Anthony and Maggie were sitting next to each other on the porch steps.

Anthony had followed her after the whole "well situation" seeing the pure disgust on her face as if she was going to be sick.

He just wanted to make sure she was okay.

After his conversation with Maia, about her wondering if he liked Maggie, he wanted to test the waters.

He had been fairly bold to say the least, it was just like Anthony to do something like this when it came to girls.

He was a hopeless romantic when he wasn't just fooling around.

He never once had a toxic relationship, except for Vicki...

We don't speak about her.

He always treated women with respect, no matter who they were.

So as he was sitting next to Maggie on her porch steps, she found comfort in his presence.

"So where are you originally from? You don't seem to be from here?" Maggie glanced over at Anthony, placing her cowboy style hat in her lap.

"Oh, uh, San Francisco." Anthony gave her a small smile with a slight shrug.

"Really? I've never been there before, I've always wanted to visit San Francisco or even Dallas." Maggie smiled softly when she confessed, looking at the others who sat around the camp set up.

Anthony smiled at how she sounded, it was a dream she wanted to come true, it just never would.

"What was it like in San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge?" Maggie asked softly, turning to Anthony, he seemed to be admiring her.

"I crossed that bridge everyday, my sister and I used to walk on the sides at night to see the stars, it was beautiful." Anthony painted a picture for Maggie, seeing her smile made his heart flutter.

"I could imagine, I wonder if it's still standing? What do you think?" Maggie faced Anthony with a small smile, she sounded so genuine and curious.

"I don't know, last i heard they were bombing, but it would be a miracle if it was still standing, I remember my mom used to take me and Maia to the bridge whenever the bridge was closed for maintenance because she was a project manager, she quit though because of her chemotherapy, it took most of our money." Anthony stared into space as he explained, Maggie had her eyes fixed on him, how a slight wave of sadness and pride washed over him as he spoke about his mother.

"I'm guessing she didn't make it, did she?" Maggie asked softly with a look of sympathy.

"No, she didn't, she died a few months into chemo, I was 14 and Luna had just been born when she found out about it." Anthony looked at the ground and Maggie put a hand on his back to comfort him.

He looked up and looked her in the eyes when she placed a hand on his back.

"What was her name?" Maggie asked softly, she wanted to connect with him.

"Ruth De La Fountaine, French name." Anthony had a weak smile displayed on his face, his pronunciation of the last name came out with a slight French accent.

Maggie smiled a bit wider.

"Do you speak french?" Maggie asked with her eyebrows knitted in curiosity, hearing the slight accent in the pronunciation.

"Oh, uh, yeah, my mom taught me and Maia growing up, she made sure to make us learn it fluently." Anthony chuckled slightly at the memory.

Maggie smiled, glancing over his features.

"Do you remember anything she taught?" Maggie asked softly.

"I wish I could speak it more often if I'm being honest, Maia and I speak it once in a blue moon so, I guess there are a few phrases I can think of off the top of my head." Anthony shrugged and Maggie nodded.

"Can I hear?" Maggie kept her hand on his back.

"Oh uh, now?" Anthony was caught off guard and hid a small blush.

"Yes, I wanna hear." Maggie smiled at his slight blush, it was quite obvious.

"Oh, uh, Je t'aime bien." Anthony says hesitantly as Maggie tilts her head in curiosity.

"What does that mean?" Maggie had her eyebrows knitted together.

"It means I like you." Anthony gave her a small smile and Maggie looked down at her feet with a smile.

"Really?" Maggie asked with a hint of blush on her face.

"I mean, I wanna get to know you but, you're really pretty and very nice." Anthony rambled a bit and gave Maggie a small smile.

Maggie smiled and took her hand off of his back and placed it in her lap again.

"Are you really sure? I mean we've known each other for what? Three days? maybe less?" Maggie seemed a bit unsure but still had the blush on her face.

"It doesn't mean I can't get to know you, I mean you're really nice." Anthony had a cheeky smile on his face.

"I know, it's a bit forward but I do genuinely wanna get to know you, i mean you're attractive, you're sweet, you're helpful." Anthony listed a few things and Maggie chuckled softly.

"Look you're sweet, but can we just get to know each other first?" Maggie asked softly and Anthony nodded.

