The room was softly lit, the warm glow casting gentle shadows over the bed where Amara lay, wearing a simple nightdress that stretched over her swollen belly. Lucian sat beside her, his attention divided between the kingdom's affairs sprawled out in papers and his wife, whose presence always managed to draw his focus. Amara shifted slightly, her hand resting on her belly as she watched him with a fond smile.

"You're always working," she murmured, a teasing note in her voice, though there was no real reproach in her words.

Lucian glanced up from his papers and returned her smile. "And you're always watching me," he countered gently, setting the papers aside to give her his full attention.

"I have to watch my sexy husband work," her words made him chuckle as she moved closer to him, resting her head on his shoulder. He moved his arm around to securely hold her, closing the gap between them and pulling her flush against him.Β

A sigh escaped her as her eyes gazed at her belly. "I wonder what she'll be like," she voiced softly, holding his bicep as he smiled down at her.Β

"She'll be like you, kind, smart, pretty, and most of all she'll be cherished," Lucian shared lowly, loving every moment they shared talking about their unborn baby.Β

Amara hummed, listening to her husband's calm heartbeat which always soothed her. Life was just perfect, although there had been some royal issues around, the couple always managed to go through them together.Β

As their light conversation continuedβ€”about the baby, the palace, and little moments of their dayβ€”Lucian soon moved behind her, sliding his arms carefully around her as she settled into his lap. The weight of her body pressed against him felt familiar now, a soothing warmth that made the world beyond their room seem distant.

He gently began playing with her hair, his fingers threading through the soft strands. Amara sighed contentedly, closing her eyes as the sensation of his hands lulled her into peace. This had become their nightly ritual, a tender routine that started halfway through her pregnancy. His fingers grazed her scalp, easing the tension in her body, while his other hand massaged her shoulders, easing the ache that came from carrying their child.

"I'll never get tired of this," she whispered sleepily.

Lucian smiled softly, pressing his lips to the back of her neck. "Neither will I," he whispered back, his voice a low rumble against her skin. His hand rested on her belly, feeling the gentle movements of their child beneath his palm. His kisses trailed lightly along her neck as he held her close, her breathing slowly evening out as she drifted off, safe in the embrace of the man she loved.Β

Time passed as the season changed to slightly warmer, the couple sat in their bedroom which was filled with baby scent, filled with the delicate scent of fresh baby powder mingling with the subtle, clean aroma of diapers and baby lotions.

A rocking chair stood near the window, its cushions slightly indented from countless late-night feedings and lullabies. Toys and small clothes were neatly arranged in baskets, and the faint sound of coos and tiny breaths added to the peacefulness of the room, marking it as the serene domain of a couple newly blessed with their baby, Aria.Β

Lucian and Amara's life had shifted drastically since the arrival of baby Aria. Their once quiet nights now echoed with soft coos, and the days were filled with diaper changes and lullabies. The scent of baby powder seemed to linger in every corner of their room, a subtle reminder of their new chapter.

Lucian would often return from his royal duties with a tired yet peaceful smile, his arms immediately reaching for his daughter. "How was your day, love?" he'd ask her, his voice soft, full of admiration for how seamlessly she had embraced motherhood.

Amara, often cradling little Aria, would smile and sigh. "Full of diaper changes and figuring out her cries." They both chuckled at this newfound chaos, but there was an underlying serenity that came with it.

At night, after settling Aria to sleep, they'd lie together, talking in hushed tones about the day. "I can't believe she's finally here," Amara would whisper, her hand gently resting on Lucian's chest.

Lucian would brush a strand of hair behind her ear, his voice low and soothing. "She's perfect, just like her mother." His touch would linger, a subtle affirmation of their love.

Their sweet exchanges were laced with occasional exhaustion, but there was something pure about how they found solace in each other. Despite the new responsibilities, they made time to steal quiet moments, whether it was Lucian gently rubbing her shoulders after a long day or Amara playfully teasing him about how much their daughter already resembled him. They were learning, and adjusting, but most of all, they were thriving together as a family.

A/N

Hope you enjoyed this short last chapter! Just wanted to show their lives as young parents.

By now, you might've noticed that every chapter is a different story of their lives. I didn't think about this until part 3 xD

Anyways, see ya soon.

xoxo
