"FATHER HAS FALLEN ill and I have ascended to the throne, the burden now rests with me," Loki spoke carefully as he pulled back from his niece, taking her hands in his.

Odin, ill? It seemed a bit surreal. Sure, everyone had noticed how age had started to catch up to the Allfather, but this was soon. It was unexpected. Surely someone would've noticed some signs - surely this could be prevented.

The burden of the throne... That's when something clicked within Elain's head. Loki now was on the throne of Asgard. The one that was rightfully Thor's. Sure, she loved her Uncle Loki but this seemed a bit suspicious.

First, Thor's coronation was ruined by frost giants getting into the palace. Then, all of the males end up on Jotunheim. Which led to the banishment of both Thor and her brother before she was punished to stay on Earth with Thor.

She wasn't going to accuse Loki of anything. She'd never accuse him without any proof or evidence that could lead back to him. She was very certain that he'd never do such a thing. He always looked out for Asgard despite his jealousy for his older brother.

"What? Is Grandfather alright? How are you - how are you handling this?" The woman sputtered out questions.

"He... Elain, he didn't make it," Loki spoke and the girl felt a heavy wave of emotion hit her.

Tears welled in her eyes, she may be mad at him, but she'd never wish death upon someone, "What about Sirius? Did you ever find him?"

She noticed Loki's expression fell, "Uncle Loki, where is my brother?" Her voice wavered.

"I'm sorry, I truly am," Loki moved back away from her, "But I do not know. Father never - no one knows."

Elain went quiet. She turned away from Loki, refusing to look at him. How could he not try to find the location of her brother? How could he let the male be lost? It broke her heart.

"You haven't even looked for him," Elain's voice wavered as tears welled in her eyes, "You haven't told me anything besides how Grandfather is gone! You now have the throne, use that bloody power to find my brother!"

"I am afraid that it doesn't work like that," Loki sighed.

It was odd seeing her Uncle in the clothing of a different realm. His green coat and scarf made the girl cringe, but, that was not the point. She needed to know about her brother, and her Uncle didn't have any answers. Which to the girl made no sense.

If he was the Allfather, shouldn't he know? Wouldn't Heimdall know? There were many questions that ran through Elain's head. In due time, she'd receive the answers to her questions one way or another.

After all, Elain did have a snapping point and when it came to her family, she'd go to the dark side in a skinny minute. No one messed with her family, no one. She was extremely protective, to say the least - but she didn't want to lose anyone. Not again.

"Then use the abilities you have while in this position of power," Elain snapped.

"Sometimes we must give up."

Give up? Did Loki really just tell the girl to, give up? She was stubborn. She rarely stopped doing anything. She was beyond enraged with Loki's answers. It was notable as the lights began to get brighter.

"I'll come back for you soon, we'll find him together. But, for now, this is farewell," Loki's gaze burned the woman.

"I shall see you soon," Elain nodded her head as her gaze stayed locked with the table.

It didn't take much longer for him to disappear, nor did it take much longer for Clint Barton to come back. He moved to sit across from her. He seemed to notice the lights but made it a point not to question it.

"So, can you give me your basic information?" The man questioned.

"Well, what would you consider basic information here? I'm sorry, I'm still quite new to this realm," Elain looked at him with a soft - yet confused expression.

"Realm...? You know what, we can get into that later. Full name, date of birth, and where you live," Clint rubbed his forehead.

"Elain Lyra Rheadóttir, April 13, 1987. Asgard but currently around in New Mexico," She explained as she began to mess with her fingers.

Clint began to type away, though seeming confused, "You aren't in the database."

"I'm not of this realm," Elain explained as she stood up, though sitting back down when noticing Clint's alarmed state, "Sorry."

"Who are you really?" Clint didn't respond to the girl's words before throwing the question.

Elain furrowed her eyebrows, "That is who I am."

"Well, you aren't in anything," Clint stated as he showed the female the device screen.

Despite her confusion, she noticed how there was nothing. Which was true, she wasn't from this realm. So, logically, there wouldn't be anything.

"It's cause I am not from this realm," Elain sighed, "How can I prove to you that I am not lying?"

"I'm not sure," Clint spoke as he stood up, "I'll be back," and with that, he left again.

Clint seemed to have a knack for leaving. Elain stared off, her attention shifting rapidly as she tried to settle her mind, being rather bored and tired. Would they be mad if she took a nap?

The girl rested her head against the table. Her cheek pressed against her forearm. Her eyes dropped as her eyelids got heavier and heavier.

It wasn't long before she succumbed to the darkness that her body had so longed for, and it felt good.

