I walked onto the Quidditch pitch for a final practise before Gryffindor's match against Ravenclaw. Madam Hooch held Harry's Firebolt in her hands, with pure admiration.

"Er - Madam Hooch?" said Wood. "Is it ok if Harry has the Firebolt back? Only we need to practise..."

"Oh - right - here you are, then Potter." said Madam Hooch. "I'll sit over here with Weasley..."

Ron also came to spectate the practise for a chance to ride Harry's Firebolt after. He had recently been sulking around. Apparently, he'd discovered blood on his bed sheet, and on the floor nearby was some ginger cat hair. This only meant Crookshanks had at last captured Scabbers, and eaten him for lunch.

"Rubi!" said Harry. "You have a Firebolt too?" This caught the rest of the team's attention.

"Huh? Oh - uh - yeah. I got one for Christmas." I said sheepishly. It wasn't a complete lie, I did receive it as a Christmas present but from whom I still haven't figured out. Apart from Fred, no one knows this secret.

"Two Firebolts on the team," Wood started saying. "Well this increases our chances of winning big time. Also, Harry, Cho Chang, a fourth-year Ravenclaw is Ravenclaw's Seeker, and she's pretty good... I really hoped she wouldn't be able to fit, she's had some problems with injuries..." Wood scowled his displeasure at Cho Chang's recovery. "On the other hand, she rides a Comet Two Sixty, which is going to look like a joke next to the Firebolt. OK, everyone, let's go-"

At long last, I was granted the opportunity to test out my new broom. Fred eyed me nervously. "Are you sure it's safe?"

"Positive." I flashed him a smile. Swinging my leg over, I kicked off from the ground. The wind whipping on my face and through my hair, the sound rushing through my ears. The Firebolt turned with the lightest touch, and travelled at a speed which turned the surroundings all into a mere blur. I swerved around to face Fred, who wore a look of relief.

I smirked. "Told you it's safe."

"Well you can't blame me for worrying, you're on my mind constantly - because you're my friend." A light pink tinted his cheeks.

I gave him a cheeky smile. "Don't worry about me, Weasley. You won't be able to get rid of me that easily." Winking, I swung the broom once again, to race over towards the Quaffle.

After a long period of hard practise, Wood beckoned to stop. He didn't have a single criticism to make, which George pointed out, was a first. ("I can't see what's going to stop us tomorrow!" said Wood)

Going through the changing room, I walked out with my broom slung over my shoulder, and a content smile plastered on my face.

Nothing can possibly ruin the match tomorrow.

On my way back however, I noticed a pair of eyes gleaming out of the darkness, due to which I froze on the spot. Whipping out my wand, I muttered "Lumos!"

A beam of light fell across, revealing to my utter surprise, Padfoot. I let out the breath I didn't realise I was holding. "Oh, it's you." Stashing my wand away, and glancing over my shoulder to check if the coast was clear, I proceeded cautiously towards Padfoot.

He happily licked my hand, deeming it safe to be with him, considering our last encounter. I chuckled, "Today's practise was great! We're sure to beat Ravenclaw tomorrow, and," my eyes fell onto my Firebolt, "I love my new broom." He barked with a hint of joy in his eyes.

"I'm still clueless as to who sent it though, and I don't know how I'm going to explain to Mum that I got my hands on a Firebolt." I shrugged it off. "Well, I'll deal with it later. If Sirius Black sent this," I may have imagined it but Padfoot seemed to be listening more intently, "then it's surprising that he didn't jinx it, I mean this would have been a great way to kill me. Anyways, enough about me, how have you been?" Padfoot licked my face and pushed his face further into my cupped hand, causing me to smile.

"You're adorable, you know that?" He whined as if further proving my point. "You know, I've always wanted a dog but my Mum never agrees, says she's had a bad experience with one, whatever that means." Padfoot seemed a bit deflated all of a sudden, which went unnoticed by me.

"Anyways, see you soon." I said before planting a kiss on his head, and I started towards the castle once more.

