The quidditch world cup was today...

All Taylor could think about was the dreadful formal wear she had to be dressed in - it was much to her objection. However, it was necessary; the evening will be spent with important members of the Ministry along with Cornelius Fudge, the minister himself.

The girl slipped the royal blue dress over her head. she took her hands and ran them down the front of the dress, smoothing out any wrinkles. She then reached her hand to the back and attempted to zip the dress up, but it appeared the zipper was stuck. She began aggressively tugging at it - her frustration growing by the second - trying to get it to budge.

"Why the bloody hell won't you m-"

Before she could finish scolding her zipper, she heard a rip. "Shit..."

she turned her head to the side, trying to see if there was any tear in sight. A knock sounded at the door, but she kept searching for any sign of the rip; her mother would not be too pleased if Taylor had ruined the dress.

"Yeah, come in."

"You alright there?"

Taylor turned her head and placed her gaze on the boy who had just walked in, Draco Malfoy. He was all dressed and ready to go; his hair was gelled back (of course) and his suit was black - sharp-looking, and well-fitted.

"You cleaned up nicely." Taylor said to the boy, smirking at her backhanded compliment.

"Why thank you- hey!"

Taylor let out a small laugh before saying: " Anyway, I just can't get this bloody dress zipped up." she turned around. "Do you mind?"

Draco hesitantly walked up to her and zipped up the dress with ease.

"How did you do that so effortlessly?!" Taylor - obviously annoyed about how easily that came to the blonde - quickly stepped away and faced him again. She raised an eyebrow at her friend as she tied the ribbon around her waist to tighten her dress.

Before he could answer the question, a voice sounded from a nearby staircase - and it was gradually getting louder.

"WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG"

Both Taylor and Draco's attention averted to the door, and in walked Theo Nott. Of course, they should've guessed the loud and dramatic shout came from Theo.

"Sorry, sorry. I'm ready." Taylor walked straight past the boys and out of the room, knowing they'd trail behind. the boys followed her down the hallway and to the stairs, engaging in a conversation on the way.

"Draco, we sent you up here to quickly get her." Theo paused and a smirk slowly started making its way across his face. "What did you guys do?" he wiggled his eyebrows at Draco, his smirk now completely visible.

"We didn't do anything." Draco glared at his friend - only widening Theo's smirk.

"You better knock it off, Nott." Taylor said, not bothering to turn around and look at the boys. "Or you're not going to want me around while you're with Alden." She smirked to herself.

Theo's face fell and his ears went red - that shut him up real fast. Draco couldn't help but laugh at her remark and his friends reaction.

All three of them reached downstairs where the rest of their families were waiting.

"Its about time." Blaise Zabini said to the three with a small smile. Taylor playfully shoved the boy in return to his comment, earning a disapproving hard stare from her mother. Taylor locked eyes with the woman and instantly straightened up her posture and averted her eyes down. When her mother took her eyes off of Taylor, the girl and Blaise shared a glance and a small amused smile.

