Allison had been heading into detention before a pair of hands caught her, pulling her behind one of the book shelves. She sighed when her heart rate went back to normal, almost laughing. "You've gotta stop doing that to me."

"How else am I suppose to get your attention if I can't talk to you?" Simon hummed, looking at her. Allison was leaned against the book shelf, his hands on her waist, her eyes darted around to make sure no one had been close by.

"You can talk to me." she said back with a shake of her head. "We just can't do this."

She leaned in, pressing a kiss to his lips before pulling back. Simon cracked a half grin, nodding his head. "You didn't talk to your parents?"

"I know what they're gonna say." she sighed, shaking her head knowingly. "No boyfriends until i'm old enough to make my old decisions. But, i'll be eighteen in September, then it will be out of their control."

"You know-" he leaned in to whisper. "I don't think Jesus and Virgin Mary are gonna care what we're doing."

Allison grinned slightly, shaking
her head as her eyes casted down slightly. "Unless you have them on speed dial, my parents will never change."

"Okay, i'll make sure to track them down." he hummed, nodding his head. "Then i'll let your mom and dad have a very serious conversation with them."

"Sounds like a plan." she grinned, leaning in again to accept another kiss before they both stumbled slightly, backing up behind the book shelves again, giving a panic look before laughing.

"Ms.Ziya, please tell me what you're doing." Ms.Avery sighed in disbelief as she walked into detention, seeing Allison with safety goggles on and seemed to be participating in a science project.

Allison looked at her through her goggles. "We're suppose to do homework, aren't we?"

"Yes, this is your homework?" she gave her a questionable look.

"AP Chemistry, ma'am." Allison nodded, mixing two liquids together. "I've got goggles for the rest of you if safety is a concern."

"I'm sorry." Simon turned around to look at her. "You want us to put safety goggles on?"

"Well, that's kinda why I took the table alone, to avoid it." Allison said back, raising her eyebrows. "Then you decide to sit down infront of me."

"Congratulations, you're the only six students in this entire school who can still get detention every day this year." Ms.Avery stood at the front of the class, looking at the six around her. "My experience is students that get detention on the first day of school end up here a lot. So, we might as well get to know each other. I want you to write an essay introducing yourselves and reflecting on what you did to get here. There will be no talking, no passing notes, no doodling, and no more AP Chemistry homework."

Allison gave her a pleading look, Ms.Avery shook her head. "Move it to the back table, please."

Allison sighed, her face flushed, getting to her seat. She gave Nate a small smile as she set the project down on the table across from him, holding out a pair of goggles as he gave an odd look. "Incase it decided to explode back here."

"Oh, comforting." he hummed, taking the goggles as she walked back to her seat, forgetting she had her own on. Simon pulled her chair out more for her to sit down.

"Ms.Avery? I know you didn't believe me in class but that phone you found wasn't mine, so I technically don't belong here." Bronwyn spoke up from behind Allison and Simon.

He turned back to look at her. "Oh, no, Bronwyn would never intentionally break the rules."

"No, I wouldn't." she mocked him, reaching into her bag. "And I didn't. See, my phones right here."

"Did you seriously bring another phone into detention? Hand it over." Ms.Avery walked over to her in disbelief.

"I'm sorry, but doesn't the fact that you confiscating my phone, twice, seem weird to you?" Bronwyn looked up at her in questioning. Allison looked back, watching through her goggles. "I mean, why would anyone have two phone?"

Simon grinned, raising two fingers. "I can of a few reasons."

Allison rolled her eyes slightly as Simon went on. "What about you, Nathan?"

"I thought it was Nathanial?" Allison whispered.

"What's your problem, man?" Nate shook his head slightly toward Simon.

"With you? Oh, I think you know." Simon hummed his way, Allison rose her eyebrows quickly.

"Enough." Ms.Avery cut in. "Papers and pens out."

