Third Person POV

Shu Kurenai was in his way to the hospital where is best friend is in, he had a bag filled with freshly baked chocolate donuts by yours truly.
He remembered how Valt liked the sweet taste of American donuts when both of them tried some in a Valt's visit to US, that boy really have a sweet tooth.

So he decided to make some for him and it turned out quite good in his opinion.

Anyways, as he was walking down the familiar path to the hospital, he recalled the conversation with Valt from last night.

Flashback

Once those words left Valt's mouth Shu froze, he stared at the blunette with wide eyes as Valt stared him with blank ones.

He couldn't even mutter out a word, was his childhood friend serious? Like really, is he giving up already? That's not the Valt Aoi he knew.

He clenched his fist as his wide eyes turned into a frown directed toward the floor and mustered up the courage to reply to him but-

He was cutted off by a laughter.

Looking up he saw the blunette laughing like there's no tomorrow, if I say he wasn't confused I would be lying.

"Y-you- pfft- be-lieved t-that- HAHAHA-"

After finally his laughter died, Valt grinned at the confused albino, "I was just kidding don't worry!"

But he saw how he clenched the blanket on his lap.

"There's no way I would ever let this shi- I-I mean- disease win against me!"

But he saw how he digged his nails into his palm.

"So rest assured!"

However, the question is: how can he not worry?

End of Flashback

'Idiot...' He thought as he continued to walk, until lhe found himself in front of the hospital's sliding glass gate.

Taking a deep breath, he went inside and straight toward Valt's room.

Opening the door he went inside, to see his best friend sitting on the bed staring at the window

Valt Aoi who was thinking about some stuff heard the door opening so he turned his gaze toward to door only to see his albino best friend which made him beam, "Shu! You're finally here!"

Shu smiled at him softly "'sup"

Then Valt's eyes landed on the paper bag in Shu's hands, getting curious he asked, "what's that?"

Shu followed his gaze, "ah this?" Valt nodded, "it's the chocolate donuts I made"

Valt's eyes lighten at the word 'donut' seeing this made Shu chuckle as he handed him a donut "wanna try?"

Valt nodded excitedly before he took the donut form his hand.

Taking a bite from the sweet treat before his eyes lightened up even more, "it's really goooooood!!" Thn he started to munch on it.

Shu laughed at his reaction, "glad you liked it" before taking out a donut and eating it too.

They went into a silence, not an awkward one, a comfortable one until...

"Soo..." Shu started after clearing his throat.

Valt turned to him still munching on the donuts "hm?"

Shu took a deep breath before continuing, "...about what you said last night"

This made Valt almost choke on the donut before he nervously stuttered: "l-look, l-ike I told-"

"No, you shouldn't"

Valt's eyes widened in shock as his gaze met Shu's frown "...huh?"

hu continued: "No you shouldn't commit suicide."

Valt stared at him for a while before his widened eyes softened and his lips formed into a little smile, "you are cruel" he muttered softly.

His expression made She's expression turn into a soft one too, with the same smile "look, just in four years, you turned from a rookie blader to a pro blader, someone who lots of people admire"

'Including me... '

"I was barely there the most of the time, I only saw it from TV, I saw how you or lose, but wasn't there to congratulate you when you won or cheer you up when you were sad because of a lose, I barely called you because of work....I was never a good friend to you..." He looked down in shame one he said the last words.

Valt frowned at his words.

"So please give me one more chance, another chance to stand by your side, please challenge me, practice with me and battle against me, just like the past" he looked back up right at his eyes.

Valt turned his gaze toward the blanker on his lap, "but I can't... "

"You're not a main character," the blunette looked at him, "you are  the son of a baker and a pilot, you aren't the hero of a novel either, just a normal boy who makes miracles happen, and like you said."

Taking a deep breath before he continued, "there's no way a disease can win against the wonder boy, right?" He finally finished with a smile.

That... That speech of his best friend, hit him like a truck. His eyes teared up as he bit the bottom of his lip, "you really are cruel, aren't you?"

Shu smile widened as he shrugged, "guess so"

That was when the door open, "Heyyo Valt! Look who's bac-" Aiger cutted himself off at the sight of his blunette friend's teary eyes and Shu's smiley face.

He came here to visit Valt with the twins only to see this?

Twins sweat-dropped at the scene before letting out a sigh 'here we go again...'

He gawked before a vein popped out of his temple: "you bastard!! What the hell do you think you are doing ha?! Making your own best friend cry?!! How dare you! You asshole!! Iwillmakeyoupayback-AHSJDJXJOQJ" he growled like the animal he is and he took out his sandal.

Behold the ALMIGHTY ✨ L a  c h a n c l a ✨

But before he could throw it at him Toko hold him back as Nika tried to take the sandal out of his hand. "Hey hey! Calm down will you!?" Toko tried to calm him down but- no use.

Shu just stand there doing nothing but watching he scene unfold as Valt was now laughing his heart out despite his eyes still being teary.

'Guess, I should tryand I have a promise to keep afterall'
