DEATH TRAP

Meilani held onto the metal bar on her side of the door while Stiles gripped onto his like it was going to save his life. "LOCK IT, STILES!"

"Lani, does it look like I have a key?" Stiles countered.

Meilani looked around as her anxiety continued to spike. Whatever that thing was outside, she did not want it coming in here. She still had no control over her shifts and had no idea how to fight off something like that just yet. There was no way Meilani could protect both her and Stiles if it tried to attack them.

"Grab something!" Meilani exclaimed as she frantically tried to find something to jam the door closed with.

"Oh yeah? Like what?"

"I don't know, Stiles! Something!" Meilani huffed in frustration.

Stiles seemed to have an idea as he quickly popped up so he could look out the door window. Meilani continued to yell at him while Stiles looked around outside and his eyes suddenly landed on something just outside the door. She stood up next to him and saw that he had noticed a pair of wire cutters.

As if Meilani knew what Stiles was thinking she tugged at his arm. "No, Stiles. You can't go out there. It's still out there and can hurt you."

"Babe, I'll be fine. It's the only way to keep the door secure. You have to trust me," Stiles assured her and gently removed her hand from his arm. He gave her a quick kiss on the cheek and slowly opened the door. He slipped out through the small crack in the door he made and scanned the area. Not seeing the alpha out there anymore, he jogged down the three stairs that lead to the door and beant down to pick up the wire cutters.

Meilani happened to look over Stiles' shoulder at the same time the alpha slowly crawled around from behind Stiles' Jeep. Her eyes widened and she started banging on the door to get Stiles' attention.

Stiles slowly looked up and audibly gulped when he saw the alpha slowly making his way towards him. Scrambling back up the stairs, Stiles tore the door open and shut it behind him quickly. He pulled the wire cutter's arms apart and stuck it in the door's handles, holding it tightly together.

Meilani peered out the glass window on the door and didn't see any form of life outside. "Where did it go?"

Stiles took the flashlight from the ground and shined it outside the glass window of the door to look around outside. Once he was sure that the alpha was gone, he slowly lowered the flashlight and motioned for Meilani to back up with him.

When they were a safe distance away from the now sealed door, Meilani turned to her boyfriend. "That won't hold will it?"

"Against that thing?" Stiles asked and pretended to think about it for a second. "I'm going to go with a definite no."

Meilani sighed and turned to look around them, a million different thoughts and scenarios played around in her mind as she tried to think about what to do. They could be reckless and try to make it to Stiles' Jeep where they then drive away. However, the alpha was pretty quick so even if they did make it to Stiles' Jeep alive, neither one of them would be able to survive if the alpha caught up to the car.

A sudden howl cut off Meilani's thought process and she exchanged a look with Stiles. It seemed they both had the same idea as they rushed into the classroom that was to their left. Stiles yelled for Meilani to help him push the desk to the door and she rushed to the other side to start pushing. The metal desk made a screeching sound and Stiles huffed.

"The door is not going to keep it out," Stiles said as he glanced back at the door.

"Ugh, I know!" Meilani growled, running a hand through her hair. She really wish she had a way that could keep them both safe. If not her, at least Stiles. It would kill her to know if this new life she had wound up killing him. He didn't deserve to be thrown into the death pool like this. This was the exact reason Meilani didn't want to tell Scott just yet, if at all at this point. There was danger left and right and she wasn't sure if she was strong enough to save him if he got in a crossfire.

"It's your boss," Stiles suddenly stated and it caught Meilani completely off guard. Seeing the confusion flash across Meilani's face, Stiles continued, "Deaton? The alpha? Your boss."

"What? No way, Stiles. Are you serious?" Meilani scoffed.

Stiles leaned his weight on the desk, his feet nearly lifting off the floor. "Yes! Psycho, murdering werewolf."

Meilani raised an eyebrow at Stiles' use of the term psycho, murdering werewolfΒ to which he sheepishly apologized. She shook her head at the thought of Deaton being the alpha. "No, it doesn't make sense, Stiles."