***

Delighted despite my tiredness, I merrily hummed along to the Gryffindor common room. Although shortly, I crossed paths with none other than Remus, whose face lit up when his eyes fell on me.

"Hello, Professor." I greeted with a wink, erupting a chuckle out of him.

"Hello Rubina, care to stop by my office or perhaps next time?"

"I have some spare time so of course, besides we have some catching up to do."

Nodding, he directed the path to his classroom. Once inside his office, he smiled before saying, "Your mother must be proud, she herself played Chaser."

I beamed with pride. "She is, can't wait to tell her about the win of tomorrow's match."

Remus raised an eyebrow, "Confident of winning, are we?"

I snorted at the comment, as I leaned back in my chair. "Of course. Wood was left speechless after today's practise, so I'm pretty confident, besides," I grinned mischievously, "You yourself said the other day that Gryffindor's going to win."

He rolled his eyes. "Anyways, I'm coming to watch tomorrow."

"You are?"

"Yeah, unfortunately I missed the last match since it was the full moon." He grimaced.

My mood escalated rather quickly. "Doesn't matter, last match wasn't worth watching anyways." I said bitterly.

Noticing my tone, Remus said, "Fiona was an excellent Chaser. Used to score most of the goals in almost all the matches. I bet you can't score more than two." Amusement laced his face.

I sat straighter in my chair, narrowing my eyes at him. "Is that a challenge?"

He smirked, "Perhaps."

"Alright then, here's the deal, if I score at least five goals tomorrow, you owe me five Chocolate Frogs, if I score less than five, then I owe you five Chocolate Frogs. So, do we have a deal, oh dearest Godfather?" I said with a smile playing on my lips.

Mirroring my expression he said, "Deal."

I stood up to leave and smirked at him. "Well, better have some chocolate to give me tomorrow." I paused for a moment. "Ah, who am I kidding, you always carry chocolate around with you." I flashed my shiny teeth at him. "See you tomorrow."

"Goodnight."

With one final look over my shoulder, I shut the door behind me, making my way once again towards Gryffindor Tower.

***

I awoke and the day began as any other, apart from the excitement running through my body as today was the Quidditch match. Right when I entered the common room, broom in hand, I was surrounded by the twins and Lee.

"Good morning Rubina!" Lee greeted.

"Morning Lee, morning Georgie."

"Good morning indeed. Can't wait to crush Ravenclaw today."

I lightly laughed. "Of course, and looking forward to that famous commentary of yours, Lee." I teased, erupting a laugh from him.

"Excited love?" Fred and I lingered behind the other two as we walked towards the Great Hall.

"Definitely! I'm getting some chocolate after today's win!"

Fred looked at me curiously, and spoke with a slight edge to his voice. "From who?"

"My godfather, of course."

"Godfather? You have a godfather?" He asked with confusion lacing his voice.

I clucked my tongue. "Might've slipped my mind to tell you, but don't mention this to anyone," I glanced around for any eavesdroppers before continuing. "Remus Lupin, as in Professor Lupin is my godfather."

His eyes widened. "Really? Professor Lupin?"

I nodded eagerly. "Yeah, I found out at Christmas with - well - the other stuff." I frowned before a smile replaced it. "We made a bet, I have to score at least fifty points for Gryffindor in today's match, because otherwise I'm the one who has to give him five Chocolate Frogs if I don't." I pouted.

He only showed off his cute smile, making fireworks go off in my stomach. "Well, I guess it's his loss. You're amazing at Quidditch." For some reason, I blushed at his comment.

We entered the Great Hall only to discover a crowd around the Gryffindor table.

"What's going on?"

"Dunno."

Heads turned into our direction, and excited chatter broke through. Confused, the four of us headed towards the Gryffindor table. The Slytherins looked thunderstruck and scowled at us.

"Ah Rubina, put your broom here." At the mention of broom, anyone who wasn't listening in was now. When my gaze landed on the table, I realised the emotion surging through everyone. Smirking at the Slytherin table, specifically Malfoy, I placed my Firebolt beside Harry's, basking in the attention.