"Oh yeah totally, uhm, yeah." Anthony nodded again as he stammered.

"It's just I...I can't just like someone without getting to know them, you know?" Maggie sighed, she did like Anthony but she wanted to know what she was getting into.

She saw the way Anthony looked at Andrea, out of all people.

She wanted to see if he was lying.

———————

Later on that day, Maia and Glenn had a very, very, awkward conversation.

She lied to his face and then when he said "it meant nothing.", her heart ached.

She had no idea why, nothing made sense, she didn't know why she was jealous, why she was confused and why she was upset.

She had zero reason to be.

Maybe it did mean nothing, maybe she just had to let that go, it was nothing.

"It meant nothing."

How?

She had no clue, the one thing she never understood is why she liked it?

She let her mind drone on and on about the same scenario that just happened to be the reality in her situation.

All the thoughts flowing through her head before one stopped her.

"She saw Izraella and Rosalyn in the corner of her eye."

After that conversation she knew Izraella had questions and a lot of them.

And to Maia's much dismay she had been alone with her thoughts for a while before Izraella joined her underneath a tree, the sun slowly setting.

Maia knew exactly why Izraella was there and she sighed, leaning on Izraella's shoulder.

The two had been close for years now, every confrontation had a reason and Maia knew just by the fact that Izraella had seen both her and Glenn together, let alone up close, she would have questions.

Izraella sighed.

"I'm just gonna get to the point." Izraella sat up straight and Maia sighed, removing her head from her best friend's shoulder.

"What the hell was that with Glenn?" Izraella turned to face Maia who just stared ahead.

"I just asked him to read a small piece of Little women, because I can't see." Maia was telling the truth.

"There's more isn't there? Are you in love with him or something?" Izraella tilted her head at Maia.

"No, of course not." Maia replied with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Then why are you two awkward?" Izraella shrugged, hoping to catch Maia out.

"We're not awkward." Maia replied and Izraella widened her eyes and tilted her head giving Maia a look.

"Fine, we are awkward." Maia replied with a sigh.

"But the question is why?" Izraella smiled in a slight sense of victory.

"I don't know, we just are." Maia shrugged not knowing if she should tell Izraella the truth.

"Mai, come on." Izraella gave Maia a look and Maia sighed.

"I'm serious, I don't know." Maia replied softly, her expression said otherwise.

The brunette and her dark haired friend sat in a small silence, the silence wasn't uncomfortable just as if Izraella was waiting for an answer.

"Where's your sweater?" Izraella asked Maia who glanced at her confused.

"In the RV, why?" Maia furrowed her eyebrows, trying to see where this conversation was going.

"I haven't seen it before, where'd you get it?" Izraella questioned, raising her eyebrows.

"I don't know, it was a gift." Maia replied with a sigh, she wasn't lying but it wasn't necessarily the entire truth.

"From who?" Izraella caught her out, oh how Maia walked into that.

Maia shrugs with a sigh.

"Glenn?" Izraella asks before she falls silent.

Maia leaned back onto the bark of the tree.

"He gave it to me because my shirt was wet." Maia replied below a whisper, almost ashamed in a sense.

"Your shirt can dry." Izraella gave Maia a look that said everything.

Maia looked down at her feet and started picking at the grass.

"Mai, I love you, but you're a dumbass, a big dumbass, the queen of dumbasses." Izraella exaggerated.

"Okay, okay no need to exaggerate, I get it." Maia nudged Izraella.

"Do you like him? At all? Even just the tiniest bit?" Izraella got straight to the point.

Maia sighed, she knew this was the question she had been dreading. She knew that it would come up at some point, was there any point of lying anymore? Did she even like him?

I mean surely she had to like him because of the kiss but—

No, she doesn't, she wasn't going to let herself go down that train of thought.

Did she like him?

No, there was no way?

"No, no, I can't like him." Maia replied, shaking her head.

"You can, and you do, I've never seen you like a guy, so if this is what it looks like, it's upsetting." Izraella rambled, attempting to explain to Maia.

"Maia, I haven't seen you like a guy ever, I know you didn't like Demarco," Maia tensed at his name, Izraella noticed.

"It's just, you don't care about people other than your friends and your family, tell me what is so special about Glenn." Izraella turned to face Maia.

