Meilani ran through the woods after Malia. She ran so fast that she barely felt her feet touch the dirt ground beneath her. It more so felt like she was flying at the rate she was going and she probably put Barry Allen to shame. Though, Meilani needed to go this fast if she was going to have any luck keeping up with Malia's scent that she now had memorized. Malia's scent was still nearby, but even with her wolf sight, Meilani couldn't see the coyote anywhere. It was like Malia was one step ahead of her.

Meilani broke through a thicket of branches and bushes, nearly toppling over when she nearly crashed into two solid chests. She let out a small scream and stumbled back, clutching her chest when she noticed it was just her two boys. "Fucks sake, boys."

"Sorry, in our defense you should have heard us coming," Stiles defended and quickly backtracked when his girlfriend flashed her red alpha eyes warningly at him. "I love you and you're the prettiest girl in the world?"

Scott rolled his eyes at Stiles and turned to Meilani so he could get on with why the boys had been rushing through the woods to look for Meilani in the first place. "Stiles and I found something."

Meilani wasn't given any room to respond when Stiles grabbed her hand and began to pull her in the direction that Scott and Stiles had just came from. They went into the part of the woods where all the hiking trails were, a small backroad going around the side of it to allow cars to go through. Mostly the police squad cars if they needed to get through to get to a crime scene. She ducked inside the cave and noticed bits of left behind food laid around and a small blue jacket was off to the side. Even with Meilani's wolf sight she could only see so far into the pitch black cave.

"It's a coyote den," Stiles informed, shining his flashlight around the small space.

"Werecoyote," Meilani whispered, remembering how Malia's eyes had turned the same shade of blue that Derek's was when he was in wolf form. She had never even heard of anything like this before and she made a mental note to talk to Deaton later about it.

"See this?" Stiles asked, holding up the light blue jacket to show Meilani. "This is Malia's. Remember, it's the same one she was wearing in the photo."

Meilani crawled through a bit further towards the back of the small space and picked up a white teddy bear that had been caked in dirt and grime, nearly turning it brown permanently. Almost like Malia had been here since the car accident that took the rest of her family's life. It broke Meilani's heart to know the poor girl had been alone for eight whole years and had no one but herself for that long. "Boys, I don't think we should be here. She won't come back now because we just invaded her home. Our scent will be everywhere."

"Well, if she's not going to come back here, where is she going to go?" Scott questioned, eyes scanning around the small, rocky space.

"I don't know. Not many places she can go really."

"Babe, can you track her now? You think you got her scent?"

Meilani chewed the inside of her lip nervously and she was glad only she could hear her heartbeat because it sped way too quickly for her own liking. Just the thought of turning at this point honestly scared the hell out of her. After what happened back at the house during her fight with Rafe, Meilani knew for a fact her shifts wouldn't be the same right now. She didn't know how much longer this would last and she hoped it fixed itself soon.

"Maybe, but I'm better at this when I'm full wolf. I'm worried that if I do it... I won't be able to turn back," Meilani admitted, avoiding her twin and boyfriend's gazes.

Stiles sighed heavily and rubbed his girlfriend's back soothingly, knowing the fact that the door in their minds being opened freaked her out. He knew exactly how she felt. "The door's still open."

Meilani ran a hand over her face as her mind tried to flick through the very limited amount of options the trio had right now. "If I can't get to Derek, we're gonna have to find someone else to help." She finally glanced over Stiles who ran his thumb over his lower lip in deep thought. "Babe, this is basically a crime scene, right? I think this might be a little out of Deaton's league."

"And more in Noah's."

⏤⏤⏤⏤╗❀╔⏤⏤⏤⏤

Stiles had called Noah who showed up with two of his deputies. He hadn't asked the trio why they were in the woods in the first place, but he did take a look inside of the small cave space to see if he could find anything that Meilani, Stiles and Scott could have missed when they were in there. The three teens had stood together while they waited for Noah to finish doing his search inside. Stiles kept his arm around Meilani's waist when he noticed her still nervous nature about the whole wolf thing. She was finally an alpha - a title that Meilani took seriously, thank you very much - and she couldn't even enjoy it.

Noah eventually walked back over to his son and the McCall twins, Malia's pink and white blanket clutched in his hand. "Meilani, you're sure it was her, right?"

Meilani nodded and fiddled with the ends of her jacket sleeve. "Noah, I looked her right in the eyes and they glowed just like mine."

"It makes sense, Dad," Stiles said, coming to Meilani's defense. He knew Noah wanted to find this girl so he could have a peace of mind that he closed a case that no one else could since they didn't have knowledge of the supernatural. Granted, Noah find out about the supernatural in the worst way possible, but now he knew and Stiles just wanted to help his father crack the case.

