chapter fifty-eight

the downfall

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  JORDANNA SIGHED AS she glanced in the mirror of the spare room, her eyes glued to where Cami's corpse lay. No one had moved her yet. She was lying there, dead, underneath a sheet. Discarded.

"We really need to move her body," Jordanna voiced softly, turning around to lean against the vanity as she stared at Naomi, who stood by the bed, looking down at Cami.

When she gave no response, Jordanna sighed but left it. She met Klaus' eye from the other side of the room, but he gave a mere shrug in answer. They both knew to tread lightly, but at some point, something had to be done. They couldn't just leave her there, it wouldn't be right.

Jordanna turned, continuing to clean the room โธป after Cami had passed on, Naomi had a moment. She near enough smashed up everything in the room, and she got it, she understood her. Jordanna's feelings towards Cami's passing didn't hold a candle to Naomi's, but, she still felt this feeling in her gut โธป she couldn't put her finger on it, exactly, maybe it was devastation or maybe it was guilt, guilt that they could've done more for her, that Jordanna could've done more.

Instead of being the spiteful, insecure bitch that she was towards Camille, she could've helped her โธป helped her through her transition, though, it wasn't Jordanna's responsibility, she had to remind herself.

Just then, footfalls were heard and Klaus and Jordanna craned their heads towards the doorway, watching as Hayley made her way into the room, an old, large book held in hand. They were thankful for the intrusion because the tense atmosphere was beginning to become too much.

It felt like someone had died- wait.

"You've got it?" Klaus questioned, unfolding the arms that were crossed over his chest as he went to reach for the book, only for Naomi to rise from her seat and snatch it out of Hayley's grip.

Hayley's face dropped lightly before she nodded, "Jack wrote down everything your father told him about the ancient werewolves. I've read it. I don't think there's anything in there that's gonna help us kill Lucien, though."

"Of course there isn't," Jordanna grumbled bitterly, pushing her hair away from her face before a defeated sigh left her lips in a huff. "Nothing's gone our way so far, why would it now?"

"We got Aurora, didn't we?" Hayley offered with a light shrug. "We'll get Lucien... I just don't think anything in there will help us do that."

"Something'll be in there," Naomi interjected, voice cracking as she flickered through the pages, mindlessly looking for something. Jordanna eyed her shaky hands, and the cracked skin surrounding her nails.

"Nai.. I know that Cami wanted an Irish wake," Hayley began to say, nervously twisting her wedding ring around her finger. "I can- I can make the arrangements."

"No, Hayley," Naomi shook her head, voice harsh as she glared up at the brunette. "There's no time. We don't have time to waste planning parties, we need to stop Lucien. Everything else can wait, okay? Right now, Lucien needs to die."

Hayley met the couple's eyes before she swallowed and nodded, "Yeah... okay."

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Whilst Jordanna and Hayley were upstairs, trying to distract Naomi, Klaus had made his way downstairs into the courtyard and had learned that not only did Cami die last night, but so did Davina.

Kol had killed her due to being cursed by the witches who wanted to enact their revenge on the young girl.

Witches and their revenge fantasies, cue dramatic eye-roll.

Klaus thought it best not to tell Jordanna just yet. After all, they were working on a way to bring Davina back โธป what was the point of telling her, bringing her that pain, if they were just going to bring her back, right? It was wishful thinking, but he knew Jordanna would be pissed either way, this way, he was just sparing himself a few short hours.

"I'll draw Davina's spirit to a circle. As long as she's there, the Ancestors won't be able to torment her. With luck, that will buy you some time to resurrect her, but I'll need to channel an original if I'm going to sustain the spell," Freya began to say, looking between her siblings.

"Well, take me," Kol spoke up, he looked tired, like the grief and guilt of killing her had overtaken his entire being. "Put me down for all I care, if it keeps her safe."

Freya softly shook her head, "No, you've been marred by the Ancestor's magic, so, Klaus, Elijah.. rock, paper, scissors."

