The Quiet Girl

-Justine is known as the quiet kid in school and she gets bullied by a group of girls who find out she likes Charli, the popular girl, and they tell the whole school.

Justine walked out of her Biology class and into the crowded hallway. She put her head down and followed the flow of the crowd trying to get to the cafeteria for lunch as quickly as possible. Justine walked down the stairs and hurried to an empty table. She sat down and pulled her phone and earbuds out. Justine glanced around at the other tables and her eyes landed on Charli D'amelio. More specifically her crush Charli, who was sitting with her friends Madi and Avani. A pair of hands slammed down in front of Justine making her tear her eyes away from the girls and look up.

"Hi, Justine." Emily, a senior, said with a fake smile. "What were looking at?" She asked. When she followed Justine's gaze she landed on Charli. "Oh, do you have a crush on her?"

"No, I don't." Justine said quickly shaking her head.

"You do?" Emily said. "I can tell her if you want." She said with a smug look that made Justine's stomach turn.

"I don't like her. There's nothing to tell." Justine said nervously, scared to be outed.

"It's ok. I know telling your crush you like them can be scary so I want to help you." Emily said standing up and walking over to Charli's table. Justine watched her with anxiety filling her body.

"Hey Charli!" Emily said talking loudly. "Do you know Justine? She's over there?" Emily pointed at her. Many people turned to look Justines way making her burn red and shrink in her seat. 

"Um, yeah, we sit next to each other in Algebra." Charli replied awkwardly looking around the cafeteria.

"Well, she was too shy to tell you herself, but she has little crush on you." Emily said slightly laughing at having just told practically the whole school Justine's secret.

"Oh, um, I-" Charli stuttered looking over to her friends for help. Justine felt tears form in her eyes and she bolted out of the cafeteria towards the bathroom. She ran into a stall and locked the door, falling down and hugging her knees to her chest. Justine silently sobbed to herself struggling to calm down.

"Justine." A voice called out. She heard people walk in. "Justine, it's Charli. Madi and Avani are here too."

"Please, just go away." Justine said trying her hardest not to sound like she was crying.

"Can you come out, please? We just wanna talk and make sure you're ok." Avani said softly. Justine sighed and stood up. She wiped her eyes and unlocked the door.

"I'm sorry about Emily. She's always been a bitch." Avani said placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Yeah, she just likes to target me a lot. She's been trying to ruin my life for years." Justine replied looking down at her feet.

"You wanna come sit with us?" Madi asked with a comforting smile.

"I don't know. I don't think I can go back out there in front of everyone." Justine said.

"Don't worry. We won't let anyone mess with you." Madi reassured.

"Ok." Justine agreed hesitantly. The group began walking out, but Charli stopped and grabbed Justine's arm.

"I just wanted to let you know that I like you too." Charli said. "I wanted to tell you, but I never knew how."

"Really?" Justine asked shocked.

"Yeah, you're really smart and you always get really shy when the teacher calls on you in class which I think is really cute." Charli said making her blush.

"Come on! Lunch is almost over." Avani called out to the two.
