad completely differently. Rocky was an angry kid, the smallest of things that reminded him of his dad setting him off. A mean kid at school, an arrogant senior, a staring man on the street. It didn't matter, if he was provoked, Rocky fought back.

Especially when it came to boys like Billy Hargrove, who's sister was just a year younger then Rocky and managed to get herself involved with Wills friend group. A girl that bickered with Rocky the entire time they teamed up to save his brother, a girl that cared and hated him all at once.

A girl who'd be the only one to truly understand him after a bonding experience in a hospital hallway.
