A/n~ I'm such a simp for Maekar's and Alicent's perfect relationship.

The halls of the Red Keep was abuzz with whispers and murmurs as the news of Lady Alicent's betrothal to Prince Maekar spread like wildfire through the Seven Kingdoms. The tension in the air was palpable, for this union would not only shape the fate of two noble houses but also have far-reaching consequences for the realm.

Rhaenyra stood at the center of the commotion. Her heart ached with a mixture of heartbreak and jealousy as she learned that Alicent, her childhood best friend and confidante, was to marry her beloved older brother. Rhaenyra had harbored secret feelings for Maekar for years, but her hopes of being with him were shattered in an instant.

As the reality of the betrothal sank in, Rhaenyra's eyes filled with tears, threatening to spill over. She fought to maintain her composure, but her emotions were overwhelming. It was then that Visenya found hee.

Visenya, with her silver hair cascading down her back, wrapped her arms around Rhaenyra and held her close. She could feel the storm of emotions raging within her sister, and she knew the pain Rhaenyra was experiencing.

"Rhaenyra," Visenya whispered softly, her voice filled with empathy. "I know this news is difficult for you. But remember, you are a Targaryen, and our family's strength lies in unity."

Rhaenyra's tears flowed freely now, her sobs shaking her fragile frame. "I can't bear the thought of him marrying someone else, especially Alicent," she choked out, her voice trembling with anguish.

Visenya gently stroked Rhaenyra's hair, her touch soothing and comforting. "I understand your heartache, dear sister. Love can be a complicated thing, and sometimes, it forces us to make difficult choices."

Rhaenyra lifted her tear-streaked face, her eyes searching Visenya's for solace. "What do I do, Visenya? How do I overcome this pain?"

Visenya's eyes sparkled with a mix of compassion and wisdom. "You must find strength within yourself, Rhaenyra. Focus on your duty to the realm and to our family. Your love for Maekar may be unrequited, but you have a destiny that goes beyond one man. You are destined for greatness."

Rhaenyra took a shaky breath, her tears subsiding as she absorbed Visenya's words. She looked up at her sister, a glimmer of determination in her eyes. "You're right, sister. I cannot let this heartbreak define me."

The streets of King's Landing were alive with bustling activity as Lady Alicent and Prince Maekar strolled arm in arm, their faces adorned with smiles that betrayed the joy in their hearts. The news of their betrothal had spread through the city like wildfire, and the common people couldn't contain their excitement and well-wishes for the couple.

As they walked, the sound of cheering and applause filled the air. The common folk, recognising the Lady of House Hightower and the Prince of House Targaryen, gathered around them, eager to offer their congratulations and blessings.

"Congratulations, Lady Alicent! You've won the heart of a prince!" a middle-aged woman exclaimed, her eyes shining with admiration.

Alicent blushed at the kind words, her cheeks turning a delicate shade of pink. "Thank you, my lady," she replied with a gracious smile. "I am honored to have the love and support of the people."

Prince Maekar, standing tall and regal beside her, acknowledged the crowd with a nod and a warm smile. The commoners, normally in awe of the royal family, felt a genuine connection as they saw the happiness radiating from the couple. They couldn't help but feel a sense of hope and joy for the future of the realm.

"Long live Lady Alicent and Prince Maekar!" a young man shouted, raising his mug of ale in a toast.

The words echoed through the streets, and soon, the entire crowd joined in, their voices blending into a chorus of well-wishes. The couple basked in the adulation, grateful for the support of the people they would one day rule.

As the crowd slowly dispersed, Alicent and Maekar continued their walk, their arms still entwined. They exchanged glances, their eyes filled with love. The streets of King's Landing had witnessed countless tales of love and intrigue, but none quite like theirs.

As they strolled through the streets of King's Landing, arm in arm, the common people watched, their hearts filled with renewed faith in the power of love and the promise of a brighter tomorrow.

As Alicent and Maekar continued their walk through the lively streets of King's Landing, they noticed a sparkling jeweler's shop nestled among the other bustling establishments. The display window was adorned with exquisite pieces, catching their attention like a beacon of luxury.

