𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐅𝐈𝐕𝐄. | ❛ Avengers Extinction. ❜

THE REMAINING AVENGERS, including Helen Cho and Jamie's two students, were sitting around the big couch with Thor's hammer placed on the table between them. Jamie sat next to Robin, who had her head rested on her shoulder as she giggled at something Thor said. Steve, Robin's best friend, was laid down on her lap listening to their funny banters with an ice bag placed on his forehead.

"Whoever be he worthy shall haveth the power!" Clint acted out, his voice dramatic causing the two students to share a laugh.

Thor shook his head with a chuckle. "Well, please be my guest."

"Come on." Tony dared, giving Hawkeye a look.

Clint cleared his throat, throwing his drum sticks to the side before standing up from his seat. This earned multiple sounds of cheers, everyone having their full attention. "Oh, this is gonna be beautiful," Rhodes said, making Jamie's lips curve a grin.

Clint took a hold on Mjölnir, his grip on the hammer tightening as he tried to lift it. He failed to lift the hammer, making him laugh with frustration. "I still don't know how you do it."

Tony gave him a smirk. "Smell the silent judgment?"

"Please, Stark, by all means." Tony got up in confidence, his eyes darting across the room with a cocky look on his face.

Robin stifled a laugh, grabbing Jamie's arm. "Oh, here we go."

Maria grinned at the younger student, moving her attention back to Tony. "Okay."

"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge." Tony boasted, nearing the table.

     "Get after it."

     "Here we go."

Tony looked at the others. "It's physics." he pointed out with a knowing look. He grasped Thor's hammer. "I will be re-instituting Prima Nocta," he said before lifting the hammer with all his strength. It didn't budge.

"I'll be right back," Tony said, coming back with his armored hand. He failed to lift it as well, watching how he strained himself to lift the hammer.

Soon Rhodes ended up in the same position as Tony, his armored suit failing to lift the hammer. Bruce tried too, roaring as though pretending to charge into the Hulk and everyone looked at him with funny looks. Lastly, it was Steve's turn, which made Thor's eyes slightly widen as the hammer managed to budge for a moment. Thor laughed with relief.

"Widow? Miss Heroine?" Tony hinted at the women, his eyebrows wiggling.

Natasha and Jamie shared a look, a smirk plastered onto their faces. "Oh, no, no. That's not a question we need answered." the redhead said, taking a sip of her beer.

"What about the students? Paddington, you alive?" Tony asked, slapping the younger man on the leg causing him to jump, waking up from his slumber with a tired groan.

"Nah, man. You heard the god of thunder. We're not worthy of the hammer." he croaked out, wiping his face with his hand making Thor puff out his chest with pride.

"He's right." Thor interjected, getting up as he lifted his hammer and flipped it. "You're all not worthy." A chorus of disagreement from the others made the god grin as everyone yelled out their complaints.

Jamie chuckled, sharing a look with Maria before turning her attention on Robin, who was still by her side, sharing another laugh with the others. She could tell she was tired, noticing her eyes fighting the urge to stay awake. "You want me to drive you guys home?" she said in a small voice, rubbing her shoulder.

Just as the younger woman was about to answer, a loud screeching noise erupted from the compound. Everyone covered their ears and let their hands down as it faded. Tony pulled out of his device, but stopped once he saw one of his suits, heavily damaged as it limped towards the group.

Jamie slowly stood up from her seat, stepping in front of Robin and Steve. She felt their trembling hands touching her bicep, a look of fear etched onto their faces as they watched the robotic figure stumbling forwards.

"How could you be worthy? You're all killers." Ultron's robotic voice echoing through the room, gesturing with his hand.

Steve quickly glanced at Jamie for a moment, before he stepped in front of his team. "Stark." his firm voice gesturing to Tony, who watched the robot with a slight fear in his eyes.

"Jarvis," Tony called out, his heart hammering inside his chest.

"I'm sorry, I was asleep." Ultron said, limping to the side, carelessly looking around. "Or it was a dream." he continued to talk while Tony mumbled something about bug fixes, reaching up for his small screen. Jamie toned their voices and focused on Ultron, her narrowed eyes studying the tangled robot with a stoic expression.

"You killed someone?" Steve's strict tone interrupted her thoughts and frowned, her eyes hardening. Ultron continued to talk, Thor also asking him how he even got here in the first place, which got suspicious looks to Tony after hearing a voice audio of him.

"Ultron." Bruce pointed out, his eyes wide with disbelief before looking over to Tony.