Suddenly, before either brother could offer themselves up, all of the candles which were strewn out over the table flared up high, and everyone jumped back at the intrusion.

Elijah's brows creased, he lifted a hand and grazed over his stubble slightly, "That can't be good."

No shit, Jordanna thought to herself as she and Hayley listened in from the top of the stairs, bodies laid out flat on the ground as they peered down at them from the balcony.

They didn't mean to spy, but when she heard the words Davina and resurrect in the same sentence she grabbed Hayley by the wrist and dragged her to the floor.

"My early warning systems," Freya explained, worry coaxing her tone as she watched the candles slowly die down. "I think a New Orleans witch is trying to meddle with one of you."

"Lucien has the new Regent at his beck and call. It's me he's coming after," Klaus began to say, sure of his words โธป only to be defied as Rebekah's portrait that hung on the wall suddenly caught fire.

Freya spun around at the sound of crackling and waved a hand, watching as the charred painting of her sister stared back at her, "No. He's going after Rebekah."

"He's kicking hornets' nests, until we have no choice but to confront him," Klaus grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest as though he was a stroppy toddler.

"Presumably, he still believes she's at the bottom of the ocean," Elijah added, glancing between the three in thought.

"I cloaked all of you, but with the Ancestors working for Lucien, it may take a while, but if he wants to find Rebekah, he will."

"I'll go get her," Klaus offered, quickly moving to do so, but he was stopped at the sound of Freya's voice calling out after him.

"It's not safe out there!" Freya yelled out, frowning as he paused, she sighed and ran a hand through her blonde locks.

"What then?! Are we to sit here and play cards until Lucien slides Rebekah's bitten corpse down the hall?" He asked sarcastically, getting tired of sitting around and waiting.

"Let me go," Elijah said, tone implying that his decision was final before he moved off to do so but Klaus grabbed him by the material of his suit jacket, stopping him in place, he turned his brother to face him.

"I moved her," Klaus revealed, at the look of shock on Elijah's face, a small smug smile coaxed the hybrid's expression. "What? Don't look so surprised. I never did like you two sharing secrets."

Elijah gave his brother a flat, unamused glare at his words, "Tell me where she is, unless you expect me to stay here and leave our sister entirely defenceless."

Klaus pulled a face at his brother's words. Why was he under the impression Klaus wasn't going to go get her? He did just say he'd go. But then again, it was Klaus, he wasn't surprised Elijah doubted him. Annoyed, but not surprised.

"I expect you to prevent Kol from suffering a loss," Klaus told Elijah, sparing a glance over at their youngest brother. "I'll go, I don't particularly want to be here when Jordanna finds out that Davina is dead โธป more specifically that I knew and did not tell her."

Asshole.

As Klaus made his way outside, he approached the car with a stoic, determined expression on his face, just as he went to reach for the car door, a manicured hand slapped down against it โธป stopping him.

Fuck, he thought.

"I don't particularly wanna be here when Jordanna finds out,'" the Jones grumbled, repeating his earlier words with a clenched jaw. "Didn't feel like telling me she was dead, no?"

"Jordanna..." Klaus trailed off, looking towards Hayley for help who slowly made her way over to the pair, shoving her hands into her pockets, she shrugged as he looked at her for help as if to say, you're on your own, buddy. "How'd you even-?"

"How'd I find out? Cause you tend to speak loud when you're on a power trip," she snapped, jaw tightening. "Davina's dead? Rebekah's in trouble? The hell is going on, Nik?"

"If I could just.."

"If I could just," she grumbled, voice deepening to mock his own. "No, you can't. We're coming with you, and you're gonna tell me what the fuck happened with Davina, and if you even say that we aren't, I'll kick you in the balls so hard that not even your vampire or werewolf healing will soothe the pain."

"Plus, may I remind you, that I know every inch of that Bayou. Now, unless you want to be delayed by an angry werewolf with a shotgun, you should just admit that you need us," Hayley spoke up before adding, "Before Jordanna kicks you in the balls, that is."