Simon turned back around as Allison pulled her pen and paper out. He reached over and pulled her goggles off. "You gonna wear these all of detention, Bill Nye?"

"Oh." Allison blinked, taking them, giving an embarrassed smile. "Forgot I had them on."

"If i'm gonna stay here, unfairly, could I at least use my computer? I try to avoid paper for environmental reasons." Bronwyn looked up at Ms.Avery again.

"Oh, well I try to avoid devices that connect to the internet for making sure that you actually do your work reasons." the older woman matched her tone down to her.

"But, I-" Bronwyn began again.

"Another word and you'll have detention again tomorrow." Ms.Avery warned her, shutting her up quickly. "And I don't think either of us really wants that, do you?"

"Ms.Avery, what if my Chemistry project blows up? Nate could press charges on me and i'm not prepared to face jail time." Allison gave a pleading look her way.

"Oh, don't worry." Simon shook his head, making sure to talk loud enough for everyone to hear. "I don't think any court will believe Nathanial Macauley over Allison Ziya."

"Quiet." Ms.Avery said, Simon rose his hand this time. "How are there more questions, Simon? This is a very simple assignment."

"I just need to to get my water from my locker." he nodded his head, standing up.

"No, you can go forty-five minutes without water." Ms.Avery shook her head to avoid him going anywhere.

"Well, actually, no, I can't." he gave her a minor smile, standing before all the desk. "I have xerostomia. It's a medical condition when my salivary glands underperform."

"Dry mouth." Allison nodded her head with a smile Ms.Avery's way.

"Yeah, I know what dry mouth is." she waved her off, making Allison's face fall again. "You may get a cup of water from the water cooler."

"The cups have-" Bronwyn began.

"And no, I don't care that the cups are made out of paper." the blonde teacher cut her off with a serious look. Allison watched Simon grab a cup, filling it up. "What I do care about is that everybody is quiet and doing their work. It's a 1,000 words so I recommend that you start now."

Allison jumped as a bang hit the window, seeing the egg yolks splattered across it. She looked back at Bronwyn. "I hope you don't care about unborn chickens as much as you care about paper cups."

"Oh, shit." Simon laughed slightly as he looked out the window.

"Okay, I wanna see real progress on these essays by the time I get back." Ms.Avery spoke as she hurried out of the library, leaving them alone. Allison waited until she heard the door, standing up to head to the back of the tables. She pulled her goggles back on, tripling on one of the chair legs in the process, but heading to the back.

The remaining four walked toward the window with Simon, looking out at the field. "Those are the Laguna guys, right?"

Simon walked back to the table, leaning on it as Allison mixed the chemicals together from the back. "Addy, do you, uh, recognize any of those asses?"

Allison looked up oddly as the blonde spun around. "What's that suppose to mean?"

"It just means that you have sex with jocks, so, you knew, I thought you might have seen 'em naked." he said in return, shrugging innocently.

"Hey, Bronwyn, you did chemistry last year, didn't you?" Allison asked, carrying her project toward her original space, next to Simon.

"She sure did." he hummed, holding his cup in his hands.

"Your obsession with other peoples sex lives is seriously pathetic." Addy said to Simon with a judgmental look in her eye.

He chucked slightly as Allison got behind him, securing a pair of goggles on his face. "This might explode in a sec."

Simon chuckled, looking toward the remaining four at the window. "What about you, Coop?"

"What about me, Simon?" he gave him a annoyed look.

The dark haired boy rose his eyebrows. "Just from the locker room."

"I don't spend my time in the locker room staring at other guys asses." Cooper said back with, like Addy, a judging look his way.

The honking from outside had everyone looking out the window again. Allison frowned in disbelief. "It didn't work."

He looked over, seeing her frowning at the project. Simon pulled his goggles off. "Aw, don't be so sad. You know, I took chemistry last year and you can take my project notes. I keep all my textbooks."

