Guysss!!!! It's the book finale for The Art Hero! I'm gonna miss it! But we have The Next Hero on its way for its first chapter!

PS: This might be shorter but I'll try to do as I usually do and get it to at least 1K words.

It was finally here! The day before the festival! We were all teeming with excitement. We finished our final rehearsal before Hound Dog came in to tell us to leave. We all walked back to the dorms to get some rest. Some people went to sleep while others hung out in the common room. Mina and I sat on the couch together playing a video game. "Aren't you so excited about the festival?" Mina asks. "Yup! And not just for our class' performance but seeing what everyone else is going to do!" I smile. "I know right! Ochaco and I are sorry that we couldn't help you get ready for the pageant..." She sighs. "It's fine! I know you've been busy trying to teach us the dance so no need to apologize." I say. We all hang out more before going to bed.

It was here, at last, the day of the festival! Most everyone was still asleep so I just sat in the common area and picked up my phone and iPad. I grab my earbuds and plug them into my phone. I play The Last Day of Summer from the Percy Jackson musical and take out my apple pen. I draw for a bit before putting it down and walking up to my room again. I take out my uniform skirt and a pink shirt to put on since I would have to get ready for the pageant and couldn't really be there for my class' performance. It was sad I put in all that practice. I also take out a duffle bag and a dress bag. I look through my closet and find my dress. I slip it into the dress bag and zip it up. After Kaya pestered me to just pick some shoes, I was being very indecisive, I settled on some pink heels that had small bows on them.

I put everything together and put on my pink shirt and school skirt. I decided to do something with my hair so I straightened it! It looked a bit weird without having my curls but I still liked how they looked! Everyone got ready and we all went to the gym to set up. I had stopped by the room where everyone got ready for the pageant and set my stuff in there. Pony was there to help with my makeup and Kaya was there to help me with my outfit situation and my hair since I know basically nothing about how to style my own hair so she said she'd help me. And the only reason I asked Ochaco and Mina was purely because I have no self-confidence when it comes to stuff like this and I wanted to make sure I wouldn't chicken out so they were there to help.

Everyone was ready except for...Deku. He left this morning because we needed some more rope since the one we had was put through some abuse whilst rehearsing. I offered to just make one with my quirk when we needed it but he insisted that he go buy another one. "Ochaco, do you know where Deku is? I thought he'd be back by now." I ask my friend as she walks up to the curtain. "I don't know. But he needs to hurry there's already people starting to come in." She says. "Aren't you all excited!?" Toru chirps. "Yeah! I really like these outfits too!" Mina says walking over. "It's all thanks to Iris-chan! It was her sketch and Ideas that we used for the outfits." Ochaco says. "Oh well, I just thought we'd need some cute outfits for everyone on the dance team." I smile.

"But I mean you were asked to help design the set and help with the decorations and you even helped Class B with their thing too a little. You've got a really great talent! It's amazing!" Jiro says. "I just kinda helped with Class B's set design and some of the costumes. And the ones for us I found the idea from how some K-Pop groups dress so I can't take all the credit!" I said waving her off. "Ugh! I can't get these wrinkles out!" Ochaco says pulling at her skirt. "Isn't heat well for that kinda thing?" I ask. "Yeah, but Todoroki and Momo are busy so I can't ask them for help." She says still trying to get the wrinkles out from her skirt.

"Hmm...Oh yeah! Here I have an idea!" I say bending down to Ochaco's skirt. "I do this whenever Mia's school shirt is wrinkled and we don't have an iron on hand. You just...pull! And there! All I had to do was stretch it up and then down and they're gone!" I smile. I stand up and look down at my phone. It's already 8:51!? Deku better hurry up before it's too late. I say to myself. "Hey, wait a minute! Iris, why aren't you wearing your outfit?" Mina asks pointing to my pink shirt and school skirt. "I can't be there for the performance, sadly, but I'll be able to watch it since Ricky and Mia will be there and Ricky said he'd video it for me on his phone!" I smile. "I guess that practice was for nothing..." Mina sighs. "No I loved it and I learned some new things about dance!" I smile. 

"I can't get over how cute you two are together!" Toru pipes. "Yeah whatever..." Mina and I say waving her off. "Iris and Mina forever!" Ochaco says. "Hey hey! I'm sorry to bother you guys but, Iris, we need to get you ready for the pageant so come on." Pony says knocking on the doorpost. "Ok, yeah! I'll be there in a sec!" I say. "Well do great guys! Break a leg!" I say giving my friends a thumbs up before hugging Mina and leaving. I saw Deku coming in on my way out so that was a good thing and he was just in time too. Everything was going amazing! 

"Hey! I need you to not move unless you want me to burn your face." Kaya says trying to curl my hair. "Sorry! I get jumpy when I'm excited!" I say. "Kaya, have you ever been in a pageant like this or ever wanted to?" I ask my friend trying to think of something else so I would calm down. "I've never been in one but I was thinking about signing up for this one but by the time it came to mind it was already too late to sign up and Kendo was there to rep for Class B and you asked me to help you so I thought I wouldn't." She answers. Everyone in the pageant looked so pretty and elegant I looked a bit odd compared to everyone else. It was probably because I was the only person with a mutation that signed up, yikes!

"Ah-ha! I found it!" Pony says. "Found what?" I ask. "Your mascara! Why did you have it in a separate bag in the bottom of your duffle bag with all your makeup and stuff in it?" Pony asks. "So it won't leak...no one else does that?" I ask. "Hun, I'm pretty sure only you do it. But get it I guess queen!" Kaya says. "Ha! Ok then." I laugh. We finished up and it was time for the pageant. "Don't freeze! And do great out there!" Kaya and Pony say giving me encouraging smiles. "I will!" I say before running out. "From Class 1-A Iris Cotton!" The speaker says as the crowd gives a small cheer. I smile and give a small bow. I had already drawn shapes on my arms before so it'd be easier. I stood on my toes and spun around in a circle. 

The different shapes coming off as I do so and making a pretty scene. I stepped on two and spun in the air as I moved around. I floated back to the ground and gave another bow. The crowd was amazed and cheered. I saw my class in the crowd and Mina with a big smile on her face. I then went back off stage as Nejire went on next. "That. Was. Amazing!" Pony says. "It's was so beautiful! I loved it!" Kaya says. "Thanks! Now I have to get out of these heels! They're cute but not exactly comfy!" I laugh as we all walk back to the Green Room. I put on my pink shirt and uniform skirt again and some tenny shoes. "I think I'll go and help my class with clean up I'll see you guys around!" I say waving to my friends. 

Everyone had an amazing time during the festival and so did I it was amazing! There were some dark times but we've pushed past and made it to the light...I knew that this would be the greatest time of my life!