"But it wasn't a girl. It was a four-legged coyote, right?"

"Well, okay. But yeah, see, that's the part that we don't exactly have figured out yet."

"And if it was a full moon and she did change while her mom was driving, then anything could have happened."

"Horrible things could have happened. Ripping, shredding, tearing things."

"Which is probably what caused the accident."

Noah squinted his eyes as they bounced between the three teens who started to talk over each other to try and piece together the mystery about Malia. He looked about two seconds away from getting a migraine just listening to the three, but he had made no moves of shutting them up.

"Just think about it, Dad, alright. They're driving, Malia starts to change, she goes out of control, the mom crashes and everybody dies..." Stiles trailed off, gesturing for Meilani to finish for him.

"Except for Malia."

"She blames herself, goes off running into the woods and eventually becomes trapped inside the body of a coyote," Scott chimed in.

Noah rose an eyebrow at the trio's theory and Meilani could already see the sarcastic comment brewing in his head. It was a total wonder where Stiles got it from. "That makes sense.... in a Chinese folklore. Guys, this is... this is insane."

Meilani scoffed softly and leant more against her boyfriend's side. "Welcome to my world."

"Look, I need this kept quiet. The three of you, not a word. I don't want anyone hearing about this. I especially don't want Mr. Tate hearing about this."

Meilani tensed up when she heard something from behind her and she slowly turned her head over her shoulder to see a frightened teenage girl laid out on the tree stump near the squad car. Her shoulders and head hung off the side of the stump and the girl desperately reached her hand out for Meilani to help her. Meilani's eyes trailed up to see what kept the girl to the stump and she felt her breath catch in her throat when she saw herself. She was completely transformed into her alpha side, canines bared and clawed hand raised to slash down at the poor girl below her.

"Babe?" Stiles' voice sounded distorted and distant, almost like he was far away from her and she was underwater. She couldn't stop staring at the scene before her, her body going completely rigid in Stiles' arms. "Baby!"

Meilani jumped at the loud voice and snapped her gaze away from the tree stump and over to her concerned boyfriend. He caressed her cheek softly when he finally saw her eyes focus back out of their dazed state. Her eyes bounced back over to the tree stump to see nothing there any longer and felt her body relax the more Stiles' thumb stroked soothingly over her skin. "Uh, sorry, Noah. What did you say?"

Before Noah or the boys could comment on Meilani's odd behavior, a black SUV with blue and red police lights on it showed up just behind the bushes. Meilani and the boys looked over to see Rafe step out of his car with Mr. Tate and Meilani swore she felt her blood boil at the sight of her father. Their fight still very fresh in Meilani's mind.

"Mr. Tate..." Noah began, but cut himself off when Mr. Tate grabbed for the blanket in Noah's hand. He watched as the brown haired and eyed man ran his fingers along the soft material of the blanket. "Mr. Tate?"

"It's hers," Mr. Tate's voice shook with the tears that pooled in his eyes as he stared down at the blanket.

"Alright, wait here," Rafe informed Mr. Tate before he turned to make his way towards the cave.

"Dad..."

Rafe turned to Meilani and he didn't look the least bit happy with her. If anything, he had the audacity to give her the stern look he used to give to her when she was in trouble with him. "I will talk to you and your brother in a minute, Meilani. I wouldn't mind hearing how your mother is okay with you running around in the woods this late."

Meilani rolled her lips into her mouth and decided to just step back to stand between her two boys, allowing her father to do whatever it is he thought he could do inside the cave. If he wanted to embarrass himself in front of Noah, then she would let him do just that.

⏤⏤⏤⏤╗❀╔⏤⏤⏤⏤

The next morning, Meilani had done everything in her power to avoid Rafe. Melissa had left an hour before her, Scott and Isaac had woken up and had pretty much forced Isaac and Scott to leave the house without eating breakfast, saying they'd just stop at the deli on the way to school. Rafe had tried to tell Meilani that they weren't done talking about her, Scott and Stiles' late night stroll through the woods. Only for Meilani to reply oh, well, that sucks because I am and storm up to her bedroom. She could barely be around her father without seeing red and she couldn't risk shifting, not now.

The first that Stiles, Scott and Meilani did that morning was rush off to find Allison, pulling her into their first period classroom when they saw her in the hallway. They didn't even give Allison a second to ask what was wrong before they divulged into everything that had happened in the woods the night before.

"Here's where we found the den. It's right in the middle of the hiking trails," Stiles explained to Allison, showing her on the GPS map of the woods where the den had been.