Maekar's eyes gleamed with excitement as he looked at Alicent, his voice filled with affection. "My love, let us stop here. I wish to gift you something truly special."

Alicent's heart fluttered with anticipation, her eyes lighting up with curiosity. She nodded, unable to contain her excitement at the prospect of receiving a token of their love.

They entered the jeweler's shop, the tinkling of a bell announcing their arrival. The air was filled with the scent of polished silver and the faint glimmer of precious gems. The shopkeeper, an older man with a kind smile, greeted them warmly.

"Welcome, my lord and lady. How may I assist you today?"

Maekar returned the smile, his gaze fixed on Alicent. "We are in search of something extraordinary, something befitting a princess."

The shopkeeper's eyes widened, clearly understanding the significance of Maekar's words. He brought forth an array of dazzling tiaras, each adorned with diamonds and other precious gemstones that shimmered with unparalleled brilliance.

Alicent's breath caught in her throat as she looked upon the breathtaking collection. Her eyes roamed over the unique designs, each tiara more magnificent than the last. She reached out, delicately touching one that caught her eye, its diamonds sparkling like stars.

"This, my love," Maekar said, his voice filled with certainty, "is the tiara that will adorn your brow on our wedding day."

The shopkeeper gently placed the tiara on Alicent's head, positioning it with utmost care. As she looked at herself in the mirror, she couldn't help but feel like a true princess, her heart swelling with happiness.

But Maekar wasn't finished yet. He turned to the shopkeeper and requested to see their collection of rings. The shopkeeper brought forth an assortment of dazzling options, each one more exciting than the last.

Maekar's eyes searched for the perfect symbol of their love. Eventually, he found a ring that captured his attention—a band of delicate gold, adorned with a single, brilliant diamond.

"This ring," he said, his voice filled with tenderness, "shall be a constant reminder of the love we share. With it, I promise to love and cherish you for all the days of our lives."

With a sense of joy and anticipation, Maekar slipped the ring onto Alicent's finger. It fit perfectly, as if it had been made solely for her. Tears of happiness welled up in Alicent's eyes as she gazed at the beautiful ring, knowing that it symbolised a love that would endure through all challenges.

As they left the jeweler's shop, Alicent wore her diamond-encrusted tiara with pride, and the ring on her finger glinted in the sunlight. The people on the streets of King's Landing couldn't help but marvel at the radiant couple, their love shining as brightly as the jewels that adorned them.

—————

In the grand chamber of the Red Keep, sunlight poured through the stained glass windows, casting a warm glow on the scene unfolding within. Alicent stood at the center, her heart aflutter with excitement, as Visenya and Rhaenyra, her soon-to-be sisters-in-law, helped her prepare for her wedding to Prince Maekar.

Visenya, adorned in a gown of silver and sapphire, beamed with joy as she carefully adjusted the diamond-encrusted tiara on Alicent's head. "You look absolutely radiant, Alicent," she exclaimed, her voice filled with genuine happiness. "Maekar is a lucky man to have you as his bride."

Alicent blushed, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you, Visenya. Your kindness means the world to me."

Meanwhile, Rhaenyra, her face a mask of composure, silently fastened the golden embroidery of Alicent's white gown. Her hands moved skillfully, but her eyes betrayed a hint of sadness and envy. She had always harbored feelings for Maekar, and seeing him marry another stirred a mix of conflicting emotions within her.

As Alicent turned to face Rhaenyra, she noticed the sadness in her eyes. Concern filled her heart, and she reached out to touch Rhaenyra's hand gently. "Rhaenyra, are you okay?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine care.

Rhaenyra forced a smile, her voice laced with a touch of melancholy. "I'm fine, Alicent. Just lost in my thoughts, that's all."

Alicent, dressed in her white gown with golden embroidery, wore the ring and tiara that Maekar had bought for her, symbols of their love and commitment. And though Rhaenyra's heart ached, she made a silent vow to try and support her brother and his new bride, finding solace in the love that surrounded them.

Visenya picked the heavy wool cloak up off the bed. It was silver and green and baring the sigil of House Hightower on it and Visenya clasped the cloak around Alicent's neck.