"Hey Rubina." I turned to be met with none other than the Hufflepuff Quidditch captain, Cedric Diggory. "Congratulations on the new broom."

I smiled, "Thanks."

"You play beautifully, I bet you will do fabulous today with or without the Firebolt as this broom is nothing compared to your skill." He said in a flirtatious tone.

I blushed lightly. "Thanks. Um, hate to cut the talk short but I do need to grab a bite to eat."

"No worries, hope to see you around." He winked before departing to the Hufflepuff table. Grinning, I sat over with the boys and grabbed a piece of toast.

"What was Diggory saying?" Fred asked sourly, matching the scowl on his face.

"Oh." I waved an impatient hand. "He was just congratulating me on the Firebolt."

Fred's expression, however, didn't change in the slightest. "I don't know, he seemed too cozy with you."

I sniggered. "Relax hothead, it was nothing." This caused Lee and George to snicker as well, making Fred shoot a glare at them.

George piped up, the smile replaced with a more thoughtful expression. "But Rubi, it looked like you were blushing."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, so?"

Fred seethed. "Don't hang around with him! He's-"

I had had enough, and I cut Fred off immediately. "Fred, don't hold a grudge from Quidditch against him, he's very nice!" I huffed, "Besides I know how to take care of myself, and if I want to date someone that's my choice, not yours!" My sudden outburst shut their mouths and no one dared to utter a word while we ate.

"Sure you can manage that broom, Potter, Black?" said the cold, drawling voice of Draco Malfoy. He'd arrived with Crabbe and Goyle to take a closer look.

"Yeah, reckon so," said Harry casually. I stayed quiet to watch Malfoy more carefully.

"Got plenty of special features, hasn't it?" said Malfoy, eyes glittering maliciously. "Shame it doesn't come with a parachute - in case you get too near a Dementor, Potter. Well," his eyes moved onto me,"you Black on the other hand would get the Kiss from the Dementors, wouldn't you? Just like that scum of a father of yours." Sharp gasps were heard around while Crabbe and Goyle sniggered.

I spoke in a dangerously low voice, which rose higher with each word.

" How. Dare You. He is not my father, you piece of shit!" I was up on my feet now and moved towards Malfoy, who looked terrified, regretting his words, but a hand slid around my waist, preventing me from doing so. Looking back, Fred gazed into my eyes and shook his head. Exhaling, I slumped against him, feeling his heartbeat while at the same time glaring dangerously at Malfoy.

"Pity you can't attach an extra arm to your broom, Malfoy." said Harry. "Then it could catch the Snitch for you." The Gryffindor team laughed loudly including myself, and I felt at ease knowing Malfoy had been beaten, who narrowed his eyes before stalking away.

"Love, you okay?" asked Fred with concern.

"Yeah. My cousin shut his mouth alright." I whispered with a smile, making him grin as well.

At a quarter to eleven, the Gryffindor team set off for the changing rooms. The weather couldn't have been more different from our match against Hufflepuff. It was a clear, cool day, with a light breeze; there would be no visibility problems this time. I could hear the rest of the school moving into the stadium beyond. Taking off my school robes, I pulled on my scarlet Quidditch robes.

"You know what we've got to do," said Wood, as we prepared to leave the changing rooms. "If we lose this match, we're out of the running. Just - just fly like you did in the practise yesterday, and we'll be OK!" We walked out onto the pitch to tumultuous applause. The Ravenclaw, dressed in blue, were already standing in the middle of the pitch. Their Seeker, Cho Chang, was the only girl in their team. She was about a head shorter than Harry, and I noticed her smiling at Harry who wore an odd expression on his face.

"Wood, Davies, shake hands," Madam Hooch said briskly, and Wood shook hands with the Ravenclaw captain.

"Mount your brooms... on my whistle... three - two - one - "

I kicked off into the air and the Firebolt zoomed higher and faster than any other broom apart from Harry's. I snatched the Quaffle before anyone had even left the ground, and sped like a bullet towards the Ravenclaw Keeper. He seemed baffled but regained himself too late, and missed when I threw the Quaffle into the right hoop. I punched the air as Lee's voice boomed throughout the stadium along with the roars of the Gryffindors.