"Oh, come on!" Stiles whispered, looking at his girlfriend as if she had suddenly gone crazy like the alpha outside. "He disappears and that thing shows up two seconds later to throw Derek twenty feet through the air? That's not convenient timing?"

"it's not him!" Meilani stressed.

"He killed Derek, Lani," Stiles reminded her to what happened not even five minutes ago. "You were there. You watched it happen.'

"No. No way. Derek can't be dead." She would not believe for a second that Derek could be dead. Meilani knew he wasn't invincible but there was no way he could be dead. He could heal himself from that... right?

"Babe, did you hit your head? There was blood spilling out of his mouth, okay? That doesn't exactly qualify as a minor injury. Derek is dead and we're going to be next if we don't figure something out."

Meilani sighed and rubbed at her face a few times to try to get herself to focus. "I don't know what to do, Stiles."

Stiles breathed hard as he tried to calm his accelerating heartbeat. If it beat any faster, it might just jump out of his chest and run off like he wanted to do. "Okay, um... we get to my Jeep. We get out of here and you seriously think about quitting your job. Also, get Scott to quit too somehow. Tell him Deaton is like a mass murder or something."

Meilani chewed her lip as she thought about the plan. She wasn't sure how foolproof it was because the alpha was a lot faster than Stiles' Jeep. He could catch up in no time and then they were really screwed. At the same time, Meilani wasn't sure she wanted to stay in the school all night and then have to explain to Melissa and Scott why she never showed up at home. She would never hear the end of it, especially Scott who worried more about her than himself sometimes. Sometimes she chalked it up to just being a twin thing, and the other times she chalked it up to him trying to take over their dead beat's father place as the man of the house. Meilani wasn't sure which one tugged at her heart more.

After a minute, Meilani finally agreed and made her way over to the windows of the classroom, trying to get them to open.

"They don't open. The school's climate-controlled," Stiles said, pulling Meilani away from the window.

"Then we break it."

"Which will make a lot of noise and the alpha will think we're still in here when we're actually running to my Jeep," Stiles added on, his thought process quickly catching onto Meilani's.

"Then we run really fast," Meilani looked around outside and filled with relief when she saw no sign of the alpha anywhere near the Jeep or in the perimeter. "Really fast." She continued to look out as Stiles took a scan of the room to find something to break the window with. Meilani froze when she saw Stiles' hood bent up and her eyes widened. "Stiles, what's wrong with your Jeep?"

"What do you mean? Nothing's wrong," Stiles replied, his chest heaving as his heart picked up speed again at the mention of something being wrong.

Meilani took a step closer to the window to get a better view of the car. "I mean, it's bent, Stiles."

"It's dented?!" Stiles exclaimed as he peered over Meilani's shoulder and whined when he saw the state of his car. "What the hell happened to..."

Stiles was cut off as the window next to him shattered and he quickly dropped to the ground, pulling Meilani under him to protect her. Once the falling of glass settled, he slowly peered up from his position and shined the light to find what broke the window. He swore under his breath as he scrambled back up to his feet. "That's my battery!"

Meilani pulled him back down and shook her head. Stiles tried to coax her into getting up since they really needed to move. She pulled him back down again as he tried to stand. "He could be right outside!"

"Unless you haven't noticed, he is right outside," Stiles whispered. He frowned as his flashlight shone on the battery of his car again. That was going to take a lot of money to fix.

Meilani bit her lip as she looked up at the row of windows above them. "Just let me look, okay?" Without waiting for Stiles to respond, she poked her head out and looked around outside. She relaxed slightly when she saw no sign of the alpha outside. Either he was really good at hiding in plain sight, or he moved on to try to get to them inside.

"Move now," Stiles ordered and Meilani nodded silently in agreement.

