WE'RE BEING PUNKED, PEDRO
part one

DRESSED IN HER SCHOOL uniform, the Elison girl sat on the floor of her Chemisty of Magic class, holding the hand of Hope Mikaelson and another girl who Guinevere did not know the name of yet.

The entire class sat in a circle, hands clasped together as their teacher, Mr. Williams spoke. "Alright father together. Chain spells are about the fluid movement of energy from witch to witch."

The man suddenly stopped speaking, once he took notice of absent student. "Where's Penelope Park?"

"Um, lady cramps, Mr.Williams." Lizzie said, her face slightly grimaced. Guinevere couldn't tell if the Saltzman girl was being serious or if she simply wanted to say something to make their teacher uncomfortable.

A look of discomfort made an appearance on Mr. Williams face as he heard what Lizzie had said. "Sorry I asked. A disharmonious group makes for an uneven flow."

Suddenly the room was filled with stifled laughter as the students noticed the double meaning behind Mr. Williams words. Guinevere giggled to herself, finding the situation funny.

Before the teacher could speak again, a folder piece of paper floated into the room, hovering just over Mr. Williams' head.

"Uh-oh, who's in trouble with the headmaster?" Guinevere heard Josie ask as they all looked at the paper being unfolded by their teacher, all curious about who was in trouble.

"Probably the people who started a rumble with the local high school." Hope lightly sneered towards the Saltzman twins, who had the instigators at the game.

Mr. Williams cleared his throat before he began reading the names off the list."Lizzie Saltzman, Josie Saltzman, Guinevere Elison and baby makes four. Off you go."

As Guinevere stood up from her spot on the ground, she couldn't help but feel utterly confused. She had no part in the brawl whatsoever and wasn't even on the field when it took place.

"This makes no sense, Dad. Why are we being punished?" Lizzie complained to her father as she walked up to the slightly upper level of the room, while the rest remained on the ground floor.

"Because you started a brawl at a charity football game that risked exposing what we really do here." Dr. Saltzman replied as he placed some books back into their rightful spot.

"Well, you weren't mad last night." The long haired blonde in the room retaliated.

"I was mad last night. My undying love for my daughters just happened to trump my rage. I volunteered everyone in the game, so stop complaining. You're lucky that it's just community service and not actual jail time." The Saltzman man responded, trying to help them see the upside of the situation.

"Can I at least offer a rebuttal in my defense, if it pleases the court?" When Dr. Saltzman didn't speak, Lizzie took this as she chance to retort.

"First of all, I was provoked. My response was totally proportional considering the levels of abuse that I was forced to endure. And secondly if anyone should take the blame, it's Josie."

"What?" The brunette Saltzman inquired, as betrayal coursed through her body.

"Lizzie." Guinevere gasped at how quickly the blonde Saltzman twin gave up her sister.

The blonde sighed as she looked at her twin. "I'm sorry. I totally cracked under cross, but if you had just let Kaleb catch the ball-"

Dr. Saltzman interrupted his daughter. "You'd still be in trouble."

"But nice job throwing your sister under the bus." The Mikaelson girl said, speaking up for the first time since they stepped into the room.

Josie glanced over to Hope, a look of slight confusion yet gratefulness gracing her face. "Thank you, Hope."

"Speaking of, the bus leaves in ten minutes, and I expect all four of you to be on it, working together today, harmoniously and without drama. End of debate." The Saltzman man spoke, a sense of authority in his voice.

"I wasn't even at the game. Why am I being punished?" Hope questioned, though Guinevere could sense that the girl already knew why she was in trouble.

"You know what you did. All right, now go, all of you. Come on." Dr. Saltzman said before ushering them out of the room.

Josie and Lizzie left the room, though Guinevere and Hope stayed behind. Both ready with reasons as to why they shouldn't be punished.

"Dr. Saltzman, with all due respect, why am I being punished? I was in the stands the entire time the fight took place." The Elison girl spoke, the confusion clear in her voice.

The man sighed as he looked at the teen in front of him. "Well Guinevere, according to a student, they saw you conspiring with Josie about using magic during the game. I had no choice."

The Elison girl scoffed at the accusation thrown at her. She already knew who it had been. "Would that student happen to be, Penelope Park perhaps?"

When Dr. Saltzman didn't reply right away, Guinevere had her answer. "Listen I'll go. I'll do the community service but you know why Penelope did that, right? She doesn't like me, and she doesn't like me near Josie."

A sudden look of interest came across the mans face. Guinevere sighed as she began moved towards the door, walking past Hope as she did. "Maybe you should get all the facts next time before you immediately believe the word of one girl."

"So, what did you do? My dad never gets mad at you. You're the prodigal daughter. Must have been juicy." Lizzie inquired as they all made their way off the bus, Guinevere finding herself standing to Josie when they did.

"Sorry, no time for girl talk. Public service awaits." Hope replied, quickly walking away from the blonde.

All right, listen up. It's a beautiful day. You got options: Litter, weeds, graffiti. Your choice." Mr. Williams, the teacher who had been sent along with to supervise their group, spoke. He handed out a litter picker, holding it in front of Kaleb, who have a very unamused look on his face.

When the teacher walked off, Kaleb spoke up, not hiding his annoyance. "It's bad enough we get punished while the humans get a pass, but there ain't no way in hell I'm picking up their garbage."

The boy then proceeded to hand the litter picker over to Lizzie, who held up her hands in disgust.

"Uh, I don't do trash either." The blonde Saltzman girl said, her voice filled with distaste.