"He's my friend, it's nothing special." Maia denied and denied.

Izraella sighed heavily.

"Maia, for god sake you're so blind, he obviously likes you." Izraella sighed trying to explain to her best friend that a guy actually likes her.

"He doesn't, I'm pretty sure he likes Maggie and I'm sure he won't do anything because he knows Anthony is going for her." Maia tried to reason and Izraella sighed.

"What happened back at the CDC, something had to have happened, did you fuck? what did you do?" Izraella wanted to get to the bottom of this situation.

"What! No!" Maia was taken aback by Izraella's assumption.

"What? it's the only plausible reason, at least that I can think of, because you two are so goddamn awkward." Izraella explained herself and Maia looked at her best friend in disbelief.

"No! No!" Maia exclaimed and put her head in her hands and hit her nose in the process, causing her to let out a slight groan.

"Then what happened?" Izraella took Maia's hands off of her face, looking her in the eyes.

Maia fell silent, trying to avoid eye contact at all costs.

"Fine, be that way I'll figure it out."

The sun had already set by the time Izraella got up from Maia's side and towards the camp they set up outside the farmhouse.

Maia fixed the small bandage on her nose before sighing and leaning back on the tree and looking at the moon.

She didn't know how to react, what to think.

Did she like him?

That was a tomorrow problem.

——————

The next morning, Maia rolled out of the tent with tired eyes and a soft yawn.

Anthony was already awake and was talking to Glenn who was playing guitar on the porch.

Luna, Jose, Rosalyn, Lara and Izraella were reading books for school work.

Maia opened the tent and stepped out of it seeing Giselle, Lori and Carol hanging up laundry.

As all of them bid the girl a "goodmorning" she returned the same.

Without any other question Maia walked past T-Dog and Andrea.

"Look who's up and thriving, it's buttercup." T-Dog piped up with a smirk and Maia rolled her eyes.

"Really? Buttercup?" Maia tilted her head with an unimpressed look.

"Yes, as in the green powerpuff girl." T-Dog chuckled and Andrea snickered softly.

Maia laid her hand on hip and tilted her head.

"Seriously?"

"What? it fits you, how's the nose?" T-Dog chuckled and Maia rolled her eyes.

"Then you're bubbles and my nose is alright, still hurts." Maia laughed softly when T-Dog looked slightly offended.

"I am not bubbles, that blue thing?" T-Dog sounded like he was in disbelief.

"What the hell is your beef with bubbles? What did she do to you?" Maia asked, trying to hold in a laugh.

"She's boring, and whiny." T-Dog replied.

"Well, then it's a perfect fit." Maia smirked and T-Dog blinked at Maia unimpressed causing her to laugh, she had one of the most infectious laughs ever.

T-Dog couldn't help but laugh as well.

"You're bubbles from now on." Maia winked at T-Dog.

"I did not agree to that!" He exclaimed.

"Yes you did, bubbles." Maia taunted him and walked off towards Izraella and the kids.

"Then who's blossom?!" T-Dog raised his voice with a smile.

"Anthony!" Maia laughed and earned a loud "huh?" from the porch.

"Hey there young ones and Izzy." Maia smirked softly and they all bid her a hello.

"Why are you so happy this morning?" Izraella asked her friend.

"I don't know, just am, now what bullshit are we reading today?" Maia crouched down to their level before the kids laughed at her cuss.

"Don't." She spoke sternly and the kids giggled quietly.

"We are reading some weird story about a crocodile and a lion." Luna stated and Lara shrugged.

"That would be extremely unlikely, Lions and crocodiles like, hate each other." Lara tilted her head trying to make sense of the situation.

Maia and Izraella chuckle softly.

"You're so right, they're like mortal enemies." Izraella replied and Maia nodded.

"Worser enemies than the Ninja turtles and The Rat King." Maia smiled softly and Lara nodded.

"See you guys get it, Glenn needs to set his mind straight." Lara sighed dramatically and the two girls laughed.

"Like sure, he's my brother and I love him but he can be a real butthead." Lara sighed dramatically and the kids giggled amongst themselves.

After a few minutes of small meaningless conversation with the kids, Rick had walked out of the farmhouse with Shane by his side.