They both stood to their full height and quietly made their way into the dark hallways of the school. The only light was coming from down the corridor where the moon was coming in through the window. It was like being stuck in a horror movie where there was no light and just endless miles of hallways. Meilani would rather deal with ghosts and demons like Sam and Dean Winchester in SupernaturalΒ than this alpha that was trying to kill them. At least with the ghosts and demons, she knew how to kill them thanks to Supernatural. Why couldn't she have been dealt with ghosts rather than being bitten and turned into a creature of the night?

Meilani made a move to go down the hallway to their left but Stiles stopped. "No, we need some place with no windows."

"This whole building has windows, Stiles."

"Less windows," Stiles corrected himself as he tried to think of a room that had next to no windows in it.

"The locker rooms," Meilani suggested.

Stiles agreed before they both started off down the hallways and rushed into the boys' locker room around the corner. They closed the door quietly behind them and leaned against a row of lockers. Meilani had never been in the boys' locker room before, but it smelled a lot nicer than what she thought it was going to. It was made up the same way as the girls' locker room with three rows of lockers, three stalls for bathrooms and three showers along the back wall with sinks and mirrors next to it.

"Call your dad," Meilani ordered.

"And tell him what exactly?" Stiles challenged as he continued to shine his light around them.

Meilani shrugged, not knowing a good excuse at the moment. "Anything. Gas leak? Fire? Something! If that thing sees the parking lot filled with cop cars, it'll take off."

"What if it doesn't, Meilani? What if he goes completely Terminator and kills every cop in sight, including my dad? I'm not throwing him into this. No way," Stiles argued.

"They have guns," Meilani feebly tried to defend herself. Part of her knew that Stiles was right, and the other part was just screaming at her to get someone more advanced to help them. Clearly Derek wasn't an option. The next best thing is the police.

"Yeah, and Derek had to be shot with wolfsbane-laced bullets to even slow him down, you remember that?"

Meilani groaned in defeat. Their options were dwindling and her head started to spin with how much stress she was under. "Then we have to... we have to... have to find a way out. Run for it."

"There's nothing near the school for at least a mile. We'd never make it on foot against that thing," Stiles countered.

"What about Derek's car? It's a sports car so it'll go a lot faster than your Jeep," Meilani offered.

"That could work. We go outside, get the keys off his body and then we take his car," Stiles added.

"And him."

Stiles sighed and shook his head. "Yeah, fine, whatever." He lead the way over to the door and just as he was about to grab for the handle, Meilani quickly grabbed his wrist. "Lani, what's wrong?"

"I think I heard something," Meilani mumbled, trying to use her wolf hearing to see if she can hear what sounded like a low growl from outside the door.

"What?" Stiles cried and Meilani placed a hand over his mouth to quickly shush him.

They both froze when they saw breath fogging up the glass of the window on the door from the other side. Both slowly backed up to where they were previously stood and Meilani slapped Stiles hand so he can hide the light from the flashlight.

"Hide," Meilani whispered.

Stiles, being the oh so graceful person he is, tore the locker beside him open and made Meilani cringe at the loudness of it. She scolded him quietly before rushing into the locker across from him. She tried to control her breathing as much as possible so it wouldn't be heard by the alpha. Meilani could hear Stiles' heart quieten down just enough so she couldn't hear it as well.

Meilani froze when she saw the door handle on the door slowly open. She pushed herself back against the back of the locker and closed her eyes, silently praying the alpha just walked by them and continued on somewhere in the school. When her locker suddenly opened, she screamed and quickly stopped when she noticed it was just the janitor.

Stiles stumbled out of the locker behind the janitor and hushed him quickly.

"What are you kids doing hiding in here? Are you trying to kill me? Get out!" The janitor scolded the two and pointed towards the exit of the locker room.

"Just listen for half a second, okay?" Stiles begged.

"Not okay. Get the hell out of here right now!" The janitor pushed the two of them out of the locker rooms.

Once in the hall, Stiles continued to plead with the janitor to listen to him and Meilani. They were trying to save his life and this guy only made it harder for them to do that. Meilani didn't want to see another innocent life taken just as bad as Stiles, but this guy made it hard for her to care with how rude he was to them.