"TEN POINTS TO GRYFFINDOR SCORED BY THE FABULOUS FRIEND OF MINE, RUBINA BLACK! Wow, did you all see how fast she was on that broom? The big excitement of this match are indeed the Firebolts, which Rubina Black and Harry Potter are flying for Gryffindor. According to Which Broomstick, the Firebolt's going to be the broom of choice for the national teams at this year's World Championship-"

"Jordan, would you mind telling us what's going on in the match?" interrupted Professor McGonagall's voice.

I scanned the teachers' stand until my eyes found Remus'. I pointed at the broom and then winked, who only rolled his eyes at me and tried to conceal his smile but failed miserably.

"Jordan!" Professor McGonagall's voice cut through Lee's again, who had gone back to commenting on the Firebolt's performance. I on the other hand had stolen the Quaffle from a Ravenclaw Chaser.

"OK, OK, Gryffindor in possession, Rubina Black of Gryffindor heading for goal..." I streaked past Harry who was headed in the opposite direction, while Cho tailed him.

"Show her your acceleration, Harry!" Fred yelled as he went in pursuit of a Bludger that was aiming for Alicia. I soon realized I had two Ravenclaws on my tail, and since Angelina was closer I passed the Quaffle to her who scored, bringing our score to thirty, after the second one was shot by Alicia.

I remained near the middle of the pitch awaiting the Ravenclaw Chasers, and attacked them like prey, and before they knew what hit them, I was again speeding towards the Ravenclaw hoops. The Keeper had his eyes narrowed in concentration, but once again he was no match for me. I faked left before aiming for the right.

"ANOTHER TEN POINTS SCORED BY CHASER BLACK OF GRYFFINDOR!"

I smiled goofy, and resumed my play. The game continued with Angelina and Alicia each scoring a goal and myself, another two.

Nothing out of the ordinary, until Harry pelted towards the ground meaning he had spotted the Golden Snitch. Everyone waited with bated breath, the excitement rising until a bludger hit by a Ravenclaw Beater, veered Harry off course and the Snitch had vanished.

There was a great "Ooooooh" of disappointment from the Gryffindor supporters, but much applause for their Beater from the Ravenclaw end. I let out a growl of anger and frustration. George vented his feelings by hitting the second Bludger directly at the offending Beater, who was forced to roll right over in mid-air to avoid it.

Huffing, I caught the Quaffle passed from Angelina and bolted madly in anger and threw the Quaffle with such force, that it slipped through the fingers of the Ravenclaw Keeper, who wore an expression of shock.

"Gryffindor lead by eighty points to zero, and look at those Firebolts go! Black and Potter are really putting it through its paces now. See Potter's turn - Chang's Comet is just no match for it. The Firebolt's precision-balance is really noticeable in these long-"

"JORDAN! ARE YOU BEING PAID TO ADVERTISE FIREBOLTS? GET ON WITH THE COMMENTARY!"

I let out a whoop of laughter as I came to the understanding of why Lee's commentary is famous. I directed my focus to the game, and things were getting heated. Ravenclaw were pulling back; they had now scored three goals, which put Gryffindor only fifty points ahead - if Cho got the Snitch before Harry, Ravenclaw would win.

I saw Harry accelerate as the Snitch was spotted once again by the Gryffindor hoops, but next second, Cho had appeared out of thin air, blocking him. I could hear Wood yelling, "HARRY, THIS NO TIME TO BE A GENTLEMAN! KNOCK HER OFF THE BROOM IF YOU HAVE TO!" In the confusion of almost colliding multiple times, the Snitch had disappeared once again. I groaned as I kicked the air angrily.

Ugh! We're so close!

