Meilani had done her fair share of crazy acts ever since she had become a werewolf. How she hadn't been killed yet was honestly beyond her. She knew eventually her luck would give out, but she'd been with Deucalion for a whole day and she was still breathing. Now if that wasn't luck, then Meilani didn't even know what was.

Scott and Stiles had both tried to text her throughout her time following Deucalion around like a lost puppy, but she'd ignored every single one. She just tuned her phone off at this point, missing an important one from Scott about someone being back in Beacon Hills they never thought they'd see again. She didn't need any distractions when trying to find Noah and Melissa and the boys texting her wasn't going to help her keep focused. It'd only make her miss her boys more.

Meilani wasn't even really sure where her and Deucalion were since she'd never been to the part of the woods that he had led her to. The only reason she even vaguely trusted Deucalion knew where they were going was because he'd been using his wolf sight the whole time to locate when to take turns or go down another path. Though, Meilani's nerves still coursed through her veins because the longer her and Deucalion took, the less time her mom and Noah had to survive. Who knew how much longer Jennifer would let them breathe?

Deucalion suddenly stopped walking and Meilani followed his line of sight to a firefly that zipped around the air in the clearing just up ahead. It only made Meilani think of the boys and how they always stood in the back of the McCall summer cabin catching fireflies in little jars after the three had dinner with Melissa and Rafe. They would lay on their stomachs and watch the fireflies flicker beautifully in the glass jars before they would let the insects go to be free. Rafe would call Meilani his little firefly because it was her favorite thing to do when she was growing up. Then he left and her love for fireflies left along with him.

"It's a firefly, Deucalion."

"Unusual for this region," Deucalion noted, tilting his head as he watched the firefly float around up ahead.

Meilani crossed her arms and her mind tried to figure out why the firefly would be in Beacon Hills. She had only ever seen them in the other town where her family's summer cabin used to be. "Is it because of Jennifer? Just before this whole disaster started, a deer crashed into Lydia's car. The cats went crazy at the animal clinic when I tried to go near them. Birds crashed into the windows at the high school. That was her."

"They say animals can sense natural disasters when they are about to happen. Maybe they can sense supernatural ones as well," Deucalion replied, eyes now scanning the area around them as if he heard something.

"Does she scare you?" Meilani asked, genuinely curious about how Deucalion felt about her. He didn't seem all that scared and she didn't even smell fear come off him or hear his heart racing nervously. He was so calm it was nearly frightening.

"She concerns me if she's willing to kill that many innocent people for her cause, people like your mother and Stiles' father."

Meilani narrowed her eyes at Deucalion since Boyd's blood was still on his hands even though Kali was the one to shove him onto Derek's claws. She knew Deucalion had come for both her and Derek, but his being in Beacon Hills only caused her more problems than she could handle. "Are you willing to kill innocent people?"

"I'll kill any living thing that gets in my way," Deucalion said, shooting Meilani a look before he turned and continued his way along the woods.

Meilani, not having much of a choice, followed behind Deucalion to continue on their way. Ethan, Aiden and Kali had ran off ahead of them to find where Marin had escaped to. Meilani had hung back with Deucalion because they didn't need four alphas looking for one girl. Plus, Meilani didn't trust that Kali would corner Meilani and kill her without a second thought, regardless of it angering Deucalion or not. At least if she stood with Deucalion she wouldn't die. She couldn't until she found Melissa and Noah like she promised both herself and the boys.

Deucalion stopped just a few feet from where Marin stood in a circle of mountain ash with Ethan, Kali, and Aiden stood just on the outside of the circle, not being to get to the girl inside. "How did you know, Mari, that we'd be coming for you?"

"Because Jennifer and I are the same. I know you've always been suspicious of us, of what we can do."

"We know you sent that girl - the one who helped Isaac," Kali taunted, circling the mountain ash that was the only thing keeping Marin from becoming ribbons.

"What was her name?" Deucalion asked, pretending to think so Marin would answer it for him.