The janitor was suddenly pulled back into the locker room and shoved against the door, screaming bloody murder. The two teens watched in horror as blood hit the glass of the window and jumped back. The janitor was dragged to the ground, disappearing beneath the glass and all they could hear was the screams of him being torn to death.

Meilani rushed to the door and tried to open it but the alpha must have locked it somehow from the inside and it wouldn't budge. Stiles grabbed Meilani and pushed her down the hallway before him as they both scrambled out of the hallway as quick as they could. At the end of the one of the hallways, they both rammed into the double doors at the end that would lead to the outside. However, it didn't budge, and Stiles cursed under his breath at the pain that shot up his arm.

"What the hell, Sti?" Meilani asked as Stiles pushed on the door that opened more than hers. She poked her head through his side and huffed. "It's a dumpster."

"He pushed it in front of the door so we couldn't escape," Stiles noted and gave up on pushing the door for a second to run a hand over his hair. "Come on, help me."

Meilani pulled Stiles back from the door as he continued to make raucous with all the pushing he was doing against the dumpster. "Stiles stop!" She tugged him back down the hallway they came down. Hopefully, they could make it to one of the other doors that lead outside.

"I'm not dying in here! I'm not dying in school!" Stiles yelled.

"We're not going to die, Stiles, relax!" Meilani quipped, slapping him lightly on the chest. "We'll figure this out together like we always do."

Stiles threw his arms up in the air as he let out a small cry. "What is it doing? What does he want?!"

"Me," Meilani responded and flinched at Stiles' horrified expression. She can already see the protectiveness side of Stiles coming out. Well, no going back now. "Derek said it's stronger with a pack."

"Oh, great. A psychotic werewolf that is into team work and trying to steal my girlfriend. That's just beautiful isn't it?!"

Meilani stopped by the window next to him and slowly pointed outside to where the alpha was stood on the roof on the other side of school. "Stiles..."

Meilani and Stiles looked at each other before rushing off down the hallway just as the alpha broke through the window they had just been stood in front of. They pushed through the doors that lead to the stairs going down to the basement and they jumped down the stairs at max speed to put more distance between them and the raging beast.

Once in the basement, Stiles and Meilani turned the corner and leaned against the lockers behind them. Meilani peered around the corner to see the alpha slowly looking around in hopes of finding them. She pulled back and tried to calm her racing heart. Stiles motioned for her to follow him and the two rushed around the next corner.

"Alright, we have to do something," Stiles stated as they both slowly backed up.

"Yeah, like what?"

"I don't know. Kill it, hurt it, inflict mental anguish on it. Something."

As the sounds of the alpha grew closer to them, Stiles fumbled in his pocket for his keys which made a loud rattling sound. Meilani tried to tell him to be quiet but he just ignored her and pulled his keys out of his pocket. He threw the keys into the room next to them and then pushed Meilani to continue down the hall to hide.

Once the alpha came rushing into the room, Stiles closed the metal door closed quickly, locking the alpha inside. "Get the desk!" He yelled and Meilani quickly pushed the desk next to her in front of the door, blocking the alpha's exit.

Stiles jumped away from the door when the alpha banged against the door. "Come on get across!" He said to Meilani who was trapped on the other side of the desk because of how narrow the walk way they were in was.

Meilani ran across quickly and moved to the other side of Stiles on the wall. She pulled him back as he tried to peer through the metal bar on the door window. "What are you doing?"

"I just wanna get a look at it," Stiles replied as he made a move to get on the desk but was pulled back again. "Lani, it's going to be fine. He can't get out." He slowly climbed on top of the desk and shined his light inside as he taunted the alpha. "Yeah, that's right. We got you."

"Stiles, shut up!" Meilani yelled and he turned to give her a look.

"I'm not scared of this thing," Stiles argued back. As if the alpha wanted to mess with Stiles, it jumped up and growled at him. He reeled back and fell off the desk and onto his back.

Meilani stood over him with her hands on her hips and a smirk plastered across her face. "I thought you weren't scared."