"Morning guys." Rick sent the kids and the two women a gentle morning as he walked off to the others to discuss the plans for the search for Sophia.

"Morning." They all greeted Rick in unison.

Rick walked passed with Shane by his side and then they both went towards the rest of the group.

After a few more minutes of reading and small giggles erupting from the kids, Maggie had emerged from the front door causing her and Anthony to then go on a small walk.

Both Izraella and Maia gave Anthony a look and mischievous smirks, causing him to wave them off.

Maggie sent the small group a wave before she walked with Anthony to a small area beside the farmhouse.

The kids and the two older girls give each other a look before they all burst out giggling.

———————

"Maia, I'm hungry." Luna pulled on Maia's shirt.

"I know, I know, please just wait." Maia was trying to stay patient with her little sister as she was fiddling with the bandage on her nose to make it more secure.

"But I'm hungry now." Luna whined and Maia sighed.

"Luna, please, just wait." Maia sighed and packed the bag in their tent.

"But Mai-." Luna whined before she was quickly cut off by Maia.

"Luna for fuck sake, please wait." Maia snapped and Luna went silent and bit her bottom lip.

"I'm sorry, Mai..." Luna looked at the ground and Maia sighed and turned around to look at Luna putting a hand on her cheek.

"Lu, it's okay, I didn't mean to snap at you, I'm sorry." Maia kissed Luna's forehead and internally sighing.

Luna relied a lot on Maia for everything, it was overwhelming for Maia, but she would never admit it.

Both of her siblings relied on her but she felt as if they needed to.

She wanted to show Luna the love that she deserved, Maia would take care of Anthony and be on his side always, nothing would change that it's just sometimes she would lose her temper and she would snap like this.

Maia was already overwhelmed with all the thoughts in her head, the questions, she needed to push that aside for Luna.

"Mai! Do you have my comb?" The sound of Anthony's voice echoed across the farm.

Maia sighed and inhaled.

"Yeah, just give me a second!" Maia took her hand off of Luna's cheek and rummaged through the backpack trying to find the comb.

The tent was open so everyone could see inside, Maia was clearly trying to keep her cool, Giselle saw how much Maia cared for her siblings and she remembered all the things Maia would tell her about him.

The Koa family had been slightly dysfunctional, an alcoholic father who hit them, Giselle remembered Maia was the only one who had bruises and cuts on her.

Not Anthony.

Maia rummaged some more and Luna looked around the tent and found a blue comb on the ground.

"Here it is." Luna handed it to Maia with an innocent look on her face, none that anyone could resist.

Maia sighed in relief and gave her sister a small smile before taking the comb out of her hand and walking towards Anthony who was attempting to tie his shoe.

"Here." Maia held out the comb to Anthony who looked up and smiled.

"Thanks." He took the comb and laid it in the ground next to him as he tried to tie his shoe.

He was never good at it, but he always tried.

Maia watched him with her eyebrows raised.

"You're just gonna stare at me?" Anthony questioned with a sigh.

"You're a grown ass man, you should be able to tie your shoe." Maia replied, placing a hand on her hip.

Anthony just shook his head with a deep sigh as he continued trying to tie it whilst Maia observed.

Every time he tried and failed.

Maia was getting impatient, this is how it always ended up, if she didn't give in, she'd leave him to do it himself whether or not he fell afterwards.

"Jesus, you need to learn how to tie your shoe." Maia kneeled down and quickly tied her twin brother's shoe with a look of annoyance.

"I can do it myself." Anthony replied with a slightly ashamed look as his sister tied his shoe for him.

"Clearly not, I'm going through this whole rabbit hole bullshit again." Maia replied with a sigh and Anthony rolled his eyes as she finished tying the shoelaces.

"Thanks, I guess." Anthony grumbled.

"Don't even." Maia replied with an annoyed look and she sighed before she walked off back to the tent to see Lara, Rosalyn and Luna inside talking.

"Hey Maia!" Lara piped up with a smile causing Maia to send her a smile back.

"Hey Lara, Hey Rose." Maia winked at Rosalyn and sat down on the air mattress.

"What are you guys gossiping about?" Maia sat with them and Luna quickly took her cow teddy bear "Moo Moo" and showed it to Maia.