"In two hours, we shall be sisters," Visenya smiled widely, hugging Alicent to her side. Rhaenyra smiled. In her younger years, Rhaenyra wanted Alicent to be apart of their family, but now she wasn't so sure.

—————

Maekar stood in the hall of the Sept of Remembrance, his heart pounding with nervous anticipation. Today, he would marry Alicent, the woman he loved, and begin a new chapter of his life. But the weight of his responsibilities and the enormity of the occasion made him feel a mix of excitement and sickness.

As he glanced around the magnificent sept, his eyes caught sight of his father, King Viserys, standing by the altar. Maekar approached him, his steps hesitant yet determined. The King's regal presence exuded a sense of calm, and Maekar hoped that some of it would rub off on him.

"Father," Maekar greeted, his voice tinged with a touch of nervousness. "I can hardly believe the day has finally arrived."

King Viserys turned towards his son, a warm smile gracing his face. "Indeed, my son. Today marks a significant moment in your life, but remember, you have nothing to fear. Alicent is a remarkable woman, and I have no doubt that the two of you will find happiness together."

Maekar nodded, his eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Father. Your words mean a great deal to me."

Just then, Gwayne Hightower, Alicent's younger brother, approached the duo. Dressed in his finest attire, he exuded an air of confidence and excitement. Gwayne had always been supportive of Maekar and Alicent's relationship, and his presence brought a sense of comfort to Maekar's anxious heart.

"Gwayne," Maekar greeted warmly, extending his hand. "Thank you for being here today. I am grateful for your support."

Gwayne shook Maekar's hand firmly, a genuine smile playing on his lips. "Maekar, my friend, it is an honor to stand witness to your union. Alicent is lucky to have you, and I have no doubt that you will make each other happy."

Maekar's nerves began to ease in the presence of his father and Gwayne's encouraging words. He took a deep breath, finding strength in their support. "Thank you, Gwayne. Your friendship means a great deal to me."

As the sounds of music and laughter filled the sept, Maekar glanced at Alicent's empty spot at the altar, awaiting her arrival. Though nerves still fluttered within him, he felt a renewed sense of confidence and excitement. With his father's wisdom and Gwayne's unwavering support, he was ready.

Maekar adjusted sword belt, his fingers fidgeting with the red embroidery on his tunic. The Valyrian steel sword, unnamed but cherished, was strapped securely around his waist, a symbol of his noble lineage, and atop his head, a golden crown shimmered, reminding him of the weight of his impending responsibility as both husband and King.

As his nerves threatened to explode, Maekar's attention was drawn to the entrance of the sept. His heart skipped a beat when he saw his two sisters, Rhaenyra and Visenya, walking towards him with grace and elegance. They were both dressed beautifully, their presence a comforting sight amidst the sea of guests. Rhaenyra's reassuring smile and Visenya's encouraging nod gave him the strength to carry on.

Gwayne and King Viserys, seeing Maekar's anxiety, stepped forward, their expressions filled with warmth and support. Gwayne clasped his friend's shoulder, his voice steady yet filled with emotion. "Maekar, my brother, today is the beginning of a new chapter in your life. You have my sincerest wishes for a lifetime of happiness and love."

King Viserys placed a hand on Maekar's other shoulder, his voice carrying the weight of fatherly pride. "My son, you have grown into a remarkable young man, and I have no doubt that you will make a worthy husband and King. May the Seven bless you and Alicent with a prosperous and joyous union and beautiful children."

Maekar nodded, his gratitude evident in his eyes. "Thank you, Gwayne, Father. Your words mean more to me than I can express."

As Gwayne and King Viserys took their seats, Maekar's attention shifted back to the entrance. The doors swung open, revealing Alicent, her arm interlocked with her father's. Maekar's breath caught in his throat at the sight of her ethereal beauty. She wore a white gown with golden embroidery that shimmered like moonlight, her veil cascading down her back like a waterfall of dreams. The tiara he bought her sat atop her head as the did the ring around her finger, symbolising their love for one another, and the cloak of House Hightower sat on her shoulders.

Alicent's eyes met Maekar's, and in that moment, all the nerves and doubts melted away. The love and adoration in her gaze filled him with a sense of purpose. This was the woman he had chosen, the woman who had captured his heart.