Stiles got to his feet and looked at the door, acting as if the last two seconds didn't happen. "Nope, not scared of you! Cause we're out here and you're in there. You're not getting...." Stiles trailed off as the sound of debris from the ceiling was falling to the ground, the alpha jumping into the hole it made.

Meilani glared at Stiles before they both rushed out of the basement as quickly as possible. Maneuvering their way around the basement, both teens froze at the sound of a phone ringing.

"You hear that too?" Stiles questioned as he turned to Meilani.

"I know that ringtone. It's Scott's," Meilani's eyes widened as her eyes lifted to the ceiling above them. "Why can I hear my brother's ringtone?"

Meilani grabbed Stiles' phone and quickly called Scott when she didn't hear anything for a minute.

"Stiles?"

"No, Scotty, it's me. Where are you?" Meilani asked as her and Stiles continued to rush about to get back up to the upper floors.

"I'm in the school looking for you,"Β Scott replied, confusion evident in his tone. "Why didn't you show up to Allison's?"

"Scott, where are you right now?" Meilani ignored is questions.

"On the first floor by the swimming pools."

"Get to the lobby, right now," Meilani ordered before hanging up the phone on Scott before he could say anything else to her. She handed Stiles back his phone and rushed up the nearest stairs to the lobby. She ran over to her brother as he made his way into the lobby. "Scott, what the hell are you doing here? Why did you come?"

"You asked me to," Scott replied, staring at his sister as if she sprouted fifty heads.

"I asked you to?" Meilani asked, completely confused on what was going. No way in Hell did she want Scott here. This was just going to lead to a whole mess of things that she wasn't ready for yet.

Scott unlocked his phone and held up the text message that he claimed Meilani sent. It had asked for him to meet her at the school because it was urgent. It was definitely from her phone because it had her name on the top of the screen, but she definitely did not send that text. She hadn't used her phone for a few hours now.

Scott looked between Stiles and Meilani warily. "Why do I get the feeling that you didn't send this text?"

"Because I didn't."

"Did you drive here?" Stiles interjected, clearly annoyed they were wasting precious time.

"Jackson did," Scott replied and pointed over his shoulder with his thumb in a general direction of outside.

Meilani groaned and pulled at her hair. "Why is Jackson here?"

"Allison and Lydia too. Meilani, what is going on? Who sent this text?" Scott snapped, growing very suspicious of why his sister and best friend were in the school at this late hour.

Stiles and Meilani sighed as Lydia, Allison and Jackson pushed through the double doors behind them. More people Meilani now somehow had to protect. Great. One of which she didn't necessarily care for.

"Finally!" Lydia huffed as they joined the group in the middle of the lobby. "Can we go now?"

"What? Did you bring the whole school?" Meilani asked and cowered slightly at Scott's glare. If he was a werewolf, he would definitely be an alpha. Meilani was kind of glad he wasn't one.

A heavy thud was heard from above them and all six teens glanced up at the ceiling above them. After another loud sound was heard, Meilani yelled for all of them to run. They rushed up the flight of stairs and down the hall with the alpha chasing behind them. It banged against lockers and growled constantly, snapping its teeth at them.

Stiles pushed the doors to the cafeteria open and quickly looked around as Jackson locked the bolts of the door into the floor. Meilani had Jackson help her push a milk fridge in front of the door. Stiles tried to warn Meilani about not being in here while Scott and the girls yelled at Meilani to tell them what was going on.

Meilani ignored them and told Allison and Lydia to just start throwing stacks of chairs on top of the milk fridge pushed against the door. Stiles tried to yell over their multiple conversations, but was of course ignored.

Finally, Stiles had enough and yelled loudly over all of them and they finally froze and listened to him. "Okay. Nice work. Really, good job, everyone. Now, what do we do about the twenty foot wall of windows?"

"Okay, can one of you explain to me what's going on here?" Scott demanded as he looked between his best friend and his twin sister. "Mei?"