Klaus' face fell flat and he looked between the pair, he hated when they ganged up against them, he felt like a child, but he also knew he wasn't going to win this argument, not when they were concerned.

Klaus never won an argument against Jordanna, he had gotten used to it by now, he didn't like that, but what could he do?

"I'm driving," he grumbled in defeat, moving to open the car door, only to be stopped, once again โธป Jordanna reached out, snatching the keys from his palm before pushing past him.

"Like hell you are."

ใƒปโฅใƒป

ย  ย  Jordanna, Klaus and Hayley trudged through the depths of the Bayou, looking for Rebekah's body. Though the former's mind wasn't on the current situation at hand, she was, surprisingly, thinking about Cami.

She couldn't imagine how Naomi felt. It made her think of how she'd feel if she lost Klaus, everyone who knew Jordanna, knew that she didn't get sappy or emotional, she didn't talk about her feelings โธป and if she did, she got heavily uncomfortable.

But, even thinking about losing him... she'd lose her mind, and if Lucien had anything planned, she'd be damned if she let it happen.

The Jones was snapped out of her daydreaming when Hayley's irritated voice spoke up. "Put it on speaker," she snapped, glaring over at Klaus.

Jordanna's face scrunched up lightly โธป she hadn't even realised that Klaus was on the phone. Reaching forward, she snatched the device out of his hand and clicked it on speaker before shoving it into his chest.

Klaus rolled his eyes at her actions and threw his arms up in dismay, but carried on with his conversation, only his voice held an irritated grumble to it, "And Freya is certain this power will be enough to kill Lucien?"

"Yes," Elijah's voice crackled through the speaker. "But we'd be placing Davina in terrible danger. The only thing protecting her from the Ancestors is Freya's circle. Now, if it is broken..."

Jordanna's face formed a scowl at the suggestive tone in Elijah's voice and she came to a stop, causing the pair to falter. She, once again, snatched the phone out of Klaus' hand, "Well, it better not get broken then. Davina stays inside that circle until we figure out how to get her back and kill Lucien."

"She's just a kid, Elijah," Hayley added, shaking her head at him even suggesting this.

"What choice do we have?"

"The choice not to kill a kid?" Jordanna retorted sarcastically, frustration bubbling in her chest.

Klaus was silent for a moment before he spoke up, "No. Find another way. If we destroy Davina, we lose both Kol and Marcel. I won't have us all turning on each other. Keep looking, brother."

Once Klaus had hung up on Elijah, the three continued walking and Jordanna had this gnawing panic brewing in her stomach.

Klaus slowed his pace and grabbed Jordanna's wrist whilst doing so โธป prompting her to do the same. Hayley turned her head briefly and her eyes flashed with understanding, so she kept up her pace in front, leaving the couple to talk behind.

"What's going on in your head?" Klaus asked, voice low ( even though it didn't stop Hayley from hearing them, Jordanna appreciated the effort ).

"I... I don't know. I mean, what the Hell is going on, Nik? Everything with Aurora and Lucien... Cami dying, then Davina..." she sighed lightly, running a hand through her hair. "It's one thing after another."

"Davina will be fine," Klaus assured her, "I'm sure Kol has, more or less, threatened Freya into finding a way to bring her back, and as for Lucien, it will all be over soon, that I can assure you."

"I call bullshit," Jordanna muttered, trudging through the Bayou. She scowled, glaring down at her feet through the tint of her expensive sunglasses. "I mean, look at my shoes for crying out loud. You know what that is? A sign?"

Klaus pursed his lips and his eyes briefly flickered down to her feet, "Your shoes having a bit of mud on them is a sign? Jordanna, it's a sign for you to not wear heels in the Bayou, not a sign that something is going to go wrong."

"Trust me on this โธป the day my mom died, there was mud on her shoes, the day I gave birth, mud on my shoes-"

"Perhaps you need to stop wearing your shoes in places that aren't made for heels."

"Or, it's a sign."