As Alicent and her father began their slow walk down the aisle, Maekar's gaze never wavered. His heart swelled with anticipation and love, knowing that soon she would be standing by his side.

"You look beautiful," Maekar whispered when Alicent stopped beside him.

"And you, handsome," Alicent whispered back as the septon appeared in front of them.

"You may now cloak the bride and bring her under your protection," the septon spoke over the deafening silence. Maekar and Alicent faced each other, small smiles on their lips as Maekar reached up and unclasped the cloak of House Hightower, folding it over his arm and handing it to Ser Otto who retook his spot beside his older brother, Lord Hobert.

King Viserys then approached, handing Maekar the black cloak bearing the three headed Targaryen sigil. The King placed a hand on both their arms, smiling widely at the pair before retaking his place by his daughters. Maekar put the cloak around Alicent's shoulders, clasping it around her neck, bringing her under his protection.

"My lords, my ladies, we stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife. One flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever," the septon announced to the gathered crowd of Lords and Ladies from all corners of the realm, even Magisters and Lords from Essos and representatives from Yi-Ti and other far away cities.

Maekar gently grabbed Alicent's hand as the septon tied a ribbon around their intertwined hands. "Let it be known that Lady Alicent of House Hightower and Prince Maekar of House Targaryen are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder," the septon began unraveling the ribbon. "In the sight of the Seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity."

"Look upon each other and say the words" the septon commanded, and Alicent and Maekar turned to face each other again.

"Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger..." they said simultaneously.

"I am hers and she is mine. From this day, until the end of my days."
"I am his and he is mine. From this day, until the end of my days."

"With this kiss, I pledge my love," Maekar announced, gently cupping Alicent's face. Alicent leaned into his touch as unshed tears gleamed in her eyes.

In that moment, time seemed to stand still. The world around them faded away, leaving only the two of them in each other's embrace. Their hearts beat in sync as they leaned in, their lips meeting in a passionate kiss. It was a kiss that spoke of love, desire, and a deep connection.

Their lips moved in perfect harmony, as if they had been waiting for this moment their whole lives. Their kiss was filled with tenderness, longing, and a promise of a future filled with love and companionship. It was a kiss that sealed their vows, binding them together forever.

As they finally pulled away, their eyes met, sparkling with newfound love and devotion. The crowd erupted in applause and cheers, celebrating the union of two souls who had found their perfect match. Maekar and Alicent's first kiss as husband and wife was a testament to their passion and the beginning of a beautiful journey filled with love, happiness, and endless possibilities.

"I bring news," Maekar said solemnly as he stood in the doorway of his and Alicent's shared chambers. A month had passed since the Royal Wedding.

"So do I!" Alicent said excitedly, grabbing his hands. "You first!"

"I am to aid Lord Corlys in his efforts to reclaim the Stepstones and stop this Crabfeeder once and for all," Maekar stroked her knuckles with his thumb.

In an instant, Alicent's excitement fell and tears welled up in her eyes as she stared at her husband, scared for his life.

"When do you leave?" She asked, her voice breaking as Maekar pulled her onto his lap, wrapping his strong arms around her waist.

"Two days," Maekar mumbled into her neck, placing comforting kisses along her collar bone. "I am going against my father's wishes."

"You will come back to me," Alicent ordered, a small smile on her face as she kissed him lovingly. "That's an order from your Queen."

"Whatever my Queen demands," Maekar smiled, squeezing her waist. "What news do you have for me? Happier news than I bring I hope."

"I am with child," Alicent smiled, and she watched as Maekar's face dropped and paled.

Alicent's words hung in the air, filling the room with a mix of emotions. Maekar's eyes widened in surprise, his grip on Alicent tightening as he processed the news. His expression shifted from joy to concern, a myriad of thoughts racing through his mind.

"Child?" Maekar whispered, his voice barely audible. "We're going to have a child?"

Alicent nodded, her smile filled with both happiness and understanding. She reached up to cup Maekar's face, her touch gentle and reassuring.

"Yes, my love," she replied softly. "A precious life growing within me."

