[ THE DAY OF KARA'S WEDDING ]

"love, love, love, love long as we got
love, love, love"

"does this dress make me look huge?" selene whined to brandon.

"i mean," he hesitated "you are pregnant."

the bride whipped around and gave him the most frightening death stare he'd ever seen.

"wrong answer brandon, wrong answer."

"i didn't mean it like that! i just think—"

the sound of the door opening interrupted whatever hole brandon was bound to dig himself deeper into. selene's breath hitched and she could only pray it wasn't kara.

luckily, faye's head popped in and selene was able to unclench every part of her body.

"it's just me," she giggled.

"thank the lord," the only man in the room muttered. "i need a break."

faye opened the door for exit and selene yelled out "you're supposed to be my man of honor!"

"i'll be back!"

faye laughed and shut the voice and everything else out with the door.

selene let her head drop back, "i'll forever be mad at kara for getting to ask you, first."

"ask me what?"

"to be her maid of honor," she extended a arm signaling she needed help.

faye helped the woman wobble over to the bed. they were currently in the room of the home they rented for the wedding. it was huge, definitely big enough to have both kara and selene as far from each other as possible.

"oh come on, you know i'm the maid of honor for both of you."

"nope," selene popped the "p" "that role was given to vinnie and brandon the minute kara betrayed me."

faye rolled her eyes, "you're so dramatic!"

faye looked at selene and the huge belly she was sporting.

both selene and kara wanted to have kids someday. only for them, they had to do it another way. neither of them were planning on being pregnant for the wedding. but, when the clinic informed them that the only way they'd be likely to find a donor would be as soon as possible, they jumped at the opportunity.

"how's the little thing doing?" selene was currently in her second trimester, five months and counting.

selene placed her hands on her stomach looking down, "he's doing good, quiet today. must know it's a big day for his moms."

"i thought you didn't know the gender?"

"we don't, but i want a boy." she smiled looking back at faye once more.

the smile warmed her heart and she couldn't help to smile back.

"i'm really happy for you, you know?" faye admitted honestly.

she felt a hand rest on her knee. "i know you are. are you ready to be here?"

"what do you mean?"

"to get married," selene laughed as if it was obvious, "you and vinnie have been together for five years. you remember that weird year when me and kara split? both of you reassured us we'd make it through."

faye shrugged, "we'll get there, i know we will."

"yeah but don't have me waiting too long."

a knock on the door pulled the two away from their heart to heart.

"it's just vinnie,"

selene smirked, "speak of the fucking devil, huh?"

"don't cuss in front of the baby," faye scolded walking towards the door.

before her stood vincent cole hacker in all his glory.

he was dressed in a blue blazer with a white dress shirt, top two buttons, unbuttoned. typical. his silver accessories matched well and added onto his "flare."

"hey," faye murmured, it was insane the effect he had on her till this day.

lucky for her, the effect she had on him was just as strong.

vinnie didn't speak any words before cupping her face and diving in to kiss her. faye reacted almost instantly, placing a hand on his arms.

"ew!" selene yelled from the bed. "you're gonna tell me not to cuss in front of the baby then practically bump and grind in my doorway?"

the two separated, "at least the baby can't see yet." vinnie shrugged.

"can't believe you came all across the house and it wasn't even to see me!" selene huffed.

"of course it was, ms. heart here was just a plus." vinnie shot back smugly.

with her thoughts swirling back to her, faye groaned. "ugh, you probably fucked up my lipstick."

"i'm sorry, just couldn't help myself." he squeezed her hip with a wink.

selene let out a few more grunts of disgust.

vinnie bended down to reach faye's ear, "you think we could sneak off to the bathroom and be back in time for the wedding?"

she scoffed and hit his chest, "i'm leaving before you get me in trouble. make sure your bride is ready, i'll check on kara and send brandon back."

"always the boss lady, right?" vinnie laughed.

selene nodded, "you know it, can't let anyone get too ahead."

when faye found kara, she was stuffing her face with a blueberry muffin.

"how's my bride?" faye asked with a smile.

"hungry," kara answered, crumbs nearly falling out the sides of her mouth.

"yeah, i don't think i've eaten all day."

kara held out the tray of muffins for faye and she happily picked one up.

"i swear you got all the pregnancy hormones," faye chuckled watching her friend before her.

"no i seriously have!" kara felt seen. "the other day we were binging twilight and i started bawling at the end of breaking dawn. selene had to hold me while hearing me blubbering, it was horrific."

faye felt the sides of her face stretching with every laugh, "she should've got it in video!"

kara shook her head, "fuck you."

when their laughter died down, faye asked her friend seriously, "how are you feeling, though?"

"i'm okay, nervous. i don't want to be left at the alter." she half-joked.

"you know selene would never do that,"

"i know, just last minute jitters. i'll be okay. we'll be great." she smiled. "and you? vinnie treating you alright?"

now faye smiled, "yeah, more than alright. i just hope we get to this point."

the bride frowned, "what do you mean?"

"i don't know," faye shrugged.

"don't back down now, spit it out."

she huffed, "it's just, we've been together for five years. they say a man will always know if he wants to marry you or not. what if he doesn't? i still feel the same intensity between us since day one, but, does he?"

kara called it, "bullshit,"

"excuse me?"

