3RD PERSON POV:

Lola is in the kitchen making herself a coffee when Damon walks in.

"Morning Damon." Lola says with her back to Damon as she is making her coffee, she turns around and smiles at him.

Damon looks at Lola confused and raises his eyebrow at her.

Lola looks over to Damon with the same expression on her face, "What?"

"Why are you dressed like that?" Damon asks with a raised eyebrow.

Lola frowns and looks down at her outfit then back up at Damon, "What's wrong with it?"

Damon shrugs his shoulders, "Looks like you are about to attend a parent teacher conference. You actually look respectable for once."

Lola scoffs, "Shut up asshole."

Damon laughs, "I'm going to the tomb to see Stefan, you coming?"

Lola shakes her head as she takes a sip of her coffee, "No, I'm meeting Jenna at the Grill."

Damon looks over to Lola with a raised eyebrow again, "Jenna?"

"Did I stutter?" Lola says as she glares at Damon.

Damon raises his hands in surrender, "Less of the attitude, so stab me for being shocked my baby sis is making friends in this town."

Lola rolls her eyes, "She's the only person I can stand to be around at the moment. Plus, she wants me help with something too, god knows what."

Damon smirks and walks over to Lola and snatches her coffee out of her hands, "Well you won't need this then will you. Have fun playing Miss Nice Bitch." Damon then starts to walk out of the kitchen.

Lola glares at Damon and reaches for a fork and throws it at him and it stabs him in the shoulder blade. Damon groans in pain and drops the coffee then looks back over to Lola angry.

Lola smiles innocently and shrugs her shoulders playing dumb, "You said to stab you."

Damon pulls the fork out of his shoulder and glares over to his sister, "What is it with you and forks?"

Lola gives Damon a smug smile and then walks out of the kitchen and makes her way to the Grill.

-----------------------------------

LOLA POV:

I walk into the Grill and look around to find Jenna, I spot her sitting with Ric. Ric mumbles something to Jenna causing her to turn around and smile over to me. I smile back and walk towards their table.

"Lola, hey! You made it." Jenna says standing up from the table and giving me a hug, ew.

Ric moves along in the booth and I take a seat next to him to I'm sat opposite Jenna.

"You said you needed my help with something?" Lola asks with a raised eyebrow.

A waitress comes over and asks for my order, I just order a black coffee considering asshole Damon took the one I made at home.

Jenna laughs, "Yeah, so I was wondering if you had any old family artefacts or anything."

I shrugs my shoulders, "We probably do somewhere in the house, what do you need them for?" I knew we did, Stefan is a hoarder when it comes to 'sentimental family history'.

"So now I'm playing historical society hostess to some writer who's doing his book on small town Virginia." Jenna says taking a sip of her coffee.

Lola purses her lips, "Well that sounds..."

"Lame, yeah, but Carol Lockwood played the "dead husband" card, said she was too busy to deal. Plus, my sister kept most of the archives, so there you have it." Jenna says rolling her eyes.

The waitress comes over with my coffee and I thank her. I look back over to Jenna, "I can have a look for you."

Jenna smiles, "That would be so great, thank you!"

"When do you want them by?" I ask.

"This writer guy is coming round the house later today so by then if that would be at all possible?" Jenna says flashing her puppy dog eyes.

I playfully roll my eyes and laugh, "No worries, I'll pop round later tonight."

Jenna claps, "You are a lifesaver, thank you! I'm going to go and sort through my sister's archives."

Jenna gets up to leave, she walks over to Ric and kisses him goodbye.

"Who's this writer guy?" I ask Ric as he moves over the booth to sit opposite me where Jenna was sitting.

Ric shrugs his shoulders, "No clue, she never mentioned a name. I don't even think she knows yet."

I frown as I start to think, it's a bit odd that some random writer has turned up, the same time that Elijah pops back up again, it's totally something he would do. The big nerd.

Ric lightly kicks my leg under the table to jump me out of my thoughts, I look up to him and he gestures to a table across from us. Caroline is sat there and Tyler walks over and takes a seat.

"Hey." Tyler says as he takes a seat.

"Hey. What's wrong?" Caroline asks.

"This girl Mason knows stopped by the house. She said he never made it back to Florida. My mom is freaking out and she was on the phone with your mom when I left." Tyler says concerned about his uncle.

Ric and I both share a look as we continue to listen in on the conversation.

Tyler has a look at his watch, "We should get going."