Marin's jaw ticked at the thought of the girl Braeden and glared daggers at the alphas that surrounded her. "Braeden and I sent her to do what I have always done - maintain the balance."

"What do you know about Jennifer?" Kali demanded, still circling the circle of mountain ash.

"Nothing more than you know," Marin responded and turned her gaze over to Meilani, pinning the girl where she stood at the disappointment in her eyes. "This isn't you, Meilani. Go back to your friends and your brother."

Deucalion stuck his walking stick out so Meilani couldn't make a move to do anything even if she wanted to. "Meilani can decide what's right for herself, Marin."

"Not without all the information. Have you told her everything you've done? How you've piled bodies in a narcissistically psychotic effort to form your perfect pack? Bodies that include Ennis, by the way," Ms. Morrell announced to the pack of alphas, Kali even turning to Deucalion with an unreadable expression. "My brother saved him. He was alive when Deucalion went in to see him. He wants you to go after Derek, Kali, to force his decision. If Derek joins the pack, it paves the way for Meilani."

Meilani gaped at Deucalion in shock. Something that Meilani really shouldn't have been all that shocked over because Deucalion seemed to be the type to do whatever it took to get what he wanted. He did say he'd kill anyone who got in the way of what he wanted just five minutes before. Of course he wouldn't tell Kali, Ethan or Aiden about it because he'd want to manipulate them into getting Derek and Meilani into the pack.

Fat chance of that ever happening.

"The lies people will tell when they are begging for their life."

Marin flicked her hair over her shoulder and didn't falter when Deucalion gave her a deadly look. "Ask him."

Deucalion didn't even blink before he pulled the red tip off the end of his stick that covered the arrowhead and threw the walking stick at Marin, hitting her in the chest. Marin gasped and stumbled back onto the dirt and on her side, gripping the stick where it punctured through her skin.

Meilani rushed over to Marin and dropped down next to her, trying to check if she was okay. When she noticed Ethan and Aiden start to make their way towards Marin now that she was out of the mountain ash, she held her hand up with a growl which froze the twins in their steps. She turned back to Marin and wrapped her hand around the walking stick, waiting for Marin to nod that she was ready for Meilani to pull out the stick from her chest. With one hard tug, the stick was out of Marin's chest and Meilani chucked the walking stick in the direction of Deucalion, not caring if the arrow hit any of them next.

"Ms. Morrell, I'm not going to let them kill you," Meilani promised the panting woman next to her, running a comforting hand over Marin's shoulder with a small smile. "But if you know something, if you know where they are - "

"The Nemeton," Marin cut Meilani off, pressing her hand to the wound and gasped in pain. "You find that, you'll find Jennifer. Find the Nemeton."

Meilani had eventually turned her phone back on just as Stiles had called for the sixteenth time it seemed. He had frantically told Meilani about how they knew what they to do to get their parents and Chris, who had just recently been taken, back and where they were - the Nemeton. Deaton had a plan and they needed Meilani to be the one that did whatever it was with Allison and Stiles. She was supernatural so it was better to have one supernatural creature in the mix and not have Scott do whatever the plan was. She had given her location to Stiles to meet up with her after she walked away from Deucalion, Kali, Ethan and Aiden to find out what the plan was.

The sight of her boyfriend and twin leant against the hood of Stiles' Jeep with Deaton made her heart yearn for the moment she could actually run up to them and hug them tightly. She just knew now wasn't that time to do so. No matter how badly she wanted to do it.

"How did you guys find out?" Meilani asked, stopping just before Stiles, Scott and Deaton.

"Lydia. You?" Stiles replied, his fingers twitching at his side and Meilani knew he itched to reach out and touch her like she itched to do the same to him. It had only been a day since she'd last seen her boys, but it felt like a lifetime.

"Morrell. None of the other alphas know where it is either."

"So if this works, are you gonna tell them?" Scott questioned, still looking upset with her for leaving them behind to run off with the alpha pack. The same pack that had caused them so much trouble that Scott - and Stiles for that matter - thought Meilani would never want to be anywhere near them without wanting to slash them up.

