Β  Β Β  "WILLA IS PREGNANT!" Ian blurted out, his heart pounding loudly against his chest as he looked at his mother, her reaction breaking his heart even more. He sniffled, avoiding eye contact as he slowly walked over to the chair beside him and sat down. He brought his trembling hands towards his face with a shaky sigh.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor's mouth was gaped open, dropping the spatula as she repeated his words into her mind like a mantra. Willa is pregnant, she thought. A frown etched onto her features, watching her son sitting down on a chair, his shoulders hunched. She looked back at her food tray before drying her hands with a towel, her shaky hands wiping away the dirt carved into her skin.

Β  Β Β  She leaned her back against the kitchen counter, her gaze on Ian as she thought of her next words. Bringing a hand towards her face, she rested her fingers on her lips with a stressed look on her face. Eleanor was at loss for words. She had no idea how to react and she wanted to yell, but she was unable to let out a sound, being too dumbstruck by the unexpected.

Β  Β Β  But as she watched him for a few moments, her eyes softened. Eleanor was never the type to raise her voice, and she rarely got mad, but she was more worried for her husband. Her heart soared inside her chest, sauntering towards him with a pained expression on her face. Crunching down at his level, she placed gentle hands on his arm, carefully rubbing his cold skin.

Β  Β Β  Ian's chin trembled, biting his lower lip as he prevented himself to cry. He felt his mother's touch and almost melted, feeling her loving touches against his skin. Eleanor took both of his hands away from his face, her eyes welling up with tears once she noticed a few tear stains on his handsome face. "Oh, Adrian."

Β  Β Β  Whimpers escaped his lips and his shoulders started to shake, his eyes bleeding with pain as he broke down. His mother pulled him into her embrace, holding him tight. He sobbed into her neck, his hands finding their way to her neck. He mumbled incoherent things and choked on his sobs, making Eleanor sigh, her eyes stinging with hot tears threatening to fall.

Β  Β Β  She whispered sweet nothings inside his ear and rocked him back and forth till his crying stopped. She kissed his head, prepping small kisses on his hair while massaging his neck. Ian's heavy breathing ceased and he closed his eyes for a moment.

Listening to his mother's soothing words made him feel better for a second, but once his thoughts whirled like haywire, his emotions hit him like a tidal wave.

Β  Β Β  Ian pulled away from her embrace, sniffling, and looked at his mother with a scowl. He wiped his face with his hand and sighed, "I-I never meant it to happen, mom." he croaked out, his voice cracking at the end.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor put a hand over his cheek, "It's okay, darling. We'll figure it out." she comforted, giving him a supporting smile. Ian frowned, giving his mother a confused look. "So, you're not mad?" he pondered, his dull eyes staring into hers.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor lightly scoffed, "Oh, no, I'm furious, Adrian." she said with honesty, her firm look making Ian's shoulder drop. He looked down at his lap, fiddling with his fingers. He let out a defeated sigh, bringing both of his hands on his face, rubbing his glistening face as his thought wander endlessly.

Β  Β Β  A moment of silence engulfed the pair. Ian closed his eyes, clutching his aching chest with a small hiss. He clenched his jaw and let out another shaky sigh. His stomach churned with worry as he thought of his girlfriend. He spend the night at hers when she told him the news, not wanting to leave her. They spend the entire night wrapped in other arms talking about their future and having sweet talks about their unborn child. But other than feeling ecstatic and emotional over the pregnancy, he was terrified. He wondered if he was able to be a parent at the same time following his dreams.

Β  Β Β  "How are we gonna do this? You've already moved to Korea and planning your future," Willa broke the silence, her soft voice filling the room. She had her head on his chest, her fingers tiredly fiddling with the zipper of his sweater.

Β  Β Β  Ian hummed, a frown plastered onto his face. He looked down, running his hand on her soft skin, making shivers down her spine. He paused, taking in her question with a thoughtful look on his face. She was right, though. Was he capable of being a father while becoming an aspiring rapper? What will the child bring to them?

Β  Β Β  He shook his head at the last thought, feeling guilt wash over him. Ian let out a sigh, "I don't know, Wills." he admitted, looking at the ceiling with a vacant look.

Β  Β  Ian snapped out of his head, grimacing at the thoughts corrupting his brain. He lifted his head, his gaze darting across the room before pausing, noticing his little sister awkwardly standing by the door. He cleared his throat, wiping his tears making Eleanor stand up from her position. She gave her a sweet smile, "Riles, sweetheart. Do you need anything?" she said in a soft tone as she walked over to the counter to clean up.

