EPISODE ONE
suzie, do you copy?

NOVA WAS glad it was summer break, and dustin was also finally coming home from summer camp! so far, she had spent the month with the party, and steve occasionally whilst he was working she would come and visit him and robin.

she was excited to see lucas again, the two, naturally, had gotten a lot closer since lucas properly asked her to be his girlfriend. it was after the snowball, and lucas had stupidly said, "so i guess we are girlfriend and boyfriend now, right?"

nova had practically scoffed in his face, "if you want me to be your girlfriend, you're gonna have to do better than that. ask, dumbass." and then, she walked away.

so, the next morning, lucas turned up at nova's house with flowers and m&m's since that was all he could afford, and greeted her with a smile. "hi nov. be my girlfriend now?"

of course, nova rolled her eyes, but a smile broke out onto her face. "obviously." she mocked.

"what are you two up to today?" susan asked as she placed down a plate of pancakes for them, billy was out, probably with a girl or working at the pool and neil was probably getting ready or something.

"um, dustin's coming home from the camp thing, so we're gonna surprise him." max spoke up as she took a sip of her drink, nova nodding with a small smile.

"that sounds like fun. don't be home too late, though, yeah?" susan checked and the two nodded, getting up and saying their goodbyes before heading outside.

"you want billy to take you both?" neil asked, both girls immediately calling out a no! the girls quickly leaving before he could call them back, nova running, more like hopping, out the door whilst tieing her shoelaces, almost falling over, before getting onto her bike.

they arrived at dustin's not long after, nova greeting lucas with a hug and a kiss, before max groaned in disgust and pulled them away, and smiled at eleven who sent her a shy smile.

"he's been calling the supercomm all day." mike groaned as they saw the car pull up.

"quick! hide!" max whisper yelled as they all got into position, and heard dustin and his mother enter the house.

mike tapped eleven, who nodded and made some of dustin's toys move forward towards him, hearing him shriek, he stood up in shock, grabbing the hairspray and running out of his room in fear.

although they couldn't see, they could hear him whispering about him dreaming, and how it wasn't real. mike looked at eleven and nodded, "now." he whispered as she opened her eyes and everything stopped.

as dustin picked up his toys, they snuck up behind him, getting the large banner and holding it up as they blew the party noisemaker.

dustin screamed loudly, turning around and spraying the hair spray at whoever was closest, it unfortunately getting straight into lucas' eye, as the boy screamed his girly scream.

"jesus!" nova yanked lucas out of the way and looked at his eyes in shock, "dustin!" they all yelled as dustin stood with wide eyes.

"shit! shit! don't sneak up on me!"

"am i blind? i'm going blind! help! who's that! he..what is that?!" lucas screamed loudly as he waved his arms around, ending up poking nova in the chest as she widened her eyes, "lucas!" she snapped and he gasped, "oh shit! was that your lady area!?"

she rolled her eyes at him, taking his hand and pulling him into the kitchen, the others going to dustin's room.

"c'mon, let's get this shit out your eyes." lucas hesitantly nodded as she dunked his head under the tap as he screamed, but then quietened down when she rolled her eyes, "so dramatic."

but she winced as he mumbled complaints about how it stung, and rubbed his back, "sorry, lucas. let's just hope you don't go blind." she grinned.

"i can go blind from this?!" he shot his head up, which made the the tap water spray over both of them as she jumped, groaning.

"lucas." she whispered in disbelief, throwing her head back in annoyance. he groaned, putting his head in his hands and putting his head back under the tap water, yelping in pain.

he pulled away after a few moments, "ow, ow." he rubbed his eyes as she frowned, "better?" she asked, he shook his head, opening his eyes.

"it still stings." he complained.

he looked closely at her, and raised his brows, "is that a new zit?" he pointed as her face dropped.

"what is wrong with you?" she gasped in disbelief.

"i was just asking—!" he didn't have time to finish, as she dunked his head under the tap and he screamed loudly again.

after a few moments of him complaining about the pain, max, will, mike, dustin and eleven came rushing out towards the door, "hey? whats going on?" nova called out.

"we're going to talk to dustin's girlfriend!" will grinned in excitement as lucas snapped his head up, and both him and nova turned to each other in shock.

"girlfriend?" they both exclaimed at the same time, before turning the tap of and running out, lucas having to hold her hand and practically drag her out as she was a slow runner.

THE GROUP made their way to a field, all, except mike and eleven, carrying the gear dustin insisted they needed, with a large hill that they had to climb as everyone panted, they weren't even halfway up yet at were already out of breath.

"isn't this high up enough?" lucas asked, breathing heavily. "cerebro works best at a hundred meters!" dustin called out as nova groaned.

