You spotted Five looking for something in the kitchen so you leaned against the doorframe and crossed your arms. "Whatcha doin' there, you little gremlin?"

Five turned around to look at you with a glare before going back to whatever he's doing. Allison came to the kitchen as well with a coat in hand. "Where's Vanya?"

"Oh, she's gone." Klaus said and you didn't even notice him sitting by the table.

"Yeah, I saw her left earlier." You added as you sat down on the table instead of the chair. You always had a habit sitting on the table instead of the chairs.

"That's unfortunate." Five said, not really giving a shit about Vanya being gone.

"Yeah." Allison agreed.

"An entire square block. Forty-two bedrooms, nineteen bathrooms, but no, not a single drop of coffee." Five complained with a fake smile plastered on his face.

"Dad hated caffeine." Allison reasoned.

"Well, he hated children, too, and he had plenty of us." Klaus' statement made you and himself laugh. "Ha! True though." You giggled.

Five rolled his eyes. "I'm taking the car."

Klaus' smile faded as he sat straight on his chair as if his protective mode activated. "Where are you going?"

"To get a decent cup of coffee."

"Do you even know how to drive?" Allison asked.

"I know how to do everything." And after that, he spatial jumped, leaving you, Klaus, and Allison alone in the kitchen.

"I feel like we should try and stop him, but then again, I also just kind of want to see what happens." Klaus snickered. He turned to you who was frowning. "You okay, baby sis?"

"I don't know where I should stay." You sighed. "I had an apartment but that was years ago. And probably someone else is living there."

"Why not stay here for a while?" Allison suggested. "We're all gonna stay here anyway."

"And what about after that? I'll stay here forever since I'm stuck on a 15-year-old body. No one's gonna take me seriously." When the two had no response after what you just said, you sighed heavily. "I think I'll be needing some decent coffee too."

You jumped off the table and dusted yourself off. Klaus stood up from his chair and shook his head. "You just like drank multiple cups of alcohol a while ago. Alcohol and coffee do not mix well. You'll throw up."

"Then I'll fucking throw up on Five for being a dick sometimes."

Klaus and Allison watched you leave. Allison turned to her brother who sat back down on his chair. "She drank a lot of alcohol?"

"Yeah... either she's alcoholic or she just doesn't know what she's drinking." Klaus shrugged.

"How the hell is she not drunk?"

Klaus stared at Allison for a moment before shrugging again. "I don't know. But I think the alcohol will kick in later. Our little sister's gonna be drunk as a skunk."

You got outside and saw Five starting the car. You quickly opened the window and sat on the passenger's seat. "What are you doing here?" Five asked. "Are you following me or something?"

"You won't be going alone cause I also need a coffee." You rubbed your temples in stress. "A lot has happened in one day and it's..." You sighed, unable to finish your sentence. Five softly nodded, understanding you. "Alright." He started driving and the whole ride was quiet. "Black coffee?"

"Any coffee will do." You told him without looking at him. You were like staring in the window, your head leaned against the car's door. "Fuck, I feel dizzy."

"How many have you drink exactly?"

You tried to count in your mind but your mind was a little fuzzy. "I can't tell. I swear it was... just a few..."

Five blinked twice before sighing. "The alcohol is just starting to kick in?"

"I never get drunk easily."

"Then maybe you drank plenty making you drunk already."

Five finally arrived at a place called Griddy's Doughnuts. Five got out of the car while you struggled. The boy rolled his eyes and opened the door for you causing you to almost fall. You got out of the car while Five closed the door. "I had that. I loosened it up for you."

"Yeah, sure, pulling the door on your side sure did loosen up the door." Five said rather sarcastically as he pushed the door to open it. He opened the door wide for you as you stumbled a bit to enter the diner.

Five sat down while you sat beside him, laying your head down on the table. Five impatiently rang the bell causing you to jolt up. "I'm awake! Geez. I won't be late for school."

"Did you really had to come?" Five sighed. "I need a coffee to relax and instead I'm here babysitting you. And why did the alcohol finally affected you now? Shouldn't it be like, what, earlier?"