"In the flesh, or no. Not yet. Not this chrysalis, but I'm ready." he answered smugly.

Jamie slowly bent down, picking up her sword under the couch before fixing her posture, her grip on the cold metal buzzing with energy. "I'm on mission." Ultron told the Avengers.

     Natasha frowned, "What mission?"

The Heroine felt her hair rise from her neck, along with a thumping heart pounding loudly against her chest. Deep, dark gnarly veins writhed underneath her eyes as her scleras turned black. She turned her head to the side, having a protective stance in front of her students. "Hide," she told the two, who gripped on each other's hands, finding themselves hiding behind a corner.

"Peace in our time." Ultron declared before a burst of flying robots came through the glass and dashing towards them, the glass hitting Jamie's skin causing her to act on her senses and attack, but before her brain could register of the sound of breaking glass, she was thrown through the air, one of Tony's suits holding her body and throwing her against the glass wall, causing a massive burst of glass hitting the floor. She fell down with a thud, a groan escaping her lips before she quickly stood up.

Jamie cursed, realizing that her sword was not with her. "Shit." she mumbled under her breath, slightly limping towards the upper compound where they were fighting them.

Grabbing all the things the team could use to kill them, they all got ready in position. Jamie strode down the floor, her body gliding down the downwards floor. Her skin was covered in glass, but she ignored the prickling pain.

Hearing all the grunts and protests from her friends made her blood boil, the black veins slowly turning into her skin, the blackness in her eyes showing. She saw one of Tony's suits rushing towards her at a high speed from the air and Jamie took the chance and jumped from the first floor, her body landing on the suit. Holding them down by the neck made it easier for the ex-soldier to rip out the tangled wire attached to the main source. She ripped it off, making her fall down the floor with a yelp, her body colliding with Tony. The pair muttered quicks sorry's before quickly standing up from their feet.

One of the main suits carefully strode towards Helen Cho, who was crouching down behind the piano with fear in her eyes. Jamie noticed and was about to attack when Steve called her name and threw her sword, making her grip on the metal before dashing towards it, slicing its head off.

After the last remaining suit got killed by Steve's shield, the room went quiet. The only sound that came was from their heavy breathing, their mind trying to process what just happened. Jamie lowered her sword, the blade delicately hanging from her slender hands.

The Heroine's eyes frantically darted across the room. Once her eyes finally landed on the two students unharmed, she sighed in relief. The pair slowly revealed themselves, looking at the damage with wide eyes.

"That was dramatic," Ultron said with a slight surprise in his voice.

Tony grunted as he sat down the stairs, his eyes staring at the robot with an uneasy look.

"You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to evolve?" he said, sauntering around the Avengers as he picked up one of the damaged suits and destroyed them before throwing it on the floor.

"The only path to peace..." he trailed off. "The Avengers extinction." he finished but didn't notice Thor's hammer flying towards him, killing him instantly, his body thrown to the wall.

Jamie let out a shaky exhale, everyone, watching the damaged suit with such dread. She clenched her jaw and limped away from the scene towards the two, her worried face creasing through. "Hey, are you guys okay?" she softly asked, looking at the two with concern.

Robin's breath hitched, her wide eyes still processing what just happened. She had her hands tightly grasped with Steve, who gently rubbed her hand with a worried look. She turned her head to Jamie, a grimace forming her face. "I, uh, I don't know—" she stuttered out, feeling tears well inside her eyes.

Jamie's heart dropped. She didn't hesitate to put her arms around the younger girl. She let her cry into her chest, clutching her dress with her fist. She rubbed her back comfortably, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. Her attention turned to Steve, who watched his best friend with a sad look.

She used her other hand to bring a hand to his arm, earning his attention. "You alright, Paddington?" she asked, her forehead wrinkled.

Steve licked his lips, his shaky hands running a hand through his brown locks. "I'm okay. I'm more worried about Robin." he fretted, his eyes getting teary at the sight of his best friend.

Jamie caressed her hair, patting her back. "Do you need a ride?" she asked him, which he answered with a shake of his head, telling her that he drove them here.

"Call me if you need anything, okay? I'm sorry you both had to witness that." she softly said, her frown deepening once she saw Robin's tear-stained face.

The duo nodded, wanting to get out of here. Robin hugged her one last time before Steve took her into his arms, guiding her out of the compound. "Thanks, Jamie." they thanked as they said their goodbyes.

"What a fucking day," Jamie mumbled, fixing her dress before making her way towards the others, who were still gathered, a look of shock etched onto their faces.