"Well, that could narrow it down. Coyotes travel in fixed trails, but I think you're right about her not going back to the den. Coyotes don't like wolves very much and they're really smart. If they don't want to be heard, they actually walk on their toes," Allison said, fixing her gaze on Meilani.

Stiles furrowed his eyebrows and looked to Allison, confusion swarming in his hazel eyes. "I - coyotes tip toe?"

"Yes, Stiles, they tip toe," Allison answered, sighing when the bell rang and signaling Allison that she needed to get to her own class. "I have to go, but send me that pinned location."

Meilani puffed out her cheeks and took her seat next to Stiles, taking out her history book and notebook. She was just about ready for any sort of distraction at the moment. Distraction from the supernatural. Distraction from Rafe who, out of freaking nowhere, decided he wanted to be a father again. Distraction from the darkness that settled in her heart and constantly taunted her like some kind of demon.

When Meilani heard her twin's heart rate pick up the slightest bit, she turned her head to see he had been stopped by Kira. The pretty raven haired girl smiled nervously up at Scott as she rambled about her name - that Scott already knew so she didn't know why she was saying it again - and told him about the research she had done the night before for him and the pack. It had only taken her a few hours, but she had done it because she wanted to. She fumbled frantically in her backpack for the research she had done.

"Kira," Mr. Yukimura called, walking up behind the girl with a massive stack of papers in his hands. "You forgot the research you did for that boy you like."

Meilani slapped a hand to her mouth when she saw the heat rise to her brother's cheeks and his heart race even more at Mr. Yukimura's words. She could hear Stiles' snickers from besides her and the two watched on in amusement when Mr. Yukimura handed over the research and made his way back to the front of the class so he could begin his lesson.

"Good morning, class," Mr. Yukimura greeted the class, motioning for Scott and Kira to take their seats which were now next to each other since everyone else had already sat down. "We were just talking about internment camps and prisoners of war. There is a passage in our reading that I would like to go over in more detail... who would like come up and read aloud for us?" His eyes raked around the room before he turned to Stiles and smiled warmly at him. "Mr. Stilinski, how about you?"

Stiles' eyes widened slightly and Meilani could practically smell the panic chemosignals that clung to him like a sour smelling cologne. He was still having a really rough time reading words properly and there was no way he could read a whole excerpt to the class. "Oh, uh... maybe someone else could."

"I can read for him, Mr. Yukimura," Meilani quickly offered, not wanting her boyfriend to be put on the spot.

"That is very kind of you to offer, Ms. McCall, but everyone must participate in my class."

Meilani offered her boyfriend an apologetic look and squeezed his hand before Stiles reluctantly pushed himself out of his seat. She chewed on her thumbnail nervously as her eyes followed Stiles to the podium. He took one glance down at the page before him and his hands instantly clutched the sides of the podium tightly. If he were a werewolf, the top of the podium would have been in in two separate pieces. His heart began to beat so rapidly Meilani was worried it would jump out of Stiles' chest.

Stiles shakily raised his head from his book and his eyes were starting to go cross eyed, his face coating in a shiny sheet of sweat. His hands shook violently where they gripped the podium tightly and he looked like he was about two seconds from passing out.

"Babe?" Meilani called, slowly standing up from her desk to make her over to Stiles. "Are you okay?" She gasped when she saw him nearly collapse to the floor and he caught himself on the podium. "Mr. Yukimura, is it okay if I take him to the nurse?"

All Meilani needed was the nod from Mr. Yukimura before she had Stiles' arm wrapped around her shoulders, hauling the panting and sweaty teen out of the classroom. She could barely hear the sound of her twin's feet slamming against the tiles of the school floor over her boyfriend's heart beat. She got him to the boy's locker room that was the closest thing to the history classroom and flinched slightly when Stiles stumbled away from her.

"Sti, baby, look at me," Meilani coaxed, trying to get the boy to look at her. However, he only stumbled over to the sink and clutched onto the white porcelain. "Are you having a panic attack?"

"It's a dream. This is just a dream. It's not real," Stiles rambled, frantically shaking his head to try and wake himself up.

Meilani shared a look with Scott, the two only worrying more now over the fact that Stiles thought that he was asleep. "Stiles, this is all real. You're here. You're here with Scott and I," she said as softly as she could so she wouldn't freak Stiles out more. "Babe, what do you do? How do you tell if you're awake or dreaming?"

Stiles continued to shake and sweat and Meilani was about thirty seconds away from bursting into tears at the sight of her boyfriend so panicked and scared. It was the most heartbreaking she'd ever have to witness. "I - you ... you count your fingers. You have extra fingers in dreams."

Meilani gently cupped Stiles' face with one hand and had him look at her, holding up the pointer finger on her other hand. "Baby, how many fingers do I have? Count with me, okay?"

