-𝙸𝚃 𝚆𝙰𝚂 𝙰 𝙵𝚁𝙸𝙳𝙰𝚈 𝙼𝙾𝚁𝙽𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙸𝙽 𝙻𝙾𝚂 𝙰𝙽𝙶𝙴𝙻𝙴𝚂 𝙲𝙰𝙻𝙸𝙵𝙾𝚁𝙽𝙸𝙰. Mordecai was preparing breakfast for him and his little sister. Since they had no parental figure around, they had to manage things on their own. Mordecai drew a medium sized non stick pan from the cabinets. He glazed the pan with vegetable oil. After he let the oil heat up he picked out two fresh eggs from the fridge. As he cracked each egg in the pan, he let them fry as he placed the sweet maple bacon in the oven.

"Mmmmm smells good already."

*LCD alarm clock ringing*

"Ughhhhh"

Lullaby punches the alarm clock across the room. Luckily the ringing stopped but now the clock is broken. As Lullaby rises out of bed she puts her teddy bear slippers on. She heads to the bathroom and checks herself out in the mirror.

"Holy fuck dude.."

Her hair is completely tangled in multiple knots.

"I sure did have a good ass sleep.. Well at least I did."

Lullaby draws the comb from the drawer followed by the detangler labeled Pantene. She sprays her hair with it and begins combing her hair out.

*groans* "I really need my hair done."

Lullaby finally finishes detangling her hair. She begins to pick an outfit that she has in the closet.

"Hmmm are we going for comfy or fashionable today?"

She decides to go for comfy since she's still half asleep. She puts on her oversized blue sweater with grey sweatpants and her moms old uggs. She began to put her hair into two loose braids with a few strands left out to pose as bangs. Lullaby grabs her headphones and heads downstairs to the smell of bacon. She sits down at the table waiting to eat.

"Hey there sleepy head"

"YOU CAN TELL?"

*Mordecai looked puzzled.*

"How would I not be able to tell?"

*Lullaby groans.*

"Where does it show... "

"Well it definitely shows with your outfit choice"

"OKAY GOOD. "

"Good..?"

"I mean yea.. I thought it showed in my face some where.. I can't let people at school see that."

*Mordecai chuckles*

"Hey speaking of school.. Can I skip, I really want to spend time with u"

*Mordecai pauses for a minute as if he's considering let her come with him while he's working.*

*sighs* "Lullaby.. as much as I want you to come with me, I can't risk loosing you. Youre the only person I have left that I truly love mama. "

"Gross.. "

*chuckles* "Well it's true lully"

"What about Paris? Don't you love her?"

"Paris and I are only friends lullaby, nothing more and besides if it came down between the two of you, I'd choose you over anything. Now here, eat up and get ready for school. "

*Mordecai hands lullaby a fresh plate of eggs and bacon.*

"Mmmm it smells good but since you won't let me skip school it's a 7/10."

*Mordecai chuckles*

"Do we still have any ketchup?"

"There should be some in the pantry."

Lullaby walked over to the pantry. She opens the pantry and pulls the bottle of ketchup from under the shelf. She heads back over to the table. She sprays ketchup all over her eggs.

"I still can't believe you find that tasty"

*Lullaby shrugs* "It's actually really good you should try it. "

"I think I'll pass. "

"Mordey, I really want to come with you. You can show me the ropes. I didn't get bit for nothing."

*Mordecai pauses eating seeming rather frustrated*

"Lullaby as much as I want to I cant and you know the reason why."

"Please Mordey. Wouldn't that be so cool? Ya know.. Saving the world with your little sister?"

"No."

"Please I'll be extra careful, being spider woman would sound so much fun."

"You're not responsible enough Lullaby. You're too nonchalant."

"Excuse me? "

"You know it's true. I can already see it happening. Someone will rub you the wrong way and you'll break your cover and use your abilities as an advantage to gain karma. As much as I want to lullaby I just can't trust you with this."

"I know how to control pretty well actual. Just please Mordecai let me com-"

*Mordecai stands up while slamming the fork on the table*

"NO LULLABY. I'M THE ONE WHO'S RESPONSIBLE HERE. I'VE ALREADY TOLD YOU YOU'RE JUST NOT RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH OKAY? JUST LET THE SIBLING SUPERHERO FANTASY GO."

Lullaby's body tenses up. She starts shaking uncontrollably. She's never seen her brother lash out this way before. Tears start to roll from her eyes. Her sniffles become disturbing to hear. The fate of regret fills up Mordecai's face.

*Mordecai sighs*

"I-Im sorry..I just need to keep you safe ok? You have to understand that. Ill make up our quality time to you okay?"

Lullaby stands up wiping the tears from her face. She reaches for her backpack placing it on her back. She locks eye contact with Mordecai while her face was bright cherry red from her tears and anger.

"asshole.. "

Lullaby storms out of the house slamming the door behind her. The strength in her arm left a crack in the walls where the door frame was. She begins crying more with music blasting in her ears.
