"Molly, you were such a badass." Chase gasped as he complimented Molly's powers.

"So were you." Molly smiled.

The gang had stopped by Timely Coffee to have a break, and you were outside, getting some fresh air. Molly woke up earlier than you since you woke up a minute ago. Because you rushed out, the others weren't able to question you about your powers yet.

Nico and Karolina were conversing, with Nico tucking a piece of Karolina's hair behind her ear as they spoke. "I still can't get over those lights!" Nico whispered gleefully to Karolina.

"And your staff!" Karolina beamed.

You looked at the team through the door before shaking your head and kicking a stray rock away. You were clinging to Alex's jacket, waiting for him to come back so that you could return it to him.

Before you could turn around to get back inside the coffee shop, you stopped when you saw Alex approaching by. Alex took a breath of relief. "I was going to sneak behind your back again."

You let out a breathy chuckle before giving him his jacket back. "This is yours." You looked away.

Alex was taken aback. He was stunned by the fact that you had returned to being shy and soft-spoken around him. It was completely different from what he had witnessed earlier.

"The party isn't over yet, mister."

"You try to shoot us with that petty gun of yours again, and I'll split that skull of yours? Got it?"

Alex shook his head and pushed your hand towards you. "Keep it. You can return it to me tomorrow. You're not wearing your hoodie right now, and it's cold." He patted your head and entered the cafeteria. You hesitated for a moment before wearing the surprisingly big jacket for you.

You entered the cafeteria as well, taking a big breath of nervousness and unwittingly absorbing Alex's scent from his jacket. You sat quietly alongside Nico, attempting to avoid drawing attention to yourself. Nico didn't seem to mind that you were wearing Alex's jacket and shrugged it off.

You expected her to at least attack you for wearing her possible boyfriend's jacket.

"Guys, we have a problem," Alex announced in a whisper.

"What are you talking about?" Nico asked. "We got your back."

"Yes, and now we have to save someone else," Alex replied. "His name's Andre. He was with the men who kidnapped me."

"So why would we help him?" Chase questioned.

"He was just following orders."

"Isn't that what the Nazis said?" Gert retorted.

Alex sighed. "He's the same age as us, and I think our parents are about to do to him what they did to Destiny. Okay? We have to stop them."

"Are you nuts?" Chase hissed. "We almost got shot back there, and now you want us to risk our lives for some guy that we don't even know?"

"Do we even have a plan?" Karolina asked.

"The plan is making sure no more kids die."

'Looks like your little boyfriend wants to become a superhero, huh?' You rolled your eyes, becoming increasingly irritated by the voice within your head. Because they share the same voice like yours, you can't identify which ones are your true thoughts and which ones are the voice that keeps talking to you.

"Alex, we need to take a beat here, okay?" Gert told Alex. "Many of us just exhibited superhuman abilities after learning that there may be a Chinatown-level conspiracy run by our parents. My head is exploding."

You let out a short snort when you found Molly asleep in her chair, causing Gert to tap Molly's thigh to wake her up. "Molly, how can you take a nap right now?"

Molly gave her sister a slight glare. "You try lifting an SUV with your bare hands." She grumbled. "It's exhausting!"

Gert motioned her head to you. "(Y/n) seems fine after using her powers." And just on cue, you covered your mouth to let out a long yawn. Molly frowned. "She hasn't been doing so well lately, Gert."

You shrugged. "I'm used to it." You replied with one wave of your hand.

"At least you guys finally got to see what I can do. Even (Y/n)." Molly told her friends. "I've been trying to tell you guys about my powers for forever."

"Yes, Mol, we finally believe you, but..." Alex was interrupted by Molly. "Oh, and speaking of superpowers? Gert has a dinosaur that she can order around. (Y/n) and I saw it."

Alex blinked in surprise and turned his body properly to face Gert, and the other looked at her as well in shock. "Are you serious? What?" Nico gasped. Molly nodded. "It's insane."

"And kind of awesome," Chase commented, who knew it first before you and Molly.

"You never said anything about Gert having a dinosaur," Karolina told Chase.

Chase shrugged. "I kept quiet about your lights."

Karolina thought for a moment. "Okay, yeah, I probably should've told you guys, but I was just worried you'd think I was a freak."

Nico nudged Karolina. "I think we're all scoring pretty high on the freak-o-meter tonight." Karolina patted Nico's shoulder as Nico continued talking. "My family heirloom is a magic staff-slash-wand."