A man entered the diner and just sat on the other side of Five. You turned to the man then smiled at him as a hello before laying your head on Five's shoulder, earning a tired sigh from Five.

The waitress finally came out and pulled out her pen and paper. "Sorry, the sink was clogged." She chuckled. "So what'll it be?"

"Uh, give me a chocolate รฉclair." The man kindly said.

"Mm-hmm. Sure. Can I get the kids a glass of milk or something?"

Five scoffed. "The kid wants coffee. Black. And for the other kid, give her some warm water."

"I want coffeee!" You whined.

Five shook his head at the waitress. "Don't mind her. Just a glass of water is fine for her."

Agnes, the waitress, stared at both of you in awe before listing your drinks. She turned to the older man and chuckled. "Cute kids."

Five gave the waitress a big fake smile before turning to the man. "Don't remember this place being such a shithole. I used to come here as a kid. Used to sneak out with my brothers and sisters and eat doughnuts till we puked."

Five looked down at you and assumed your were sleeping because of the soft snores you were making. "She loved the doughnuts here too. She's practically obsessed with them that we have to stop her from eating the other customers' doughnuts. She was so weird."

The boy sighed and brushed a strand of hair off your face. "Simpler times, huh?"

"Eh." The man answered. "I suppose."

The waitress finally set down their orders and Five quickly took the cup of coffee. The man paid for everything and Five thanked him.

You lifted your head up and felt your throat dry so you grabbed the glass of water and drank it, not listening to Five and the man's conversation.

After that, the man left when Five finally got a piece of information: an address to be exact. Five turned to you who just finished the glass of water. You leaned your head back to Five's shoulder and yawn. "Remind me again, to not drink ever again."

"No matter how many times I remind you or warn you, Eight, you never listen to me."

You thought about it for a moment before giggling. "Haha. Eight. That's a funny name."

"That's your name."

"I could've been a Nine or Eleven. I would like Eleven! Because, I can have a short nickname for Eleven! El! Or maybee... Ellie!" You rambled.

Five was about to drink his coffee and reply to you until he heard people from behind. He looked down at the reflection of the bell and groaned mentally. "Hmm. That was fast. I thought I'd have more time before they found me."

You turned around and saw men pointing guns at Five. "Okay. So let's all be professional about this, yeah?" The man said. "On your feet and come with us. They want to talk."

"I've got nothing to say."

"It doesn't have to go this way. Do you think I want to shoot a kid? Go home with that on my conscience?"

You snorted and pointed to Five. "He's not a kid." You slurred.

You were suddenly transported to the back of the counter. Five spatial jumped you to be safe at the back of the counter while he fought with the men. Hearing gunshots and blood splattering everywhere, a blurry memory came to your mind. It was blurry because your mind couldn't focus because you were drunk.

While Five fought with the men who were trying to kill him, Agnes found you playing with a shard of glass on the ground. She quickly crouched down to hide behind the counter and to get to you. You were about to eat the shard of glass until Agnes swatted the glass away.

You were about to complain until Five came in, indicating that the fight is done. Five turned to Agnes and smiled at her. "Thanks for keeping an eye on her. Have a lovely evening." Five picked you up in his arms and got out of the diner, throwing away the tracker that was inside his arm a moment ago.

Vanya stepped inside her apartment as sirens were heard, wailing in the distance. Crime never stops of course so why wouldn't she surprise to hear sirens in the distance.

Just as she was about to turn on her lights, Five turned on her lamp first, causing Vanya to jump in surprise. "Jesus!"

Five pressed his finger against his lips, shushing her. "Keep it down. She's sleeping."

Vanya furrowed her eyebrows in confusion so she looked around to see you completely unconscious on her couch. "What happened to her?"

"You should have locks on your windows." Five told her, ignoring her question.

"I live on the second floor."

"Rapists can climb."