Allison was taken off guard when he leaned over and peaked her on the cheek quickly, when everyone else wasn't looking. She peeled her goggles off to join his on the table. Simon looked toward the window again. "And of course they got away. You know, nobody at this school would get called out for anything if it weren't for me."

Everyone turned back to look at him. Addy rolled her eyes. "Why do you care what happens to them?"

"Well, it's not about them." Simon looked slightly offended, his tone dropping. "It's about the principle of the thing."

"The principle." Bronwyn repeated in disbelief.

"There's so many privileged assholes in this school who just think they can get away with anything because, what, rules don't apply to them?" Simon spoke, a cough leaving his lips. "It's bullshit."

Allison hit her head in the table, abandoning her project as she brought it back toward the back table again. She paused when Simon continued to cough. "This taste weird."

Allison looked back, frozen in place as she held her project. He coughed again, harder, more violent. Allison's heart sunk, eyes widening. "Simon, are you all right?"

He coughed again, clutching his throat and trying to gasp for a breath. Allison's project fell, bursting at her feet as she hurried over to his side. "I need my pen. I need my pen."

"What's wrong with him?" Addy gapped.

"Where's it at? Right-" Allison began, trying to find the EpiPen before Simon fell onto the ground. "Oh my god."

"I'm calling 911." Bronwyn hurried toward the box of phones.

"What pen, Simon?" Cooper grabbed the bag as Allison kneeled down next to him, trying to clear his air way.

"It's an Epipen." she looked his way quickly.

"What does it look like?" Cooper asked again, dumping the bag upside down.

"You don't know what a fucking EpiPen looks like?" Nate asked in disbelief.

"Hey, hey." Allison tried to hold Simons face, he was turning purple and gasping for a breath. "It's gonna be okay, it's gonna be- where the hell is it?"

"We're looking." Nate said quickly, looking toward Addy, who just stood there staring. "Hey. You wanna help?"

"Bronwyn!" Allison cried out as she hurried over. "Are they coming?"

"They're on their way." She nodded, hurrying over with them.

"It's not here." Nate sighed as he looked to Cooper. "Go to the nurses office, see if she has EpiPens, okay?"

Cooper took off quickly. Allison shook her head, leaning over Simon as she cradled his face. "It's gonna be okay. They're on their way, okay?"

"An ambulance is on its way." Bronwyn promised him as well. "Addy, can you do something? Come help!"

"How far are they?" Allison looked in a panic, holding onto his pulse. "Oh my god, you're gonna have to call them again."

"Just breath. Just stay calm." Nate spoke to Simon, though it seemed to be directed toward Allison as well. Simons hand gripped onto her green cardigan, grunting when he couldn't inhale.

Cooper ran back in. "The nurse wasn't there, and the box was empty."

"Damn it." Allison shook her head, her eyes filled up with tears. When she looked down, they fell onto his face. Her heart nearly stopped. "He's not breathing! He's not breathing!"

"Can you to check if the paramedics are here?" Bronwyn asked quickly as Allison blew three breaths into Simons mouth, Nate preforming compressions as soon as she came up.

"Simon, Simon please." Allison cried as she rubbed his face, so lifeless and still. "Should I-"

"Yes, yeah, go again." Nate spoke quickly as she leaned down, blowing into his mouth while punching his nose. The gurney burst through the doors, hurrying over. Allison looked up quickly. She held onto Simons hand tightly as one of the paramedics leaned down and shot an EpiPen into his thigh. They got an oxygen mask on him, lifting him onto the gurney. Allison gripped onto his hand.

"You have to stay back." the paramedic spoke.

"I can't go with him?" Allison gapped in disbelief, tears falling down her cheeks as they wheeled him off quickly, leaving the five. She shook her head, whipping her face before feeling a hand on her back.

"I'll drive you home." Cooper said as Allison nodded, trying to contain her cries, but panic was setting in and her eyes were welling up fast.