Desperate times really did call for desperate measures."

Meilani sighed and shrugged lamely, slapping her hands to her side because she didn't any other options she had at this point. "I mean, I can't stop Jennifer without their help."

"How about we concentrate on finding your parents first?" Deaton suggested, stopping whatever argument was likely to follow Meilani's response. "Essentially, you, Allison and Stiles need to be surrogate sacrifices for your parents."

Meilani balked and her eyes flickered over to Scott and Stiles who shifted uncomfortably, especially Stiles who looked nervous to do it but knew he had to if it meant saving his father. "We die for them?"

"He can bring us back," Stiles assured his girlfriend, though it sounded like he tried to assure himself more than her. He turned to Deaton with a worried look as the thought of the plan raced through his head again. "Deaton, you can - you can bring us back, right?"

"You remember the part where I said it was dangerous?" Deaton reminded and Meilani could hear the gulp that came from the back of Stiles' throat. "If it all goes right, the three of you will be dead for a few seconds, but there is something else you need to think about. This is a dangerous thing for more reasons than one. You will be giving power back to the Nemeton, a place that hasn't had power for a long time. This kind of power is like a magnet. It attracts the supernatural, the kind of things that a family like the Argents can fill the pages of a Bestiary with. It will draw them here, like a beacon."

Scott twisted his hand back and forth as if weighing the options they clearly did not have. "I mean, it doesn't sound any worse than anything we have already seen."

"You would be surprised at what you have yet to see, Scott," Deaton warned.

"Is that it?" Meilani asked, feeling like there was something else that Deaton was hiding. Something that left a heavy feeling in Meilani's stomach.

Deaton frowned and Meilani could tell whatever he had to tell her next wasn't something that was easy for him to tell, but he had to. "No. It'll also have an effect on you, Stiles and Allison. You won't be able to see it, but you will feel it every day for the rest of your lives. It will be a kind of darkness around your heart, and permanent, like a scar."

"Like a tattoo," Meilani mumbled, tugging a hand through her hair.

The ride back to the animal clinic was tense and silent, the act that Stiles and Meilani were about to pull with Allison loomed over their heads. She was going to die and then come back to life like she was freaking Sam and Dean Winchester. They would have to live with a permanent dark scar on their hearts for a selfless act they were doing to save their parents. However, Meilani just kept reminding herself that this would be the only way to save them. That she'd be able to keep her promise to both Stiles and Scott for bringing back Melissa and Noah and the newly added Chris to the list.

When they arrived, Allison, Lydia and Isaac were already there in the main examination room with three buckets filled with water in the room with them. Isaac had rushed over to Meilani and enveloped her in a tight hug when she stepped into the room, the smaller wolf girl squeaking when he hugged a little too tightly. She hadn't seen him since they separated at the hospital and he probably thought that Deucalion had done something to her in that time. However, Meilani relaxed and wrapped her arms around the blue eyed wolf in a short hug before they both pulled away.

Deaton and Lydia filled the three silver tubs with bags of ice and a plant that Meilani couldn't tell what it was. She didn't ask too many questions, though, because she was scared to know the answers. She just clutched Melissa's old watch in her hand that she grabbed for the sacrifice and willed her hear to stop racing in her chest.

Stiles must have noticed his girlfriend's nerves because he wordlessly pulled her into his side, kissing the side of her head. She could hear his own heart racing out of nerves and she could smell the panic oozing off him in waves. However, with her in his side, Stiles' heart slowed just the tiniest bit as his body loosened up with her next to him. They were each other's anchors and now they'll be embarking on yet another crazy adventure together.

It'll definitely be something to tell their kids one day.

"Alright," Deaton said, earning the attention of the teenagers in the room. "What did you three bring?"

