Fred and Rubi had walked in silence, the noise from the Great hall fading away before they were wrapped in the silent yet peaceful corridors.

Fred kept going, his mind set upon his location. For once, Rubi didn't bother to ask questions, instead her attention was upon their intertwined hands. She felt her hand tingle, but it felt perfect, as if their hands were meant to fit together.

"Love."

Rubi looked up at Fred who gestured to the front and Rubi realized where they were.

It was the Astronomy tower.

Rubi gasped as her eyes cast upwards onto the dazzling night sky. She walked forth to stop by the railing and observe the beauty of it all. The sparkling tiny stars, the bright and pretty nearly round moon, and Hogwarts decorated with lots of lights which were in fact its windows, and top it all off, the light snow that gently floated down.

"Freddie, it's all so amazing. I'm so glad you brought us here."

"It's neat alright but in my eyes, it's not even close to how amazing and beautiful you are."

Rubi felt the breath hitch in her chest as her gaze broke away from the landscape in front, and to the boy beside her, who was gazing at her intensely with a certain emotion in his eyes.

"W-what do you mean?" Rubi whispered out.

Fred released a breath, "What I mean is that there is no other person that has ever made me feel like you do. The way my heart races when you're close, how seeing you smile makes me happy, how you're always on my mind." Fred paused, shifting his body to lean forward against the railing.

"The way I feel about you, I have never felt about anyone before. It's a feeling that I love and I can't control it, it only seems to grow. It was killing me for keeping it in. I had to tell you sooner or later, so I chose now." He finished, looking up at the sky.

Silence greeted him as Rubi stared at the side of Fred's face in shock.

"Are you saying you... that you..."

Fred straightened, turning to look down upon Rubi, his eyes gazing into hers.

"I fancy you, Rubina Black. I've fancied you for a long time."

Rubi inhaled sharply as a certain feeling washed over her whole being. She froze, staring at Fred with wide eyes.

When a few long moments passed and the young Black gave no reaction, the light vanished from Fred's eyes and he sighed, running a hand through his hair, "I'm sorry about what I said. You don't return my feelings, just forget it."

Fred turned to leave and that's when Rubi snapped back, and moved quickly, grabbing Fred's face with her two hands, moving him back so she could look into his eyes.

"You have no clue how long I have been wishing for you to say those words to me."

A light sparked in Fred's chocolate eyes once again. He took Rubi's hands from his face and into his hands.

"Does that mean-"

"Yes, it does. I have fancied you Fred Weasley for a while now. The way I feel around you, I have never felt around anyone else. Feeling my heart soar, feeling as if butterflies erupted in my stomach, just your smile making me forget everything. I feel so relaxed and comfortable around you, and safe. It's just something that I have never experienced before with anyone else." Rubi paused, her lips turning upwards. "I fancy you, Fred."

A wide smile broke onto Fred's face at this, and his hands slid down to Rubi's waist, pulling her closer. Rubi gasped at the sudden action, her hands coming to rest on Fred's chest. She looked up into his eyes and he into hers.

"You have no clue how happy that makes me." Fred stated in a whisper.

Rubi could feel his warm breath on her face. She was sure he could hear her pounding heart. Fred's eyes flickered down to her lips and back, and Rubi released a shuddering breath.

Rubi let her eyes slowly flutter shut as Fred leaned forth. He captured her lips and it felt as if fireworks had exploded. Rubi's hands slid up to wrap themselves around his neck, while Fred pulled her even closer, trying to savor her as much as he could.

The kiss was passionate, the two trying to get as much of the other. To Fred she tasted sweet like the chocolate she adored so much. For Rubi, he tasted like the cinnamon from Molly's delicious cooking.

It was sweet, passionate, and gentle.

It was perfect.

The two finally pulled apart, panting as they leaned their foreheads together, trying to regain their breathing.

"You have no clue how long I have wanted to do that." Fred said.

"Took you long enough." Rubi answered as she moved away, smiling foolishly up at him.

"Me? You're the one who said you had feelings for someone else." Fred retorted, pinching her waist.

Rubi scoffed in disbelief, "You're the one that started it." She suddenly paused, as realization washed over her, "You three were talking about me that day, weren't you?"

Fred nodded, "Yeah."

Rubi looked up at him with almost like hurt in her eyes, "You know it was killing me ever since you said you fancied someone else."

Fred sighed sympathetically, raising a hand to Rubi's face, stroking her cheek gently but reassuringly.

"I'm sorry for that, love."

Rubi shook her head, "It's alright. I'm assuming that's why you didn't tell me, because it would mean confessing your feelings."

Fred nodded, "That's exactly why. You know I risked it all today, because I thought you fancied someone else, but I just couldn't keep it to myself anymore. If you didn't return my feelings, it would have at least given me some sort of a closure-"

Rubi placed her finger on Fred's lips, quieting him.

"Stop. Just forget it." She smiled up at him, "I'm just glad everything came out in the end."

Fred grinned down at her. "Aw, since when did you get so sentimental?"

"Just shut up and kiss me, Weasley."

"With pleasure."

The two slowly connected lips together, going for a shorter and sweeter kiss, before pulling apart, smiling at each other.

Fred opened his mouth, "Rubi, would you-"

The two jumped apart as a new couple came up, giggling madly. Fred and Rubi shared a sheepish look before the two walked out, goofy smiles plastered upon their faces.

They headed back into the Great Hall only to find the crowd going wild as the Weird Sisters played. Rubi and Fred sat down at one of the small, circular tables to eat. There was no food on the glittering golden plates, but small menus were lying in front of each of them. The two had noticed before how to get the food, so they called out what they wanted. They ate, smiling at one another and watching others dance in amusement.

"Fred, come on, let's dance!" And Rubi didn't await an answer as she grabbed Fred by the arm, tugging him along. They jumped and screamed, smiling and laughing with one another, as the crowd was jamming to and cheering for the Weird Sisters' performance.

Near the end, the song turned into a slow and gentle one. Fred grinned, slithering his hands around Rubi's waist and pulling her into his chest.

A huge smile graced the girl's face, who fought hard not to blush. Rubi placed her hands over top of his, letting her lean against his chest as her eyes fluttered shut, and the two swayed as one, basking in the feel of each other.

It felt perfect, just the two of them.

Fred turned Rubi around making the girl open her eyes, only to find Fred looking down at her fondly. He twirled her before bringing her back into his chest.

"I meant to ask this back at the Astronomy tower but we were interrupted." Fred paused, licking his lips, Rubi curiously watched him.

"It would make me the happiest if you became my girlfriend. So, would you do me the honor of being mine?"

Rubi gazed into his eyes, lost in those brown swirls. A huge smile broke onto her ruby lips at those words and she slowly nodded.

"I would love to."

Fred felt his heart leap out of his chest at that answer. A big smile broke onto his face and he spun Rubi once again, before dipping her.

Fred placed his lips on hers, the two feeling out of this world.

When they pulled apart for breath, Fred straightened them both and winked down at Rubi,

"You have no clue how happy I am."

Rubi let out a light laugh, "I think I can relate. Didn't take you to be such a good dancer, Weasley."

Fred grinned, "Oh I can do many things if I try."

Rubi raised an eyebrow up at him. Fred merely winked before the two fell into a peaceful silence.

The two only had eyes for one another, as they had awaited for each other for so long. Finally, a new phase had begun in their lives. One that would be full of many new elements.