"Moo Moo says that we're all gonna be safe, and I think we should listen to her." Luna smiled and saw the tired look on Maia's face.

Maia smiled and nodded.

"I agree." Maia smiled and Rosalyn laughed softly.

"Rosie Posie, how are you doing hm? Any crush?" Maia tilted her head and wiggled her eyebrows causing Rosalyn to blush slightly.

"She totally likes Carl." Lara piped up with a laugh.

"Definitely!" Luna laughed along and Rosalyn tried to hide a smile by having a frown on her face.

"I don't like him!" Rosalyn exclaimed and the other two girls laughed.

"And there aren't zombies." Lara replied with a smile and gave Luna a fist bump causing Maia to laugh.

"I swear, I don't like him!" Rosalyn folded her arms across her chest.

"Maia, tell them I don't like him!" Rosalyn exclaimed and Maia put her hands up in surrender.

"Hey, I'm not on anyone's side here." Maia smirked at Rosalyn, giving her a small wink.

"Did you guys leave Jose out again?" Maia tilted her head.

"He's not a girl!" Luna piped up.

"So? He's gonna need girl advice someday, best he surrounds himself with some friends, don't be weirdos just because boys have cooties. That doesn't mean you guys can't hang out together." Maia smirks and the girls groan dramatically causing her to laugh.

"Fine!" They all exclaimed and Maia smiled.

"There we go, come on, go play." Maia ushered the girls out of the tent and they all left to go to Jose.

She sighed as the girls left and tried putting her head in her palm before inevitably pressing on her broken nose causing her to grunt quietly.

"Aia." The nickname that only one person used for Maia.

Giselle.

"Mmm?" Maia hummed in response, looking up to see Giselle peek her head through the tent.

"You alright?" Giselle asked, taking a seat next to Maia on the air mattress.

"Yeah, why?" Maia was curious where this was going, Giselle was always observant, maybe it was because she was a nurse before everything.

"You seem a bit out of it today? I saw you and Izzy talking yesterday, what was that about?" Giselle inquired, she was a curious woman, it was one of her many quirks.

"We were just talking, it was nothing special." Maia gave Giselle a small smile.

"You look tired, did you sleep at all?" Giselle tilted her head and examined Maia's face.

"I had some trouble sleeping last night, no big deal." Maia replied, shaking her head and Giselle sighed.

"Aia, I've known you since you were 15, you're not hard to read. What's on your mind?" Giselle put a hand on Maia's shoulder.

Maia sighed.

"It's nothing really." Maia replied and Giselle then moved her hand to Maia's knee.

"It's not nothing if it's bothering you." Giselle sighed.

"I don't know, it's not relevant." Maia brushed Giselle off, it was always difficult to get Maia to open up, whether anyone liked it or not.

"Maia." Giselle spoke with a motherly tone and Maia sighed.

"It's stupid, I was just thinking about what Izzy said last night." Maia sighed and saw Glenn walk past the tent with his guitar that Dale found for him on the highway.

She had her gaze locked on him as he walked past and Giselle smiled.

"I knew it." Giselle smirked.

"What?" Maia turned to Giselle with a confused look.

"You like him." Giselle smiled.

Maia stayed silent and thought for a second, she bit down in her bottom lip.

"Don't bite your lip." Giselle spoke softly and Maia immediately stopped.

"Do you? like him, I mean?" Giselle asked in a soft manner seeing how overwhelmed Maia was getting, from the little snap at Luna earlier to her small anxious habits.

"If I'm being honest, I don't know." Maia sighed and closed her eyes for a few seconds.

Giselle examined Maia's expression, she looked so confused.

"It's okay to not know, but personally I think you like him and you just don't want to admit it." Giselle gave Maia a small nudge on the arm.

"I don't know." Maia sighed heavily and saw Glenn walk past again, giving the two a tight lipped smile as he walked past.

Giselle gave him a small smile back and wiggled her eyebrows at Maia who then rolled her eyes.

Giselle chuckled softly before patting her knee and standing up.

"Lori is gonna ask if we can cook for Hershel and his family, do you want to help?" Giselle asked Maia who nodded.

"Sure." Maia smiled.

"Get your feelings straight, Amor." Giselle winked and Maia groaned before Giselle walked away.

———————

It was now a few hours after the group went out to search for Sophia.

