"What am I most afraid of?" Mitch repeated the question. "Hmm. Let's see."

"Global Warming and getting a 'B'."

"The phone ringing in the middle of the night," Claire responded.

"That I'm too much of a perfectionist."

"Honey, this isn't a job interview."

"Oh, man. Job interviews," Phil said.

"Nothing," Jay shrugged.

"Yeah, right. What about the pigeons?" Gloria reminded him.

"Oh, I don't like them. They're shifty"

"Losing Mitchell," Cam said.

"Aw! Hotel bedspreads."

"Never getting my driver's license. Or getting one and the picture sucks."

"Being in the car when Haley's driving."

"Dying alone."

"OH, HALEY, sweetie, did you find your shoes?" Claire asked as Haley walked into the kitchen, Athena trailing behind, trying to peel an orange.

"Mom, please, not today," Haley said, stressed.

"I just wanted to know if you found your shoes."

"Ugh! This stupid orange!" Athena shouted, throwing the orange on the ground. She gasped when she realized she lashed out like that. "I'm sorry! I just have my drivers test tomorrow morning and I have never felt so stressed."

"Why are you hounding me? I'm freaking out right now."

"You need to relax, "Claire trailed off looking at Athena staring at the orange on the floor sadly. "Both of you. It's just a drivers test."

"It's my third drivers test, and if I fail again, I have to wait six months to retake it," Haley said. "That's six months of you driving me everywhere."

"I'm starting my first job. I need a license cause I am so not walking," Athena sighed.

"Haley. Found your jacket," Alex said, walking into the kitchen, jacket in hand.

"Why is everyone on me? God!" Haley groaned, walking out of the kitchen, dragging Athena by her wrist, but not before grabbing an apple and handing it to Thea.

"Are you nervous?" Alex asked Haley as they stood outside the DMV. Just being there, for emotional support or not, was extremely nerve wracking for her. She only became more intimidated and nervous of her test.

"Shut up, Alex."

"I was just asking. I'd be nervous if I were you." Athena lightly slapped Alex on the arm, telling her to shut the fuck up.

"Alex, leave your sister alone. She's gonna be fine," Claire said.

"As long as I don't get the same guy. He's so mean," Haley said.

"You probably will," Alex said, still trying to make Haley nervous.

"You won't," Athena told her, rubbing Haley's arm.

"He hates me."

"He doesn't hate you," Claire told her.

"He yelled at me."

"You drove into the bushes," Alex said. Athena nodded, agreeing with Alex for once in her life.

"Oh, no. It's him," Haley said when the driving examiner walked out of the building. "Please don't be for me. Please don't be for me. Please don't be for me." She let out a sigh when he walked past her. "Oh, thank god."

"Well, come on. I don't have all day," He said, standing close by, waiting for her.

"I'm gonna throw up," Haley declared.

"Okay, no. This is what you're gonna do. You're gonna get in that car, put on your seatbelt and take three deep breaths and relax. This guy sees hundreds of kids every day. He probably doesn't remember you at all," Claire said, giving her daughter a pep-talk.

"Yo. Let's move it, two strikes."

Haley looked back, worried before walking off, breathing heavier than Athena had ever seen her breathe.

Somehow, Haley was able to pass her drivers test. Athena had taken hers the next day and passed first try but not before crying in her bathroom minutes before leaving the house.

"I passed!" Athena shouted, running into Haley's room. Haley let out a squeal and wrapped Athena in a hug.

"We can drive now!"

"Where are we gonna go first?" Athena asked.

Haley thought for a minute before gasping, "The mall!"

"Then let's get our asses out of this room and into my mom's car!"

Minutes later the two sat in the car, Athena behind the wheel, both of them with giant smiles on their face.

"How do we get to the mall?" Athena asked. Haley's smile faded.

" I thought you knew," Haley said and Athena just shook her head.

"We'll figure it out on the way."

Thea put the car in drive and slowly drove down the street.

"Go faster."

"No, I'm good."