"I very much doubt it," Klaus grumbled.

"No, she's right," Hayley chimed up, sparing a quick glance over at the pair โธป Klaus gave her an unamused look. "There's always signs when something goes wrong."

"Told you," Jordanna gave Klaus a smug smile.

"There may be signs, Jordanna, but I very much doubt it's your shoes," Klaus argued, sending her a pointed look โธป to which she responded with a wry look.

"I'm sorry, I just can't understand you, language barrier and all," Jordanna brushed off, a tight smile on her face.

"You're being ridiculous," Klaus mumbled in irritation, shaking his head lightly.

"Che cosa?"

"Oh, that's mature."

It wasn't long after when the trio retrieved Rebekah's coffin and loaded her into the trunk of the car โธป well, Klaus and Hayley loaded her into the car, Jordanna sat on a tree stump, mindlessly texting Bonnie.

The three then got back into the car and began to head back to the compound, in light of the things going on around them, Jordanna's mind was on other things. "What about Vegas?" She asked, angling her head to face the hybrid behind the driver's seat.

"You want to get married in Vegas?" Klaus turned to look at her, eyebrows raised in surprise.

"Mhm," she nodded, pulling the sun visor down and sliding the mirror open, "Why not? Get drunk, get married by a knockoff Elvis..."

"I met him, I wasn't that big of a fan," Klaus shrugged, an unimpressed frown sat on his face.

"Okay, so a knock-off Cher then," Jordanna rolled her eyes dramatically as she looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes sliding over to meet Hayley's in the backseat. "Hayley stop, I can hear you cracking your knuckles and it's grating on my ears, what's wrong?"

"Nothing," the Marshall denied with a shake of her head, a fake smile sat on her lips โธป but Jordanna wasn't convinced.

"You thinking about Elijah?" The raven-haired vampire asked, eyebrows raised expectantly.

Hayley hesitated for a moment, "No- well, yeah, but-"

"The prophecy is still upon us and my brother's immortality suddenly seems quite fragile. Talk to him, Hayley, stop wasting your time," Klaus huffed from the driver's seat, whilst he was always up for a bit of gossip, he was growing tired of the song and dance between Hayley and his brother.

"I pushed him away for so long, what if... what if he doesn't..."

"He does," Jordanna coaxed as she slid the mirror on the visor shut. Just then, Klaus' phone lit up, Jordanna picked it up and showed it to the hybrid in the back. "It's him."

She handed the phone over to Hayley and watched her hesitate. The Jones rolled her eyes and turned to face her fully, "So help me God, Hayley if you don't answer that-"

But before Jordanna could finish her sentence and before Hayley could answer the phone, a large black SUV crashed into the side of the car, sending it flipping.

Oh, hell.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

Jordanna was the first out of the three to wake up. She winced, feeling something in her stomach and lifted her head up with as much strength she could muster. A broken piece of wood from the fence they had crashed into protruded out of her stomach.

Her face twitched as something tickled her face, and she lifted a hand, pads of her fingers stroked against her skin, pulling her hand back, it was a familiar yellow powder โธป one that halted her magic.

An irritated sigh left her lips as she turned her head towards the car, Hayley was knocked out in the backseat and Klaus in the front. Not to mention her sunglasses were broken on the side of the road, they were expensive as hell โธป ignoring the fact that she, of course, didn't pay for them.

Before she could make a move to pull out the piece of wood, a hand, a much stronger grip, held the wooden slab, pushing it further into her gut. She winced and found Lucien stood over her, a malicious smile on his lips.

"Hello, love," he crooned, a sadistic look on his face as he watched her wither in pain. "I was hoping Klaus would wake first, but you're just a sight for sore eyes, aren't you?"

Jordanna gritted her teeth and threw her head forward as best she could, causing Lucien to stumble back in surprise. When his grip on the wooden slab faltered, she grabbed it and ripped it out from her stomach, holding it in her hands she swung it towards him, successfully smacking him across the face with it.

He laughed manically at the action and threw a punch in her direction.