As soon as the adults got everything in order, The Wests, Malfoys, Zabinis, and Notts began their journey to the quidditch world cup

~~~
The four families arrived at the world cup; people were flooding in everywhere. They navigated through the busy crowd and made their way towards the building, finally stepped foot on the stadium.
As they were making their way to the ministers box, Taylor suddenly heard something rather familiar; a voice.
"Blimey, how far up ARE we, Dad?"
The brunettes gaze instantly snapped upwards. Her eyes laid upon the entire Weasley family, Harry, and Hermione. In between the twins stood Alaska Jones, whom Taylor also happened to notice. She was currently staring into the quidditch pitch in awe.
Before she could yell up to her friends, Lucius Malfoy cut in; unfortunately he heard Ron's voice as well.
"Let's put it this way; if it rains... you'll be the first to know." The man smirked at his own comment.
With his eyes on Harry, Draco chimed in: "We all have been personally invited by Cornelius Fudge himself to join him in the ministers box." A proud (yet childish) grin was plastered on his face as he bragged. Taylor couldn't help but to burst into laughter at his childish display of excitement, which earned a questioning and confused look from her friend.
"Don't boast, Draco." His father said to him, placing his staff on the boy's shoulder. "Theres no need with these people."
Taylor furrowed her eyebrows at Lucius. "Why are you being such an-" She was stopped by a tight grip being placed on her shoulder. Her father had put his hand on her, silently warning her to behave.
The girl rolled her eyes and took a deep breath to calm herself down, then straightened up her posture so her father would let go. The girl shot an apologetic look up to Harry and Ron, feeling bad that she wasn't able to defend them.
"Do enjoy yourself... while you can."
And with that, our two groups parted ways.
Fireworks of nearly every color went off and filled the sky as Taylor, her father, Draco, and Lucius made their way towards the ministers box, catching up with the rest of their lot.
Inside the Minister's box, Blasie and Theo had already taken their seats (and were currently staring out into the quidditch pitch happily watching the fireworks go off) while the Minister was standing with Elenor West, Iris Zabini, And Theodore Nott I - they seemed to be having a delightful conversation. Taylor and Draco took their seats, joining their two incredibly excited friends.
"Good evening! It gives me great pleasure to welcome each one of you here to the final of the 422nd Quidditch World Cup!" With a flick of the Ministers wrist, he shot out a white spark.
"Now, let the games begin!"
The crowd exploded with cheers as the match came to an end; fists flew into the air and eyes flung wide. Everyone - well, majority - we're ecstatic about the Irish's win.
Quinn Berry shouted out in joy in the direction of the Quidditch Pitch. She was extremely happy that the Irish has won - one reason being she had made a bet worth 5 galleons with her father that the Irish would win.
"Well, Quinn, Here's your 5 galleons." Her father reached into his pocket and handed her 5 golden coins. She snatched the galleons quite abruptly from his hands, giving a wide grin in her fathers direction.
"HA! I knew the Irish would win!"
Her father shoved her arm jokingly and smiled. "It was close, though, with Viktor Krum catching the snitch and all."
"Well, the Irish won without even needing the snitch to be caught; it just shows the seeker isn't everything." She winked at him and then averted her attention to the 5 gold coins in her hand.
Her parents stood up from their seats; a sign that they were getting ready to leave. Quinn did the same and stood up, looking out onto the quidditch pitch one last time. Her parents announced that it was time to head back to the tent now; they were hoping to beat the crowd - but of course many others had the same idea.
The blonde followed her parents as they made their way through the busy crowd. There was loud chattering between all the people and distant cheers and shouts could still be heard. Quinn smiled got herself; something about the crowd brought joy to her.
"Quinn!"
She sharply turned around at the sound of her name. She met a pair of grey eyes.
"Cedric! You're here too!" Quinn smiled up at the boy whom she has been friends with for quite some time now.
"Of course I am! How would I miss this? Besides, my father works for the ministry."ย  a smile crept onto Cedrics face as he continued. "I also wanted to see if I could learn some new tactics from this game to beat you guys in quidditch back at Hogwarts."
Quinn jokingly punched the Hufflepuffs arm. "You wish you could beat us!"
Cedric opened his mouth to say something, but before he could, a loud high pitch squeal sounded from behind him.
"QUINN!!!!"
The blonde girl leaned to the side to look past Cedric where she found a girl fully decked out and dressed in green Irish Merchandise.
"Laska!!"
Quinn ran over to her underclassman as Alaska attacked her with a huge hug. "AREN'T YOU GLAD THE IRISH WON?" Alaska cheered as she released Quinn.
The girl answered her question with an eager grin and nod.
Alaska continued, "OH! Did you see those chasers out there!? We have to learn how play like them!"
The girl giggled in excitement while jumping up and down.
"Definitely!" Quinn joined in on the laughter.
Alaska turned around, noticing the Weasley family heading towards the stadium exit. "I guess i'm leaving, See you at Hogwarts!!" the Gryffindor waved goodbye to Quinn and skipped off on the direction of the red headed family.
"Quite the energetic one, isn't she?" Cedric said to Quinn with a smile. Because of her interaction with her fellow quidditch teammate, Quinn nearly forgot Cedric was there.
"Yes indeed." Quinn let out a laugh.
Both Cedric and Quinn concluded their conversations and exchanges goodbyes, walking their separate ways.
As Cedric walked away, he turned his head and looked back towards the Gryffindor, who currently was too focused on trying to catch up with her parents to notice his eyes on her.
~~~

The Berrys made it their tent without a problem. Currently, Quinn and her mother were just settling down and having quite the discussion about match.

