EVANGELINE DENALI HAS NEVER FELT ASHAMED as she was until now. She didn't mean to. She tried to control it as much as she could; however, it was still tempting.

Now she was running through the thick snow of Denali, Alaska.

A heavy feeling was on her shoulders as she passed through the woods, thinking of many different possibilities if she just had control.

What will her family think of her? They'll be disappointed in her. They trusted her that she could do it. After decades of practicing, she should have been better at it now.

She saw the modernized styled house that she called home, hiding in a tree, contemplating whether or not she should knock at the front door.

Minutes ticked by, and the sun was almost setting. Hesitantly she stood at the front porch, walking silently to the front door.

She heard soft footsteps approaching, and the person finally opened the door. Evangeline was looking down, feeling the guilt that crept inside of her.

"Evangeline! You're finally home!" The person greeted her, and she saw in her peripheral vision the person welcoming her inside.

She lets out a dry sob, venom pooling in her eyes, tears that will never be able to fall.

"Kate, I've made a terrible mistake," she says as she looks up at the blonde vampire in front of her, Evangeline's red eyes boring into Kate's golden eyes.