Jordanna wasn't a fool, she knew that Lucien was stronger than her โธป he was an upgraded original and he was older than her, she had merely been a vampire for two years and without her magic, she was rendered useless.

But she was gonna fight like hell, after all, it was Jordanna โธป she'd go down fighting.

So, she vamp-sped towards the abandoned house by the road, hoping that she could find something in there that would help her, but to her luck, she wouldn't.

Lucien was quick to follow her, appearing behind her hastily. He lifted his hand and his fingers locked into her hair, using his new found strength he smashed her head into the counter repeatedly.

Jordanna internally groaned and thanked the gods above for her vampire-healing, otherwise, her nose would've been so screwed.

Quick to grab the first thing on the counter, her hands blindly searched for something... anything to use and she soon found an old, metal pan. Turning her body best she could, she flipped around in his hold and hit him across the head, allowing herself to step out of his grasp.

"Pissed at me 'cause I gutted your girlfriend?" She asked through a sadistic laugh, crimson stained her teeth. "She's a screamer, but I guess you didn't get far enough to find that out, did you?"

That seemed to rile him up. As much fun it was antagonizing him, she soon realised it was a mistake as he sped toward her, skinny fingers wrapped around her neck tightly.

He glowered down at her and anger sparked in his eyes. "That mouth of yours is going to get you killed," his words were sharp, tone dark. "When Nik wakes up, he'll have the pleasure of watching you die, and trust me when I say this, it'll be a painful death for a pathetic girl like you."

"Aggro, much?" Jordanna choked out the best she could, voice strained against his hold.

But Lucien merely rolled his eyes and with a simple move of the hand, snapped her neck.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

When Klaus finally awoke, his first thoughts were Jordanna.

He looked around, but to no avail, she wasn't to be seen. He could hear Hayley breathing in the back of the car, but that wasn't his top priority, there was no Jordanna.

He pulled open the car door and stumbled out, shoes hitting the ground harshly. He blinked feverishly as the blood from his head trickled down into his eye. He lifted a hand and brushed it away before using his vamp-hearing to listen.

An eerie whistle was heard and his body tingled with rage. Lucien, he sneered to himself. He stumbled towards the noise, not taking a second thought about the brunette in the back.

He rounded the small abandoned house in front of him and headed toward the backyard, overgrown grass brushed against him as he trudged his way towards Jordanna and Lucien.

His anger seemed to grow once he caught sight of what was in front of him. A crimson-covered Jordanna, barely standing, met his eye. Lucien behind her, hand inside her chest, tightly clutching her heart.

"Oh, well, a king and his queen caught by a one-time pawn. Thus the game comes to its inevitable end," Lucien taunted Klaus as the dirty blond grew closer.

Who the hell talks like that nowadays? Jordanna wanted to say, but strayed from further pissing off the man who literally held her life in his hands.

"What are you proving by killing her?" Klaus said through gritted teeth, anger obvious. "It's me you hate."

"Was I not clear when I murdered Finn and Camille? I don't care who dies!" Lucien yelled, his grip on Jordanna's heart tightened just the slightest and she winced. "But since you do, indulge me and I might just spare the mother of your child. Kneel! Get on your knees! I can feel her heart pounding in my fist. Do you really want to measure your pride against my mercy?"

But it wasn't a matter of pride, not for Klaus, not now. He didn't care what he did, he didn't care who he hurt โธป either it be others or his ego, he didn't care as long as she was safe.

He would let the world burn to ashes before he let anyone hurt her.

So, without a second thought, the original kneeled and bowed his head. However, it didn't last long as Elijah and Freya appeared behind Lucien.

Elijah grabbed Lucien and threw him aside carelessly โธป his grip around Jordanna's heart faltered as he did so.

Klaus took a step toward her before she could stumbled to the ground, his hand clasped around her arm and he pulled her into him. "You okay?" He asked, loud enough so that she could hear him over Freya's chanting. His eyes flitted up and down her face in worry, worry that he bit her. "He hurt you?"