Meilani pushed away from Scott and walked over to the side of the room, putting her face in her hands as she leaned against the table in front of her. This was all starting to get to her and she could practically feel the claws fighting their way out. She tried to calm her breathing as best as she could so she wouldn't go werewolf in front of her brother, his girlfriend and Lydia and Jackson.

Stiles looked over at his girlfriend, his heart breaking as he could tell how upset she was. Never had Meilani lied to Scott before she had become a werewolf. They always told each other everything no matter what. So now that Meilani had to lie to him to keep him safe, it was stressing her out and breaking her heart at the same time.

"Someone killed the janitor," Stiles spoke up after a tense moment of silence.

"What?" Lydia asked, shocked. She began to shake slightly and sidled closer to Jackson's side.

"Yeah. The janitor's dead," Stiles' voice shook as he continued. "Meilani and I saw the whole thing."

"What's he talking about? Is this a joke?" Scott scoffed and looked over at his sister who still had her hands over her face, shaking.

"Who killed him?" Jackson added on.

"No, no, no, no," Lydia said, shaking her head in disbelief. "This was supposed to be over. The mountain lion killed –"

"No, don't you get it!" Jackson cut off Lydia, a sneer on his face. "There was no mountain lion."

"Then who was it? What does it want?" Scott questioned, his gaze still on his sister. He could practically feel the stress radiating off her, and he wanted nothing more than to hug his sister. "Meilani?"

Meilani slowly turned around and dropped her hands to her side. "I-I don't know. I just... if we go out there, he'll kill us!"

"Us? He's gonna kill us?" Lydia cried and Jackson wrapped his arm protectively around her waist, pulling her flush to his side.

"Who?" Scott demanded and looked at Stiles because clearly Stiles was going to give more answers than Meilani. "Who is it?"

Stiles opened and closed his mouth like a gaping fish. Even he was stumped on a good explanation for this.

"It's Derek. Derek Hale," Meilani finally spit out and tried to ignore the look that was Stiles gave her. Derek couldn't be held accountable because he was dead, but that's what made it easier. No one would be able to find him because he was dead. They couldn't prosecute him.

"Derek killed the janitor?" Jackson asked, not believing a word of it.

"Wait, that guy from the woods? The one that drove Allison and I home?" Scott inquired as Meilani slowly nodded.

"Uh, yeah. I-I saw him do it," Meilani stammered, her heartrate spiking again. "Derek killed all of the people that have died lately. It was him. Not a mountain lion."

"All of them?!" Scott gasped.

"Yeah, starting with his own sister," Meilani choked out. The weight of all the lies suddenly became too much for her and she suddenly couldn't breathe. She dropped her weight onto the table and tried to take deep breaths. "And the bus driver, and the guy in the video store. It's been Derek the whole time. He's in here with us, and if we don't get out he'll kill us too."

"Call the cops," Jackson said to Stiles who immediately shot him down. "What do you mean, no?"

"I mean, no. Do you wanna hear it in Spanish? NO!" Stiles sarcastically retorted to Jackson, who glared hard at him. "Look, Derek killed three people, okay? We don't know what he's armed with."

"Your dad is armed with an entire sheriff's department! Call him," Jackson argued back.

"I'm calling," Lydia announced as she unlocked her phone and began dialing.

"Lydia, no!" Stiles shouted as he tried to reach for her. "Can you just hold on a sec?"

Jackson pushed Stiles back from Lydia as she tried to explain to the dispatch what was going on. Her eyes widened as she slowly brought her phone away from her ear and stared at the phone. "She hung up on me..."

"The police hung up on you?" Allison asked in disbelief. "Why would they do that?"

"They said they got a tip that they would be getting prank calls about a break in at the high school. She said if I called back again that they're gonna trace it and have me arrested," Lydia rushed out, her anxiety peaking.

"Then call again! They'll have to come then," Allison stated.

Stiles sighed and shook his head. "No, they'll send the car to your house before they even send it here. No one is going to come."

"What? What is this?" Allison stammered, holding her head. "Why does Derek want to kill us? Why is he killing anyone?"