Stiles rubbed his thumb along the golden Sheriff star badge in his hand that belonged to Noah. It was bent a little on the edges and looked flatter in some parts than others. "Um, I got my dad's badge. Jennifer kind of crushed it in her hand, so I tried hammering it out a bit. Still doesn't look great."

"It doesn't need to look good if it has meaning," Deaton informed.

Isaac eyed the silver bullet that Allison fiddled with in between her fingers. "Is that an actual silver bullet?"

"My dad made it. It's kind of a ceremonial thing. When one of us finishes learning all the skills to be a hunter, we forge a silver bullet as a testament to the code," Allison explained, gripping the silver bullet in her palm.

"Meilani?"

Meilani cleared her throat and subconsciously cuddled herself closer to Stiles' side, staring down at the small watch in her hand. "My dad got my mom this watch when she first got hired at the hospital. She used to say it was the only thing in her marriage that ever worked besides Scott and I."

Scott offered his twin a comforting smile and rubbed her back soothingly, knowing that any mention of their father was enough to send into her a hot mess.

"Okay," Deaton clapped his hands together and took a step away from the three filled tubs. "The three of you will get in. Isaac, Lydia and Scott will hold you down until you're essentially... dead. It's not just someone to hold you under, it needs to be someone who can pull you back, someone that has a strong connection to you, a kind of emotional tether."

Allison and Lydia exchanged a small smile to each other and the two walked over to the first tub together. Scott was torn between going with his twin and going with his best friend, but Isaac stepped up and placed his hands on Meilani's shoulders. He said he'd be the one to bring Meilani back so Scott could go with his best friend. Isaac didn't have an emotional attachment to Stiles the way he did to Meilani, who was quickly becoming more like his alpha than Derek had. He saw Meilani like a sister and if he could help her through this, then he would do whatever it took. After all, she had done so much for him and now it was his turn to repay that favor, even if it was just holding her under ice cold water.

Meilani offered Isaac a grateful smile and stepped behind the tub on the right while Stiles took the one in the middle, all three of the teens going in the tub shrugging off their jackets and taking off their shoes and socks and tossing them to the side. Stiles gave Meilani a quick kiss on the lips before he took the initiative and shakily stepped into the tub, hissing as the cold water hit his skin. Allison and Meilani nodded at each other across the way and gripped the sides of their own tubs at the same time.

Meilani slowly placed her foot into the icy water and recoiled for a moment as it felt like a knife had stabbed her foot. She let out a shaky breath before she finally let her whole leg plunge into the icy tub and quickly put her other foot in, forcing herself to sit down in the tub. As every inch of Meilani's body was placed underneath the water, another knife was added and her shivering and shaking only intensified. Even with her naturally heated skin from being a werewolf, Meilani still felt the unbearable pins and needles that were a result of the icy coldness of the tub.

"Babe," Stiles said, his voice shaking from the freezing water and his lips already turning blue. "If I don't make it back, you need to know something. Something that Scott and I didn't want to tell you because we knew it would make you upset, but you need to know."

Meilani's eyes bounced between Stiles and Scott who guiltily stood behind Stiles, fiddling with his thumbs so he wouldn't have to look at Meilani. The smell of tenseness lingered in the air around Scott and Meilani could hear his heart rate spike. "Scott? What are you hiding from me?"

"Mei, I... uh...I really don't know to tell you this, but..." Scott trailed off, clearing his throat awkwardly and offering Meilani a sorrowful expression. "Dad, he's, uh.... he's back in town."

Hi hey hello

THERE IS JUST ONE CHAPTER LEFT OF PART ONE/SEASON 3A AND THEN WE GET TO MOVE ON TO PART TWO/SEASON 3B! I have so many ideas for Part Two and I am so damn excited to get to it, especially Void Stiles. Ya'll really aren't ready for it oof.

I was going to combine episodes 11 and 12 since Scott was only in the last half of the episode, but I wound up being able to write over 3k from just that alone so combining the would have been too long I think. So enjoy this intense filled chapter because next chapter is going to be a fun ride... maybe.