"You are so weird." Vanya closed the door behind her with a shake of her head. She took off her coat and sat down beside your sleeping body. She raised your head up for a bit and let her lap be your pillow for a moment. Vanya stroked your hair comfortingly as her eyes scanned Five's arm. "Is that blood?"

Five glanced down at his arm before shrugging. "It's nothing."

"Why are you here?"

"I've decided you're the only one I can trust. Well besides Eight. I can maybe trust her when she's sober."

"Why me?"

"Because you're ordinary." You groaned in your sleep as if you heard Five said a sentence that hurt Vanya's feelings. Five quickly changed his reason. "Because you'll listen."

Vanya sighed before standing up. "Okay." She gently placed down your head back to the couch. "Give her a pillow or make your lap as a pillow for her. She hates sleeping without any pillows."

Five watched as Vanya went to the bathroom, grabbing some things. He looked back down at you and suddenly remembered when you two were kids.

"Can't I move, Eight?"

"No."

"What if I wanna drink water?"

"No."

"Eight, there are tons of pillows here. Just grab one."

"No."

"Why not?"

"You're my favorite pillow!"

Vanya got back with medical supplies and bandages to find Five no longer on his seat. She saw him patting your head softly with your head on his lap. Five looked up at Vanya and quickly looked away. "Shut up."

Vanya smiled before sitting down at Five's previous seat and started applying alcohol to the wound. He didn't really wince as if he doesn't feel any pain. "When I jumped forward and got stuck in the future, do you know what I found?"

"No."

"Nothing. Absolutely nothing. As far as I could tell, I was the last person left alive. I never figured out what killed the human race, but... I did find something else. The date it happens." Vanya waited for Five to say the date of the future he was saying. "The world ends on eight days and I have no idea how to stop it."

Vanya froze and stared at Five. This was a lot to take in and hard to believe if what he's talking about is really true. "I-I'll put on a pot of coffee."

You and your siblings came downstairs together and went to the dining room. Grace just prepared for breakfast and all of you stood by the chair, waiting for Reginald to arrive.

Your father has finally arrived and stared at all of you. "Sit." All of you obeyed and started eating. You looked at Five worriedly. 'He's still not talking to me. He got really mad when I stole his sandwich...'

You saw him glaring at his father intensely and you and Vanya exchanged looks of confusion. You flinched when Five suddenly stabbed his knife on the table. 'Jesus, the way he did that was scary. Almost as if he's gonna kill someone.'

"Number Five?" Reginald called out

"I have a question."

"Knowledge is an admirable goal, but you know the rules. No talking during mealtimes. You are interrupting Herr Carlson."

The record started playing again but Five dropped his utensils on his plate. "I want to time travel."

"What?" You asked him.

"No." Reginald simply told Five.

"But I'm ready. I've been practicing my spatial jumps, just like you said." Five stood up from his chair and spatial jumped beside Reginald. "See?"

You rolled your eyes at him, facepalming mentally. Reginald was unamused. "A spatial jump is trivial when compared with the unknowns of time travel. One is like sliding along the ice, the other is akin to descending blindly into the depths of the freezing water and reappearing as an acorn."

"Well, I don't get it."

"Hence the reason you're not ready."

Five clenched his jaw in anger. He has always wanted to time travel but Reginald won't allow him to do it. Five glanced at Vanya and you who were shaking your heads. 'Five, whatever you're gonna do, do not do it.'

Five looked back at Reginald. "I'm not afraid."

"Fear isn't the issue. The effects it might have on your body, even on your mind, are far too unpredictable. Now, I forbid you to talk about this anymore. "Five scoffed and turned around, walking away. "Number Five!" Reginald exclaimed.

"Five!" You called out, following him.

"Number Five and Number Eight, you two haven't been excused! Come back here!"

You followed Five outside the house and stopped him by the gate and held his arm. "Five, where are you going?"

"I'll show him that I'm not afraid, Eight. That I'm ready for time travel."

"It could be dangerous!"

"Don't worry, Eight. I'll be back in no time." Five reassured you as you slowly let him go and he ran off, probably trying how to time travel.

And after that, he never came back...