Β  Β Β  Riley carefully shook her head, walking over to her mother and helping her set up the table. She bit her lip, looking over her shoulder to take a look at her brother with confusion painting on her face. She leaned closer to her mother, "Is he alright?" she whispered, a slight concern filling inside her chest as she looked back at him, watching him nervously playing with the hem of his sweater.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor sighed, debating her answer. She looked back at her son, her frown deepening, and looked back at her daughter, giving her a tip-lipped smile. She placed a hand on her shoulder, giving it a small squeeze before inching closer to her, "I'll tell you later, dear. It's dinner soon. Could you get Jeremy down?" she kindly asked, dropping her hand as she started to walk over to her son.

Β  Β Β  Riley nodded with a frown. She titled her head to the side, curiosity eating her brain as she watched her brother fall apart, something she's not used to. She shrugged and walked towards the entrance, but stopped to look at them one last time.

With a long dramatic sigh, she turned her body around, making a hmph sound when her face collided with a hard chest. She groaned, rubbing her nose before giving her father a look of annoyance.

William let out a deep chuckle, ruffling her head and kissing her cheek, "Sorry about that, pumpkin." he said with a smile before entering the glorious kitchen.

Β  Β Β  Ian chugged down his glass of water, the cold liquid entering his throat. He wiped his mouth with his hand and put the glass down. Eleanor rubbed his back, squeezing his hand for comfort as she studied him. She let out another sigh, "You feeling better?"

Β  Β Β  He nodded, giving her a small smile. She mirrored his smile, bringing him to her side with his head resting on her stomach. He clenched his jaw, the headache piercing through his skull. Before he could let another word, his father entered the room with a stoic look etched onto his face. "What's going on here?"

Β  Β Β  Ian gulped, his wide eyes gazing at his father. William had his arms crossed in front of his chest, looking at the pair with confusion but also a tint of worry painted into his eyes. Eleanor jumped, her grip on her son tightening before loosening. She gave him a fake smile, walking over to her husband to greet him with a kiss.

Β  Β Β  "William, darling..Y-You're home." she expressed, her stuttering making her curse internally. She kissed his cheek, gently rubbing his chiseled jaw. He turned his head to her, his gaze lovingly on his wife, but faltering when he looked back at his son.

Β  Β Β  The familiar blazing of pain prickled inside his chest, making him anxiously bite his lips as he watched his father standing in front of him, his eyes holding concern and confusion. "You alright, son?" he calmly asked, inching closer making Ian step back.

Β  Β Β  Willian frowned, looking at him with a hurt expression. Ian sniffled, touching his aching chest with teary eyes. He winced, feeling his heartbeat increase. He looked back up, giving his father an apologetic look, "I'm sorry, dad." he let out, his croaky voice filling the room.

Β  Β Β  His father gave Eleanor a confused look, his eyebrows knitted with worry as he studied her face. She sighed, giving him a teary smile before inching closer with a hand on his back, "Willow is pregnant." she said with slight hesitation, her voice getting smaller. Her shoulders ceased with tension, but her heart was still bleeding for her son, anticipated for her husband's reaction.

Β  Β Β  William's eyes widened, a glare glowering on his face as his mind went into a shock. He stared into the distance, the news making him completely numb to react or say anything. Ian gave his mother a look of disbelief, his scowl deepening as he watched his father with uneasy eyes. He took cautious steps towards him, his heart clenching.

Β  Β Β  Ian licked his lips, blinking vigorously while tucking away his hair away from his face, unsure of what to do. Eleanor watched him with careful eyes, her eyes studying his every move. Ian's breath hitched, watching his back turning and walking over the liquid cupboard.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor's heart dropped, looking at her husband with a disapproving look. She looked at Ian, her soft eyes gazing on him before looking at William, who had a death grip on his glass. She narrowed her eyes, noticing his hands twitching.

Β  Β Β  It was dead silence. No one dared to let out a word, especially Ian. Even though his back was facing him, he could feel his disappointment piercing his gut like he was stabbed numerous times. His hands were sweaty and his throat was burning, feeling his flushing face flaming his skin, completely draining the color on his face.