Maekar's initial shock transformed into a mixture of awe and worry. He held Alicent close, his mind filled with a whirlwind of emotions.

"Our child," Maekar murmured, his voice filled with a mix of wonder and trepidation. "I cannot help but feel both immense joy and fear for what the future holds."

Alicent caressed his cheek, her eyes filled with love and understanding. "I share those feelings, my brave warrior," she said.

Maekar's gaze met Alicent's, a spark of determination shining in his eyes. "I will fight fiercely to protect our family," he vowed. "This news only strengthens my resolve to return to you safely."

Alicent's smile grew wider as she nodded, her hand still resting on her belly. "And I will be here, waiting for you, praying for your safe return," she whispered.

In that moment, they found strength in each other's arms. The news of their impending child brought a new sense of purpose amidst the uncertainties of Maekar's upcoming war.

Alicent laid in bed later that night in her nightgown, her hair let down and flowing down her back. Maekar was sat with his back to her undoing the braids in his silvery blonde hair, and a small smile on crept on her face as she held her barely showing pregnant belly.

"I love you," Alicent broke the silence. Maekar glanced back at her with a smile of his own.

"I love you too, my sweet," Maekar got into bed next to her, but instead of his head resting on the pillow, he laid his head on her thighs next to her belly. "Hello, little one, I am your father."

"What are you doing?" Alicent laughed loudly at her husband's silliness.

"I'm talking to our child," Maekar grinned.

Alicent's laughter filled the room, a joyful sound that echoed through the air. She looked down at Maekar, her eyes shining with affection and adoration.

"You truly are a wonderful father already," Alicent said, her voice filled with warmth. "Our child is fortunate to have you."

Maekar's grin widened as he continued to rest his head on her thighs, his hand gently caressing her belly. He spoke in a soft, tender tone, as though addressing a precious secret shared between the three of them.

"Little one," Maekar began, his voice filled with love. "You are a part of us, we cannot wait to meet you, to hold you in our arms and shower you with all the love in the world."

Alicent watched her husband, her heart swelling with love for both him and their unborn child. She placed her hand on Maekar's head, running her fingers through his silvery blonde hair.

"Your father is brave and strong," Alicent whispered, her voice filled with pride. "He will protect you, guide you, and be there for you every step of the way. And I will be right by his side, loving you unconditionally."

Maekar lifted his head slightly, his eyes meeting Alicent's. The love and determination in his gaze were unmistakable.

"Our love will surround you, little one," Maekar said, his voice filled with conviction. "We will create a home filled with warmth, laughter, and endless support. You are already so cherished."

Alicent's smile softened, her eyes shimmering with tears of joy. She leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Maekar's forehead, feeling a profound sense of gratitude for the life they were bringing into the world.

As they lay there, connected by love and the anticipation of their growing family, Maekar and Alicent reveled in the precious moments of this night, savoring the beauty and promise of their journey together as parents.

Maekar continued to speak to their unborn child, his voice filled with excitement.

"Little one, I want you to know that you are already so loved," Maekar whispered, his hand gently rubbing Alicent's belly. "You have brought so much happiness into our lives, and we haven't even met you yet. Your mother and I have dreamed of this moment, of holding you in our arms and watching you grow."

Alicent's eyes filled with tears as she listened to Maekar's words. She intertwined her fingers with his, feeling the warmth and love pass between them.

"Every night for a month, we talk about you, about the dreams and hopes we have for your future," Maekar continued. "We imagine the adventures we will go on as a family, the lessons we will teach you, and the memories we will create together. You are the greatest gift we could ever receive."

Alicent's heart swelled with a mixture of emotions - love, hope, and a touch of vulnerability. She couldn't wait to embark on this new chapter of their lives.

"I promise you, little one, that I will always be there for you," Maekar vowed, his voice steady and sincere. "I will be your protector, your confidant, and your biggest supporter. No matter what challenges you face in life, know that you can always count on me."

"And I will be right there beside your father," Alicent added, her voice filled with determination. "We will face the world together, hand in hand, guiding and nurturing you every step of the way. Our love will be your anchor, and our home will always be a safe haven for you."