"Yeah." Caroline says quietly.

They both get up to walk out, as they walk past Ric and I, Caroline shares a knowing look with me. I nod my head at her and she walks out.

"What do we do?" Ric asks me.

I grab my phone out of my pocket and dial Damon's number, "I'll call Damon."

"What?"

"Well hello to you too, asshole."

"What is it, Lo?"

I sigh, "Sheriff Forbes has officially declared Mason Lockwood a missing person."

"What? Why?"

"Some girl from Florida showed up on the Lockwood's door step looking for Mason."

"What girl?"

"I don't know but she's sure got everyone in a tizzy."

"That's not good. Where are you?"

"I'm still at the Grill, I'm with Ric."

"I'm on my way."

"Damon's on his way." I say to Ric, I look around to try and flag down a waitress, "I need an actual drink for this."

After about 10 minutes, Damon walks in and we all take a seat on a table at a distance from the entrance, looking out for this mysterious wolf girl.

"Any sign of her yet?" Damon asks as he takes a seat next to me.

"Nope." I say popping the P and drinking my bourbon.

We pick up a new voice in the Grill, we look over to see a blonde girl going over to speak to Matt.

"Hey, excuse me. Crazy question: do you know Tyler Lockwood?" She asks.

I hit Damon on his arm, "Oh, here we go."

All three of us are watching this new girl.

"Mmm, Mason's mystery woman." Damon says smirking.

"Where is Mason anyway?" Ric asks.

"Decomposing in his truck." I say trying to hold in my laugh, as does Damon.

"So you think she is a werewolf?" Ric asks us both.

"Well I hope not, being that it's a full moon, Ric, but we should definitely find out." Damon says, he takes a little bag out of his pocket, it's wolfsbane.

Ric looks at the bag confused, "What is that?"

"Wolfsbane." Damon replies.

"Okay, so what's the plan?" I ask them both.

"Damon smiles over to Ric, "Well, we will get the town's drunk to play his natural self."

"Are you serious?" Ric asks raising his eyebrow.

"Yes. You go over to this wolf chick and offer her a drink, I'll come and distract using my usual charms and you spike her drink with wolfsbane. Easy." Damon says smirking.

Ric looks over to me, "What about you?"

"Oh, I'm just going to sit and enjoy watching the plan fail." I say smugly smiling.

Damon rolls his eyes at me, "Shut up, Lola. It won't fail."

I laugh and take another drink, "Whatever you say." I sing out to him.

Ric walks over to the bar where the wolf girl is sitting, pretending to be drunk.

"Well hello. Can I have a scotch and whatever this beautiful woman is drinking." Ric slurs.

Jules laughs slightly, "No, one is my limit."

Ric smiles, "Oh come on, it's not like I'm a freak. I'm just being friendly to somebody who's new to town."

Jules shrugs her shoulders, "Okay, if you insist. How do you know I'm new?"

You can literally see the wheels turning in Ric's head trying to come up with an answer, "Because I've never seen you here before and I am here every night."

I look over to Damon and smirk, "Your turn."

Damon smirks back and makes his way over to the pair at the bar, he stands on the other side of Jules.

"Excuse me, is this guy bothering you?" Damon politely asks.

Ric puts his hands up in surrender, "I'm not bothering anybody."

Damon flashes a smile and then glares at Ric, "Perfect. Well...Do it elsewhere."

Damon looks at Jules and smiles, "Don't worry, he's harmless. He's sort of the town drunk. And you know, when we get tired of him we just put him in a cab and send him back to wherever he came from."

As Damon is speaking to Jules, Ric puts some wolfsbane in her glass.

"Please don't talk about me like I'm not here." Ric says as he passes the wolfsbane cocktail over to Jules.

Damon glares at Ric again, "Why are you here?"

Jules looks at Ric and smiles, "Thank you for the drink."

Ric raises his glass and leaves, he walks back over to the table where I'm sat.

I start to playfully clap as he walks back over, "And the oscar for the worst actor goes to..."

Ric laughs, "I'd like to see you do any better."

"Oh, why would I do that when I could get that shit show for free?" I say smirking.

I down the last of my drink and jump up from my seat, "I'm going to go and find what Jenna needs."

Ric nods, "See you later."

------------------------------------------

I get back to the house and walk into the library and start going through all of our books we kept throughout the years and grabbing ones I think Jenna would find useful.

I feel a new presence in the room, I turn around and see Rose.