Stiles nodded and counted every single finger that Meilani held up for him on both of her hands. When he had gotten to ten, his eyes became even more panicked when he realized that this whole thing was actually real. He wasn't dreaming and he wasn't asleep. It was all too much for him to handle and he collapsed to the ground, taking Meilani with him who cradled him into her chest. "What's happening to me?"

"We'll figure it out. You're going to be okay," Scott promised Stiles, squeezing the panting teen's knee assuringly.

Stiles scoffed and picked his head up off Meilani's chest, leaning back against the wall behind him. A look flashed across his face that Meilani couldn't read and that alone scared her. "Am I, though? Is Lani? I mean, she can't even transform and Allison is being haunted by her dead aunt. I'm straight up losing my own mind. We can't do this. We can't... we can't help Malia." He sniffled and shook his head, focusing his gaze on his hands that rested in his lap. "We can't help anyone."

Meilani brushed some of Stiles' brown hair back that started to stick to his sweaty forehead and offered him the best smile she could in the moment. She wanted to crumble and break down, but she needed to be strong for her pack. She needed to keep a clear and try not to let the worry that something was very, very wrong with Stiles. "We can try, babe. We can always try."

Before Meilani could try to offer any more words of encouragement to try and keep the tone positive when they desperately needed it, a coyote growl could be heard down the hall where the girls' locker room was. Meilani barely had time to yell at the boys to stay where they were before she was out into the hall and into the locker room. She saw the same coyote from the night before - who Meilani was still definitely sure was Malia - growling at a flash of raven hair.

Meilani skidded her away around the other side before Malia could see her and caught Kira when the girl stumbled back into her out of fear. She quickly covered the raven haired girl's mouth to keep quiet and used her other hand to knock the rows of lockers over, trapping Malia somewhere beneath them. When her eyes drifted over to Stiles' back, she saw the side of a baby's doll head.

Malia's baby doll head.

Malia had wound up getting out from underneath the lockers and ran off into the distance, but Noah had still came down to the school with animal control to see if they could find out where Malia had gone. Meilani stood near the double doors of the school with Scott while Stiles followed his father off down the hall to find out any side information that he could have on what was going on.

"A couple of students said they saw it running across the field and back into the woods. Thank God, nobody got hurt," Noah informed Stiles, squeezing his son's shoulder to show that he and the animal control people were doing their best to find her.

"What happens if she does hurt someone?"

Noah sighed and dropped his hand from Stiles's shoulder, knowing that Stiles wouldn't like the answer he'd need to give. "Most likely they'll have to put it down."

Stiles balked and stopped Noah from going off down the next hallway, standing near the window at the end of the hallway. "Put her down? Dad, try not to forget that there is a girl in there. One that you will be killing. Are you back to not believing in all of this?"

"You know what, Stiles, I believe there are a lot of things I don't understand yet. Yes, I saw Meilani turn into something that I had originally thought to be in the horror films you two like to watch. But that also doesn't mean that everything and anything imaginable is suddenly possible. Now, are you one hundred percent sure that this is a girl and not an animal?"

"Yes," Stiles stressed and his eyes flickered down the hall over to his girlfriend who still stood with Scott, listening on the Stilinski's conversation. His eyes had instantly softened when his eyes locked with Meilani's and it was obvious he was going to back up his girlfriend one hundred percent no matter what Noah or anyone else said. He believed she was right because Meilani was always right and always did the right thing. It was one of the many reasons Stiles loved her so dearly. "Because Meilani is sure."

Meilani smiled softly at her boyfriend's never ending support and tucked a piece of curly brown hair behind her ear. Her eyes drifted over to Noah who seemed to realize that Meilani had been listening to their whole conversation, now knowing everything that he did on the current situation.

"Alright, alright, let's get this thing figured out then."

Meilani, Scott, Stiles and Noah had all drifted back over to the girls' locker room where Kira had been cornered. The girl still stood inside with her father who fretted over her and asked why she hadn't been at lunch with everyone else. Kira had only wanted to bring Scott, Stiles and Meilani their bags when she saw the coyote in the hallway because she wanted to be nice to the kids who had treated her with kindness since they first met.

"Babe, I think I know what she was looking for," Stiles admitted, walking over to his girlfriend who had been crouched near the knocked over lockers to try and figure out what to do next. She pushed herself to her feet when she saw him tug the doll out of his bag.

"I cannot believe you two took her doll, Stiles," Meilani huffed and took the doll out of her boyfriend's hands, her eyes bouncing between her two idiotic boys. "I swear if we were in prison right now, you'd be my bitches."

Stiles pouted at Meilani's words and Scott sheepishly shrugged, not seeing the big deal. "Stiles and I, uh... we just thought you could use it for her scent."