"i'm pretty sure people in utah have telephones." nova called out, dustin nodded, "yeah, but suzie's mormon."

"oh, shit! she doesn't have electricity?" lucas gasped, nova rolled her eyes, shaking her head with a chuckle.

"that's the amish." max spoke up.

"what are mormons?" will asked, eleven and mike were much further behind and not paying attention to them.

"super religious white people." dustin told him. "they have electricity and cars and stuff, but... since i'm not mormon, her parents would never approve...it's all a bit...shakespearean."

"shakespearean?" max frowned, amused as dustin grinned, "yeah! like romeo and juliet." dustin nodded.

"cute." nova nodded.

"star crossed lovers." he continued, thinking max didn't know what he meant. "i got it." max nodded.

"hey, guys!" mike yelled, they all turned to them and frowned, "this is fun and all, but..." mike tapped his watch. "i have to go home." eleven spoke softly.

"we're almost there." dustin frowned, pointing to the hill. "sorry, man, curfew...c'mon, let's go." he took elevens hand and they jogged down the hill.

nova shook her head, "curfew at four?" dustin scoffed, "they're lying." lucas shrugged his shoulders with a sigh.

"it's been like this all summer." will told dustin, "it's romantic." max shrugged.

"it's gross." will argued.

"it's bullshit." dustin spoke, nova nodded in agreement.

"yeah, i mean, he just got home...they could've stayed for a bit longer." the group nodded at her words, nova taking lucas's hand as dustin turned to them all.

"well, their loss. onwards and upwards!" dustin grinned and they all sighed, following him up.

"will? you coming?" nova called out, noticing he was stood, frozen. will nodded quickly and rushed up to catch up with them.

they finally made it, and everyone let out pants of relief. "made it!" dustin beamed as they all placed the stuff down.

by now, nova had stolen lucas' cap and put it on her own head, immediately sitting down on the floor, closing her eyes. "yeah, only took fire hours." max huffed.

"why couldn't we just play d&d?" will sighed as nova opened one eye, "i'll play it with you later, will the wise." she promised.

"nova, you don't even know how." he sighed, she shrugged, "i'll learn it."

nova stood up to get a drink, only to find lucas unscrewing the cap and downing the whole bottle as she stared in shock, her jaw dropped. "d...did you seriously just drink all of our water?"

his face dropped as he opened the lid and poured all the water back into it from his mouth, and holding it out for her to take with a wide grin. she stared at him for a few moments before sighing and sitting down.

"nova, get up, girl. we need to build this." dustin told her, it was getting dark and after that hike, nova just wanted to sleep. but, she did as she was told and helped them all build the cerebro, seeing as dustin had just got back she didn't want to ruin his day.

it took around twenty minutes to set everything up, and then they all stood around it as dustin raised his arms up and grinned. "pretty impressive, right?"

"yeah." max nodded, "now, you ready to meet my love?" dustin grinned as he moved over to the walkie.

"okay, sure." max spoke, slightly sarcastic. "yep." will nodded.

"suzie, this is dustin. do you copy? over." dustin spoke with a grin. they waited for a few moments, but there was no answer. nova and max shared a look as dustin looked around awkwardly.

"one sec...she's probably..she's there." he promised as max crossed her arms, sighing. "suzie, this is dustin. do you copy? over:"

the group all shared a look of amusement, and slight annoyance that they walked all the way there, but stayed patient with him. "i'm sure she's there. it's just...you know, maybe she's busy." dustin looked up.

"yeah, totally." lucas nodded understandingly, "isn't it dinner time? she's probably eating." nova spoke with a smile.

the group all nodded slowly, mumbling agreements as dustin went back to the walkie. "suzie, do you copy? this is dustin. over."

dustin continued to try and contact suzie, for literally about three hours, since it had gotten really dark. nova was laying next to lucas, talking quietly to each other every few moments, max was sat up and will was probably thinking about d&d.

"suzie! this is your dustin—" he began once again as max groaned, "dustin, come on! she's not there." she sighed.

"she's there, all right? she'll pick up." dustin spoke in determination.

"maybe cerebro doesn't work." will suggested.

"or maybe suzie doesn't exist." lucas spoke up.

"she exists!" dustin exclaimed, "she's a genius and hotter than phoebe cates? no girl other than nova, is that perfect." lucas waved his arms around.

"dustins obviously lying." max stood up, "c'mon, nov, lucas." she nodded to the two who hesitantly stood up.

"where you going?" dustin asked once both nova and lucas stood up.

"susan wanted us back before dark...sorry. welcome home, we'll see you tomorrow?" nova spoke, bringing the boy in for a hug as he nodded sadly.

"bye, will." she smiled and the three made their way down the hill, running slightly as nova almost tripped, laughing as lucas had to hold onto her to keep her up.
