The scene starts from a delightful morning with a bright sun occupying the whole sky. The birds are chirping melodiously.

While a 20-year-old Life care hospital is standing on one of the main roads and a man in his early 50s is seen sitting in his cabin and thinking about something very deeply. The person was none other than Dr. Deepak Mahajan, senior surgeon of The Life Care hospital.

Dr. Mahajan - Pata nahi log betiyon ko bojh kyu samajhte hain? Betiyan jab kisi ke ghar mein aati hain to sirf khushiyan aur khushali hi lati hain. Fir bhi kuchh berahm log betiyon ko ya to kokh mein ya fir paida hote hi maar...hmph!
Betiyon ke dil mein apne har rishte ko lekar dher saara pyaar hota hai. Chahe vo kisi ki beti ho, behen ho ya biwi...vo har rishte ko dil se nibhati hain aur unhe sehaj kar rakhti hain.

The thought process of Dr. Mahajan was disturbed by the chirking sound of the glass door as it was pushed open by a nurse.

Nurse - May I come in sir?

She questioned and received a respectful and questioning nod from Dr. Mahajan.

Nurse - Sir, Patient no. 25 jisne abhi kuchh der pehle ek baby girl ko janm diya hai. Are ready to accept their daughter now. Unke husband pehle apni daughter ko disown karne wale thhe but ab unhone apna decision badal liya. Mujhe bus aapke sign chahiye thhe unke discharge papers par.

The nurse forwarded the discharge papers towards Dr. Mahajan, and he too happily signed them, and the nurse left.

Dr. Mahajan (to himself) - Betiyan aakir kitni pyaari hoti hain. Unke dilon mein kisi ke liye bhi hoi galat feeling nahi hoti. Aur unhe badle mein kya mil raha hai, vo uski chinta nahi karti. Betiyan jis ghar mein paida hoti hain, falti-fulti hain, ek din usi ghar ko chhodkar kisi aur ka aangan sajati hain aur... (he chuckled) uss ghar ki malkin ban jati hain!

Suddenly, he experienced darkness in front of his eyes and concluded that his eyes were covered by two soft palms.

Voice - Kiske khayalo mein khoye hue hain aap, Dr. Mahajan?

Dr. Mahajan's lips curved into a wide smile looking at the person who was in front of him. It was a girl in her early twenties, with fair complexion, puffy cheeks with slight pink tint on them, pulpy lips and a confident aura. Her hazel brown eyes had something immensely beautiful in them. Her presence was enough to spread the environment with some positive vibe.

Dr. Mahajan - Nahi Monu..a..I mean, Dr. Monami Mahajan. Main to bus kuchh soch raha tha. Lekin tu yaha kaise?

Monami - Haan, vo mujhe na aapke sign chahiye thhe iss paper par. Aur ye bhi batana tha ki aaj main aapke saath hi ghar jaungi. No night shifts!

Dr. Mahajan nodded happily and did what Monami said. In a few minutes, Monami too left but Dr. Mahajan kept staring at the door lovingly from where she left.

Dr. Mahajan (to himself) -  Betiyon ki khubiyon ki baat kar raha hoon, aur apni Bitto ki hi baat nahi kari. Huff! Ye hai meri Bitto, yaani Dr. Monami Mahajan. Mere bhaiya-bhabhi ke shaheed hone ke baad, ye meri zindagi ki sabse anmol tohfa bankar mere paas aayi. Magar...meri patni, Juhi na jane kyu isse dhang se baat nahi karti. Monami ne Juhi mein humesha ek maa ka dulaar aur mamta khojne ki koshish kari, magar bechari ne humesha niraash hokar do kadam peeche le liye. Meri beti Koel, bilkul slightly dusky hai, shayad isi vajah se aaj tak Juhi ne Monami se kabhi pyaar nahi kiya. (He sighed sadly) Pata nahi ye safed skin tone se kya obsession hai!?

Ending the chain of his thoughts, Dr. Mahajan again averted his attention towards his paperwork and like this, it was 5pm in the evening and Dr. Mahajan along with Monami went to their home. Dr. Mahajan was sitting on the sofa and was studying some information about a critical case, when a man in his early 50s and a bag in his hand, entered the way through the main gate and looked at Dr. Mahajan with a 'Doctor sahab ka kuchh nahi ho sakta' look. He was Col. Pushpendra Batra.

Col. Batra - Main andar aa sakta hoon, Doctor sahab?

Dr. Mahajan looked sideways and was extremely happy to see his friend after very long. He quickly stood up and ran to hug his dear friend. Both the friends hugged each other, and Dr. Mahajan directed Col. Batra and he took a seat on the sofa. Juhi too came and greeted Col. Batra with a smile.

Col. Batra took out a red velvety pouch from his bag anf forwarded it to Dr. Mahajan and Juhi.

Dr. Mahajan - Arre ye gehne dene aane ke liye aapko takleef lene ki kya zaroorat thi. Mujhe keh diya hota to main hi...

Col. Batra - Arre Dr. sahab, isme takleef kaisi? Aap ye gehne dekhiye aur vaise bhi main janta hoon ki Bhabhiji ki paarkhi nazar ko.

Col. Batra forwarded the bangles to Juhi, and she started examining its design and making. When Monami came with a tray in her hands having glasses of water. Col. Batra took the water and blessed her.

Col. Batra - Dr. sahab, ye aapki bitto hai na? Kitni chhoti si thi jab last dekha tha, kitni badi ho gayi hai!

Dr. Mahajan - Ji ji, ye meri bitto hi hai. Magar ab ye Dr. Monami Mahajan hai. Ab ye mere saath hospital mein Doctor hai. Lekin aapne kaise pehchana?

Col. Batra (with soft eyes) - Bus, pehechan liya. Aap gehne dekhiye aur jaldi se apni bitto ke haath peele kijiye. Kehte hain 'kanyadan sabse puny ka kaam hota hai'!

Dr. Mahajan had a necklace in his hand and got his eyes watery when he imagined his Bitto wearing it.

Juhi - Bahot sundar gehne hain, bhaisahab!

Col. Batra - Magar ab inn gehno ka kya mol!

Juhi (confused) - Kyu, bhaisahab?

Col. Batra (with a smile) - Jab aapki Monami hi itni khubsurat hai to mere inn gehno ko kaun dekhega!

The men had a good laughter while Juhi was fuming in anger. She couldn't tolerate anyone praising Monami for her beauty and accomplishments.

Juhi (shouting while looking upstairs) - Chhoti! Chhoti!

Monami - Main bula kar lati hoon, chachiji.

As Monami went upstairs, she was shocked looking at the scenario.