I slightly smile, "You've came back."

Rose nods and looks over to my awkwardly, "I'm sorry for vanishing like I did."

I place the book down that I was holding, "Don't worry about it."

"What happened with Elijah?" Rose asks.

I shrug my shoulders, "Nothing actually. He killed those three guys and then just left."

"I tried to call Damon to explain, but he's ignoring me." Rose says as she takes a seat on one of the couches.

I look over to Rose pulling a disgusted face, "Look, I don't know what's going on between my brother and you but I don't wanna get involved. He's too busy getting involved in my love life and I'd rather not do the same."

"Understood." Rose says putting her hands up in surrender and smiling.

"Right well now that's sorted, I'm going over to Elena's house to give these to her aunt." I say as I pick up the books I've picked out.

I begin to walk out but then turn to look at Rose, "Oh, Rose."

Rose turns to look at me and smiles.

"I er, I'm glad you're back. Make yourself at home." I say smiling.

Rose nods and smiles back and I walk out the house and get in my car and make my way to Elena's.

-------------------------------------------

3RD PERSON POV:

Elena has been stuck in her house all day because of a spell Bonnie done to stop Elena doing anything stupid. Elena goes down the stairs and finds Jenna searching in the closet.

"Hey, what are you doing?" Elena asks as she walks up to Jenna who is kneeling down looking through the closet.

Jenna looks up at Elena and stands up, "Perfect timing." She hands Elena a box full of books.

Elena looks at the box confused, "What is this stuff?"

"Your mom's files from the Historical Society. I got roped into helping Mrs. Lockwood and by roped, I mean very excited to participate." Jenna says as she closes the closet, revealing Elijah standing on the other side of the door.

Elena jumps in shock causing one of the books to fall out of the box.

"Hey, I'm Elijah." Elijah smiles over to Elena innocently.

"Elijah's in town doing research on Mystic Falls." Jenna says as she takes the box off Elena.

Elijah walks towards Elena and holds his hand out, "It's a pleasure."

Elena looks at Elijah nervously and shakes his hand.

Jenna stands next to Elena, "So you're welcome to stay here and rummage through this stuff or Elena and I could help you load it into your car."

"Or I can get someone to pick it up tomorrow." Elijah suggests.

Jenna smiles, "Also a good plan."

Elijah starts to make his way over to the door, "Thank you so much for inviting me into your home, Jenna; and Elena..." He smiles over to Elena, "I hope to see you again sometime soon."

Elijah leaves. Elena rushes upstairs to Jeremy's bedroom, as she is walking up the stairs she sends a quick text to Lola, "SOS 911".

Elena knocks on Jeremy's door but Elijah grabs her wrist. Jeremy opens the door. Elijah hides next to the door and motions with a finger to his lips that Elena not tell Jeremy that he's there.

"What is it?" Jeremy asks as he removes his headphones.

"Um, Jenna was just asking me to get you to help her with the boxes." Elena says.

Jeremy nods, "Okay." He makes his way downstairs.

Elijah is looking at Elena, "A wise choice."

"What do you want?" Elena nervously asks.

Elijah smiles, "I think it's time you and I had a little chat."

---------------------------------------

LOLA POV:

I arrive at the Gilbert house, I grab the books from the passenger seat and walk up to the door and knock.

Jenna answers the door, "Ah Lola, you remembered!"

I smile, "Yeah of course, hope these will come in handy for you."

Jenna gestures for me to come in, I glance down at my phone and see a text Elena sent me a few minutes ago, "SOS 911"

"Um, is Elena home?" I innocently ask.

Jenna nods, "Yeah she's upstairs I think, go on up."

I make my way upstairs and quietly walk up to Elena's bedroom, that's when I can hear Elijah.

"Forgive the intrusion. I mean your family no harm." Elijah calmly says.

I open Elena's door and Elena looks relived to see me, I guess I'm her favourite Salvatore while Stef is locked in the tomb.

I look over to Elijah who is a little stunned to see me standing in front of him.

I frown at him, "I thought I could smell something."

Elijah laughs slightly, "Lovely to see you again, Charlotte."

Elena comes to stand next to me, "Why did you kill those vampires when they tried to take me?" She asks.

"Because I didn't want you to be taken. Klaus is the most feared and hated of the Originals, but those that fear him are desperate for his approval. If word gets out that the doppelgรคnger exists, there'll be a line of vampires eager to take you to him and I can't have that." Elijah says as he takes a seat by the window.