"i've watched you and vinnie fall in love more and more with each other everyday. since we were kids, faye. that kind of love isn't just dying out. and so what if he hasn't proposed yet? he's never given you reason to doubt his love, so don't start now."

faye hushed herself, "i guess you're right."

"i know i am,"

"i never took you as the type to stand up for him, very informative."

she rolled her eyes, "oh, hush."

faye looked at her watch, "ready to get this show in the road?"

"yup, almost 3:45 and i can hear your song playing."

both of them took a breath. faye got kara's grandma, who would be walking kara down the aisle, and took the two of them to the secluded area they would be walking from.

"okay, you two begin walking and i'll get everyone else."

kara looked at faye with eyes of thankfulness, "i love you."

"save those words for your bride."

both bridal parties stood on the sides of selene and kara. faye stood on kara's side with her cousins and little sister. in contrast, vinnie and brandon stood on selene's side with some of her high school friends.

although the parties were small, the wedding was packed. both an interesting mix of selene and kara's families but more of selene's friends than kara's.

still, the only thing that mattered were the two women looking into each other's eyes.

the officiant had finally reached the point for the vows.

"i'll go first," kara said confidently, hoots and hollers were heard from the crowd.

a breath was taken, "i remember in our senior year of high school you told me i wouldn't be invited to your wedding," selene looks mortified by the mention but kara smiles brightly. "i bet you regret that, huh?"

"oh god," selene whispered.

"still, you were one of the first people i let in my person bubble i had created. i always had trouble letting people in. i needed to be tough, to keep people out and keep people from hurting me. i was able to accept a softer side of myself with you. and somehow, i found myself fighting for you. you were the only girl i could think of, you were the constant of all of my wants and needs. i've never fought for anyone as i've fought for you. and i will continue fighting for every piece of you until we are both old and wrinkly." she laughed, "in my eyes you are my person and i'm so glad i was able to find you so soon. just know, i'm not letting you go, ever."

selene sniffled and wiped her tears, "okay, my turn." the woman cleared her throat, "you, kara zon, know me on a level, externally and internally, that frightens me to my core. i remember when i first met you i felt this insane jealousy of everything that you were. it didn't take me long to realize it wasn't jealousy i felt, but so many feelings at once. you were so confident and comfortable, your energy was something i found myself drawn to. when you finally let me in, i knew i never wanted to let go. although i wasn't sure who i was when i met you, you've helped me figure it out and i will forever be thankful to have you at my side. i cant imagine walking through life without you and i hope you will never let me find out. i love you more than words can decipher and forever will."

faye listened to the vows with her eyes glossy and her heart clenched, she met eyes with the only person on her mind.

vinnie's eyes were already on her and he used one of his hands to blow her a silent kiss. and in that moment, faye felt she knew where they were in life.

the ceremony was one of the most beautiful things faye has ever watched.

and sure, maybe calling a wedding beautiful was cliché, but faye had no other words to describe the feelings in the air.

she was currently talking to brandon and his date, amira. they were a nice person he had been talking to for a while. although nothing was too serious, the atmosphere of the wedding was probably going to lead to a new couple of the group.

"hey brandon, mira," vinnie interjected, "can i steal her for a moment?"

"yeah no problem," both of them assured.

vinnie put out his hand as an invitation, faye accepted.

he took them away from everyone else, close enough to hear the music but far enough to have their desired privacy.

"what's over here?" faye asked unsurely.

he shrugged, "just dance with me, yeah?"

faye nodded and the two silently swayed together.

"you're gonna be a beautiful bride one day." vinnie stated calmly, cherishing faye in his arms.

she looked up, "is that your way of proposing?"

he chuckled, "trust me, you'll know when i'm proposing."

"we don't have to get married. anytime soon, i mean. i'm just lucky to have you."

vinnie frowned a bit and faye stopped them from moving, "did i say something wrong?"

"no, no. it's just, i wish you would've told me that before i spent almost five thousand dollars on this."

this? faye looked down.

before her stood a rose gold diamond encrusted wedding ring.

"oh my- did i- did i ruin our proposal?" faye was working her way to a breakdown before vinnie grabbed her face.

"no, i wasn't going to do it here. i was just trying to get some advice from kara, since you know she did the proposing."

faye's heart went back to it's regular pace.

"do you think i don't want to marry you?" vinnie asked solemnly.

"it's not that, i just, i didn't want to rush anything. i want everything to be natural."

vinnie made sure to look her in the eyes before continuing his message, "i love you, so much. faye, you mean the world to me. nothing would make me happier than being able to call you mine, like really."

"so what does this mean for us? our future?"

vinnie took her hand in his, "i guess that's for us to figure out."

uhm, the end?

i know the ending is super open and i'm sorry this book couldn't be better lmao.

i feel like my writing changed a lot over the course of this book considering it took me like a year to finish. but, it's like the first book i've ever really finished. therefore, i am very proud of myself :)

i didn't do a good job telling vinnie and faye's story but i hope this chapter shows how they've come to love each other over the years, selene and kara included! they all love each other so much and i wanted to use the wedding to show that.

overall, thank you guys for all the love and support and i hope i get to see you guys at my next book <3