Elain had been left behind to S.H.I.E.L.D. which wasn't so bad. She made friends with some of the agents and helped explain what she could. A day or two had passed since Thor had left and the incident with his hammer had happened, Elain stood behind one of the agents as everyone began to move.

"What the hell was that?" Coulson came into the room quickly.

"I don't know, sir. We got  massive energy readings out of nowhere," The agent beside Elain states in shock, "And then they just disappear!"

"Fifteen miles due northwest," Another agent answers as the group move over to him.

"Let's go take a look," Coulson states before taking Elain's arm and helping her out.

So far, everyone had been nice to Elain. They occasionally asked her questions but unlike Jane and her crew, they never made her look insane. And they respected her boundaries.

Elain entered the car with Coulson and rested against the seat. She didn't say anything but smiled. She wondered if the Bifrost had opened again. It was the most probable explanation. It would make sense with the energy readings.

Elain watched from the vehicle as the agents began to take a look around the area where the Bifrost had once let someone through to. Though, in seconds a storm started to brew. Dark clouds filled the sky before a whilst took over the air.

Elain was quick to get out of the vehicle and look up at the sky. She knew that this wasn't a good sign. She turned back to the vehicle and watched as the cup in the window began to shake.

"That's not good!"

In an instant, Elain's eyes widened when the dust cleared and revealed the Destroyer. Her hand went to her mouth as fear ran through her.

"Guys, I need to go but I promise to keep in contact!" Elain yelled before taking one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s vehicles attempting to leave.

"Is that one of Stark's?"

"I don't know. The guy never tells me anything."

Elain managed to figure out how to use the vehicle, she turned around really quick and began to speed off. She drove as fast as she could and as recklessly as she could. She needed to get back to town, that is surely where Thor would be.

That's where Jane was and wherever Jane was, Thor was in toe. She knew that and she knew that well. So all she had to do is find Jane and thankfully she seemed to remember her ways around and what places looked like based off of memory.

She drove for what seemed like hours before she made it to town, though, she crashed into a light pole behind her Uncle and his friends. Wait, his friends! They must have been the ones to come from the Bifrost. Maybe there was hope after all.

Elain exited the vehicle with a groan, "Flying white bags. UNCLE THOR! It's the Destroyer!" She yelled as she scrambled over to the group.

"I'm staying here, Elain! Where have you been? I was getting worried," Thor looked at his niece before placing a hand on her.

"Thor's going to fight with us," One of Thor's friends spoke, Elain was sure it was Volstagg.

"My friends," Thor pulled his niece over, "I'm just a man. I'll only be in the way, or worse, get one of you killed. But I can help get these people to safety."

"I can help fight. I'm trained and I can use my abilities," Elain spoke to Sif, "I'll fight and protect these people as well as my Uncle Thor."

"Well, if you're staying then I am," Jane spoke as she looked up at Thor.

"We'll need some time," Thor spoke as he grabbed Jane and moved.

"You'll have it," Fandral spoke.

Everyone began to run to different areas. Dispanding to get as much ground covered as possible. Elain ran into multiple shops alerting people of the dangers. She helped unload cars of kids, before she noticed one near the path of the destroyer.

"Elain!" She heard someone yell at her as she ran to the child, easily scooping the small boy up before running from the fire.

She gave him to a group of people in a safe zone before giving them a soft look, "Run. We'll hold them off for as long as possible."

Different people looked around before nodding, "Thank you."

"It is my pleasure to keep you all safe," She gave a small smile before running back to battle.

She watched as the Destroyer blew up a Seven-Eleven with a grimace. The flames exploding everywhere. This town was going to be damaged beyond repair by the end of this. Hogun looked at the woman who gave a small nod.

"For Asgard!" Volstagg screamed before being launched by the other two males, but the Destroyer threw him right back.

Elain's eyes widened and she was quick to summon energy when seeing how close to was getting to Volstagg. She watched as Sif jumped on it and stabbed threw it, but it easily ruined her attack. It shot a beam of fire and sent her to the ground.

She watched as the group ran and she caught up with them before watching a beam of fire come their way. She tried to redirect it, celestial energy pushing off as much of the fire as it could without hurting Elain herself.

Though, she ended up being no match as it sent another blast, sending her back into the glass and concrete of a shop. She let out a small groan as she got up, cuts littering her arms and her face a bit busted.

"Oh fuck this," Elain cussed as she caught her breath, "I really hate this thing."

She barely moved for a moment, her eyes trying to find the others in the smoke. It took a bit but she found the Destroyer, standing in all off it's horrid glory. She knew that it wasn't going to stop till it eliminated whatever it had been sent to eliminate.