Before Meilani could yell at the boys for taking something from the cave, Mr. Tate stormed into the room with his eyes trained directly on the doll in Meilani's hand. "Where did you get that? Where did you find this?" He grabbed the doll from Meilani's hands and stared longingly down at the doll, a far off look in his eyes as memories clearly played in his mind. "It belonged to my daughter."

"Sorry," Noah whispered to Meilani, squeezing her shoulder as he passed her by to get to Mr. Tate. "Mr. Tate, I don't know how you heard about this. If you got your own police scanner or what... but you can't be here." He went to push Mr. Tate towards the locker room door, but froze instantly when he felt something underneath Mr. Tate's jacket.

Meilani' s eyes widened in shock when she saw the gun hidden beneath Mr. Tate's jacket, strapped around his middle in a holster that almost looked like the one you'd see in the cop TV shows.

"I have a permit," Mr. Tate defended, tone laced with anger that Noah had even dared to look at him sternly.

"California schools are gun free zones, permit or no permit. You need to leave, Mr. Tate. Now."

Mr. Tate shook his head defiantly and snatched his arm out of the deputy's grip that tried to drag him out of the locker room. He shot a scathing look at Noah while his chest heaved in anger. "You find that animal. You find that thing."

Meilani didn't even have to glance at her boys to know they all thought the same thing, watching Mr. Tate exit the locker room. They needed to go to Deaton. And fast.

⏤⏤⏤⏤╗❀╔⏤⏤⏤⏤

"Xylazine. It's a tranquilizer for horses," Deaton informs, holding up three small bottles with a clear liquid in it.

Meilani stood around the metal examination table with her three boys, having snatched Isaac by the ear the second she found him in the halls. Though, it really hadn't taken much to get Isaac to follow her, Stiles and Scott out of the school to go over to Deaton. Honestly, Meilani could ask Isaac to roll over on his back and fake being dead and he'd do it before she could even finish the command. Not even just because she was practically like his alpha now, but she had been there for him from the beginning and Isaac felt like he owed Meilani his life.

"For a werecoyote, expect it to work in seconds. I only have three. So whoever is shooting, needs to be a damn good shot."

"Oh, don't worry," Meilani beamed, already knowing Allison would make her proud. "Allison is an amazing shot."

"She - she used to be," Isaac stuttered, hinting to the fact that Allison had been off her game ever since sacrifice. She had nearly killed Lydia and Isaac was just lucky to have been in the woods at the same time.

"She can do it," Scott assured Deaton, shooting Isaac a pointed look to shut up.

Isaac crossed his arms across his chest and shrugged. "If we manage to find the thing."

Stiles pointed at Isaac and glanced to his girlfriend desperately. "Okay, seriously, what is the point of him him? Seriously, babe, I mean, what is his purpose? Aside from the persistent negativity and the scarf?" He remarked, gesturing to Isaac's combination of a gray jacket and dark blue knit scarf. "What's up with the scarf anyway, dude? It's, like, sixty-five degrees outside."

Meilani sighed and ran a hand down her face, not really wanting to listen the two boys fight. "Stiles, please."

"Look, maybe I'm asking a question no one here wants to ask," Isaac countered, not even flinching at Stiles' torments.

"Oh, yeah... and what's that? How you're not sweating in that get up? Seriously, I'm sweating just looking at you."

Isaac's eyes lit up in amusement when he noticed the harsh look Meilani shot her boyfriend and turned his attention to the one person he knew would listen to him. "How do we turn a coyote turn back into a girl, when she hasn't been a girl for eight years?"

Meilani chewed on the inside of her lip for a long moment as she tried to think of what they could do. If Malia didn't know how to shift back, it would be nearly impossible to do without trying to begin the shift for her. A thought popped into her head and she perked up, mentally slapping herself for not thinking of it before. "I can do it. When Peter trapped us in the school, he got me to shift in the gym with just his voice. Then Deucalion did it back at the distillery."

"This is a werecoyote, Meilani," Deaton reminded, looking a bit uncertain with Meilani's plan. "Who knows if it'll even work if you can find someone who can teach you."

"That's why you tried to call Derek first," Stiles noted quietly, remembering how Meilani had spastically called Derek a dozen times after they first found the den and waited for Noah to show up. He hadn't returned or answered a single one of those calls so it looked like they were on their own without him.

"Yeah, I could try it on my own," Meilani said, leaning her hands against the metal examination table and dropping her head with a sigh. "But right now, I'm too scared to even change into a werewolf."

"We need a real alpha."

Meilani picked her head back up to narrow her eyes at Stiles, gesturing to herself to remind him that she was an alpha. A very rare one, thank you very much.