"Only my ego," she grumbled, head resting on his shoulder as she watched everything unfold before her. But her mind went straight to Hayley, was Hayley okay?

Lucien screamed, withering on the ground in pain. His hands reached up to clutch at his head as an agonizing pain shot through his skull.

"His power's gone. He's nothing but an ordinary vampire now," Freya said, cold eyes settling on the man as she lowered her hands.

Klaus gave Jordanna's arm a comforting squeeze before he moved past her, heading to the man on the ground. "You see that family drama you so joyfully derived does have its merits," an amused smirk pulled at his plump lips.

"You can kill me but the prophecy still stands, you cannot outrun it," Lucien seethed, spitting blood at Klaus' feet, though the Mikaelson only rose an amused eyebrow.

"I've heard about 1000 years too much from you. For a century you lived with my name and you never did quite recover from losing it, did you? You became a man of wealth and stature, but you never could crawl from my shadow, and in the end, despite the gift of immortality, you have always known what you truly are," a sadistic smile pulled at Klaus' lips as he glowered down at the man. "You are nothing," he spat slowly, words cutting into Lucien like a sharp knife.

Elijah rounded Lucien's figure and grabbed a hold of his arms, keeping him in place whilst Klaus looked around for something. A shard of glass glimmered in the depths of the grass and he crouched down to pick it up.

Inspecting it between his fingers, his smile grew as his eyes slid up to meet Lucien's, who, now, looked fearful as ever. Klaus rose to a stand and grabbed Lucien by his greasy hair, pulling his head back.

The younger vampire winced as the jagged edge of the glass met his skin. Flashes of awful memories kissed his mind as Klaus cut into his skin just as Tristan did those many years ago.

Klaus then reached forward and stuck his hand into Lucien's chest, like the latter did to Jordanna and he viciously ripped his heart out before dropping it to the ground.

It was only a few minutes later when Lucien's body was in flames and the four, now joined by Hayley, stood around his body and watched him burn.

Klaus turned to Jordanna, focusing on her face. Her brows furrowed and her mind elsewhere โธป she looked to be thinking.

Klaus wanted to make a quip but settled against it. She didn't look too happy and his jokes may further irritate her. Instead, he silently lifted a hand to her jaw and tilted her head up.

His eyebrows furrowed in a silent question. She looked up at him, meeting his gaze at the sudden touch, suddenly feeling much better, but something still brewed in her stomach.

She lifted her hand and squeezed his for a moment, turning her head lightly she pressed a brief kiss to his palm before moving out of his hold.

"Come on, let's let Lucien burn alone, eh? We should go back to Kol and Marcel," Klaus began to say. "I imagine Naomi's going to want to know Lucien is... dealt with."

But Jordanna ignored his words, her frown deepened as she set her eyes on the other Mikaelson sibling. "How'd you do it?" She asked, tired eyes meeting theirs as their attention turned to her. "How'd you figure it out?"

Freya lowered her head and swallowed roughly, she hesitated for a moment before meeting Elijah's eyes. Jordanna's frustration only grew at the action. She clicked her finger in Freya's face at her silence and the eldest Mikaelson sibling sighed.

"Hello? Have you gone mute in the past five minutes? How'd you do it?" She goaded, lips curling up in distaste. "Also, tell me Davina's fine before I lose my mind. Today's been crappy enough-"

"There's something you need to know," Freya interrupted, voice wavering. "In order for us to-"

"No," Jordanna grasped at what she was trying to say, she shook her head and her eyes filled with tears, but she blinked them away before anyone could see. "What did you do? What did you do?"

Her voice rose an octave as she stumbled over towards them. Wind arose from around them, harshly brushing against the trees, the leaves around their feet hastily smacked their ankles in passing.

Her emotions and magic were a messed-up combination.

