Olive wasn't entirely sure what had come over her. Yeah, she loved the mall but agreeing to go with the Hughes brothers? That wasn't something she'd normally do.

Cameron wasn't happy when she said she'd be leaving early to go hang out with them, but she didn't really care. Maybe she was proving a point, on how she could do what she wanted. Maybe she was beginning to take a liking to Jack, especially when she realized he wasn't just a pretty face and big ego.

Parking at the end of the driveway of the big suburban neighborhood, Olive wasn't surprised by the three story, white painted home. The grass was mowed to the perfect length, bright and green. It was something straight out of a poster, with the perfect all American family inside.

She texted Jack when she got there, too nervous to knock on the door in case one of his parents opened it. Moments later, the three came running out, shouting to each other. Olive got out of her car, making sure she had everything she needed before locking it.

"Ollie!" Luke exclaimed, almost surprised to see her, "this is so strange." He laughed, earning a smile from the girl.

"Tell me 'bout it, I still don't know what I'm doing here." She told him, walking up to the car that they were all stood by. Quinn was getting into the drivers seat, while Jack tried to shove Luke from getting into passenger.

"Dude, just get into the back." Luke pushed his brother and Jack muttered out a few curses at the younger.

"Why doesn't Olive just get up front?" Quinn asked and she shook her head, hating sitting in the front when someone else was driving.

"I'm fine with the back." She told him, opening the door behind the driver's side. Jack decided to let Luke have the front, climbing into the backseat alongside Olive.

Olive had warn a sweatshirt, despite it being nearly eighty degrees outside. She wanted to cover her tattoos, and the hickeys, which didn't seem to fade much beneath the concealer she applied. The car was hot though, even as Quinn turned on the AC.

"You didn't actually have to hide the tattoos, y'know? Plus it's only us, right now." Jack said, noticing how she'd put a sweatshirt on. Olive nodded, she didn't know why the hickeys were such a big problem to her. They were kinda gross, made her feel shameful of herself and what she'd done with Cameron.

Taking off the sweatshirt, she was left in a thin purple crop top. She didn't her best to adjust her hair over her neck, but it was usually as Cameron made sure people could see what he'd left. She liked Cameron, maybe more than she'd admit. He was a thrill seaker and somehow he knew if he wanted to do something, he could get Olive to tag along.

But the idea of dating him had always felt off, like she wouldn't trust him as her boyfriend the way she did as her friend.

"You know where I'm going first?" Luke asked, getting comfortable in the front seat as Quinn pulled out from the driveway.

"Victoria secret?" Jack teased, earning a laugh from the girl beside him. They were sat by the windows, but he'd been moved halfway into the middle to see a clear view of his brothers.

"Dude, shut up. I'm going to Rally house." Luke retorted and Jack perked up excitedly.

"Oh, we're so going!"

"What's Rally house?" Olive asked, the two youngest brothers turning to look at her as if she had two heads.

"It's basically a sportswear store, bunch of shit with sports teams on 'em." Quinn explained, not wanting the two to go on a whole tanget about the store.

"Of course it is." She muttered, "I'm going to Spencers while you go there."

"I wanna go to Spencers." Jack said, her brows furrowed.

"Have you ever been in spencers?" She asked and he shook his head.

"You won't like it." She told him and he frowned, nudging her with his knee.

"Maybe I will. Maybe, you'll even like Rally house." Jack stated, "I bet you'd look damn good in a hockey jersey." Her mouth went into a thin, unimpressed line, glaring at him slightly.

"Jacky, I don't think you'll like Spencers." Luke said, his brother reaching forward to shove his shoulder while still looking at the girl.

"Why don't we go to Spencers and meet them back at Rally house?" Jack suggested, Olive wanted to smile but she couldn't figure out why. She didn't understand why he was being so nice, why it was starting to be easier for her to return the kindness.

"Okay, that sounds like a good plan."

The next twenty minutes, they had listened to the music that Quinn wanted, all resorting to their phones. Every so often Olive would feel a tap on her arm, and Jack would be leaning over to show her whatever meme came up on his instagram. Each time, he'd get closer, until he was fully in the middle with his thighs pressed to hers.

She didn't move away though, liking the feeling of his soft arms against her own. She'd even found herself glancing over at his screen when he hadn't asked her to. His feed was a mix of hockey and memes, the occasional tall blonde supermodel coming up but she hadn't expected any less. He never looked at their pictures for long though, never liked them either.

"Duker thinks you killed his dogs." Luke stated, Jacks attention broke from his screen, eyes wide and Olive laughed. "Olive! Did you kill his dogs?"

"No! I swear I didn't." He didn't seem to believe her as she continued to laugh. "I'm not even laughing at that! Look at Jacks face." Her hand slapped over her mouth as Jack looked mortified and Luke laughed with her.

"His minecraft dogs." Luke told his brother who let out a visible breath. "Jeez, man, she's not that evil."

"No-no! It just startled me. No one has said anything in like half an hour and suddenly 'you killed his dogs' and I wasn't expecting it." Jack laughed out, Olive calmed her own laughter, swiping down on her notifications to see that Dylan was freaking out in the groupchat.

"Ask if he remembered to feed them." She said, rolling her eyes with a smile as they all blamed her in the chat.

"Alright, I—woah, when did you get those?" Luke pointed and she stared back in confusion. He pointed to his own neck then and Jack leaned back to see what he was talking about.

"You stayed at Cams last night." Jack mumbled, his smile had faded completely, a look of hurt clouding his eyes.

"Well, I-I—yeah, Cam got a little weird last night."

"Freaky, you mean?" Quinn stated, he looked back through the review and she slouched down.

"It's nothing, really. We're still just friends." She mumbled, reaching for her sweatshirt to hide herself in. "I hate them, so I tried to cover it but.." Olive didn't like the way Jack was looking at her.

"I thought you were, um—"

"I am." She clarified to the boy beside her and he nodded. She felt him shift, his body move to space them once again.
