"That keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the Russian with this keycard also has a massive gun," Dustin explained to Robin, Steve, and Ivy in the back room of Scoops Ahoy. "Whatever's in this room, whatever's in those boxes, they really don't want anyone finding it."

"But theres gotta be a way in," Robin said.

"Well, you know...I could just take him out," Steve said. Ivy snorted at the idea causing Steve to shoot a glare at her.

"Take who out?" Robin asked.

"The Russian guard. What? I sneak up behind him, I knock him out, and I take his keycard. It's easy."

"Did you not hear the part about the massive gun?" Ivy asked.

"Yes, Ivy, I did. And that's why I would be sneaking."

"Right, of course. How could I be so dumb," Ivy said, sarcastically. "Well, please, tell me this, and be honest, have you ever actually won a fight?"

"Okay, that was one time--" Steve saod.

"Twice. Jonathan. Year prior?" Dustin reminded him.

"Listen, that doesn't count."

"Why wouldn't it? Cause it looks like he beat the shit out of you."

"It was..."

"You came home with a fat lip, crooked nose, swollen eye, a lot of blood," Ivy reminded. Robin started to lose focus in the conversation as she observed the vent above them.

"That just might work," Robin said suddenly.

"What? Robin, where are you going?" Ivy asked as she suddenly got up and walked around towards the counter. Robin grabbed the tips from the jar before taking off.

"Hey, Robin!" Steve called, running after her. "Hey, what -- what are you doing?"

"I need cash."

"Well, part of that is mine and Ivy's. Where're you going?"

"To find a way into that room, a safe way. And, in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don't get beat up. I'll be back in a jiff."

"Oh, dude," Ivy groaned, looking over and seeing Dustin licking the ice cream scoop. Steve snatched it from him.

"Come on, man, not my scooper."

"It is fascinating what 20 bucks will get you at the County Recorder's office," Robin said, laying building plans down on the table. "Starcourt Mall. The complete blueprints."

"Not bad," Dustin smiled.

"So, this is us, Scoops," Robin said, pointing towards a place on the blueprints. "and this is where we wanna get."

"I mean, I don't really see a way in," Steve said.

"There's not, if you're talking exclusively about doors." Robin took the top page off to reveal a second page.

"Air ducts," Ivy said, her finger tracing the pathways.

"Exactly," Robin smiled at her. "Turns out, this secret room needs air like any old room. And these air ducts lead all the way...here."

"Flashlight," Steve requested as he opened the vent. "Yeah, I don't know, man. I don't know if you can fit here. It's, like...super tight."

"I'll fit," Dustin told him. "Trust me. No collar bones, remember?"

"Uh, excuse me?" Robin asked, confused.

"Oh, he's, uh...Yeah, he's got some disease. Chry, uh...It's Chrydo, um... Something. Yeah, I dunno."

"Cleidocranial dysplasia," Ivy said.

"Yeah, that. He's missing bones and stuff. He can bend like Gumbo," Steve continued.

"You mean Gumby," Robin corrected.

"I'm pretty sure it's Gumbo."

"Steve, just shut up and push me!" Dustin shouted. Steve stepped up on the ladder below Dustin and started pushing his feet. "Not my feet, dumbass. Push my ass."

"What?"

"Touch my butt! I don't care! Come on! Push harder!"

"I can't watch this anymore," Ivy sighed.

"Ahoy, sailors! All hands on deck!" Erica shouted from the front counter. "Get over here and serve me some samples.

Erica looked into the vent with suspicion before getting off the later and turning to the 4 teens saying, "Yeah, I don't know."

"You don't know if you can fit?" Ivy asked.

"Oh, I can fit. I just don't know if I want to."

"Are you claustrophobic?" Robin asked.

"I don't have phobias," Erica scoffed.

"Okay, well, what's the problem?" Steve asked.

"The problem is, I still haven't heard what's in this for Erica."

Steve pushed yet another ice cream towards Erica just for her to push it back and say, "More fudge, please. Go on."

"All right," Robin said as Steve walked off. She pulled the blueprints out and held them up for Erica to see. "You see this? This is the route you're going to take. Then we just wait till the last delivery goes out tonight. Then you knock out the grate, jump down, open the door."