"Oh, babe, come on! You know what I mean. An alpha who can do alpha things. You know, an alpha who can get it going. You know, get it..."

"Mieczyslaw Stilinski, if you don't stop talking right now...." Meilani warned lowly, showing Stiles he had about thirty seconds to stop talking before she snapped him in half.

Scott snorted at the stunned look that appeared on Stiles' face over the fact that Meilani had used his full, actual name. "Stiles, she just full named you. I would tread very lightly with your next words."

Stiles spastically waved his hands around in a gesture, trying to come up with something that would get his girlfriend to stop glaring at him like he was Peter Hale. "I  - Lani! I mean, we just need someone who can...."

"Perform without glitching?" Isaac offered.

"Great, so I'm an alpha with performance issues?"

"Meilani, is there anyone else besides Derek who could help?" Deaton cut in before Meilani could try to bring herself down any more than she already was.

Isaac scratched his cheek as he tried to rack his own brain for answers he didn't have. "Well, I wouldn't trust Peter."

"What about the twins?" Stiles suggested since they were no longer enemies. Well, at least... not really. It was more of like a silent agreement to not kill the other now that everything had settled down after the whole Jennifer Blake drama.

"The twins aren't alphas anymore. After what Jennifer did, almost killing them? It broke that part of them," Deaton explained, immediately shooting down Stiles' plan.

"Yeah, but what if they know how to do it?"

Meilani puffed out her cheeks and threw her head back, hating the road blocks that always came up for them. Why couldn't they ever get through something without Meilani feeling like she was going to have fifty panic attacks in between? "Nobody has seen them in weeks though."

Stiles shifted uncomfortably on his feet and kicked the tip of his Vans at the tiled flooring of the animal clinic. "Well... um... that's not exactly true."

⏤⏤⏤⏤╗❀╔⏤⏤⏤⏤

Meilani and Stiles separated from Scott and Isaac to go pick up Lydia who had been talking to Aiden the past few weeks. How Stiles even knew that was beyond Meilani, but he and Ethan had agreed to meet them at Derek's empty loft to meet up and talk about the whole Malia thing. Something that Meilani was grateful for because it meant they could fix their problem quicker than she had originally thought.

However, Meilani should have known better than to think anything of it was good. Stiles, Meilani and Lydia had barely been in the loft two seconds before Ethan and Aiden showed up in the entranceway behind Meilani, both sending a fist her way. Ethan then grabbed her arm and flung down the four cement steps that lead into the loft. They barely even gave her chance to react before the twins hopped down the steps, lifting her back onto her feet just to throw more punches at her face.

Meilani groaned when Ethan eventually threw her back to the ground, clutching her bruised stomach as blood drip from her mouth. "So much for helping me and calling a truce, huh?"

"We are in a truce and we are helping," Ethan defended, standing above Meilani with Aiden. "If you want to roar, you have to do it by giving in."

"Giving in and letting go. That's how Deucalion taught us control," Aiden added, grabbing Meilani by the front of her black zip-up hoodie again and hauling her back to her feet.

"Hey, you know that's funny. I've actually tried something like this one time using a heart monitor and lacrosse balls," Stiles announced, referring to when Meilani first was bitten and he had stolen the heart rate monitor that Coach Finstock typically used for the lacrosse team. It nearly ended in Meilani tearing Stiles' head from his shoulders, but she had quickly settled herself down before the anger could take over. "But you're right, beating the living crap out of my girlfriend is probably a lot better."

Meilani winced when a pain shot up her side, but could already feel the bruises begin to heal, thankfully. "Wait, that's actually your plan? Kick my ass?"

"You're afraid to turn so we're going to make you," Ethan informed.

"You turn. Then you kick our asses," Aiden finished for Ethan and Meilani swore she was getting major Fred and George Weasley vibes from the way the two were finishing the other's sentences. It was a funny enough thought to make her forge the dull ache in her sides.

"And then you roar," Ethan shifted instantly and his blue eyes flashed brightly, roaring loudly as the sound reverberated around the room.

Meilani was circled tauntingly by the two former alphas, the two smirking at her to try and get her angry enough to turn.

"You think you can't let go with us?"

"You think you're going to hurt us?"

"Come on, McCall. Give it your all!" Aiden yelled, shoving Meilani and causing her to stumble from the sudden force that had been pushed upon her. "We can always heal."

Meilani growled as she swung her right arm to attack Aiden, but he caught her wrist in one hand while sucker punching her in the stomach with his free hand. Then she was kicked to the ground once again when she was too distracted by the grasp Aiden had on her.