Elain watched as Thor ran to Sif. She was immediately on her feet, despite the pain shooting through her body. She was quick to leave the shop although she struggled. She watched as the Destroyer sent a beam of fire at the two, Elain used her abilities and caught the car that nearly crushed her Uncle.

She watched as he ran in her direction, pulling her over to the other asgardian's. She was panting and winced as his grip dug into one of her many wounds. They needed to do something and do something quick.

"You must return to Asgard. You have to stop Loki," Thor spoke to his friends, causing Elain to do a double take.

"What about you?" Fandral asked his old friend.

"Do not worry, my friends, I have a plan," Thor moved his gaze to his niece, "You shall stay. If you fight here," She could tell that he was being wary about letting her fight.

"Come on," His friends began to leave and take the others.

"I can fight, Uncle Thor. I'd rather not fight against, Uncle Loki, though. My heart would not be able to bear it - I have nothing to lose at the moment. No one knows where my brother is, and I will fight for you. You are my Uncle and you would always help me when I needed help," Elain spoke with a stern tone.

"Then fight we shall," Thor looked down at his niece before the two turned.

Thor began to walk out in front of the Destroyer and Elain followed. Thor took her hand in his as both walked into the line of danger. Honestly, Elain wasn't quite sure what they were doing. This isn't how she wished to die.

Elain squeezed her Uncle's hand as they got closer and closer to their doomed fate. The girl's heart began to race with anticipation. This could be it, correction, this would be it.

"Brother, whatever I have done to wrong you, whatever I have done to lead you to do this, I am truly sorry. But these people are innocent. Taking their lives will gain you nothing," Thor spoke aloud knowing that Loki could hear him.

"Uncle Loki, this isn't going to help gain whatever you need. Please, stop this madness. I'm not ready to die yet - there is so much I have yet to do, but, if you wish to kill Uncle Thor, then I shall die by his side. I refuse to fight against you. I refuse to go against any bit of my family. I will never have favorites but I won't let any of you die. And if you die, we die together," Elain stammered out as she took a sharp inhale of air.

Thor and Elain had made it to the front of the Destroyer. She watched as it's horrid face began to open, getting ready to obliderate both of the gods. Elain couldn't help but get emotional. If her brother was alive, she'd be leaving him with the pain of her passing. If he wasn't, she'd be living with the pain of his passing. No matter what she'd do in these next moments, someone would be hurting.

"So take mine," Thor spoke aloud.

"Ours," Elain was quick to correct her Uncle.

"And end this," Thor spoke once more.

She watched as the flames brewed in the face of the Destroyer before his face molded back and the flames disappeared. Her breathes began to even as it turned away, before it hit Thor and threw him back.

Elain let out a yell of horror before she was quick to soften her Uncle's fall. She turned back to look at the Destroyer and her gaze hardened. Her vision turned red with anger.

"Uncle Loki! Stop this! Now, I swear if you do not when I come back to Asgard I will challenge you for the damn throne!" Elain yelled at the sky as she began to lose control.

She turned to see Elain over her Uncle's body. She couldn't help but fear of the loss that they'd be taking. Tears rolled down her face as her hands covered her mouth. Every light began to shatter as Elain lost all control she had.

She felt a pair of arms wrap around her body, holding her tightly. Elain cried into the familiar arms, knowing that it was Sif. That was until she heard something, and her eyes widened as Thor caught his hammer and thunder struck down on the earth in that moment.

"He's okay," Elain sobbed out in glee.

She watched as he regained his asgardian clothes. She moved out of the way with Sif who pulled her from the Destroyer's line. Occasionally, she'd turn back to watch whatever was happening behind them.

Finally, when she was a safe distance away she stopped and watched what was happening. Watching the tornado in the center of the town roar with thunder as it occasionally would light up. She could hear the distress and a loud bang, but finally it settled.

She watched as the Destroyer hit the ground and Thor walked out of the dust. A smile rested on her lips.

"We must go to the Bifrost sight," Thor spoke before Elain waved her fingers and her asgardian appearal resided on her body once more, it felt good to be in her home clothing, "I must have a word with my brother."

"Excuse me!" Coulson's familiar voice made Elain turn and smile.

"Agent Coulson! What lovely timing," She smiled kindly.

"Donald, I don't think you've been completely honest with me," He spoke as he smiled back at Elain before looking back at Thor.

"Know this, Son of Coul. You and I, we fight for the same cause, the protection of this world. From this day forward, you can count me, us, as your ally. If you return the items you have taken from Jane," Thor spoke as he pointed to his niece before grabbing Jane.

"Stolen," Jane shot.

"Borrowed," Selvig states.

"Of course, you can have your equipment back," Coulson nods at the female, "You're gonna need it to continue your research."