Β  Β Β  Before his brain could register the sound of breaking glass, he flinched at the blaring sound of demolished glass hitting the floor. He was glued to his spot, the buzzing in his brain increasing with every breath he took. He didn't notice her mother yelling at him, her voice spitting with venom at his unspeakable actions. He let his blurry eyes gaze down the floor, his heart nearing his throat making him gasp for air.

Β  Β Β  "William!" Eleanor gasped in surprise, a hand covering her mouth before walking over to him, anger burning inside her chest. "Are you out of your mind?! Did y-y-you just-" she choked on her words, tears welling up in her eyes as she looked at him with furious eyes.

Β  Β Β  William's stolid expression made him snap out of it. He blinked, looking at the smudged glass smeared over the floor. He closed his eyes, aggressively rubbing a hand over his face as the guilt engulfed him. His heart pounded loudly against his chest, his actions taking a toll on him as well. He was never the one who let his anger get to him, but seeing how he reacted he thought otherwise. He let out a gasp, stepping back as his mind swirled with thoughts.

Β  Β Β  Blocking out his wife's voice, he walked over to his son with teary eyes. Ian was still frozen to his spot, his body going through a shock. William choked on his sobs, "Oh, son. I-I'm so sorry." he apologized, inching closer to him. Guilt and regret prickled at his chest, making his tears flow like a waterfall. He cupped his face with his hands, his rough hands caressing his soft skin.

Β  Β Β  Ian closed his eyes, feeling his father's warm touch. Goosebumps formed his skin, making him shiver as a rush of coldness washed over him. His mind was still recovering everything. From Willa telling him the unexpected news to his mother's reaction, and now his father's response to the news. He was definitely expecting that because he wanted to do the same. He knew his intentions, and he understood his frustration. What will people think once the news gets out that William's son is gonna be a teen father? he thought.

Β  Β Β  "Hey, Adrian." William's voice pulled him out of his melancholia, bringing him back to the present. He opened his eyes, his breathing ceasing back to normal at his soft eyes. A great tremor overtook him, his father's reassurance breaking down his walls. He couldn't hold it anymore. His lips quivered like a child as his emotions poured out.

Β  Β Β  Ian cried and collapsed into his father's chest. William sniffled, taking his son closer to his body as he wrapped a tight grip on him. Gut-wrenching sobs emitted from his throat, making Eleanor sigh and walk over to the duo. She joined their embrace, holding her son tightly.

Β  Β Β  "It's gonna be okay, sweetheart. We got you." His parents' voice filled his ears, making him cry harder. He cried for everything. He cried for his girlfriend, his future, for his parents, and for the unborn child. He felt hopeless and lost. The overwhelming emotions hit him like a second wave, knocking him down the bottom.

Β  Β Β  After a few moments, his crying stopped only replaced with his soft whimpers and hiccups. He pulled away from their hug and wiped his tears. He sheepishly looked down at his feet, feeling embarrassed of showing his vulnerable side. His glassy eyes stared up at his parents, the heavy cloud inside his chest loosen making him exhale.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor leaned closer, kissing his forehead. "You're gonna be just fine, love. It's alright. Don't blame this on yourself." she reassured, her comforting smile warming his heart.

Β  Β Β  William nodded his head, "She's right. We'll figure this out together. I'm very sorry, Adrian." he said, he said in his usual gentle tone. He held his wife closer to his side as he looked at his son with a guilty look.

Β  Β Β  Ian sniffled, wiping his eyes "You're cool, dad. Seriously, I deserved that." he admitted with a dry chuckle and awkwardly looked at his parents. William patted his shoulder, giving it a little massage before walking over to one of the cupboards to grab a broom.

Β  Β Β  Eleanor stayed by his side, rubbing his back as she wiped his tears. He'll be okay. With the support of his family, things will turn out all right and he would figure his shit out. He let out another long exhale, feeling his body release the tension on his shoulders. He nodded to himself, reassuring himself that everything will be okay.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

What an emotional roller coaster this chapter has been. I don't think I've cried so much while writing a chapter. I definitely surprised myself with this one.

I hope this was good since every time I read it it turns out different than it is in my head. Ian is a complicated character since he's a type of person who has a hard time expressing himself. He's never been good at showing his vulnerable side and it gets hard when he's put in a situation where his feelings comes bubbling to the surface.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and felt a little bit of a connection to my boy since shit is about to get a lot deeper the next chapters. I'm very excited to show you more of him.