"You're an alpha now, McCall. You want to roar like one, you've got to give in full throttle. You have to got to be the monster inside of you. Become the beast. Become everything you're afraid of."

"That's what gives you power. It gives you strength," Ethan emphasized, punching Meilani again when the female alpha got back to her feet and pushed her back down onto her stomach on the ground. She coughed up some blood and spit it onto the ground between her and the twins. "Giving into it doesn't make you the bad guy, Meilani. So long as you can control it. Sometimes control is a bit overrated."

Meilani yelped in pain when she felt Aiden's foot come into contact with her side once again, sending her onto her side. Why couldn't she find it in herself to fight the twins back? She was determined to get through to Malia and save her, to save yet another innocent person. Yet, she couldn't bring herself to harm the twin boys before her.

"Come on, baby. Fight back," Stiles pleaded quietly to himself, clutching onto the sleeve of Lydia's jean jacket as he watched his girlfriend get the shit kicked out of her. He hated to watch it and had to hold himself back from tackling Ethan and Aiden to the ground. He had to remind himself that the twins were only doing it to get her to shift again and they weren't actually trying to harm her for real.

Meilani coughed weakly and wiped the blood away from her mouth, smudging her mouth a bright crimson from all the blood. The fear of fully shifting still hung in the back of her mind. She was so worried about becoming like Malia who had been a coyote for eight years. She couldn't become a full werewolf for that long. No way Meilani could leave behind her boys and mom for that long. "What if I can't control it? What if I can't turn back?"

Ethan shrugged lamely and crossed his arms. "Well, then it takes over. You become Malia. You get further and further away from being human. You turn into an animal.... or worse."

"You turn into Peter," Aiden mocked, knowing the mention of the certain Hale family member would rile her up.

It seemed that whatever Aiden said finally snapped the cord inside of Meilani because the alpha hopped back to her feet, roaring loudly at the two twins before her. She rushed at Aiden, going to tackle him into the wooden table behind him, but Aiden grabbed her by the throat and slammed her down onto the table instead. Aiden then leapt up onto the table and began to punch Meilani in the face repeatedly, not leaving any room for her to fight back.

Ethan ran over to his brother and caught his fist before it could come down on Meilani again. "Aiden, stop!"

"What? I thought we were helping her," Aiden snarled,  glaring darkly at his twin for stopping him.

Meilani coughed weakly and tried to stop the room from spinning as she felt even more blood pool at her mouth, spitting some of it out of her mouth onto the table next to her head. Her head slowly twisted her head and breathed heavily, spitting more blood out onto the table. Stiles stared at her worriedly, physically fighting himself from going over to Meilani and helping her out. He couldn't do that or she'd never be prepared to help Malia shift back to her human self.

The next morning, Meilani could feel the nerves rage inside her stomach as she thought about what she was about to do. The night before hadn't gone the way Meilani had hopped as she hadn't shifted once, still too scared to not be able to switch back to her human self once she did. Ethan had eventually stopped the training, not wanting to harm Meilani to the point she wouldn't heal.

"Hey," Stiles' voice caused Meilani to jump and she turned around to face him where he stood near his bed. He walked over to her when he noticed the worry on her face, placing his hands on her arms and rubbing them comfortingly. "Baby, what's wrong?"

"What if I can't do it, Stiles?" Meilani voiced, looking up at him through her eyelashes. She played with the zipper on his gray zip up, needing something to do with her hands. "What if I can't get her to shift? Or what if I shift and I can't shift back? Any other time before this I wouldn't have been freaking out, but now the darkness is still here and messing with me and - "

Stiles pressed his lips gently to Meilani's and kept them there until he felt her visibly relaxed against him, her lips moving against his for a moment. He slowly pulled away from her and placed his forehead on hers. "Baby, you're going to do just fine. You always do. There is nothing to worry about, okay? You'll have all of us there with you to help. I have faith in you, Lani."

Meilani didn't say anything, just wrapped her arms around Stiles' middle and laid her head on his chest. The sound of his heart beat alone was enough to help calm her down and she sighed contentedly for a moment when his arms wrapped around her tightly. "What would I do with you, Sti?"

"Mmm, crash and burn," Stiles teased, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Now, let's go before we have to hear from everyone how we were late."

After a quick kiss, the couple made their way out of the Stilinski house and over to the Martin household to pick up Lydia. The drive to the area where the cave was was filled with a tense silent as the three teens really thought over what they were about to do. They had been through a lot of crazy scenarios, but trying to turn a werecoyote back into a girl was probably one of the craziest adventures they had gone on yet.

Eventually, Meilani, Stiles and Lydia found themselves stood outside of Roscoe with Scott, Isaac and Allison. Scott had driven over on his bike while Allison and Isaac had both showed up in Allison's car. Meilani shot Isaac a single look to which he ignored purposely, giggling to herself when Isaac silently cursed her out.