Harry hurtled towards the ground with Cho in toe only to pull up again sharply, with Cho almost crashing on the ground hard. Although Harry raced towards the Ravenclaw end, while Cho followed many feet below, it seemed victory was ours at last, but then-

"Oh!" screamed Cho, pointing. Distracted like Harry, I looked down and what I saw made the breath hitch in my chest, as my eyes widened in horror. Three Dementors, three tall, black, hooded Dementors, were looking up at us. I reached for my wand only to realise I left it in my dormitory. Cussing, I looked at the scene, and relief washed over me as my cousin was sensible enough to bring his wand along. "Expecto Patronum!"

An enormous, silver light erupted from the tip of his wand, which he had shot directly at the Dementors. Not pausing to watch, he looked ahead, and Harry stretched out his hand with his wand in its grasp, and he just managed to close his fingers around the Golden Snitch.

"YES! WE WON!" I cried out and sped towards the Gryffindor Seeker like the rest of the team, as Madam Hooch's whistle sounded. I threw my arms around Harry's neck and pressed a kiss to his cheek, and I was squashed by my teammates, all hugging Harry at once with such force that he almost was pulled off the broom. Down below I could hear the roars of the Gryffindors from the crowd.

"That's my boy!" Wood kept yelling. Alicia and Angelina kissed Harry and Fred had him in a tight grip. In complete disarray, the team managed to make its way back to the ground. We got off our brooms and looked up to see a gaggle of Gryffindor supporters sprinting onto the pitch, Ron in the lead. Harry had been engulfed by the cheering crowd. I was jumping up and down with happiness, and feeling a tap on my shoulder I turned to face Fred. I lunged at him, throwing my arms at his neck.

"Freddie, we won!"

"I know!" He flushed with excitement like mine. In the heat of the moment, without realising it, I kissed his cheek. Releasing him from the hug, I threw my head back as I let out a joyous laugh, while Fred looked thunderstruck by my action which I didn't notice.

"Guess I lost the bet?" A voice whispered in my ear. My grin became wider as I spun around at the familiar voice.

"You sure did, Professor Lupin!" I said, putting emphasis on the word "professor."

He only smiled. "You know you've inherited your parents' skills of Quidditch, including how seriously you take the game. Don't think I didn't notice you kicking and punching the air out of frustration."

In my excitement, I missed when he said "parents" therefore nothing dampened my mood. Rolling my eyes, I said, "Honestly, I didn't know I was this competitive, I guess I have some pride and fame to uphold while playing at Hogwarts for Gryffindor, don't I?" I winked, causing him to laugh and with a final nod he moved towards Harry.

Seeing the two leave the crowd, my curiosity begged me to follow and we stopped in front of a crumpled heap of Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle.

Confused I asked, "What is this?"

Noticing my presence, Remus answered, "The Dementors." I stared at him and back to the bundle of boys on the ground with brows furrowed together, until it hit me and my face turned into a scowl.

"An unworthy trick!" shouted Professor McGonagall, who was standing over them with the utmost fury on her face. "A low and cowardly attempt to sabotage the Gryffindor Seeker and Chaser! Detention for all of you, and fifty points from Slytherin! I shall be speaking to Professor Dumbledore about this, no mistake! Ah, here he comes now!"

"You know Malfoy, I honestly feel sorry for whoever is related to you, I mean how do they stand you?" I said, earning a venomous glare from Malfoy. I looked at Remus, who was staring at me in the most peculiar way. Blinking in uncertainty I spoke, "Are you alright R - Professor?"

Jerking slightly, he answered, "Yeah, I'm alright."

"Come on, Harry, Rubina!" said George, fighting his way over. "Party! Gryffindor common room, now!"

Feeling happier than I did in ages, I made my way back before waving back at Remus, who said, "Ah, a party. I remember the ones we used to throw." He smiled before his eyes filled with sorrow, I only gave him a knowing look before leaving, and my mind was full of the thoughts of the party.

Hey!

I hope you liked this chapter, I enjoyed writing it. Wow this chapter is really long. Also I do suck at writing the flirting scenes, so I am sorry if they sound bad.

School starts tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. :( Hopefully it won't be as boring as I think it will be.

Have a good day Potterheads! :)