A terrorizing scream sounded nearby, interrupting the pleasant conversation. More screams became audible, and Quinn and her parents attention instantly shifted towards the noise. Her fathers eyes widened and he walked to the tents entrance at a quickened pace.

"Wait here."

He disappeared for a moment; he went outside to see the cause of the screams.

He rushed inside. "We have to get a portkey."

Quinn's mother stood up at once, a look of concern crossing her face. "What is it? What's going on?"

"It's the Death Eaters"

Quinn's face fell and stomach dropped when she heard the news. She froze in shock, unable to move. Her mind was racing with concerning thoughts; for some reason a recurring image of Cedric kept popping into her head. She couldn't bear to see something happen to him.

"We have to go, Quinn, Come on." He father said sternly, snapping her out her thoughts. she wasn't completely flustered - which caused her focus to be all over the place.

Her mother took her hand and led her out of the tent, heading in the same direction as the rest of the crowd.

Quinn was utterly aghast and in shock. She couldn't think straight and she was overwhelmed by the sudden change of events.

She bumped into more and more people by the minute; it only took one more person to knock her off her feet, losing the grip on her mothers hand. She fell to the ground, causing her vision to become hazy and blurry. She could faintly hear the sound of her name being called out, but those shouts became more and more distant. In an instant, her vision became black.

~~~
Quinn opened her eyes slowly and sat up straight. she placed a hand on her head; she seemed to have a slight headache... On second thought, it wasn't very slight at all.
The girl winced in pain as she stood up, putting her arms out to her sides so she didn't lose her balance.
Suddenly, she heard footsteps nearby.
A taller man cane out of the shadows and into her sight - he was wearing a trench coat and hat. he was positioned so she could't quite see his face.
The man held out a wand towards the sky, and shouted,
"Morsemorde!"
A bright green flash erupted from his wand and shot into the sky. A emerald colored skull appeared etched across the sky with a serpent protruding from its mouth as if it were its tongue. The figure rose higher and higher into the sky.
Nearby, A figure quickly ran and hid behind a tree - which caught Quinn's attention quite fast. Quinn looked back one more time in the direction of the man who cast the spell - only to see him run away in the same direction in which he came from.
She turned back to look at the tree that the figure was hiding behind. She heard voices, familiar voices.
"Harry?" she whisper-shouted.
A boy poked his head out from behind the tree. It was Harry. "Quinn?" He walked up to her at a quickened pace, Ron and Hermione at his heel. "What are you doing here?"
"Well I could ask you three the Same question."
Before anyone had a chance to speak, a group of adults came running toward them. They instantly started firing at the teenagers; resulting in the four to duck down.
"STOP! That's my son!" a voice among the group cried out. Soon Arthur Weasley approached the Gryffindors, asking them if they were alright.
"Which of you conjured this?" One of the Ministry workers, Barty Crouch, sternly asked the kids.
Quinn looked personally attacked by this and said, "I Don't even know what that-"
"Do not lie! You have been discovered by the scene of the crime!" The man shot down Quinn's protest; he was not having it.
"Crime?" Harry echoed.
"Barty, Their just kids." Arthur said to his coworker.
Harry - not too happy about his question being ignored - decided to ask again. "What crime?"
Hermione elbowed him. "Harry. That's his mark."
Harry eyes widened in realization. "Those people in masks, their his too, right? his followers?" Everyone stayed silent; the silence was enough to answer Harry's question. "There was a man. Before. Over there."ย  Harry informed The adults, pointing to the are where the man in the trench coat once stood.
"I saw him too" Quinn chimed in.
"Well, who was it?" Bart Crouch asked the two.
Quinn shook her head. "I don't see his face."
Barty Crouch inhaled sharply. "All of you, this way."
Everyone followed behind the man. Quinn looked up into the sky one last time, seeing the Dark Mark sway across the sky swiftly. There was no doubt she was afraid.
Even though the year hasn't even started, she sensed this was just the start of utter chaos.