I look over to him confused, "Isn't that exactly what you're trying to do?"

Elijah shrugs his shoulders, "Let's just say that my goal is not to break the curse."

"So, what is your goal?" Elena asks confused.

"Klaus's obsession has made him paranoid. He's a recluse. He trusts only those in his immediate circle." Elijah says looking over to me.

"Like you?" Elena asks Elijah.

Elijah smiles lightly and then shakes his head, "Not anymore."

I look at Elijah raising my eyebrow, what the hell happened to the Mikaelson brothers since I last seen them?

"You don't know where he is, do you? So you're trying to use me to draw him out." Elena points out.

"Well, to do that I need you to stay put and stop trying to get yourself killed." Elijah says in a sarcastic tone, smirking.

Elena crosses her arms against her chest, "How do I know you're telling the truth?"

"If I wasn't being truthful, all your family would be dead and I'd be taking you to Klaus right now. Isn't that right, Charlotte?" Elijah says smiling over to me.

Elena looks at me concerned and I nod to reassure her, "He's telling the truth."

"Instead, I'm here and I'm prepared to offer you a deal." Elijah says.

"What kind of a deal?" Elena asks looking over to Elijah confused.

Elijah stands and walks towards Elena's dresser, "Do nothing. Do nothing, live your life, stop fighting and then, when the time is right, you and I shall draw out Klaus together and I shall make sure your friends remain unharmed." Elijah says as he flicks through a book that is on the dresser.

"And then what?" Elena asks.

Elijah turns to face Elena and I, "Then I kill him."

"What wait?" I say in shock without even realising it.

Elena glances at me and then back at Elijah, "Just like that?"

Elijah smiles, "Just like that. I'm a man of my word, Elena. I make a deal, I keep a deal."

"How are you gonna be able to keep everybody safe?" Elena asks.

"I notice you have a friend; Bonnie, is it? She seems to possess the gift of magic. I have friends with similar gifts." Elijah says in a smug tone.

Elena scoffs, "You know witches."

Elijah smiles and takes a few steps towards us, "Together, we can protect everybody that matters to you. So, do we have a deal?"

Elena looks at me for reassurance again, this girl cannot make decisions on her own that much. I nod at her to accept the deal.

Elena looks back to Elijah, "I need you to do one more thing for me."

Elijah looks at me and looks back at Elena, "We're negotiating now?"

"I want you to free Stefan from the tomb." Elena confidently demands.

"Done." Elijah simply states.

I scoff, "Really? As easy as that?"

Elijah smirks at me, "As easy as that. I'll get in contact with the witches on my end and have them release the spell that is on the tomb."

Elena nods, "I'll come with you."

I stand in front of Elena, "No." I look over my shoulder to Elijah and then look back at Elena, "I'll go with him. You stay here, I'll get Stefan to come here."

Elena smiles and nods. Elijah and I then make our way outside and get into my car and make our way to the tomb.

The car ride towards the tomb was silent, awkward silence. I wanted to ask Elijah how Klaus was, why they aren't speaking, why Elijah wants him dead. But, I just couldn't find the right words.

"You're looking well, by the way Charlotte." Elijah says breaking up the awkward silence.

I laugh, "And you have not changed, how many suits do you actually own?"

Elijah laughs, we get to the tomb, I pull up at the edge of the woods and we get out and make our way towards the tomb.

I pluck up the courage to ask Elijah about Klaus, "So, um, how is he?"

"If you mean he as in Niklaus, I don't know." Elijah says.

I look over to Elijah confused, "What the hell happened between you guys?"

Elijah laughs, "That's a long story, one for another time. His obsession with this curse has became too much, since he doesn't have you anymore it's only just got worse because it's the only thing for him to focus on."

I stop walking and glare at Elijah, "That was a low blow."

Elijah stops walking also and turns to face me, "I didn't mean it in an offensive tone, I was merely stating the facts."

"Look, it's a long story why I left him, as you know." I say as I glare at Elijah.

"I'm not mad about it, Charlotte. I'm happy to see you again, I'm happy to see that you are back with your brothers." Elijah says smiling at me, he turns to start walking again.

"I seen him a few weeks ago." I blurt out.

Elijah looks over to me concerned and takes a few steps towards me, "Are you okay? What happened?"

"There wasn't any time for anything to happen. I met up with him because he wanted to talk, but before he got chance I ran." I say looking down at my feet.