You looked down at your hands before looking at your cracked pendant. 'This necklace could possibly be an heirloom... and now, it's all cracked.' You said in your thoughts.

"No matter what we are, Alex is right," Nico told everyone. "We can't let out parents keep getting away with this stuff. We weren't able to save Destiny."

"Maybe we can save Andre." Alex finished. "I mean, we have to at least try."

You and the others returned to Alex's house to try to prevent the sacrifice of Andre by everyone's parents. The seven of you crept into Geoffrey's office in silence. Alex tried to open the secret passageway's door by turning the trigger. "Coasters don't work anymore." Alex turned his looks to Molly, who was just beside you. "I got it." Molly grinned.

Molly took a deep breath, and her eyes went orange, signaling the start of her powers. She opened the door with ease, allowing you and the others to enter the hidden basement. The seven of you dashed down the stairs and raced towards the ceremonial location, only to discover it was deserted.

"I don't get it. Where are they?" Gert asked in confusion. Alex and Nico glanced at each other. "Maybe we just beat them here," Molly suggested.

"My dad got a huge head start," Alex stated.

"Then maybe they took Andre somewhere else." You deduced. "They probably had to hurry and had no time to prepare here."

"Which means he's probably dead," Chase told Alex.

Alex clenched his fists in anger and slammed against a pillar, making you jump in surprise. "Goddamn it!" Alex yelled in frustration earning another flinch from you. You watched as Nico followed Alex out, leaving you with the others.

You hesitated to follow the two, and you tapped your foot. 'Don't do it.' You shook your head. 'No, of course, I won't follow them. Let them have their thing.'

'But you're jealous.'

'Why would I be jealous? There's nothing to be jealous of.'

'You know, just your adoptive older sister hanging out with the boy you have a crush on.'

'Shut up. I don't like him.'

Karolina noticed you were zoning out, so she stood beside you and placed her hand on your shoulder. "Hey..."

"Oh, Karolina." You gasped. "We should leave. I think we overstayed our welcome here."

Chase shook his head. "Or we can investigate more in this room." He walked down the stairs, followed by Gert and Molly. Karolina gave you a comforting smile and walked beside you.

You followed Chase inside the library of the sacrificial room and wandered around. You weren't a bookworm and didn't care for large libraries, yet there were times when you were awestruck. The secret library wasn't particularly large, but there was a book you'd been looking for for a long time that you discovered on one of the shelves. As you took it out and looked at the cover page, your eyes glinted with delight. You were perplexed as to why the book was at the place where they held their sacrifices.

"Uh, guys?" When you heard Chase, you turned around. You, Molly, Karolina, and Gert approached Chase, who was pointing at a camera, which was hidden between the books, with his finger. "There's a hidden camera here."

Karolina looked at you. "We have to tell Alex and Nico." You tried to protest, but she was already dragging you along with her. "Can't we just wait for them, K?"

Karolina snickered. "K?"

You facepalmed mentally. "I'm really trying here, Karolina. I'm bad at nicknames, so I'll stop."

Karolina shook her head. "No, no, it's fine. I like the nickname." She slightly nudged you as you both chuckled. "You're feeling shy and awkward, and I get it. But I'm quite surprised you could quickly change your attitude and mood that fast."

You tilted your head in surprise as you and Karolina walked towards Alex's room. "How do you mean?"

"One moment, you're sweet, shy, and soft-spoken. Then later, you're scary, intimidating, and badass."

You stopped yourself from opening Alex's door when you heard Karolina's statement. "You think I'm badass?"

Karolina nodded and grinned. "Oh, for sure. I know we didn't really discuss your powers earlier, but you were really cool out there. Cool but scary."

Your face reddened as a result of her comment before realizing the door had already been opened. When you turned your head to Alex's room, you saw Nico on top of him, making out with him, and your mouth gaped. Karolina appeared to be baffled as well. Karolina, unbeknownst to you, was experiencing the same emotions as you. "Guys?" Karolina spoke up, causing Alex and Nico to break their intimate kiss.

Karolina gestured her hand. "Chase found a hidden camera in the library." Karolina cleared her throat. "We need you down there."

Alex swiftly grabbed his laptop, and you stepped away, avoiding Nico and Alex's eyes. Alex walked past you, followed by Nico, who happened to walk past Karolina, who was in pain. You put your emotions aside and focused on the tall blonde's pained expression. "Are you okay?"

Karolina nodded, wrapping one arm around your shoulders. "Yeah, yeah. Come on."

You gave one more glimpse at Alex's room before shaking your head and walking back to the library with Karolina.
