Over the years the bond between the four Hufflepuffs had only grown stronger. From that fateful day in first year, Aiden had become the perfect addition to the group, becoming a younger brother to Elijah and Kiara, who were both protective of him.

The four were a perfect group. Aiden was the one for rules, not loud and tried his best to not let his friends end up in deep trouble. Although he sometimes just could not speak up against his friends since he was shy, he knew that he wouldn't trade them for the world.

Evelyn was the drama Queen. Loud and full of gossip with a flair for the over dramatics but a supportive friend nonetheless. She loved her friends to bits and with Kiara, the two got to be just girls at times, being able to talk about topics they most likely would not with the boys.

Elijah was the cocky, flirty bastard, one with those killer looks that made all the girls swoon. Although he put out a cocky, cool attitude, he was protective of Aiden as he saw him as a younger brother. However it was Kiara who he really grew attached to, that makes him almost overprotective of the girl, as he considers her a sister in everything but blood.

Finally, that left Kiara. Confident, outgoing, flirtatious, loving. Kiara loved her friends very much and would do anything to protect them, and was very protective of Aiden just like she was of her younger sister Nora. The Hufflepuff adored Aiden and treated him like her younger sibling but a best friend nonetheless. She appreciated her female best friend for giving advice in the places where she sometimes most needed it. Kiara loved Elijah's support and how she could sometimes go to him in dire situations, to whom she could pour her heart out.

Most people that knew of this quartet knew they were kind, good-looking, fun, loud people, and a group not to be messed with. If someone messed with one of their friends, the others would make that person pay.

The four friends were looking forward to their fourth year ending and the summer break commencing, in order to get some time to relax and be freed of the school work that was burdening them currently. Kiara was walking back from the library to her common room. She walked along with a small smile on her lips, a comfort provided by the silence in the corridor.

However she sensed a disturbance, as footsteps grew louder. A hand latched onto her arm, turning her around.

"Hiya beautiful."

Kiara looked into icy grey orbs that sparkled, his black hair falling into his eyes. A flirtatious smile sat on his soft lips. Kiara felt herself warm up from the inside.

She knew who this was. Of course she would, everyone knew the famous Marauders.

In front of her stood none other than Sirius Black, the one everyone desired.

Kiara cocked her head to the side, for the first time in her life, at a loss for words.

"Hey, darling, would you mind doing me a favour?" Kiara was staring at him, however the former did not seem to be awaiting a reply as he said. "Good."

Kiara simply gazed at him in silence. Sirius suddenly slid his hands onto Kiara's waist and backed her swiftly into the wall. She gasped at the sudden movement, her body tensing up.

"What are you doing?!" She hissed at him.

"Like I said darling, I need a favour. There's a girl currently chasing me so to get her off my back, just go along with it."

Kiara's heart was beginning to beat faster and her cheeks tinged pink.

"And did you ask for my permission?" She demanded.

"My, my, you are a feisty one. Relax, love, I won't do anything, you just-"

However Sirius immediately quieted as he heard footsteps and a girl rounded the corner. Sirius leaned forth, leaving only inches between himself and Kiara.

They heard a gasp before the girl burst into tears and ran away. Right at that moment, Sirius stepped back, running a hand through his hair.

"Thanks love, I owe you one." He said with a smirk, winking at her before turning on his heels and strutting away. Kiara was left frozen in her spot, as her eyes trailed after the grey eyed boy, her mind and heart having fallen into a whirlwind.

As Sirius left her in that spot that day, he had taken a piece of Kiara's heart with him.

Kiara watched Sirius as he threw his head back and chuckled. She sighed. Oh he looked so perfect.

Exams were over and few days remained until students were due to return home for the summer. Something had shifted within Kiara since the day she first encountered Sirius and weeks had passed. Now, as she sat having dinner in the Great Hall, her eyes only found themselves upon the Black Heir, not being able to resist his charm.

"Kiara!"

Evelyn snapped her fingers in front of Kiara, making the girl jerk and blink, whirling around. Evelyn studied her with a suspicious look.

"Ki, were you staring at Black?" She breathed out teasingly.

Kiara's eyes widened, "What?! No! No! I wasn't." She replied, although her cheeks happened to unfortunately tinge red, making Evelyn bounce in excitement.

"Oh my gosh, you were!" Evelyn wiggled her eyebrows, "Since when did you start to fancy, Black?"