I look up to see Elijah giving me a sympathetic look, I roll my eyes, "I had to, I was scared he was going to come here. I was scared he was going to hurt my brothers as revenge and then find out about Elena."

Elijah says nothing but pulls me into a hug. I felt all the frustration that has built up from today leave my body. Elijah was like Damon, he was like my brother. Just like Damon, he always knew how to calm me down.

He pulls away from the hug and looks into my eyes, "I'll be here to protect you from Niklaus, like I have for the past few decades."

I smile up and him and nod and we continue to walk to the tomb. We make our way down the steps to the tomb, we see Katherine and Stefan walk towards the entrance.

Katherine stops in her path and looks both surprised and frightened, "Elijah." Katherine says quietly.

"Good evening Katerina. Thank you for having the good sense to be frightened." Elijah says.

Stefan looks over to me confused, "Lola what are you doing here?"

"Your release has been requested." Elijah says before I could say anything.

Stefan looks at Elijah confused, "What? By who?" He then looks over to me with the same confused expression.

I smile over to my brother, "It was all Elena, I'm just here to make sure it happens."

"The lovely Elena drives a hard bargain. However, we reached a peaceful agreement, she and I. Please." Elijah says, he gestures to Stefan to walk out of the tomb, "Come."

"I can't." Stefan says quietly.

"Yes, you can. I've had the spell lifted." Elijah says.

Stefan gets out slowly. Once he's out, he rushes over to me and pulls me into a hug. Katherine rushes to get out too, but still finds the invisible barrier there. Elijah vamp speeds to the entrance to face Katherine.

"As for you however, you should not exit until I say so. When Klaus comes, he'll want to know exactly where you are." Elijah compels Katherine.

Elijah turns to look at Stefan, "You're free to go. Elena will explain the arrangement to you. If she keeps her word, I'll keep mine."

Elijah looks at me, smiles and nods. I nod back and Elijah walks out of the tomb.

I look over to Stefan and smile, "Come on."

"Stefan, no. Please don't let him leave me in here." Katherine says from inside the tomb.

Stefan looks over to Katherine with no emotion on his face, "Goodbye Katherine."

Stefan then follows me out of the tomb and we make our way over to my car.

"So how come you ended up coming here with Elijah." Stefan casually asks.

"I was at Elena's anyway giving Jenna some of our ancestors books for some writer, who turned out to be Elijah. When I went to see Elena, Elijah was upstairs with her reasoning with her, she can you fill you in with all of that." I say as I start the car and drive towards Elena's house.

"Are you okay?" Stefan asks me looking concerned.

I glance over to Stefan and smile, "I'm fine Stef, I know it doesn't look like it, but Elijah is one of the good guys. Well not good guy like you Mr Hero Hair but he's not as evil as Klaus."

I drop Stefan off at Elena's house. Before I drive home I check my phone and I've got 3 missed calls and 5 texts from Damon. I don't bother to look at them, I just put my phone back in my pocket and drive home.

----------------------------------------------

I get back into the house, and within 5 seconds Damon is at the front door glaring at me.

"Where the hell have you been?" Damon snaps at me.

I frown at him, "I was with Elijah."

"What?!" Damon's voice starts to get louder.

I roll my eyes, "Relax Damon! I went with him to get Stefan out the tomb."

Damon looks at me surprised, "Stefan is out the tomb?"

I nod, "Yeah, he's at Elena's. So were your missed calls and texts just to see where I was?"

Damon looks down at the ground, "No, something happened?"

I look at him confused, "What's going on Damon?"

Damon sighs, "Rose got bit."

My eyes widen in shock, "What?!"

"That dumb ass wolf chick from the Grill came and tried to attack me but bit Rose in the process." Damon says.

"Well is she okay?" I ask concerned.

Damon nods, "She's fine, the bite healed."

I look at Damon confused, "It healed?"

Damon shrugged his shoulders, "Guess all those legends were false."

I raise my eyebrows in shock, "Well that's good to know."

Damon looks at me concerned, "Are you okay?"

I roll my eyes, "I really wish you would stop asking me that, I'm fine!"

"I'm just worried, Lo. It's not just Elena's life that is in danger, it's potentially yours too." Damon looks at me with his eyes filled with sadness.

I cup Damons face with my hands, "Hey, I'll be fine."

Damon nods and I make my way upstairs to go to bed.
