You smoothed the skirt of your wedding dress anxiously. These were not normal wedding jitters: no, these were I'm about to break my kind-of-boyfriend-who-I've-only-touched-like-twice out of prison in the middle of a wedding to a man I don't love jitters.

At least the dress was absolutely beautiful - a bodice bejewelled with diamonds and silver that clung perfectly to the shape of your body, expanding into a full, lustrous skirt of what seemed to be a thousand layers imbedded with tiny crystals, imperceptibly light and easy to manoeuvre in. It was paired with simple heels, but the outfit made you feel like a queen.

It may have seemed strange that this was the simplest possible wedding dress of all the choices, but that was Asgard for you. Normally, you probably would've enjoyed picking out a super pretty dress you didn't have to pay for - but this wasn't an actual wedding, and you did need to be able to move faster than a goddamn snail. The other options that included a train that actually went for ten metres and another that required a crown the size of your head would not have been practical enough foe the plan.

"Lady Y/N, you look beautiful," Frigga smiled. Then she leaned in closely. "And I am sure Loki will think so as well."

Your face heated up with a pleased flush, knowing she was in on the plan so you could be truthful around her. "Thank you. And thank you for helping us."

Frigga laughed. "I'm not blind, Y/N. I could see your eyes for my other son. Why do you think I dressed you in his colours the night you first met him?"

You thought back to it and laughed, realising she was right. "It's kinda funny how much I used to hate him and now..."

"Lady Y/N! Where are you?!" you heard Thor boom.

"I'm here!" you call, smoothing your hair, which was tied back into a simple twist secured by a diamond-studded clip that was somehow immaculately regal.

Thor rounded the corner, and it dawned on you that you should've expected that Asgardians got married in ... full body armour. He looked prepared for war, but simultaneously like a prince ready for the throne.

Frigga slipped the final piece of the ensemble - a red and gold tiara necessary to match Thor's colour scheme - on top of your head, and gave you a motherly pat, seeming a little awkward now that the time had come.

"We need to go, Y/N," Thor said uncomfortably - this charade was going to be difficult to pull off.

"Okay." You mustered a smile for him, extending your elbow.

He took your arm, and you glided after him, rounding the corner of the hall. A pair of guards stood stationed at the large throne room doors. You tried to focus: narrowing your gaze to the end of the flower-covered carpet, where Odin stood in front of his throne. You took one step in front of the other, walking slowly as you were told. More rose petals were thrown over you and Thor by the crowd of Asgardians, and you tried not to get them stuck somewhere embarrassing, your smile becoming tighter than the second.

"Prince Thor," Odin said happily as you reached his feet and both bowed. You had to smile at how happy he sounded - this isn't going to end well for you, old man. "This day is glorious for Asgard and the Nine Realms. The Prince of Asgard finding a beautiful woman who loved him."

You rolled your eyes a little, but subtly enough, seeing as your e/c irises were all but concealed under heavy mascara.

"Now, Y/N Y/L/N, do you take Thor to be-" A loud crash boomed through the hall as the doors burst open, revealing Volstagg, the boisterous redhead of the Three Warriors.

"My King!" he bellowed. "There is trouble at the dungeons!"

The crowd took off with a scream, as Thor practically tore you threw the doors on a sprinting course to the dungeons.

Prepared for this, you ripped your hands from Thor's, him summoning Mjรถlnir and you taking a sword from one of the guards, using it to cut off some of the bottom of your wedding dress, until it was only to your knees.

"You know, it looks better like that-"

"Shut up and run, Thor!" you interrupted with as much teasing as you could muster, beginning to sprint for the dungeons. You saw Loki out of his cell, and turned to Thor, hugging him goodbye.

"Thank you so much," you whispered, tears in your eyes.

"Of course," he replied, giving you a friendly kiss on the cheek, like a brother. "Plus, this situation benefits me as well."

"Good luck with Jane!" you called over your shoulder as ran run for Loki.

Loki wrapped his arm around your waist, and looked deep into your e/c eyes. His gaze flickered to your lips.

"You look beautiful," he whispered directly in your ear, as you pretended to struggle once you heard rushing footsteps.

"Escape first, catch up later!" you ordered as the guards skidded around the corner, though your heart had skipped several beats.

Thor was just behind them, yelling your name and playing his part to perfection.

"Thor!" you screamed back. Loki tightened his grip as he brought the stolen Tesseract from behind his back. He clutched it and swirls of colour overwhelmed you as you travelled far, far from Asgard.