"What did you do, Elijah?" She turned her full attention to the brunet, eyes narrowed suspiciously and this time, she could not hold back the tears. "Tell me you didn't. You tell me that she is alive or so-"

"Jordanna, we did what we had-"

"What you had to?!" She gave his chest a harsh shove, causing him to stumble back. Freya took a protective step towards her brother, but the Mikaelson merely held a hand up, stopping her in place, and allowing Jordanna to take her anger out on him.

He let her hit him, shove him, hurt him โธป because somewhere deep down he understood her frustration, but he also knew what he did was right. He was protecting his family and at that time, that was the only way to.

If he lost Jordanna, Kol and Marcel in the process, then so be it.

ใƒปโฅใƒป

It took a while for Jordanna to calm down. After a while, she had to be dragged off of him by Klaus, who she then fought out of his hold before venturing off to Elijah's car without so much as a blink.

She waited for Hayley and Klaus to get in before she drove off, locking the car door before Elijah and Freya had the chance to get in.

When they returned to the compound, it wasn't long before Elijah and Freya arrived, but she didn't speak to them. She just stared through them like they weren't even there, tear streaks ran down her face โธป but she stood with an empty expression painted across her features.

She and Klaus headed upstairs, and Elijah followed in an attempt to try to talk to Jordanna, but she gave him the silent treatment โธป sure, it may have been petty, but she was pissed and upset.

She headed off to hers and Klaus' room in hopes to just sit in quiet, but her head snapped up as she heard a crash sound out from the study.

She sighed but got up, quietly peering out into the hall, she saw Marcel's furious face rush down the stairs. She walked out to the balcony and glanced down at him.

"Marcel," she called out, stopping him in place, his fury didn't soften upon seeing her โธป if anything, he looked angrier. "Klaus didn't know, I didn't know."

He scoffed, eyes flitting up and down her face. He didn't think she had the right to be upset, it was her family that had done this, and besides, she and Davina fell out before this, so he thought she couldn't cry for Davina. She wasn't allowed to.

"You-" he pointed a finger up at her, another scoff left his lips as he shook his head. "You people don't care about anyone who's not your family, they're nothing to you. Nothing."

"Davina was my family," Jordanna frowned, taking a hesitant step toward him, but he merely moved away. "Do you honestly think I would've let them do this, if I knew?"

"Honestly? Yeah," he snapped. "You... the Mikaelsons, you're all a plague that none of us can escape. You know, Jordanna, your mom would be disappointed as hell with-"

"Don't talk about my mom," she snapped back. "I get you're angry Marcel, okay? You have every right to be, Davina's dead and it hurts-"

"Don't. Unless that magic of yours can bring Davina back, don't talk to me, Jordanna, okay? We're not friends, we're not family, not so long as you're with them."

Jordanna sighed and her shoulders slumped, "Marcel-"

"No."

And without another word, he left, leaving Jordanna to stand there alone. She ran her tongue along her teeth and sighed, lifting a hand to brush her fingers through her hair.

She'd give him time, he was grieving, but she wasn't going to leave it at that. Whether Marcel liked it or not he was her family.

So, later on that night, she found Kol cooped up in the garden of the compound, a glass of bourbon sat by him.

"Seems like we had the same idea," she voiced her appearance, holding up the bottle of tequila in hand, he looked over at her, a solemn look in his eye before he moved the glass, silently telling her she could sit.

Kol didn't say anything, and neither did she, she just sat beside him sipping on her tequila as he sipped on his bourbon, her head resting on his shoulder as they both silently mourned Davina.

She didn't want to be around Elijah and Freya because, even if Kol was the one who did it, Davina's death, in Jordanna's eyes was caused by the ancestors, Elijah and Freya, she didn't care if it was bitter or an exaggeration, that's just how she felt.

And the thought that before Davina died she and the young girl didn't make up upset her further.

How many more people were going to die?

She didn't know if she could take another one unless it was her father, that was. That she wouldn't mind. Hell, she'd throw a party if he decided to kick the bucket.

But until then, she'd continue to mope about and mourn the people she did give a crap about.

Oh, the wonderful life of Jordanna Jones.