"Anyone else think we might be doing more harm than good?" Lydia spoke up, breaking the long silence that had taken over the pack.

"We're trying to keep a father from killing his own daughter," Meilani reminded Lydia, trying to keep the positivity going because if she let herself drown in the negativity, she'd never get anything done today.

"Actually, we're trying to keep a guy from killing a coyote who is actually his daughter, who we don't know how to change from coyote back to his daughter," Isaac rambled.

"And again with the not helping," Stiles quipped, narrowing his eyes at Isaac.

A gunshot rang out in the distance near the cave and Meilani and Isaac both stiffened up, their gazes instantly snapping in the direction the gunshots came from. Meilani's body reacted faster her brain could think and she was throwing herself on Scott's bike, taking off before any of her friends could stop her.

"Lans, what the hell?" Isaac yelled before the sound of his sneakers pounding against the wood floor was heard behind Meilani.

Meilani sped the bike through the woods, avoiding every coyote trap effortlessly. She had never been more grateful for Scott showing her how to use the bike until right now.  It was smaller and faster to swerve in between the trees than the Jeep would have been and was definitely a lot quicker than Meilani would have been on her feet.

Isaac and Allison could still be heard behind her, the raven haired huntress probably taking off with Isaac with the tranquilizer gun in her hand that was filled with the darts. Meilani would normally wait for her friends to catch up, but she was worried that if she waited too long... Malia would be dead. More gun shots continued to ring out through the woods and Meilani only sped the bike up faster as she heard each one.

However, as Meilani turned a corner of the trees, a loud wolf howl was heard and it bounced around Meilani's skull harshly. She gripped onto her side of her head with one hand and it sent her off balance on the bike. She let out a small scream as the bike hit a rock and she went flying over the front of the bike, crashing onto her back. A wheeze left her lips as the wind was knocked out of her body and groaned in pain as it shot down her back.

Meilani shakily pushed herself to her feet once again, ignoring the hot pain shooting down her back. She took one glance at Scott's back - saying a silent sorry to it even though it was inanimate - and pushed her way through the woods on foot. Every step she took was quicker than the one before, her desire to save Malia now even deeper set into Meilani's bones. She wouldn't let the poor girl get shot by her own father. She needed to save the Malia and she knew there was only one way to do that.

Stiles' words from before had echoed through her head, about how he had faith in her. About how he knew she could do it because she always could do it. His confidence was enough to push her over the edge and allow her body to shift and, by the time she had leapt over the wrecked car and land before Malia, she had fully shifted into her wolf side. Meilani lifted her head to lock her red alpha eyes onto Malia's blue werecoyote ones and let out a deafening roar at the girl.

Malia's eyes shifted from bright blue to a yellow-ish brown color of a typical coyote. She slowly dropped down to the dirt ground below and Malia watched in shock as the coyote slowly melted away. In the coyote's place was a naked brunette, her frightened brown eyes lifting up to meet with Meilani's red alpha ones. Malia shakily pushed herself up to sit on her butt, staring down at her hands in bewilderment, completely ignoring the leaves and branches that tangled in her hair.

Meilani did it. She actually did it!

AUTHORS NOTE

Hi hey hello

(Meilani to her two idiotic children this whole chapter)

Well, this chapter literally took me all day to write. I tried really hard to try and properly describe a lot of what happened in this chapter because A L O T happened in this one. Kira and Scott have finally properly interacted, Malia is FINALLY OFFICIALLY HERE, Stiles and Meilani were cute as fuck as usual. I, honestly, love this chapter because it's just the beginning of what is about to happen and ya'll have no idea how ready I am for Void Stiles to come into play. PLUS, MEILANI CALLING STILES BY HIS FULL FIRST NAME IS AN AESTHETIC I DIDN'T KNOW I NEEDED.

Also, this chapter is dedicated to roscoeobrien because you can thank her for that FRIENDS reference (let's see if you guys can see which it is) and I just love her. She is amazing and you guys should go read her books because WHEW THIS GIRL IS BRILLIANT! Give her some love for the sake of Meilani and Stiles (who I am pretty sure she loves more than me).

ALSO 2.0 AND V IMPORTANT! I am working on a playlist for when this book finishes in TEN CHAPTERS and I need some more ideas of songs. So if you guys have any songs that make you think of this story, of Meilani and Stiles, of Meilani and Scott, of just Meilani!!! Just let me know them and I'll listen to it. I have 8 songs so far and I want to have as many as possible so I can add 'em all to the Spotify playlist I've been working on. SO HELP A GIRL OUT!