Rick and Shane finally returned after a few hours.

Maia was working with Izraella and Giselle on some laundry, both taking the laundry down and folding it in a neat fashion for the others to collect.

Glenn had caught up with Lori and they started talking.

Maia saw how they spoke in hushed tones so no one else would hear, she was confused but it wasn't any of her business.

Maia kept glancing at Glenn's back every now and then hearing small giggles from next to her.

"No." Maia spoke sternly, not gazing at the two Ramìrez women who just giggled even more at Maia's response.

Maia finished folding some of the clothes and saw Luna, Lara, Rosalyn and Jose all sitting in a circle playing a game.

She smiled at the kids softly and Luna waved at her older sister.

The three women all finished up with the laundry before dispersing themselves around the small camp each doing their own individual thing.

Maia walked towards her tent where she rummaged through her bag for a hairbrush and she quickly brushed her hair before heading back out.

She saw Anthony and Glenn talking in the distance, seeing Anthony rummage through a backpack that was in Glenn's hand and placing something into his back pocket.

This raised suspicion in Maia's head and she watched them confusedly.

She watched how Anthony quickly rushed away towards Maggie who led him towards the back of the farmhouse.

Maia's eyebrows were raised and she sighed, shaking her head as Glenn walked towards the camp again and as he walked past Maia who was leaned up against a tree, he bumped into her and dropped his bag.

A box of condoms rolled out.

"Oh- uh sorry I-." Glenn rambled and saw Maia who stared at the ground before picking up the box of condoms that landed at her feet.

He put out his hand to take the box back, thinking she would hand it to him however she examined the box.

"Condoms? XL?" Maia tilted her head and raised her eyebrows.

Glenn looked embarrassed, a small blush spread across his face, the kids were eavesdropping in the conversation.

"Oh- I uh-." Glenn stumbled over his own words, having no clue what to say.

"Who do you plan on having sex with tonight, Glenn? With your XL?" Maia asked slowly, almost taunting him as she read the box.

"Uh, I, No one actually uhm, not that I wouldn't have sex I-." Glenn sounded slightly panicked and Maia chuckled.

"I'm kidding, that's none of my business, take your condoms, and I'm assuming the missing one now belongs to Anthony?" Maia assumed and Glenn's eyes widened.

"Yeah." Glenn spoke just above a whisper and looked down at his feet, before grabbing the bag off the floor.

"An actual man whore." Maia shook her head and Glenn chuckled slightly.

"You could say that." Glenn laughed and Maia laughed along before she handed Glenn the box back.

"Enjoy your condoms." Maia laughed softly and Glenn's smile faltered almost immediately and turned into embarrassment.

Maia laughed at Glenn's blush, something about the way she looked at him made his heart pound.

The bandage on her nose lifted slightly because of her nose scrunching ever so slightly from laughing and she fixed it, trying not to hurt her nose.

Glenn just stood there and admired Maia as she did so, he couldn't stop thinking about her but an abrupt sentence brought Glenn out of his thoughts.

"Lara called you a butthead." Maia smirked slightly and Glenn laughed with a slightly confused look.

"I'm not a butthead." Glenn replied and Maia chuckled.

"Tell her that." Maia smiled before walking off and seeing Glenn go towards the kids and in the distance you could hear him speaking to Lara

"Why did you call me a butthead?" — "Because you are a butthead."

The kids' small giggles erupted from the group and Glenn ended up sitting with them.

———————

Izraella, Giselle, Lori, Maia and Carol all worked in the Greene kitchen, they had asked Patricia if they could work in the kitchen and make dinner as a thank you for allowing them to stay there.

The women all chuckled, making small jokes as they cooked in the kitchen.

In the next room you could hear the faint chatter between Maggie and Hershel.

Maia heard Anthony's name.

"What's going on with you and that golden retriever boy?" Hershel's voice was faint.

"Anthony, and he's just a friend." Maggie replied, their voices were hush after that, not something Maia could make out.

Maia wondered what had happened between Anthony and Maggie, did they-.

No, absolutely not.

She was not going to even think about it.

Her brother and the farmer's daughter?

Sex?

No, thank you.

She just continued working, glancing to that room every now and then, cutting up some potatoes.

Suddenly there was a loud gunshot.