Kiara shook her head, placing a hand on her best friend's mouth. Luckily, their two male best friends were not present but instead back in the Badgers' domain.

"Shhhh! Are you going to yell it out to everyone?!"

Evelyn narrowed her eyes and licked Kiara's hand, making Kiara retreat it back in disgust.

"Ev! That's gross!" She exclaimed, wiping her hand on Evelyn's robes, who pulled them away from Kiara's reach.

"You asked for it, sweetie."

Kiara glared at her best friend before her gaze shifted to the Gryffindor table once again, and her face washed into a solemn expression. She sighed sadly.

Evelyn, noticing the change, gently placed a hand on Kiara's shoulder.

"Kiara, what's wrong?"

Kiara shut her eyes before opening them, shaking her head slightly.

"Oh I can't believe this, Evelyn. I've come to fancy someone who switches from person to person like lightning." Kiara groaned, burying her face in her hands. "It's hopeless, I'm hopeless. Oh, I'm chasing after a fantasy that is bound to never come true."

Evelyn watched her best friend with sympathy.

"Kiara, I'm sorry. I'm not going to give you words of encouragement because I know they'll be wrong. Sirius Black doesn't do relationships. It's best for you to forget about him. Plus, most likely it might just be a silly crush that may fade away soon enough." Evelyn explained, patting Kiara on the shoulder encouragingly.

Kiara nodded, releasing a breath, her eyes still trained upon a certain marauder.

"Yeah. Perhaps you're right."

Evelyn couldn't have been farther from the truth. The small feelings for Sirius Black that had bloomed in Kiara's heart, only grew more as summer passed and they were back at Hogwarts and well into the year. It was now almost Christmas break and Kiara only felt herself growing more attracted to Hogwarts' heartthrob.

She wasn't like the rest of the girls who all were ready to seize any chance to be with the Black Heir. No, Kiara Sharma instead admired the dashing hunk from afar, watching him and feeling herself only fall deeper into a hole of longing and sadness. She watched as Sirius switched from person to person, how he touched them, kissed them.

Kiara knew it was a bad idea to develop feelings for a player, but how could one control their own feelings and heart? So, she allowed herself to go down that path, admiring Sirius Black and building up her fantasies even more, whilst knowing she would never get him.

"Ki," Evelyn said one evening in their dormitory, "How much are you going to hurt yourself?" She asked, watching Kiara from her bed.

The girl, who was doing her homework on her bed, froze.

"Ev, I don't know... I-I can't help it. That's why I've never approached him because I know it will only hurt me."

"But you're hurting yourself watching him all the time with other people!" Evelyn retorted, trying to make her friend see reason.

"I know that but I can't suddenly stop feeling anything for him- Plus, I see how you look at Aiden."

The blonde haired went red, and began stuttering, "I-I- W-What? I-I don't, ha, what makes you say that?" Evelyn finally dared to look at Kiara, cringing.

Kiara was leaning back against the headboard of her bed, smirking triumphantly, "Exactly. You just proved my point with all that." She said, gesturing with her hand at her best friend.

"So how about this, darling? You stay out of my business, and I stay out of yours. Do we have a deal, sweetheart?" Kiara smirked at Evelyn, who groaned.

"Fine!" Evelyn sighed, "I just want you to be safe." She added gently afterwards.

Kiara's face washed into a warm and soft expression. "Don't worry, Ev, I will."

So it continued. Kiara gazed at Sirius from afar, whether that was in classes, on the Quidditch pitch, or in the Great Hall. Kiara resorted to staying away and watching, never deciding to take the chance to go close, knowing she'd only get her heart broken.

The months passed by and fifth year neared to an end. O.W.L.'s were officially over and the students were headed home. As Kiara and her friends were bidding each other farewell at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters, Kiara's gaze landed on Sirius who had just gotten off the train, followed by his friends. As she watched him smile and laugh with his friends, Kiara finally snapped.

She was not going to keep drooling over the boy. She would tell him. Kiara would tell Sirius how she feels and if she were to be rejected, she would perhaps finally receive closure and move on. After all, Kiara deserved to be treated like a queen, and showered with love beyond her imagination, she wasn't going to keep moping over a person who didn't even know she existed.

A few more chapters I believe and then we will be caught up to where the present story was at the end of Act 1, hopefully the in between parts are still interesting to read. :)