The group of teens all turned their attention to Meilani. Feeling the weight of all their stares, she looked around at the group in front of her, all of their faces expectant. "Well, why are you looking at me?"

"Is he the one that sent Scott the text?" Allison asked.

"No! I mean, I-I don't know," Meilani responded, flustered.

"Is he the one that called the police?" Scott fired off next.

Meilani growled and ran a hand down her face. "I don't know, okay! Stop asking me all these questions! I just don't know."

Stiles noticed the tension growing thicker by the second, especially with the way Scott was staring at his sister as his suspicions visibly seemed to grow. He grabbed Meilani by the elbow and dragged her towards the table Meilani had previously sat on where they could speak privately for a second. "First off, throwing Derek under the bus like that? Nicely done."

Meilani sighed and dropped her forehead onto Stiles' shoulder. "I had to say something! If he's dead, it doesn't matter, right? Except if he's not... God, I totally just bit Scott's head off didn't I?"

"Scott will get over it, babe, okay? Bigger issues at hand here, like how do we get out alive?"

"But we areΒ alive. It could have killed us already. It's like it's cornering us or something," Meilani whispered.

"So what, he wants to eat us all at the same time?" Stiles sarcastically replied.

Meilani thought the whole thing through for a second, stealing glances at Scott and the gang who kept looking over at the couple's way. "Derek said it wanted revenge."

"Against who?"

Meilani's eyes instantly snapped over to Allison who was being comforted by Scott. "Allison's family."

"Maybe that's what the text was about," Stiles noted. "Someone had to send it."

"Okay!" Jackson exclaimed, cutting off Meilani and Stiles' conversation. "New plan. Stiles calls his useless dad and tells him to send someone with a gun and a decent aim. Are we good with that?"

Meilani sighed as she realized that really was their only option at this point. "Unfortunately, the meat head is right. Tell him the truth if you have to. Just call him, babe, please."

Stiles stared at Meilani in betrayal. He looked almost disappointed that she would even agree to having his dad jump into danger. He took a few steps back from her and shook his head. "I'm not going to watch my dad get eaten alive, Meilani."

"Alright, give me the phone!" Jackson snapped as he went to grab Stiles' shoulder. Stiles turned around punched Jackson in the nose, causing the other to stumble into the chairs.

Meilani held Stiles back from going at Jackson again. She pushed him over to Scott who was staring at Stiles in shock. He had never seen Stiles hit anyone a day in his life. Desperate times really did call for desperate measures. Stiles grabbed for his phone and dialed his dad's number, just giving in to what everyone else wanted.

"And it's your voicemail. Look, I need you to call me back now. Right now," Stiles broke off when there was a banging and growling sound against the door to the cafeteria. "We're at the school! We're at the school!" He hung up and stuffed his phone back into his pocket.

The group all huddled together against the other side of the room across from the doors that were constantly being rammed against in order for the alpha to get inside. Thankfully, they did a pretty good job with making it a little hard for the alpha to get in easily.Β

"The kitchen. There's a dopr in the kitchen that leads to the stairwell."

"Which only goes up!" Meilani reminded as she clutched onto his hand, his hand suddenly making her feel slightly calmer and safer. "What good is that going to do us?"

"Better than here," Stiles countered just as the doors to the cafeteria burst open.

authors note

Hey guys. Like promised here is Chapter 14 that I wrote in literally three hours so I'm pretty proud of myself. Usually this takes me a little longer, especially since I did about 25 minutes of this episode instead of the usual 15 or 20 minutes for a chapter. There was just a lot going on in that last scene and I didn't want to break it up into two separate chapters. I think I cut it off at a good point in the episode though!

As you can tell, we're getting to the more intense part of Season One so all the angst is going to be going down for the rest of the story. After this episode ends, we'll only have episodes 8 through 12 to go then this book will end before we go into Book Two. I'm trying to decide how long I want to take after this book ends to go back in and edit it up to fix up the grammatical stuff and anything I might have messed up/want to change to make it a little better before doing Book Two.