"Was that?" Lori paused.

"Yeah." Izraella replied and everyone dropped what they were doing and rushed outside.

They all rushed through the front door out onto the porch, the kids all stood up and made their way to Izraella and Maia who rushed out first.

"What on earth is going on out here?!" Hershel yelled in demand.

Maia looked around and saw the others down at the bottom by the trees, Rick and Shane holding Daryl by his arms.

"Is that Daryl?" Maia turned to Izraella whose eyes widened.

"Yeah." Izraella sighed out and then they all waited on the news as the others got back up.

"What the hell happened?" Izraella asked, seeing Daryl covered in blood and dirt.

"Andrea shot him and a bullet grazed him." Rick grunted.

"You shot Daryl?" Maia asked in disbelief, seeing Andrea who was filled with guilt.

"Are you goddamn stupid?" Maia asked Andrea with annoyance.

"Lay off her." Anthony replied and Maia turned to him, her gaze filled with disbelief and annoyance.

"When did you get here?" Maia asked and gave Anthony a look.

Hershel then ushered Rick and Shane towards the house as they held Daryl up.

"Lay off her, my ass." Maia mumbled as Andrea walked past, she gave Andrea a dirty look before Maia earned a hit on the shoulder from Giselle.

"Let's just calm down, and finish making dinner." Giselle replied and everyone sighed.

———————

Dinner was ready and served as everyone sat around the two tables set out for them.

The kids sat at a small table that Patricia managed to set up for them where they all ate quietly.

Maia sat next to Izraella who sat next to Glenn at one of the small tables.

Maggie sat by Anthony, Jimmy and Beth.

The dinner was quiet, everyone cutting into their food quietly and passing around the serving bowls.

"Does anyone know how to play guitar?" Glenn piped up with a wide smile.

The table was silent.

"Dale found a cool one." Glenn smiled and glanced towards Dale.

Everyone was still silent, Izraella glanced at Maia who shook her head as if not to speak up.

"Come on, someone has to know how to play?" Glenn was trying to make small talk, it was sweet.

Maia glanced at Glenn and gave him a look, trying to tell him something.

"Maia? Do you know how to play?" Glenn made direct eye contact with her and she went slightly wide eyed.

"Uh, yeah, I do, it's just been a while since I've played..." She sent a tight lipped smile, feeling everyone's gaze reach her.

Her palms started to sweat and she wiped them on her pants.

"Otis did." Patricia spoke quietly, picking at her food.

"Yes, and he was very good too." Hershel sent Patricia a reassuring nod and comforting tone of voice trying to reassure her it would be okay.

The room fell silent again.

Anthony sat by Maggie where she reached into her pocket and took out a small note and then gave it to Anthony from under the table, discreetly.

He took the note, sending Maggie a look before opening the note as quietly as he could.

The clanking of utensils and plates crashing together as everyone ate their dinner.

The note read: Tonight Where?

Maggie gave Anthony a knowing look and he smirked to himself before he grabbed a pen out of his pocket and he tried writing as discreetly as possible.

Dale and Hershel had seen and had begun to become suspicious, Maia being Maia was nosy and tried to figure out what was going on.

It was only another ten minutes until everyone was finished with their dinner and all thanked the women who cooked for the night.

Anthony excused himself and handed Maggie the small note and he quickly walked out of the house towards Glenn's bag where he took out another condom from the box.

He also took a flashlight and then walked towards the barn as quickly as possibly.

After everyone back in the house had dispersed of themselves Maggie made sure no one was watching before she opened the note Anthony gave her.

The note read: Ever done it in a Hayloft?

Maggie's eyes quickly widened and she crumpled up the paper.

She made her way out of the house and ran towards the barn.

Anthony on the other hand was already at the barn and was looking for an opening so they could stay there.

After two minutes of searching he found a small opening at the top where he had climbed a ladder to reach and he was inside.

He shined the flashlight around the inside of the barn and the more he went deeper into the barn the smell got worse.

It was as if something died there.

Anthony tilted the flashlight downwards to be greeted with the growls and moans of walkers.

His eyes widened and his jaw dropped in shock before he quickly turned to go back out.

As he went to the small opening he saw Maggie who was breathing heavily.

"You weren't supposed to see this."
