Dear James,

This might be the last letter I write to you for a while. I heard the enemies are moving closer to us and we have to work harder. We probably won't be sleeping much for a while. About two dozen of our soldiers were injured horribly only twenty miles from us. We need to get them to the tents and start working to heal them. I won't lie, James. I'm starting to get worried. This just keeps getting scarier and scarier, but I know what I signed up for. I chose to help our soldiers who are fighting this war and that's what I am going to do. I'm going to be the best damn nurse I can. I'm going to work until I can't anymore because the most important thing is that we all get home to our families. We will get to go back home. I'll pray for you everyday, James. I don't know when my next letter will be, butย  I'll write to you the second I get a chance. I hope to hear some good news about you soon. I love you with all of my heart, James.

Sincerely, Elizabeth