Suddenly Hope spoke up, moving forward to take the trash collected from Kaleb's hands. "I love trash, as of this moment."

"Perf. It suits you." Lizzie quickly digged at the Mikaelson girl.

"Looks like we're scrubbing paint today." Lizzie said as she turned to face Josie and Guinevere, who weren't impressed.

"Lizzie, your dad told us to work together, okay, harmoniously." Guinevere spoke up from beside Josie, already annoyed with the blondes behaviour.

Yeah, and he also said without drama, and I am feeling a rage attack coming on, so I will be remaining drama-free over by that wall of graffiti." The blonde replied, nodding her head towards the graffitied wall in the distance.

"Are you coming or not?" She asked the girls, getting ready to walk away.

The brunette Saltzman girl sighed in irritation. "I don't know, Lizzie, is there another bus you want to throw me under?"

Josie then proceeded to grasp onto the Elison girls hand, pulling her over to stand next to Hope, though Guinevere had no problem leaving Lizzie's side at that moment.

Lizzie glared at them all. "Fine, Daddy's girls. Anyone else?"

A load of people walked from where their stood near the three girls over to Lizzie, all not wanted to anything that would benefit the humans. They all then walked away, Lizzie staying behind to call out go MG, who had yet to move. Stuck in a crossroads.

"Get the lead out, MG."

The Elison girl huffed as she stabbed yet another piece of trash that lay on the ground. The two girls next to her, both equally annoyed. Collectively, Guinevere, Josie and Hope were pleased though as they had nearly finished.

"What do you say that after this we all go and get milkshakes at the Mystic Falls grill?"

Josie happily nodded at the idea, a gleaming smile brought to her face. Her reaction caused Guinevere to smile in return, excited to spend some time with the brunette Saltzman girl.

Hope simply grimaced, a reaction that the Elison girl expected. It didn't take a genius to hear what people said about the Mikaelson girl. That she was a recluse, didn't have any friends and only spent time with Dr. Saltzman.

After a few minutes went by, Josie tied together the orange bag that she placed all of the trash she had collected, setting over next to the others. The Saltzman girl grabbed another bag, shaking it violently which grabbed the attention of Guinevere and Hope.

"You have a future in waste management." Hope spoke up for the first time since they began, a slight laugh in her voice.

"Cleaning up messes is kind of my thing." Josie replied to the Mikaelson girl, her voice filled with slight sadness.

Hope continued collecting trash as she spoke."Well, your sister is kind of a dumpster fire."

"Why do you always pick fights?" The Saltzman girl inquired, seemingly annoyed. "We've known each other a decade and any time you have the chance, you poke."

"You guys do your fair share of poking." The Mikaelson girl retorted.

"Yeah, in retaliation to your pokes. And with you spending so much time with my dad and keeping secrets." Josie replied, her voice becoming a little sad when she mentioned her father.

"We're not keeping secrets." Hope responded, attempting to sound convincing, though neither Josie nor Guinevere believed it for one second.

"Oh, yeah? What happened when you went to go find Landon Kirby?" Josie questioned, still suspicious of what happened.

"Nothing happened."

Something clearly did happen. Rafael never showed up at school, my dad was rattled, so why won't you just tell me?" Josie pressured, not backing down from the Mikaelson girl. She was determined to get the truth.

"Because there's nothing to tell!" As Hope spoke, she brought the litter picker to the ground, but missed and impaled herself through the foot.

Both Guinevere and Josie dropped what they had in their hands, and rushed over to the injured girl.

"Are you okay?" They asked simultaneously, wondering what they could do to help the injured tribrid.

"Help me pull it out." Hope told the two girls.

"What?" Josie questioned as Guinevere looked at Hope in confusion, clearly thinking she had heard the Mikaelson girl wrong.

"I can heal myself. Pull it out." In return both Josie and Guinevere grabbed onto the litter picker pulling hard until they yanked it out of Hope's foot, both falling on their backs as a result.

"You poked yourself." Josie said smirking at the Mikaelson girl, referring to the conversation they had just had.

Hope let out a laugh at the girls words. "Shut up."

As Guinevere continued working, she glanced over to at the Saltzman girl to see her doubled over, her hand on her stomach as though she was in pain.

"Josie, are you okay?" The Elison girl questioned, concerned about Josie's wellbeing.

Josie stood back up, still holding her stomach slightly. "Yeah, I just think that that's making me a little bit nauseous." She said before nodding in the direction of MG and Dana making out against the trunk of a nearby tree.

"Huh. Didn't see that coming." Hope said as she looked at the off putting sight before her.

The Elison girl sighed at she turned away from the sight, as Josie continued speaking. "It's simple math. MG has the hormones of a teenager and the impulse control of a preschooler."

Both Guinevere and Hope chuckled at the Saltzman girls words.

As Josie began to speak again, the Elison girl walked off to grab the water bottle she had brought with her. When she acquired the bottle, she sat down on the curb and took a sip of water.

"He also always goes for the wrong kinds of girls." Josie continued speaking. Guinevere unable to hear the conversation any longer.

Hope simply sighed. "Given my last crush, I can't judge."

Well, my last crush was actually Satan incarnate. That is, I guess, unless you count..." Josie said before quickly cutting herself off, glancing over slightly in Guinevere's direction.

"Who?" The Mikaelson girl asked, though she most likely knew who Josie was talking about.

"Never mind. It really doesn't matter." Josie said, brushing the topic aside.