"Then you find out what's in those boxes?"

"Exactly."

"And you say this guard is armed."

"Yes, but he won't be there," Dustin assured her.

"And booby traps?" Erica asked.

"Booby traps?" Ivy asked.

"Lasers, spikes in the walls? You know what this half-baked plan of yours sounds like to me?" Erica asked. "Child endangerment."

"We'll be in radio contact with you the entire time--"

"Ah, ah, ah! Child endangerment."

"Erica?" Dustin said. "Hi, uh, we think these Russians want to do harm to our country. Great harm. Don't you love your country?"

"You can't spell 'America' without 'Erica,'" Erica sassed.

"Uh, yeah, yeah. Oddly, that's, uh, totally true. So, don't do this for us. Do it for your country. Do it for your fellow man. Do this for America... Erica."

"Ooh! I just got the chills. Oh, yeah, from this float, not your speech. Know what I love most about this country? Capitalism. Do you know what capitalism is? It means this is a free market system. Which means people get paid for their services, depending on how valuable their contributions are. And it seems to me, my ability to fit into that little vent is very, very valuable to you all. So, you want my help? This USS Butterscotch better be the first of many. And I'm talking free ice cream for life."

"Erica, do you copy?" Robin asked over the radio.

"Mm-hmm. I copy," Erica replied. "You nerds in position or what?"

"Yeah, we're in position," Ivy said, taking the radio from Robin's hand, their finger trips grazing each other. The teens were perched up on the roof while Erica suited up the back room of Scoops. "It's all quiet here, so you've got the green light."

"Green light, roger that. Commence Operation Child Endangerment."

"Can we maybe not call it that?" Robin asked, placing her hand over Ivy's to speak into the radio, both women feeling brief sparks."

"See you on the other side. Nerds."

"She's just a little peach isn't she?" Ivy said sarcastically as she set the radio down.

They all waited as patiently up on the roof when finally, Erica's voice floated throught the radio speakers once again.

"All right, nerds. I'm there," Erica told them.

"Do you see anything?" Ivy asked.

"Yeah, I see those boring boxes you're so excited about."

"Any guards?"

"Negative."

"Booby traps?"

"If I could see them, they'd be pretty shit traps, wouldn't they?" Erica sassed her.

"Thank you for that," Ivy said, rolling her eyes. They heard Erica yell before the sound of metal hitting solid ground came in over the radio.

"I'm in."

"Oh, god," Steve sighed out in relief.

They watched the doors open and Erica walked out and shouted, "Free ice cream for life!"

"Hot damn!" Ivy smiled, rushing to get up from her spot on the roof.

Steve opened one of the boxes just to reveal another box but this one was metal. He twisted the handle, he hesitated when they heard air releasing. Finally he pulled the top off to find more metal twisty handle containers.

"That's definitely not chinese food," Steve said. "Uh, maybe you guys shoulds, you know, stand back." Robin, Erica, and Ivy gladly backed off but Dustin remained glued to Steves side.
"Just step back, okay?"

"No! If you die, I die," Dustin told him.

Steve stared at him for a moment before shrugging, "Okay." Steve twisted the handle of one of the containers and pulled up to reveal its glowing green contents. "What the hell?"

"What is that?" Robin asked.

"Was that just me, or did the room move?" Dustin asked when the room shook.

"Booby traps," Erica whispered.

"You know what? Let's just grab that and go," Ivy said, grabbing the container from Steve and walked over to the control panel and pressed the 'door open' button but it didn't work. "Dustin?" Dustin hurried over and tried to press the button as well but it still didn't work.

"Which one do I press, Erica?" Dustin asked.

"Just press the damn button, nerd," Erica told him.

"Which one? I'm pressing the button, okay?"

"Press 'open door!'"

"I'm pressing 'open door!'"

"Just open the-- press the other button," Steve chimed in. The two argued as Steve pressed every button he could get his hand on. Suddenly, there was a clang. They watched as a door came down and shut them in before the room dropped.

"Why are we going down?" Ivy screamed as she fell back against the boxes.
